Super Junior helps MBC’s ‘Radio Star’ maintain high viewer ratings

For the past three weeks, ‘Golden Fishery‘ has managed to seize the highest viewer ratings out of all the programs in it’s same time slot.

The September 5th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Golden Fishery-Radio Star‘ in particular recorded 8.4% total viewer ratings (according to AGB Nielsen Media Research), which was a 1.4% drop from the broadcast before that, however, it still managed to slightly surpass the ratings of SBS ‘Pair‘ (7.3%) and ranked at the #1 spot.

The program without a doubt benefited from the ‘Super Junior effect‘, as the most recent episode featured Super Junior‘s Leeteuk, Shindong, Siwon, and Eunhyuk. One of the most talked about segments on show was when Shindong shared the advantages and disadvantages to dating publicly, and explained why he was envious of Big Bang‘s G-Dragon.

Super Junior members talk about the level of Siwon’s wealth on ‘Radio Star’

Super Junior‘s Leeteuk revealed that fellow member Siwon is much wealthier than is reported in the media.

Leeteuk, Siwon, Eunhyuk, and Shindong guest-featured on the September 5th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘ where they said, “[Siwon] is far wealthier than is reported in the media. When we talk about it, we are actually making it seem like he has less than he really does.”

Member Eunhyuk added, “Normally when people say someone is the son of a wealthy family, they are often exaggerating the truth a bit, but that isn’t the case with us.”

Leeteuk then chimed in saying, “Recently, Siwon’s father moved to a bigger company. His father was also running an undergarment brand, but he passed that on to [Siwon's] mother,” causing everyone to have a good laugh.

The members did not stop there. They continued, “We were in the car taking him home, and even just three months ago he lived in a building towards the front, but he asked us to drop him off at a building towards the back. Turns out, they were decorating the interior in the first building, so he was living in a different building.”

Radio Star MC Kim Guk Jin who was shocked to learn about Siwon’s wealth remarked, “Is your house some kind of chain store?”, causing Leeteuk to once again add, “Siwon is #1 when it comes to wealthy idols. He could possibly buy out MBC,” continuing the entertaining atmosphere on set.

Super Junior talk about how their European fans threw undergarments & condoms on stage

Super Junior admitted that they were once completely shocked by the things being thrown on stage at them by fans overseas.

Eunhyuk, Leeteuk, Siwon, and Shindong guest-featured on the September 5th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘, where the boys began by saying, “The European fans are so liberal. They just grab your face and kiss you. That kind of ‘skinship’ is so natural for them.”

The members continued, “When one member experiences something like that, we should be more careful, but rather we ask where that action took place and if someone says she was beautiful, we all go over to that side,” causing the set to explode into laughter.

Shindong shared his own shocking experience by saying, “[A fan] was fumbling through her clothes, when she suddenly threw her undergarments at me. I was so shocked, but they said that’s just the culture there and it’s very natural.”

Leeteuk’s story was perhaps the most shocking as he said, “The fans were throwing gifts on stage, and at first glance, they were small vinyl packs. Upon a closer look, I realized they were condoms.”

Super Junior’s Siwon is interested in Kyuhyun’s co-host position on ‘Radio Star’?

Super Junior‘s Siwon revealed he was interested in Kyuhyun‘s co-host position on MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘.

During filming for the upcoming September 5th broadcast of the show, Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Siwon, and Shindong appeared as guests.

Siwon offered to the hosts of the show, “I can participate as an MC without pay.” He also shared his thoughts on his “perfect” image, and the Super Junior members commented, “Siwon’s a lot better off than people know.”

The members then discussed Kangin, who’s joined the group for their 6th album after finishing up his mandatory military service, and divulged stories from behind the scenes as well as their true feelings on his return.

This episode of ‘Radio Star’ will air on the 5th at 11:15PM KST.

Super Junior’s Leeteuk and Siwon enjoy a refreshing break after playing basketball

Super Junior‘s Leeteuk and Siwon shared a picture from their daily lives of being ‘cold city guys‘.

On September 4th, Leeteuk tweeted, “[Hanging out like this]… kekeke. After playing basketball kekeke,” and shared the above picture.

The picture shows Siwon and Leeteuk sipping on a couple of refreshing smoothies after a game of basketball.

Fans responded, “Like a cold city guy,” “How can he look so handsome even when wearing a beanie like that,” “Leeteuk’s eyes might pop out,” and “Where’s that cafe?”

Choi Siwon offered a role in upcoming drama series, ‘King of Drama’

Super Junior‘s Siwon could possibly be making a comeback to the small-screen with SBS-TV‘s ‘King of Drama‘.

A representative from Choi Siwon’s agency SM Entertainment informed Dispatch on August 27th, “[Choi Siwon] is considering the role with a positive mindset. He is currently working out the finer details with the staff members, and leaving room for potential as it is a good script.”

Because it would not overlap with his Super Junior’s activities, there is a good chance the singer will be able to star in the drama. His reps continued, “The drama is scheduled to air in December, so there will be no overlap with his promotions as an artist. If his appearance becomes confirmed, he will be adjusting his personal schedules around the drama as well.”

