CNBLUE’s Jonghyun overcomes his fear of variety shows with appearance on ‘Go Show’

CNBLUE‘s Jonghyun, who played the role of Colin in the recently concluded hit drama series ‘Gentlemen’s Class‘, guest-featured on the recent episode of SBS ‘Go Show‘.

On the September 7th broadcast of the program, Jonghyun revealed that he actually used to be a Judo athlete in the past and displayed his competitive side as he remarked that he would do all that it takes to overcome his fear of variety shows that day.

The rather timid and quiet guitarist surprised everyone on set by being ambitious and doing things like lifting MC Jung Hyung Don and flipping him over in his attempts to overcome his fear.

Jonghyun, who is from Busan, also sat side by side with ‘Reply 1997‘ ‘satoori’ couple A Pink‘s Eunji and Seo In Guk, creating a love triangle and displaying his very own ‘satoori love confession’ to stir the hearts of the female audience members.

With his appearance on ‘Go Show’, the singer definitely showed that he has well adjusted to variety programs and hopefully we’ll see more of him on other programs!

MBLAQ’s G.O. talks about his acting experience in ‘Phantom’

MBLAQ‘s G.O. made a confession about his acting in the hit drama series ‘Phantom‘.

G.O. guest-featured on the September 7th broadcast of SBS TV ‘GO Show‘ along with trot kings Song Dae Kwan & Tae Jin Ah, CNBLUE‘s Lee Jonghyun, and ‘Respond 1997‘ couple Seo In Guk & A Pink‘s Eunji.

It was here that MC Go Hyun Jung admitted she thought there would be a twist in the ‘Phantom’ drama because of G.O.’s ambiguous facial expressions.

Hearing this, G.O. confessed that often times when he received the script, he didn’t understand a lot of the terminology such as ‘steganography‘, which made it difficult for him to understand the scenario as a whole, and in turn, difficult to display the appropriate emotions.

G.O. also remarked that veteran actor So Ji Sub shared an acting secret with him, discouraging G.O. from wearing short-sleeve t-shirts because bare skin doesn’t look too attractive on camera.

CNBLUE’s Minhyuk shares selcas to mark the end of ‘You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly’

CNBLUE‘s Minhyuk shared a few selcas on his Twitter account to mark the end of KBS‘s ‘You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly‘.

In the pictures, Minhyuk shared cuts with fellow actors Yoo Joon Sang, Kim Won Jun, and Kwak Dong Yeon, as well as a group shot with the other actors from the show.

He tweeted, “The 8-month shooting for ‘You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly’ has ended… I’m sad but it was a fun last showing! It’s too bad I couldn’t take pictures with each actor and staff member.. I love you all!“.

CNBLUE will be holding a concert in London in September. They will also begin promotions in Japan and also hold a concert there in October.

A Pink’s Eunji makes CNBLUE’s Jonghyun cry?

CNBLUE‘s Jonghyun shed tears on the September 7th airing of SBS‘s ‘Go Show‘ because of A Pink‘s Eunji.

This week’s episode of the show took on the format of a movie audition and featured the theme ‘You Have to Stand Out to Live’. This episode featured guests Seo In Guk, Jonghyun, MBLAQ‘s G.O, and trot legends Song Dae Gwan and Tae Jin Ah.

One segment of the show featured a staring contest among the guests.

Jonghyun stated, “I’m confident in staring contests. I can win if I have the tenacity“. He then continued, “Don’t try this at home, kids” and easily beat G.O. and Seo In Guk, continuing into the final match with Eunji.

Eunji didn’t give up easily, unblinking, while Jonghyun stared back with tears wildly running his cheeks. His tears surprised everyone on the set of the show, but Eunji eventually blinked first. Jonghyun, still teary-eyed, made everyone laugh when he repeated to himself, “I can win if I have the tenacity“.

The MC’s commented jokingly, “We can make a video out of this. We’ll make it a love triangle between Seo In Guk, Eunji, and Jonghyun“.

CNBLUE reveals their wish to be the next ‘Gentlemen’s Class’ group + tops Oricon Weekly Chart

CNBLUE recently revealed their wish to become the handsome four member gang from SBS‘ hit drama ‘Gentlemen’s Class‘.

CNBLUE appeared as guests on tvN‘s ‘Baek Ji Yeon’s People Inside‘ and spoke about their thoughts on music, acting, and stories behind their debut. The group also revealed, “We want to be like the four lead male actors in ‘Gentlemen’s Class’.”

They even assigned each other with roles for each character. Yonghwa was chosen to play Kim Do Jin (Jang Geun Suk), Jonghyun was chosen as Lim Tae San (Kim Soo Ro), Minhyuk as Choi Yoon (Kim Min Jong), and Jungshin as Lee Jong Rok (Lee Jong Hyuk) and formed the group, ‘Gentlemen’s Class In Their 20s’.

Yonghwa also revealed how he persuaded Jonghyun, who was hesitant about his accent, to take the role as Collin in the drama by telling him, “Then don’t do it. If You don’t do it, I will tell the agency and have me in that role instead”, revealing his love for the drama.

