Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung become a sweet couple for ‘Mind Bridge’





A picture of ‘Big‘ co-stars Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung on the set of a photo shoot for a clothing brand has been gathering interest.


The photo was released on the 21st during a photo shoot for business casual brand Mind Bridge‘s 2012 F/W fashion line.


Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung perfectly pulled off a sweet, fresh couple look for the pictorial. His soft and romantic charm along with her bright, lovable expressions brightened up the atmosphere on set. The two also showed their support for one another by monitoring each other’s photos.


In other news, Gong Yoo was recently cast as the main role for the upcoming movie, ‘The Suspect‘, and Lee Min Jung recently confirmed her relationship with actor Lee Byung Hun.

Gong Yoo to release his version of “For Anybody” for ‘Big’ OST





Actor Gong Yoo, who’s currently starring as Seo Yoon Jae for his drama ‘Big‘, will be releasing his own version of Davichi‘s “For Anybody” for the drama’s OST.


Co-composed by MengEee and Song Bong Jo with lyrics by Song Jae Won and Song Bong Jo, “For Anybody” is a stirring contemporary ballad featuring a simple piano and string instrumental. Gong Yoo will be showing off his singing skills through this new release, bound to melt the hearts of many with his alluring voice.


During the recording session for the song, Gong Yoo commented, “It was a great experience that made me forget about my exhaustion while thinking of our viewers.”


Gong Yoo is known to have participated in an OST in the past for the film ‘Finding Mr. Destiny‘ titled “Second First Love“.


The OST is scheduled for a digital release on July 23rd.

CROSS GENE’s Shin Won Ho reveals the occasion that allowed him to get closer with miss A’s Suzy





Actor and member of CROSS GENEShin Won Ho, revealed how he was able to get close to miss A‘s Suzy on the July 17th broadcast of KBS 2TV ‘1 vs. 100‘.


Shin Won Ho, who is currently playing the role of 18-year-old Kang Kyun Joon in the popular drama ‘Big‘, stated, “I don’t get to encounter Gong Yoo sunbae as much because he changes souls with me. But I do get to act with Suzy sunbae and Lee Min Jung sunbae.”


He added, “Lee Min Jung sunbae is very easy-going and caring. I formally greeted Suzy sunbae (even though she is younger in age) with a ‘hello’ but she said it was uncomfortable for her to accept a formal greeting [from someone who is older than her]. But I told her that I will greet her formally anyways since she is a sunbae.


Shin Won Ho also revealed that the two were able to become closer through one scene. “There was a scene in ‘Big’ where Suzy sunbae had to slap me but she kept hitting me lightly because she felt bad. After 6 times of slapping me, I finally said to her in informal speech, ‘just hit me hard once’. After that we got really close,” he said.

Gong Yoo dubbed Korea’s new ‘Chemy King’ of K-dramas





Before you ask, let us explain: ‘Chemy King’, which stands for ‘Chemistry King’, is a trendy new phrase that has been circulating the web among Koreans. As you can guess, it refers to an actor who is believably compatible with his/her co-star onscreen.


Netizens took to the polls and recently voted Gong Yoo to be the ‘Chemy King’ of Korean dramas at the moment. In addition to his current star role in ‘Big‘ alongside miss A‘s Suzy, this actor has convincingly played a multitude of male lead characters in dramas, from Park Tae In, the lover of Na Bori (Kong Hyo Jin) who was six years his senior, in ‘Hello My Teacher‘, to Seo Gun, who falls in love with Seo Haneul (Sung Yuri) in MBC’s ‘One Fine Day‘.


The connections have even spilled over to real life in a series of incidences. After the filming of the hugely successful drama ‘Coffee Prince‘ back in 2007, he was widely suspected to be in a real-life relationship with co-star Yoon Eun Hye. Later on, he was also swept up in a love scandal with ‘Finding Mr Destiny‘ co-star Im Soo Jung.

