SISTAR’s Bora impresses with her judo abilities on ‘Invincible Youth 2′

SISTAR‘s Bora showcased her impressive athletic abilities once again on the September 8th broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2‘.

In the show, the 2012 London Olympic Judo team from Korea participated in the shooting and showed the girls a few judo moves. While learning some of the techniques, Bora was able to easily flip over one of the athletes who had been teaching her, surprising everyone on set with her athletic abilities and courage.

On the other hand, Jewelry‘s Yewon had a minor accident when she fell over on her own while strutting confidently after learning one of the techniques. Judo athlete Kim Jae Bum commented, “If you’re not smart, you’re not good at sports either“, making everyone on the set laugh.

Netizens commented on Bora’s amazing judo skills, “Bora is the true ‘Exercise Idol’“, “She’s better than male idols“, “The athletes look surprised too“, and “We should send Bora to athlete training camp too!“.

Suzy, Hyoyeon and Bora brave the summer heat in winter clothes

Suzy, Hyoyeon, and Bora had to wear winter clothes in the dead heat of summer.

On the August 25th episode of KBS2‘s ‘Invincible Youth‘ the ladies greeted 6 diplomats.

On this episode, Girl’s Generation‘s Hyoyeon, SISTAR‘s Bora, and miss A‘s Suzy had to face punishment after losing a game with their foreign guests. Their punishment was to put on beanies, gloves, and a coat despite the warm weather. 

The girls and diplomats had a tough time during the filming as the heat made them sweat throughout the segment.

SISTAR’s Bora to help host ‘Quiz that Changes the World’ as special MC

Following 2AM‘s Jo Kwon and After School‘s UEE, SISTAR‘s Bora has been selected as the next special MC for MBC‘s ‘Quiz That Changes the World‘.

On August 15th, Starship Entertainment informed Sports Korea through a phone call, “Bora was given the opportunity to become the special MC on ‘Quiz That Changes the World’.” The singer concluded a successful recording for the program on August 9th, alongside original hosts Park Mi Sun and Lee Hwi Jae.

‘Quiz That Changes the World’ will be including a new special MC each week onto its program for a more lively and energetic show. The program has revealed that the addition of special MCs is not to replace former host Kim Gu Ra.

SISTAR reveals the member with the highest income on ‘All the K-Pop’

On MBC Music‘s ‘All the K-Pop‘, special guests SISTAR ranked their incomes within the group.

MC Boom kicked off the question by asking, “I heard that popular girl groups make quite a lot in income. Which of the members make the most?”

The girls replied honestly and chose Hyorin, explaining that they divided income earned from digital song sales and variety show appearances. Income not shared with the group members include drama appearances. Hyorin stated, “It’s true that my income came out greater than my fellow members after I starred in a drama. I’m pretty sure that Dasom will come up to second since she’s currently starring in a sitcom.”

Bora jokingly asked back, “I wonder why we have to divide our variety show income?”

When asked to rank who they thought had the best legs within the group, the group unanimously named Bora. Bora had previously headlined for having ultra thin ankles, and upon checking it against Boom’s wrist on the spot, Bora’s ankle came out to be thinner than his wrist!

‘Invincible Youth 2′ cast comments on MC Lee Young Ja’s entrance + photos from July 25th’s filming

The ‘Invincible Youth 2‘ members commented on the addition of MC and “mom” Lee Young Ja to the cast.

Comedian Kim Shin Young, who’s been hosting the show alongside Boom, revealed that she was a little uncomfortable at first with the idea, as Lee Young Ja was a professor from her alma mater. She stated, “At first, I was a bit burdened by the fact that I’d be doing this with Professor Lee, but I’m learning a lot. It feels like we’ve gained our footing. Like our room is finally clean.”

SISTAR‘s Bora expressed, “We’re no longer blundering around. I feel like it’s a lot more organized. It’s comfortable because I can lean on ‘mom’. She leads us well.”

Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon, who’s known as the daughter who doesn’t listen, stated, “I thought she’d be scary because she’s such a sunbae, but she’s comfortable like she’s my real mom. Because filming goes without a hitch, we end a lot earlier than before.” She also added about fellow member Sunny‘s departure: “I feel more responsible now that Sunny’s gone. I haven’t gotten the chance to make friends while promoting. I don’t really have any idol friends my age, but the ones I’ve met here are really human and honest.”

