Jevice wants to be compared to Fly to the Sky

Girl’s Day‘s agency Dream Tea Entertainment recently debuted a talented female duo named Jevice. Comprised of members Juri and Hana, the girls received spotlight prior to their debut for their already well-known vocal talent.

As one of the few duos in the market, they were compared to Davichi, the representative female duo of K-pop. “If there’s a difference between us and Davichi, it’s that we can also do dance music. We think it’s more fitting to compare us to Fly to the Sky because we share more similarities with them in that they were able to pursue both ballad and dance.”

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait to see any dance music coming from Jevice in the near future. Hana revealed, “We want to be recognized for our vocal talent through ballads first before we show our dance skills. If you want to see our dancing, show more love to our debut title track, ‘I Want to Love Now‘.”

Although this is their debut, the girls are no rookies to the game. Juri was a part of the chorus for ‘Qualifications of Men‘, while Hana was a first generation member of T-ara in addition to having several OST releases under her belt.

Both share similarities in that their past ventures didn’t bring much attention or success. Aside from ‘Qualifications of Men’, Juri’s career as a solo artist failed to take off, and Hana departed from T-ara after struggling to adjust to life in a group.

Hana revealed, “Before I joined T-ara, I performed in a band in Hongdae, so it was hard for me to adjust to living in a girl group with few freedoms. I did regret leaving T-ara because my parents had such a hard time with it.”

Jevice continued, “In the past, we thought we’d succeed no matter what, but after going through failures, it made us realize that we have to work that much harder to get our song out there.”

On their recipe for success, the girls chose teamwork. “We liked different genres so the difference in music tastes was hard to gap, but now that we’re actually working together, we’re discovering things we have in common. We have the same taste in men, so we’re both fans of Kim Soo Ro in ‘Gentlemen’s Class’ for his humor and masculinity.”

Davichi’s Kang Min Kyung has a rocky start to her MC debut on “Immortal Song 2″

Kang Min Kyung made her MC debut stage on May 12th’s airing of KBS‘ “Immortal Song 2“. Although she has appeared on the show before, she looked nervous since this was her first time being on stage as an MC.

Her nerves were shown through her ‘out of the blue’ questions. Not paying attention to the flow of the show, she asked questions that came to her mind such as asking about “thoughts on having the first stage” and “thoughts after seeing a performance.

Even the veteran MCs Jun Hyun Moo and Moon Hee Jun seemed thrown off by her mc-ing style.

But this wasn’t all. Kang Min Kyung interviewed the guests too quickly and the other MCs asked her, “Why are you interviewing them so quickly” and Kang Min Kyung pointed at Sonya at the other side of the room as she answered, “I wanted to get a chance to interview Sonya.”

The guests couldn’t help but laugh as Kang Min Kyung chose to interview one by one instead of directly addressing the person she wanted to interview in the first place.

Although she has proven herself as an artist, she was still a rookie MC and seemed a little tense as she spoke very clearly.

The others laughed as she enunciated every words as she asked Sung Hoon, who has been maintaining his undefeated title for 5 weeks in a row, “I’m excited for what Sung Hoon will show on stage today.”

It was a little awkward since it was her first time, but the viewers could see that MC Kang Min Kyung was trying hard. The show became more entertaining thanks to her awkward mc-ing and her hate-love romance with Huh Gak.

Huh Gak reveals he received an apology from Davichi’s Kang Min Kyung

Huh Gak recently revealed that he received an apology from Davichi‘s Kang Min Kyung.

If you remember, on a previous airing of KBS‘ ‘Hong Jin Kyung’s 2:00‘, DJ Hong Jin Kyung asked Kang Min Kyung if a relationship would be possible between her and Huh Gak, as his crush on her has been made quite well known through Immortal Song 2. Kang Min Kyung quickly interjected, “No thanks,” barely giving the DJ a chance to finish.

Hearing the news later on, Huh Gak stated that he had no interest in dating her either.

On the May 10th episode of Mnet‘s ‘Beatles Code 2‘, Huh Gak was asked if his response was made out of anger, and the singer answered, “I was more upset that people would talk about things like that without even asking what I thought and in a place where I wasn’t present.”

After that aired, Kang Min Kyung personally called me and said that she was really sorry,” he continued. “I told her it was okay, and that I had no interest in dating her either.

When asked why he told her he had no interest, Huh Gak responded, “It was because my feelings were hurt, I didn’t mean that I didn’t like herWho would say no if Kang Min Kyung asked to date?”, lightening the mood.

Other guests who featured on this episode were K.Will and Na Yoon Kwon.

Kang Min Kyung disapproves of the hot weather

Davichi‘s Kang Min Kyung expressed her frustration over the hot weather.

She tweeted in the afternoon on May 5th, “It’s hot, bboot!” The selca she posted made it evident that the star was not very happy with the heat as she pouted for the camera.

Fans seemed delighted by Kang Min Kyung’s post, however, as they thought her messy hair and annoyed expression were adorable. They responded, “You’re cute even when annoyed,” “Today is kind of hot,” “No matter what kind of expression you have on, you’re still loveable,” and “You look so pure and innocent with your hair all messed up.”

Davichi’s Kang Min Kyung says there is no potential for her and Huh Gak

Davichi member Kang Min Kyung firmly expressed her feelings (or lack thereof) for fellow singer Huh Gak.

On the recent airing of KBS Radio Cool FMHong Jin Kyung’s 2:00‘, DJ Hong Jin Kyung asked about a potential relationship between her and Huh Gak, as his crush on her has been made quite well known through ‘Immortal Song 2′.

Barely giving Hong Jin Kyung a chance to finish, Kang Min Kyung quickly interjected, “No thanks.”

However, upon realizing that she may have sounded a little harsh, she added with a smile, “But he is an extremely appealing young man.”

On the same show, she revealed that there have been a number of celebrities who have asked her out, drawing attention from listeners and fans alike.

Visa problems delay T-ara, Davichi, & Yangpa’s San Francisco concert

A few days ago, we reported that Core Contents Media had delayed their American concert, ‘K-Pop Power and Beauty Concert‘, for reasons unknown.

It’s just been revealed that the delay stems from a visa processing issue from concert organizers.

Though the artists were not at fault, they still felt upset at not being able to meet their foreign fans in person. T-ara, Davichi, and Yangpa all worked hard for the concert. Unfortunately, due to the concert organizers’ delay in distributing visas, we were forced to postpone the concert until April,” said a representative for Core Contents Media. “We also feel very sorry for all the fans who were waiting for our artists. We promise to perform an even better stage in April.”

If everything had gone according to plan, the concert would have taken place on January 13th, as scheduled.

In lieu of such a hiccup, T-ara will now double back to music program to promote their latest track, “Lovey Dovey“. The girl group is currently scoring four-for-four on the music charts, with a string of successes going back to last summer with “Roly-Poly“.