[Spoiler] New still cuts of Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung’s supermarket date for ‘Big’ released





KBS‘s ‘Big‘ has released new still cuts of Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung enjoying a ‘supermarket date’ in the upcoming episode!


Having recently returned from the States, ‘Kang Kyung Joon’ actively begins pushing his teacher ‘Gil Da Ran’ to marry him to ward off pressure from ‘Yun Jae’s’ mother to marry another woman. Speculations of the two finally getting married have been circulating since last week’s episode, and the still cuts released today seem to be fueling those speculations.


Looking almost like newlyweds, the still cuts show them looking as cute as ever as they shop for various food supplies. Despite the filming taking place in the early morning, Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung thoroughly enjoyed the filming, even fooling around with fruits and vegetables while the cameras were off.


Netizens commented, “They could shoot a pictorial at the supermarket”, “Can someone send a hottie like Gong Yoo over to our market too?”, and “They really look like newlyweds!”

Shin Bora discusses her kiss scene with Song Joong Ki + sends a love call to Gong Yoo





Comedienne Shin Bora sat down with reporter Kim Tae Jin for an interview for the June 23rd installment of KBS‘s ‘Entertainment Weekly – Guerilla Date


During the interview, Shin Bora was asked about her kiss scene with actor Song Joong Ki on ‘Gag Concert‘ to which she simply replied saying, “Aren’t I good at acting? I liked it.


Reporter Kim Tae Jin then asked the comedienne who she wishes to invite for the skit, ‘The Discovery of Life’. Shin Bora ended up selecting actor Gong Yoo, who’s currently starring in KBS’s Monday-Tuesday drama, ‘Big‘.


She then sent a love call to the actor saying, “I would like to have an opportunity to improve my acting ability with your help.”


Upon watching the broadcast, viewers left comments such as, “She’s very forward about her love call to Gong Yoo“, “I wonder if he’ll really appear as a guest on the skit“, and “I want to see her acting with Gong Yoo.”

Gong Yoo considering a role in upcoming film ‘The Suspect’





It has been reported that actor Gong Yoo is considering taking on a role in the upcoming film,The Suspect‘.


Recently, reports surfaced confirming the actor’s casting in the movie. However, the actor’s representatives have since then denied the news stating that he has been looking over the offer, but has not made any decision about taking on the role.


On June 22nd, Forest Entertainment stated, “It is true that we’re in discussion for a role, but we haven’t confirmed or made a decision yet. Gong Yoo is currently busy with his film schedule for ‘Big’ so we haven’t been able to discuss the details with him.”


For now, Gong Yoo has revealed that he will be focusing on his role as ‘Yun Jae’ in ‘Big’.


In related news, ‘The Suspect’ is an action film directed by ‘Seven Days‘ director Won Shin Yeon. Other actors previously named for the same role include Yoon Kye Sang and Choi Min Shik, who have both turned down the offer.

Gong Yoo and G.NA voted as the #1 celebrities to spend summer vacation with





Handsome actor Gong Yoo and solo artist G.NA have been voted as the #1 male/female celebrity netizens want to spend the summer vacation with.


Between June 4th and the 18th, media portal site, Mediatong, conducted a poll asking 548 of its members which male and female celebrity they would like to spend their summer vacation with this year.


Among the male stars, Gong Yoo, who’s capturing the hearts’ of many female viewers with his role in KBS‘s ‘Big‘, topped the list with a total of 40.1% votes. Second place went to actor Joo Won, who’s simultaneously appearing in KBS’s ‘1 Night 2 Days‘ and drama ‘Bridal Mask‘, with 21.5% votes.


Trailing behind those two were So Ji Sub with 14.6%, Kim Soo Hyun with 10.7%, and Big Bang‘s T.O.P with 7.4% votes.


As for the female celebrities, G.NA took the lead with a total of 32.7% votes. Girls’ Generation‘s Yuri came in second with 17.8% votes, followed by ‘Gentlemen’s Dignity‘ lead female character Kim Ha Neul with 14.4%, 4minute‘s HyunA with 10.4%, and miss A‘s Suzy with 6.7%.

