’2012 Korean Music Wave Festival’ in Incheon canceled + fans of Super Junior’s Leeteuk concerned

The 4th annual ‘2012 ‘Korean Music Wave Festival‘, which was scheduled to take place on September 15th at the World Cup Stadium in Incheon, has unfortunately been canceled.

HH Company, the event’s organizer, posted the announcement and apology onto the Korean Wave Festival’s official website stating the cancellation was due to expenses. The sudden cancellation has left many fans angered and disappointed as it would have invited numerous well-known idol groups such as KARA, Super Junior, F.T. Island, B.A.P, ZE:A, Boyfriend, Girl’s Day, Rainbow, A Pink, and more.

Fans of Super Junior’s Leeteuk, in particular, have expressed their concern as this event would have been Leeteuk’s last stage performance before enlisting in the military later this year.

One fan commented, “I heard Leeteuk prepared a lot for this as it would probably be his last stage performance before enlisting. This is disappointing.” Another wrote, “We won’t be able to see Leeteuk for the next two years. I’m shocked by the cancellation.”

Aside from fans of Super Junior, other fandoms expressed their disappointment saying, “If it was going to be like this, you guys shouldn’t have announced the event to begin with” and “Think about everybody who had been waiting for the concert to take place. Please just continue with the concert.”

HH Company will be issuing refunds to those who purchased tickets.

Kang Sora shares her thoughts on ending ‘We Got Married’

Actress Kang Sora shared her thoughts on leaving MBC‘s ‘We Got Married‘ series and her life as part of the “dimple couple” with Super Junior‘s Leeteuk.

Kang Sora posted to Twitter on September 8, “Soon, my final broadcast of ‘WGM’. To Kim Jun Hyun PD who’s worked hard for the past year. Do Gok Dong PD. Writers Sang Hee, Kyung Mi, Na Ol and Teuk oppa! I’m taking a lot of lessons from this. Thank you. To all the many viewers who watched too.”

Leeteuk previously expressed his feelings on ending the show as well on the 7th. He tweeted: “Sora and I’s segment on ‘WGM’ will end this week. Though I’m disappointed we couldn’t do as much as I wanted during this past year, I’m just happy to have comfortably shown the person Park Jung Soo [instead of Super Junior's Leeteuk]. Thank you to Shin Kim Joon PD, Sang Hee and Kyung Mi nuna for all your hard work. Sora too. ^^.”

The “dimple couple”, who started their on-screen relationship last October, had their final appearance on the September 8th broadcast of the show.

Super Junior’s Leeteuk shares his thoughts on ending ‘We Got Married’

Super Junior‘s Leeteuk and Kang Sora will be saying their farewells on the upcoming September 8th episode of MBC‘s ‘We Got Married‘.

The couple spent their last moments at the “dimple house” where they looked over pictures, items, and reminisced on their times together during the past year. Leeteuk in particular is reported to have surprised with his displays of affection towards Kang Sora.

The Super Junior member tweeted on September 7: “Sora and I’s segment on ‘WGM’ will end this week. Though I’m disappointed we couldn’t do as much as I wanted during this past year, I’m just happy to have comfortably shown the person Park Jung Soo [instead of Super Junior's Leeteuk]. ‘When Love Walked In’ starring f(x)’s Victoria and Super Junior-M’s Zhou Mi places 1st in viewer ratings for time slot

Chinese drama ‘When Love Walked In‘, starring f(x)‘s Victoria and Super Junior-M‘s Zhou Mi, has placed first in viewer ratings for its time slot!

Victoria plays the lead role as a modern Cinderella in the “love triangle” drama, while Zhou Mi plays one of her love interests.

According to the Chinese television ratings research company CSM, episodes 13-16 of the drama, which aired from the 3rd through the 4th, recorded 0.902% ratings for episodes 13-14 and 0.987% for episodes 15-16.

The drama hit #1 in its time slot despite only having premiered on August 27.