If he accepts, Choi Siwon will be playing the role of an intimidating and curt top star. Those being considered to be cast as his acting partner are none other than Kim Myung Min and Jung Ryeowon, and their names along are already drawing much attention from fans.

Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Siwon snap a photo at Jamiroquai’s concert

Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk and Siwon snapped a photo together at Jamiroquai‘s concert in Korea.

On August 22nd, Siwon attached the above photo on his Twitter and wrote, “Jamiroquai babe! AUDI LIVE 2012 in SEOUL!“.

In the revealed photo, the two seem really excited for the concert as Siwon holds a glow stick in his mouth while Eunhyuk points his towards the camera. Both also paired a black top with dark skinny jeans.

In related news, Jamiroquai stated to the Korean media that he has watched Super Junior’s music videos and his ‘Audi Live 2012 – Jamiroquai’s Concert in Korea’ took place at 8PM on August 22nd in Seoul.

Super Junior’s Siwon and Eunhyuk are bodyguards for BoA backstage ‘Music Bank’

On August 17th, BoA showed her support for Super Junior‘s ‘S.P.Y.‘ by sharing a new selca taken with members Siwon and Eunhyuk.

Playfully posing as her bodyguards, BoA is seen posing confidently and leisurely beside the two members while writing, “I love S.P.Y.! You guys worked hard today as well.”

Eunhyuk responded with adorable jealousy to the picture by writing, “How could you dance with another man right in front of my eyes”, in reference to BoA performing with EXO-K‘s Sehun on the August 17th performance of “Only One” on ‘Music Bank‘.

The two had performed as a couple a week prior on ‘Inkigayo‘, making Eunhyuk’s jealousy all the more cute to netizens who commented, “How adorable”, “BoA’s so popular”, and “Your couple dance was amazing!”

Super Junior’s Siwon featured in ’1st Look’ magazine

Super Junior‘s Siwon showed fans a more natural and earnest side of himself in a pictorial for ‘1st Look‘ magazine.

The photos from his shoot for the August 16th edition of ’1st Look’ show Siwon sporting a natural hairstyle in casual attire, leaving fans impressed with his down-to-earth charm.

During an interview with the magazine, Siwon opened up about his personality, goals, as well as his relationship with the Super Junior members. He shared, “I have a detail-oriented personality. I hate making mistakes. That is why I try not to act in a way that other people might not appreciate.”

Siwon also said of Super Junior: “We have been together since 2005. There were a lot of things that happened. We are the type to communicate with each other whenever there are problems that may occur. Now we know each other’s likes and dislikes very well, we have become familiar with each other. I hope that we continue to stay together,” showing his deep affection for his fellow members.

He later added, “I think I have too formal of an image. I don’t want to just be known as a competent actor, but I also want to break the image of ‘Choi Siwon’ that people have.”

Super Junior’s Donghae and Siwon snap picture with 25,000 fans at ‘Bench’ event in Philippines

Super Junior‘s Donghae revealed a picture he took with fellow member Siwon holding a fan event in the Philippines.

On August 15th, Donghae tweeted, “To the 20,000 ELF who came to the Bench advertising fan meeting in the Philippines, thank you!!^^ I haven’t seen you guys in a while, but you all have gotten prettier ^^ I [love you] so much!! With Siwon,” and shared the above picture.

Siwon later added, “Accurately 25,000… Finished fixing!”

After seeing Donghae’s tweet, fans responded, “We got prettier too,” “Philippines fans must be happy,” and “As expected, Korean wave means Super Junior.”

In related news, Donghae is starring in the upcoming drama Channel A‘s ‘Miss Panda and Mr. Hedgehog‘, which will air its first episode on the coming 18th.

Siwon and Donghae take a photo on their flight to Manila

On the 14th, Donghae posted to Twitter: “We’re on our way to Manila right now. ^^ See u soon, guys !! With Siwon,” along with a photograph of him and and his Super Junior group member.

In the photo, Donghae’s features stand out despite the mask covering half of his face, while Siwon flashes a sweet smile at the camera.

Netizens responded to the photo saying, “I can tell it’s Donghae even with his face covered,” “I think they have similar eyes,” and “Why are you going to Manila?”

In related news, Donghae will make his first appearance on the first episode of Channel A‘s ’Miss Panda and Mr. Hedgehog‘ on August 18th KST.

Choi Siwon’s photoshoot with world-renowned designer Karl Lagerfeld featured on VMAN magazine

Siwon‘s photoshoot with world-renowned designer/photographer Karl Lagerfeld was finally revealed on the website of famous magazine ‘VMAN‘.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the Super Junior member had met with Lagerfeld, whom personally shot the singer for the fall issue of the fashion magazine.

In addition, Siwon drew awe from all for his unexpected connection to the internationally famous fashion designer, after revealing a friendly photo of the two taken in Paris.