[Spoilers] Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung have their first kiss on KBS’ ‘Big’





Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung finally shared a romantic kiss on the set of KBS 2TV‘s ’Big‘.


On the episode that aired June 18th KST, Seo Yoon Jae (played by Gong Yoo) and Da Ran (Lee Min Jung) took photos for their upcoming wedding. However, Da Ran who learned that Yoon Jae would be leaving her, was noticeably devastated throughout the photo shoot.


Gil Da Ran thanked Kang Kyung Joon (Shin Won Ho), whose spirit is inside Seo Yoon Jae’s body: “Thank you for making these memories with me. With this picture, I now have a cherished memory with Yoon Jae [to look back on].


Disappointed, Kyung Joon yells, “I was the one who was holding and carrying teacher Gil, but in the end, the only person who matters is Yoon Jae.


Shortly after, Kyung Jun unexpectedly kisses Da Ran, surprising her. He then stated boldy, “This isn’t a first kiss with Seo Yoon Jae, but a first kiss with Kang Kyung Joon. Do I seem like Kang Kyung Joon now?

Lee Min Jung looking beautiful in her wedding dress for ‘Big’





Still shots of Lee Min Jung in a wedding dress from KBS2TV‘s ‘Big‘ have been revealed.


Lee Min Jung, who has starred in both dramas and movies with her feminine image, has once again captured the attention of male fans with her quirky personality as Gil Da Ran in ‘Big’.


Although Gil Da Ran was involved in a confusing mess, in which her fiancee Seo Yoon Jae (played by Gong Yoo) switched bodies with the high school teenager, Kang Kyung Joon (played by Shin Won Ho) in a car accident, she showed off her motherly side by warmly caring for Kyung Joon. In addition, Gil Da Ran took her wedding photos with Kang Kyung Joon’s soul still in Seo Yoon Jae’s body.


Fans who saw Lee Min Jung’s wedding stills commented, “That’s Lee Min Jung for you“, “She’s so pretty. She’s the prettiest bride I have ever seen” and “Just looking at her makes my heart flutter. Lee Min Jung is a goddess“.

SHINee’s Jonghyun thinks Mighty Mouth’s Sangchu resembles actor Gong Yoo?







Hip hop duo Mighty Mouth‘s Sangchu is receiving much attention for a recent tweet regarding actor Gong Yoo.


On June 13th, he tweeted, “Just now, SHINee‘s Jonghyun told me I look like Gong Yoo from ‘Big‘ #fact.”


Upon seeing his tweet, netizens commented, “I think Jonghyun is being too nice“, “Comparing Gong Yoo and Sangchu?“, and “Sangchu has his own unique style, but Gong Yoo is a god.”


Hallyu star Jang Geun Suk also tweeted in response saying, “You must be drunk”, causing followers to laugh.

[Spoilers] Gong Yoo takes it off again on episode 3 of ‘Big’!





On episode 3 of the drama ‘Big‘, Gong Yoo found himself taking his shirt off for the viewers once again.


After switching bodies with the elite doctor Yoon Jae, Kang Kyung Joon (Gong Yoo) ends up in a bar with Yoon Jae’s longtime friend and possible ex-lover, Lee Sae Young, and proceeds to get drunk.


Kyung Joon, who was suspicious of the relationship between Yoon Jae and Sae Young, screams out, “Seo Yoon Jae has married Gil Daran, and his body isn’t free to go to another woman!”


The next day, Kyung Joon wakes up in Sae Young’s bed topless, and immediately sprints out of the bed, takes his clothes, and leaves the scene.

[Spoiler]Still cuts of Suzy’s first meeting with Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung for ‘Big’ released





The addition of miss A‘s Suzy to the new KBS drama ‘Big‘ has aroused the curiosity of viewers.  They are interested in what changes her relationship to Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung will bring to the plot.