Bora said that she’s made friends on the show as well: “Even though it can get tiring, I just think of it as if we’re hanging out together.”

SISTAR’s Bora shares her thoughts on competing with 4minute

SISTAR‘s Bora will appear on the August 1st episode of QTV‘s ‘4minute’s Trouble Maker‘, where she will discuss her thoughts on competing with fellow girl group 4minute.

It was revealed that in the past, the two groups happened to release several of their new singles around the same period of time, making comparisons between the groups inevitable.

Bora stated, “Wherever we go, we get compared to 4minute. Honestly, the overdone comparisons and unnecessary competition made me uncomfortable and I really disliked it.“

SISTAR member Soyu, who is a former Cube Entertainment (4minute’s agency) trainee, continued, “When SISTAR won 1st place I had nightmares for 4 days because 4minute, who we are very close with, kept popping up in my mind.”

4minute’s leader and eldest member Jihyun agreed, “When we get interviewed, we always get questions about SISTAR.”

Receiving lots of love for “Loving U“, SISTAR members showcased various looks all using the color white for a photo shoot.

Through the recent shoot with ‘Vogue Girl‘, SISTAR flaunted their flawless looks and charmed with their innocent look in all white outfits.

SISTAR‘s Bora has been named the first female guest for season two of ‘1 Night 2 Days‘!

A KBS representative recently revealed, “SISTAR’s Bora completed recording for ’1 Night 2 Days’ as a special guest.”

Although she didn’t film for the full duration as she has a busy schedule, her appearance will no doubt bring about enthusiasm and a warm welcome from the all male cast of the ’1 Night 2 Days’.

SISTAR’s Bora and miss A’s Suzy smile brightly in a pair of selcas

SISTAR member Bora uploaded a pair of cute pictures of herself and miss A‘s Suzy laying on the floor together.

On July 9th, Bora updated SISTAR’s collective Twitter with the following cheerful message, “Because Suzy and I were [so] tired on this hot day, we laid down… keke. But we are still smiling of course ^_^/ kekekeke.“ In the selcas attached to the tweet, the two girl group members are seen making cute expressions as well as flashing innocent smiles, captivating their uncle fans.

Fans who saw the update commented on the selcas’ uplifting factor, saying, “Thank you… for being so cute like this,” “Bora and Suzy, [the two girls who] are disarming the male fans of Korea these days,” “Seeing you two get along like this is nice,” and, “[Seeing their] bright smiles makes me feel good too.”

In other news, as seen on the latest Instiz report, SISTAR continues to not only deliver lively performances, but to also maintain their top spot on the charts with “Loving U”.

The G6 of ‘Invincible Youth 2′ put on ‘airport fashion’ show

The G6 members of KBS2‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2‘ put on “airport fashion” show.

The girls arrived in their best airport fashion for the opening of the program. SISTAR‘s Bora showed up in a chic, all-black ensemble, while Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon wore a lovely one-piece dress with a flower print.

KARA‘s Jiyoung went with a striking, neon look, and with coffee in hand as well as headphones around her neck, she proved that she tried her best to fit the “airport fashion” concept. miss A‘s Suzy showed up in an outfit that looked innocent from the front and had a bit of sexy from behind as her top revealed part of her back.

This episode of ‘Invincible Youth 2′ was broadcast on July 7th KST and featured 2AM‘s Jo Kwon, MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon, and ZE:A‘s Kwanghee as guests. The boys and the G6 members harvested crops and had a cooking competition.

Stars attend ‘Deranged’ VIP movie premiere

A number of famous celebrities gathered on the night of July 4th to attend the VIP premiere of the movie ‘Deranged‘, held at the CGV Wangsimni IMAX theatre located in Haengdang-dong, Seoul.

Directed by Park Jung Woo, ‘Deranged’ is about a man trying to save his family from a widespread infectious disease carried by parasitic worms that induce the infected human to drown themselves.