The article titled ‘Seoul Caliber‘ featured on the website of VMAN magazine praises Siwon saying, “Since joining the Korean pop group Super Junior as one of 12 members in 2005, singer, actor, and model Siwon Choi has emerged as an icon without parallel in the ever- expanding culture of K-Pop. Also part of the Chinese offshoot Super Junior M, Siwon has been blazing a new trail by helping to export the glossy, surreal genre to neighboring countries and now the world. Furthermore, Perez Hilton‘s fashion-focused website ‘Cocoperez‘ covered the shoot as well saying, “VMAN gets all the hotties! For their Fall issue, Karl Lagerfeld photographed Korea’s K-Pop prince Siwon Choi! In these pics the singer-slash-model is featured in dark shadowy rooms, giving this whole spread a very raw and seductive feel, in a Jack-drawing-Rose-on-the-Titanic way.”

Super Junior’s Siwon takes a photo with Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany on her birthday

A photo of Super Junior‘s Siwon and Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany has caught the attention of fans.

On August 1st, Siwon tweeted the above photo with the caption, “Happy Birthday, Tiffany!”

Fans especially noted how close the two look in the picture. Tiffany can be seen wearing a blue dress with a red bag, showing her sense as a fashionista, while Siwon is looking very dapper in a suit.

Netizens who saw the photo commented, “What relationship do the two have? They look good together,” “Siwon is so good looking,” and “For some reason they look unapproachable.”

Super Junior will be releasing their remake album ‘SPY‘ through various music sites on August 5th.

Yesung reveals that Super Junior doesn’t think Siwon is the most popular in the group

On the July 23rd episode of Mnet‘s ‘Beatles Code 2‘, Yesung revealed that the Super Junior members did not consider Siwon to be the most popular in the group.

The MCs began the segment by asking the members what they thought the secret to their popularity was, to which Eunhyuk and Shindong replied much to the amusement of the studio, “Because we’re handsome.”

Eunhyuk added, “Out of Super Junior, Siwon is the most handsome.”

Yesung actually began shaking his head upon Eunhyuk’s statement and said instead, “Everyone says that Siwon is the most handsome, which I also agree with, but he’s not that popular.”

Surprised, the MCs asked back, “What do you mean he’s not popular?” Yesung replied, “If you take a vote within Super Junior, he always ends up in the bottom half.”

The other members agreed and nodded when Eunhyuk continued, “I always rank at the top within Super Junior votes.”

Yesung couldn’t help but shake his head to that as well, claiming that Eunhyuk actually ranked in the middle and that it was himself who always ranked in the top two or three. The other members teased him by shouting in disagreement.

Super Junior teases Eunhyuk at their sixth album press conference

Super Junior‘s sixth album comeback was launched to a successul start at the Imperial Palace Hotel on the morning of July 3rd with a press conference. The first question asked to Super Junior was none other than their looks.

When told by MC Kim Bum Soo about the popularity of their teaser images, Leeteuk expressed, “I really like how they turned out. I asked our manager on which member would have their teaser image released first and he said it would be Eunhyuk. I was curious to see how his came out since he said that the member with the most shocking teaser would go out first.”

He continued, “There are two times when Eunhyuk looks the best, and the first is when he grows his bangs out and covers his eyes, and the second is when he wears sunglasses.” With a chuckle, he added, “In the teaser, his eyes are covered.”

Eunhyuk replied, “I heard that the teasers would be released according to who was the most handsome. My eyes ended up being covered, though, which disappointed my parents. That’s why I came today with my forehead exposed.”

Leeteuk urged Siwon to share his opinion, to which Siwon playfully shocked Eunhyuk by saying, “I thought the teasers were being released according to who was the ugliest.”

Eunhyuk jokingly concluded the question by expressing, “Since our fifth album, we’ve been getting so many questions about ranking our looks so I tried to avoid the question this time. Our first question ended up being about our looks, though! I think we should just leave it up to everyone else to decide.”

Super Junior will be making their comeback on July 5th through Mnet‘s ‘M! Countdown‘.

Super Junior releases Siwon & Kyuhyun’s teaser photos for ‘Sexy, Free & Single’

Following the release of beautiful teasers for Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Leeteuk, Ryeowook, Donghae, Kangin, and Sungmin, the popular boy group Super Junior has released the teaser images for Kyuhyun and Siwon!

Much like the previous teaser photos, the new images of the two members show a 180-degree spin around from their former “ubersexual” concept, bringing about much attention from fans who are anticipating yet another hit from the group.

Super Junior’s newest album, “Sexy, Free & Single“, is purported to have a “beautiful males” concept and will be released on July 1st online, followed by an offline release on July 4th.

Super Junior’s Siwon introduces his… son?

Choi Siwon of Super Junior just posted a photo on Twitter introducing his son, immediately drawing attention from the singer’s fans worldwide immediately.

“Introducing my son, aigoo, the road ahead of him is dark,” Siwon introduced in the caption. As you can see below, the photo is none other than a Photoshopped polaroid of Eunhyuk on a baby’s body.

Upon seeing the hilarious photo and Siwon’s pessimism, Eunhyuk tweeted back in protest, “This guy has a bright future!“