Super Junior helps MBC’s ‘Radio Star’ maintain high viewer ratings

For the past three weeks, ‘Golden Fishery‘ has managed to seize the highest viewer ratings out of all the programs in it’s same time slot.

The September 5th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Golden Fishery-Radio Star‘ in particular recorded 8.4% total viewer ratings (according to AGB Nielsen Media Research), which was a 1.4% drop from the broadcast before that, however, it still managed to slightly surpass the ratings of SBS ‘Pair‘ (7.3%) and ranked at the #1 spot.

The program without a doubt benefited from the ‘Super Junior effect‘, as the most recent episode featured Super Junior‘s Leeteuk, Shindong, Siwon, and Eunhyuk. One of the most talked about segments on show was when Shindong shared the advantages and disadvantages to dating publicly, and explained why he was envious of Big Bang‘s G-Dragon.

Shindong admits his girlfriend has G-Dragon’s photo as her cell phone wallpaper

Super Junior‘s Shindong expressed his envy of Big Bang‘s leader G-Dragon.

Shindong guest-featured on the September 5th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘, where MC Yoo Sae Yoon suddenly asked Shindong where his girlfriend lived.

“Someone on the bus had your picture as her cell phone wallpaper, so I concluded that it was your girlfriend,” Yoo Sae Yoon said to Shindong.

Getting a laugh out of this, Shindong responded, “Let me tell you something funny. The wallpaper to my girlfriend’s cell phone is not one of me, but of G-Dragon.”

“She doesn’t like when I contact other female celebrities, but when I get jealous of G-Dragon, she doesn’t understand why I get mad because she claims she is just a fan,” he explained.

Also on the episode were fellow Super Junior members Eunhyuk, Siwon, and Leeteuk.

Super Junior talk about how their European fans threw undergarments & condoms on stage

Super Junior admitted that they were once completely shocked by the things being thrown on stage at them by fans overseas.

Eunhyuk, Leeteuk, Siwon, and Shindong guest-featured on the September 5th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘, where the boys began by saying, “The European fans are so liberal. They just grab your face and kiss you. That kind of ‘skinship’ is so natural for them.”

The members continued, “When one member experiences something like that, we should be more careful, but rather we ask where that action took place and if someone says she was beautiful, we all go over to that side,” causing the set to explode into laughter.

Shindong shared his own shocking experience by saying, “[A fan] was fumbling through her clothes, when she suddenly threw her undergarments at me. I was so shocked, but they said that’s just the culture there and it’s very natural.”

Leeteuk’s story was perhaps the most shocking as he said, “The fans were throwing gifts on stage, and at first glance, they were small vinyl packs. Upon a closer look, I realized they were condoms.”

Super Junior’s Siwon is interested in Kyuhyun’s co-host position on ‘Radio Star’?

Super Junior‘s Siwon revealed he was interested in Kyuhyun‘s co-host position on MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘.

During filming for the upcoming September 5th broadcast of the show, Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Siwon, and Shindong appeared as guests.

Siwon offered to the hosts of the show, “I can participate as an MC without pay.” He also shared his thoughts on his “perfect” image, and the Super Junior members commented, “Siwon’s a lot better off than people know.”

The members then discussed Kangin, who’s joined the group for their 6th album after finishing up his mandatory military service, and divulged stories from behind the scenes as well as their true feelings on his return.

This episode of ‘Radio Star’ will air on the 5th at 11:15PM KST.

Super Junior‘s Leeteuk and Siwon shared a picture from their daily lives of being ‘cold city guys‘.

On September 4th, Leeteuk tweeted, “[Hanging out like this]… kekeke. After playing basketball kekeke,” and shared the above picture.

The picture shows Siwon and Leeteuk sipping on a couple of refreshing smoothies after a game of basketball.

Fans responded, “Like a cold city guy,” “How can he look so handsome even when wearing a beanie like that,” “Leeteuk’s eyes might pop out,” and “Where’s that cafe?”