Suzy will make her first appearance in the third episode, broadcast on June 11th, as ‘Jang Mari’, the first love of ‘Kang Kyung Joon’. Having no idea of the soul change he and ‘Seo Yoon Jae’ underwent in the previous episodes, she spots Gil Da Ran with ‘Kang Kyung Joon’ in ‘Seo Yun Jae’s’ body and demands that the “ajusshi” take her to ‘Kang Kyung Joon’.


Unable to tell her that he is the real ‘Kang Kyung Joon’, he ignores her introduction as  his wife-to-be and tries to come up with a plan to make her return to the States.


The filming of the scene took place at a high school in Jongro. Staff were more than satisfied with the way Suzy was able to bring to life her character’s unique, four-dimensional personality.

Gong Yoo renews his contract with ‘KANU’





Gong Yoo, who’s recently made his comeback to the small screen through KBS‘ ‘Big‘, has renewed his contract with coffee brand KANU for his second year.


A representative of KANU stated, “His emotional image has appealed to a wide range of ages, so much so that when you think of coffee, you think of him right along with it. He’s popular with the coffee consumer base and has done a big part in helping create KANU’s brand image.”


Gong Yoo has become the most sought after CF star following his hits with ‘Coffee Prince‘ and ‘Dogani‘, and he’s continuing the trend with his comical acting in ‘Big’. The industry is already looking forward to the drama blowing up into another hit thanks to Gong Yoo and is getting in line to snag a contract with him.


He’s currently an endorsement model for insurance, clothing, social commerce, and food brands.

Girls’ Generation & Big Bang continue to dominate the CF market





There have been a number of celebrities who have dominated the CF market, shooting a wide variety of CFs for different corporations. But the top advertisement model status for the past year went to none other than Girls’ Generation.


According to Korea’s largest advertisement information site TV CF, Girls’ Generation had made appearances in 26 CFs since June 5th of last year. The total number takes into consideration CFs filmed by a single member, as well as the CFs the girls filmed as an entire group.


2nd place went to popular idol group Big Bang. For the past year, the boys have filmed a total of 24 CFs including endorsements for Sunny10, Naver Music App, and more. Idol groups such as Big Bang and Girls’ Generation are usually the top choices for corporations when it comes to selecting advertisement models.


In third place was actress Kim Tae Hee who endorses Elastine, Blacksmith, French Café, and more, while actor Kim Soo Hyun, who to rose to fame after taking on a role in hit drama series ‘Moon That Embraces The Sun‘ came in fourth place.


Actor Won Bin who filmed 20+ CFs in the last year for K2, MaximTOP, LG Cinema 3D SmartTV, and more came in 5th place. Girls’ Generation member YoonA who also filmed 20 CFs tied for fifth place. In addition to filming CFs with her fellow group members, YoonA is also an independent model for brands such as Innisfree.


The nation’s favorite figure skater Kim Yuna and multi-talented star Lee Seung Gi each filmed 17 CFs in the past year and tied for 7th place, while actor Gong Yoo and JYJ member Yoochun who each filmed 16 CFs in the past year both came in 10th place.

Pilot episode of ‘Big’ ranks last in viewer ratings for Monday/Tuesday dramas





KBS‘s new Monday/Tuesday drama ‘Big‘ has debuted at the bottom of the battle for viewer ratings.


According to a release made by AGB Nielsen Media Report on June 5th, the pilot episode of the drama, which broadcast on the 4th, recorded 7.9% in viewer ratings nationwide. This still makes it a 2% increase for the KBS time slot since ‘Love Rain‘ concluded at 5.9% on May 29th.


MBC‘s ‘Light and Shadow‘ recorded 20.3% and SBS’s ‘Chaser‘ recorded 9.2% in the same time slots.


Despite coming in at last, the drama’s been receiving positive reviews for being the work of the ‘Hong Sisters’, as well as for Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung‘s comical chemistry.