Stars who attended included Sunny (Girls’ Generation), Bora (SISTAR), Shinhwa, Teen Top, Hello Venus, Joo Ji Hoon, Oh Yeon Seo, Park Kyung Lim, Seo Do Young, Park Jung Ah, Sim Eun Ji, Shin Hyun Joon, Son Tae Young, and Yoo In Young.

Hyorin reveals her first impressions of SISTAR members

On July 2nd’s broadcast of KBS‘ ‘Hello‘, SISTAR‘s Hyorin caught fellow member Bora off-guard by revealing the first impression she had of her.

The girls were asked to describe their first impressions of one another on the program, and Hyorin replied, “I thought Soyu looked feminine and pretty, and that Dasom was really, really pretty. Bora unni looked like someone from the countryside.” Bora playfully feigned her shock upon hearing Hyorin’s first impression of her.

Dasom then revealed her first impression of Hyorin: “She was really cute. She had big pupils so I thought she looked like a sparrow.”

Girls’ Generation’s Sunny reveals she has never been in a relationship

Girls’ Generation member Sunny has revealed that she has never been in a relationship in her life.

On the June 30th broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2‘, Sunny expressed her envy of guest Baek Ji Young, who has gone public with her relationship with actor Jung Suk Won.

“I have never been in a relationship,” Sunny said. “But I have been on a date. The most memorable date was when I was in middle school,” surprising Baek Ji Young and SISTAR‘s Bora.

Bora then asked Baek Ji Young to introduce her to a nice man, but Baek Ji Young replied saying, “I’ll have to ask your CEO first. However, I do believe that you guys should be allowed to date.”

Upon watching the broadcast, viewers left comments on the site’s message board saying, “Sunny has never been in a relationship? No way!“, “Poor Sunny“, and more.

SISTAR releases still cuts of Bora in a yellow swimsuit

Along with the release of  their summer special album ‘Loving U‘, SISTAR has unveiled still cuts of Bora from the set of their latest music video.

The picture shows Bora enjoying her time under the hot sun of Hawaii in a bright yellow swimsuit, a perfect color for the summer.

Netizens who came across the picture commented, “Bora looks so cute in yellow!”, “I spot a mermaid goddess“, and “‘Loving U’ daebak!”

As mentioned previously, the music video filming for ‘Loving U’ took place in Hawaii, and captured the essence of summer, drawing much attention.

Meanwhile, SISTAR is working hard for their upcoming comeback performance on ‘Music Bank‘.

SISTAR releases ‘LOVING U’ teaser photos for Bora

To top off this week’s daily doses of individual teasers from the ladies of SISTAR, it’s finally Bora‘s turn to reveal herself to fans!

The quartet’s special summer album ‘LOVING U‘s is anticipated to be released on June 28th. Simply dressed in a pink tank and white shorts, Bora continues the girly, youthful theme present in all of the photos.

Actor Lee Ki Woo recalls the first time he met Kim Tae Hee

Actor Lee Ki Woo, who plays the role of Ryu Ki Woo on MBC‘s ‘Standby‘, recounted the time he first met actress Hallyu Kim Tae Hee.

On the June 19th episode of SBS‘ ‘Strong Heart‘, the actor stated, “There were a lot of ulzzangs around me when I was in high school. At that time, the popular ulzzangs in my neighborhood were Jun Ji Hyun, Seo Ji Young, Lee Min Jung, Lee Jin, and Song Hye Gyo.”

“I was active as a member of a ski team in university. There was a time when we all gathered with the other college ski teams at a ski resort, and there was this one beautiful girl who stood out among the crowd. That was Kim Tae Hee,” he said. Kim Tae Hee is known to have been a member of Seoul National University’s ski team.

Lee Ki Woo continued, “Wherever Kim Tae Hee would go, all of the male students would follow her. She was the dream girl of all the male students.”

This prompted MC Shin Dong Yup to ask the actor, “If you had to choose between SISTAR‘s Bora and Kim Tae Hee, who would it be?” Lee Ki Woo revealed earlier that he was a huge fan of Bora, who made a surprise appearance on the program. Without hesitation, the actor selected Bora, causing the others to laugh out loud.

Actor Lee Ki Woo gives SISTAR’s Bora a back-hug on Strong Heart

Actor Lee Ki Woo confessed that he would like to give SISTAR‘s Bora a back-hug when he meets her.