Super Junior to delay fan signing event due to Bolaven typhoon

Super Junior will be delaying their fan signing event due to the Bolaven typhoon that’s hitting South Korea.

SM Entertainment announced on August 28 KST, “Due to the Bolaven typhoon, Super Junior arrived one day later than planned at Incheon airport on August 28 at 6AM.” The group had previously traveled to China for a fan sign event in Guangzhou.

A representative stated, “Originally, the event was to be held in Seoul at a small music store on August 28 at 5PM, but considering the typhoon, it’s been delayed to September 5 in order to prevent any accidents.”

In other news, member Shindong will finally be making a return to MBC Radio‘s ‘Shindong’s Shimshim Tapa‘.

Choi Siwon offered a role in upcoming drama series, ‘King of Drama’

Super Junior‘s Siwon could possibly be making a comeback to the small-screen with SBS-TV‘s ‘King of Drama‘.

A representative from Choi Siwon’s agency SM Entertainment informed Dispatch on August 27th, “[Choi Siwon] is considering the role with a positive mindset. He is currently working out the finer details with the staff members, and leaving room for potential as it is a good script.”

Because it would not overlap with his Super Junior’s activities, there is a good chance the singer will be able to star in the drama. His reps continued, “The drama is scheduled to air in December, so there will be no overlap with his promotions as an artist. If his appearance becomes confirmed, he will be adjusting his personal schedules around the drama as well.”

If he accepts, Choi Siwon will be playing the role of an intimidating and curt top star. Those being considered to be cast as his acting partner are none other than Kim Myung Min and Jung Ryeowon, and their names along are already drawing much attention from fans.

Super Junior’s Sungmin warns ‘Kiss the Radio’ fans of typhoon

Super Junior‘s Sungmin tried to keep his fans safe.

On August 27th KST, Sungmin tweeted, “Please don’t come to the open studio of today’s ['Super Junior's Kiss the Radio']~ It’s dangerous because the typhoon’s coming! I’m asking you a favor, you must not come~ It’s because I’m so worried… It’s likely that a lot of foreign fans won’t know about the dangerous situation, so Korean fans please take care of them~.”

Fans commented, “Sungmin’s great love for his fans,” “You seem really worried! Please all, don’t go,” and “Sungmin’s so sweet.”

In related news, the typhoon Bolaven was reported to be heading towards the Jeju Islands, South Korea on August 27.

Kang Sora impressed by Leeteuk’s body on ‘We Got Married’

On the August 25th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘We Got Married‘, Kang Sora showed her excitement over Super Junior Leeteuk‘s great physique after seeing a photo of him topless.

Kang Sora exclaimed, “Oh my god! Oppa? For real? [That kicks butt],” showing off her Kyungsangdo dialect, which she’s practicing for a film she’s working on.

Leeteuk questioned, “Honestly, you only like me for my body, don’t you?”, to which Kang Sora replied, “I like your body because I like you.”

He then made a romantic promise saying, “I’m going to exercise for the rest of my life.”

Super Junior’s Yesung celebrates his final birthday in the 20′s with Japanese ELF

Super Junior‘s Yesung celebrated his 29th birthday (Korean age) on August 24th. As the members of Super Junior are in Yokohama, Japan for their ELF-JAPAN FAN MEETING 2012, Yesung shared his thoughts on celebrating his final birthday in his twenties.

Yesung took to Twitter to share the above photo and tweeted: “Last Birthday in the 20′s .. this strange feeling will be wrapped up by celebrating with our ELF ^^ I’m a Happy Person ^^”

It was reported that more than 30,000 fans attended the ELF-JAPAN FAN MEETING 2012 event.

Who will Super Junior’s Donghae give roses to on ‘Miss Panda and Mr. Hedgehog’?

On August 24th, ‘Miss Panda and Mr. Hedgehog‘ revealed still cuts from its upcoming episode airing on the 26th. Super Junior‘s Donghae can be seen in the middle of the streets with a bouquet in hand.