Gong Yoo laughs at Lee Min Jung, agrees with Suzy regarding beautiful skin





Gong Yoo showed different reactions to Lee Min Jung and Suzy‘s skin care secrets.


On the June 2nd episode of KBS2 TVEntertainment Weekly‘, the main characters of the new drama ‘Big‘, Gong Yoo, Suzy, and Lee Min Jung, came together.


Suzy said her first impression of Gong Yoo was that “He was handsome“, and Lee Min Jung said “He’s the top visual male, so he must always look good.” Gong Yoo appeared bashful, commenting, “They’re only saying such things because they’re in front of the camera.”


When asked how they take care of their skin, Lee Min Jung replied, “Laughter is the secret to beautiful skin.” Gong Yoo then looked over at her and said jokingly, “I don’t think so.”


In response to the question, Suzy said, “I think it’s because I am young,” and Gong Yoo agreed to her statement right away. On this episode, Lee Min Jung also revealed that the person she wants to invite to the drama as a cameo was Lee Seung Gi, and Suzy revealed that hers was Lee Min Ki.

On June 2nd, the stars of new drama ‘Big‘, Gong Yoo, Lee Min Jung, and Suzy, appeared for an interview on KBS2‘s ‘Entertainment Weekly‘.


On this episode, the three actors gathered together on the set of ‘Big’ to reveal their honest thoughts about each other. Lee Min Jung said her first impression of Suzy was that, “she really looked like a doll.”


When the reporter commented that Lee Min Jung also had doll-like features, she replied, “I’m a doll that’s a bit old now. Suzy is like a doll that’s just been born. Her skin is so fresh.”


When asked about the cameo role for ‘Big’, Lee Min Jung replied, “I saw that Lee Seung Gi sshi came out on ‘The Greatest Love‘. If only he came out on ours,” and Suzy said, “Lee Min Ki sunbae.”


Gong Yoo then commented, “I personally know Lee Min Ki. I’ll call him for you.”  Suzy started blushing immediately and Gong Yoo followed with, “I guess you really do like him,” making Suzy even more embarrassed, and elicited laughter on the set.

Lee Min Jung is uncomfortable taking a two shot with Suzy?





Actress Lee Min Jung revealed the age gap between herself and ‘Big‘ co-star Suzy of miss A.


During the press conference for KBS drama ‘Big’ on May 29, Lee Min Jung shared that she and Suzy have “the same chinese zodiac sign,” revealing that she is nearly 12 years older than Suzy. She stated, “I found out that Suzy was going to be starring in the drama on the news. I think the drama will do well because of Suzy.


She also added, “I think I am a little too old to be competing against Suzy. I try to avoid being in a two shot with her as much as possible. Instead, I will try to cherish the guy with a mother’s instinctive love.


‘Big’, a romance story between a divorcee, Gong Yoo, and an innocent teacher, Lee Min Jung, is airing its’ much-anticipated first episode on June 4.

Gong Yoo’s fanclub treats ‘Big’ cast and staff with lunch trucks





Gong Yoo‘s fanclub has set out to show their support for his first comeback to the smallscreen in five years.


On May 24th, his official fanclub, ‘YOO&I‘, visited the set of the ‘Big‘ film set in Jinchun with 120 servings of ‘samgyetang’ and fresh fruits for dessert. They also provided snacks for breaks in between filming like coffee and ‘shikhye’ to boost up the energy of cast and staff members.


Gong Yoo expressed, “As it is my first time greeting everyone through a drama in five years, I’m doing my very best for each and every scene. I feel both proud and grateful with the support and strength my fans have given me, so much so that I don’t know how to thank them. Thanks to their care, I can stand with square shoulders at the film set. Now that we’ve eaten deliciously, we’ll all run hard until the pilot broadcast. Please look forward to it.”


A representative of ‘Big’ added, “The staff and cast have gotten their staminas recharged thanks to Gong Yoo’s fanclub. We’re all fighting hard at the film set here.”


‘Big’ will begin airing on June 4th.