On the June 19th broadcast of SBS‘s ‘Strong Heart‘, Lee Ki Woo stated, “When SISTAR came out on television while I was serving in the military, I would even skip meals to watch the program while screaming ‘MA BOY’. I want to give SISTAR’s Bora a back-hug if I get to meet her“.

Luckily for Lee Ki Woo, Bora made a surprise entrance into the ‘Stong Heart’ recording studio after his confession, in which he couldn’t contain his excitement. His wishes came true and he was able to give Bora a back hug.

Furthermore, while Lee Ki Woo was in the military last year, he stated through an interview “SISTAR gave me strength during my difficult time in the military“, proving to be a true and loyal fan of SISTAR.

In related news, this episode of ‘Strong Heart’ featuring Lee Ki Woo, Kim Boo Shin, Kim Bin Woo, Yoo In Young, Han Hye Rin, Yoo Se Yoon, Jang Dong Min, and Yoo Sang Moo will air today on June 19th.

Suzy transforms into a horror movie character on ‘Invincible Youth 2′?

miss A‘s Suzy unintentionally transformed into a horror movie character on this week’s episode of ‘Invincible Youth 2‘

For the June 26th broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2′, the crew visited a ranch on Daebu Island to personally make and give milk to the children on the island.

At the end of the day, the cast held another pot-picking game where only one pot had the food and the other pots contained punishments. The punishments were being sprayed with water or flour.

During Suzy’s first pick, the singer was chose a pot hiding a bucket of water. But after being splashed with water, SISTAR‘s Bora commented, “Suzy looks much prettier being soaked with water. Her face is clear and white.”

Upon hearing Bora’s compliment, Suzy was unable to contain her happiness as she began to dance with glee.

However, this all changed during Suzy’s second trial. The singer walked up to the pot she believed had the cream pasta, but unluckily had to face the penalty of being battered with flour, giving her the image of a horror character straight out of a movie.

Shocked by her scary image, her fellow cast members began to back away, whereas viewers burst out into laughter.

SISTAR members Hyorin and Soyu prefer to sleep naked

SISTAR‘s Hyorin revealed that she and fellow member Soyu prefer to sleep in the buff.

Hyorin made a guest appearance on the latest ‘Korean Diva’ episode of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘, along with talented 1st and 2nd generation singers, Kim Wan Sun and S.E.S‘ Bada.

MC Kyuhyun began by saying, “There are rumors going around that you (Hyorin) walk around naked in the dorm,” and asked the singer if the rumors were true. Hyorin who seemed a bit embarrassed confidently replied, “I walk around the dorm naked, wearing nothing but my undergarments.”

“I can’t sleep with my clothes on, and I’m not the only one that has this habit. Soyu also sleeps naked. When she and I are the only ones at home, the dorm turns into a female bathhouse,” she said, causing the emcees to blush crimson red.

Hyorin was then asked whether she thinks she has a nice body, and she honestly answered, “When I walk past a mirror and see my reflection, I tend to give myself a second glance.”

She added, “Honestly, I think Soyu and I have the nicest bodies in the group.” This prompted the emcees to ask if the other members, Bora and Dasom, acknowledge that they have the best bodies. Hyorin replied, “We actually acknowledge and give compliments to each other very well.”

In addition, Hyorin also spoke up about being nicknamed ‘Hwang Bi Hong (Jet Li as Wong Fei Hung) forehead‘ and shared her honest thoughts regarding her appearance.

Suzy’s great skin becomes a topic on ‘Invincible Youth 2′

Idol star Suzy‘s great skin and no-makeup look became topics on the June 9th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2‘.

Boom revealed, “Suzy was chosen as the female celebrity with the prettiest bare face. Kang Jiyoung, of course, came in second.”

It’s reported that Suzy filmed for this broadcast with no makeup on as well. Fellow G6 member Bora of SISTAR expressed a smidgen of jealousy as she said, “We don’t want to wear makeup, but we have to because of you.”

Suzy responded, “All you have to do is wear a facial mask to bed,” after which KARA’s Jiyoung added, “I think people are just born with great skin.”