The pictures show Donghae holding roses and a cake with a romantic expression on his face, as if he is about to propose to someone. Since his character in the drama, Go Seung Ji, has never given flowers to a girl before, there is increasing curiosity over why he is holding a bouquet.

A staff member from the drama shared, “It’s a scene where viewers can see an unexpected side of the rough, hot-blooded young man, Go Seung Ji. Please look forward to how Go Seung Ji will transform due to various incidents.”

Meanwhile, in the last episode of the show, Go Seung Ji looked for a new job to help his grandfather, and found one at Panda Yang’s bakery. He told his grandfather that Panda was his girlfriend.

Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Siwon snap a photo at Jamiroquai’s concert

Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk and Siwon snapped a photo together at Jamiroquai‘s concert in Korea.

On August 22nd, Siwon attached the above photo on his Twitter and wrote, “Jamiroquai babe! AUDI LIVE 2012 in SEOUL!“.

In the revealed photo, the two seem really excited for the concert as Siwon holds a glow stick in his mouth while Eunhyuk points his towards the camera. Both also paired a black top with dark skinny jeans.

In related news, Jamiroquai stated to the Korean media that he has watched Super Junior’s music videos and his ‘Audi Live 2012 – Jamiroquai’s Concert in Korea’ took place at 8PM on August 22nd in Seoul.

Super Junior & BOYFRIEND rank in top 5 on Oricon Daily Chart

On August 22nd, Super Junior officially released their fourth Japanese single “Sexy Free & Single“. After first day of sales, the single placed 2nd on the Oricon Daily Chart by selling 63,813 units.

Boyfriend also made their formal Japanese debut with the release of “Be My Shine” and they placed 4th on the same chart.

Leeteuk reveals that Mighty Mouth’s Sangchu accidentally gave Sulli a bloody nose

Super Junior‘s Leeteuk shared a behind-the-scenes story about f(x)‘s Sulli on the set of ‘To the Beautiful You‘.

On the August 21st episode of SBS‘ ‘Strong Heart‘, Leeteuk said, “I heard about a behind-the-scenes story for ‘To the Beautiful You‘”. He continued, “Mighty Mouth‘s Sangchu made a cameo in the drama and he shot a scene in which he got into a fight with Sulli.”

Leeteuk explained that during one part when Sangchu was supposed to send out a punch with Sulli ducking out of the way, the two missed and Sanchu’s fist ended up making contact with Sulli’s nose. Although Sangchu had tried to loosen the power from his arm when he saw his fist about to make contact with her nose, it wasn’t enough for Sulli’s nose started bleeding from both nostrils.

However, Sulli showed her professionalism and determination to keep going. “It started to bruise up, so I just asked the staff to cover up the bruise and kept continuing on with the shoot,” she said, earning compliments from the guests on the show.

Super Junior’s Donghae bares his new body for ‘W Korea’

Super Junior‘s Donghae recently participated in a portrait photo shoot with fashion magazine W Korea, revealing his healthy and cut physique.

The singer who is currently starring in ‘Miss Panda and Mr. Hedgehog‘ along with actress Yoon Seung Ah reportedly showed no signs of fatigue at the photo shoot, despite filming his drama late into the previous night.

Donghae explained that he watched what he ate and worked out regularly for this particular role, which explained his new toned and sexy figure. He displayed a more sensual side of himself, both as a man and an actor.

Titled ‘Me & Myself’, this photo shoot attempted to give Donghae the spotlight he deserves, as he is an idol group member that confidently grew as an individual and made a successful transformation into an actor.

The editor leading the shoot was surprised upon laying eyes on Donghae, saying, “Donghae looks much more grown up and mature compared to the Donghae that we photographed back in June of 2010.”

She seems to be right, as Donghae looks better than he’s ever had. The rest of Donghae’s photos can be found in the September publication of W Korea!