Additionally, CNBLUE‘s third Japanese album ‘Code Name Blue‘ which was released back on August 29th has topped Oricon’s Weekly Album Chart!

The album sold a total of 45,151 copies for the week which was good enough to place it on top over AKB48‘s ‘1830m‘ album.

CNBLUE would like to enlist in the military together as a band

K-Pop rock band CNBLUE shared their thoughts on enlisting in the Korean military.

CNBLUE had their very first independent talk show appearance on tvN‘s ‘Baek Ji Yeons People Inside‘, and it was here that the boys who are now in their early 20′s talked about growing older, and shared their thoughts on serving in the Korean military.

“We looked into it, and it turns out that you can enlist as a band,” the boys said. “If possible, we would like to go together.”

They added, “Because we’re a band, it’s hard even if one person is missing. If we enlist altogether, we can hold a performance as soon as we are discharged.”

In addition to doing music, the boys are also trying their hand at acting. Lee Jonghyun officially began walking the path of an actor through his role in the recently concluded drama, ‘Gentlemen’s Dignity‘. Jonghyun, however, hesitated accepting the role at first because of his dialect.

But leader Jung Yonghwa who sensed his hesitation challenged Jonghyun by telling him, “Then don’t do it. If you don’t, I’m going to tell the agency so that I can do it instead.”

Jonghyun admitted that Yonghwa came on strong, and was extremely straightforward. “He told me that I would regret it for the rest of my life, so I should do whatever I wanted,” he said.

The boys also talked about the events that led up to their debut, their Japanese promotions, and also about their upcoming debut in the UK.

CNBLUE’s Jungshin reveals, “Yonghwa and Jonghyun share underwear”

CNBLUE‘s Lee Jungshin revealed Yonghwa and Jonghyun‘s ‘unique’ relationship.

On the September 6th broadcast of tvN‘s ‘Baek Ji Yeon’s People Inside‘, Jonghyun revealed that there were some small arguments that took place within the group because of things like tidiness and laundry.

“Yonghwa hyung and I are kind of messy, while the other two members are extremely neat,” Jonghyun said.

Jungshin then chimed in revealing a dorm secret saying, “Yonghwa hyung and Jonghyun hyung even shared underwear for two years,” causing everyone to burst out into laughter.

The boys then began to talk about their dreams, and Yonghwa stated that when he was young, his dream was to rank on the Billboard Charts. “We thought he was joking at first,” his fellow members said. “But he was being serious, and at one point, we realized that we needed to help him.”

CNBLUE members support Jungshin on the set of ‘My Daughter Soyoung’

CNBLUE‘s Jungshin is making his debut as an actor in the upcoming drama, ‘My Daughter Soyoung‘.

Jungshin finished the drama’s first filming on September 5 KST, and not only did many of his loyal fans come to support him, but his fellow members (Yonghwa, Jonghyun, and Minhyuk) arrived on set to show their support as well.

Jungshin shared a photo of him with his members and tweeted, “Everyone~ I finished my first filming of ‘My Daughter Soyoung’! First off I’d like to thank my fans who waited for me until late at night. [Thanks for the hard work.] Although I am lacking in skill, because of you guys, I was able to film in a good mood. I’d also like to thank my members who came even though they are very busy! All the staff members worked very very hard as well.”

‘My Daughter Soyoung’ tells the story of the love-hate relationship between a father and his daughter. Make sure to check out the drama’s premiere on the 15th.

CNBLUE’s Japanese album ‘Code Name Blue’ tops Oricon Chart

On August 29th, CNBLUE released their third Japanese album ‘Code Name Blue‘. This album is their first album under major record label, Warner Music Japan.

By selling 21,982 units on the first day of sales, the result was good enough to top the Oricon Daily Chart.

CNBLUE reveals the member that acts differently around fans + member with the worst sleeping habits

CNBLUE‘s Minhyuk commented on leader Yonghwa‘s two personalities on the August 26th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Section TV‘.

In the broadcast, the members jokingly picked on Yonghwa and explained that he acts differently in front of fans. Minhyuk stated, while cautiously keeping an eye out on Yonghwa’s reaction, “Yonghwa hyung is good at playing cool [in front of the fans]“, making the rest of the members laugh.

The members also revealed the member with the worst sleeping habits on the show. Yonghwa ratted out, “Jungshin complains out loud in his sleep“, drawing attention from fans.

Minhyuk is currently making a name for himself as an actor on ‘You Who Rolled in Unexpectedly‘, while Jungshin has landed a role on the upcoming drama ‘My Daughter Soyoung‘.

CNBLUE’s Minhyuk is charismatic in his latest pictorial for ‘Allure’

Pictures from CNBLUE Minhyuk‘s pictorial for ‘Allure‘ have been revealed.

Minhyuk, who has been receiving much love for his role as Cha Se Kwang on ‘You Who Rolled in Unexpectedly‘, showed a more serious and charismatic image which contrasts with the youthful and upbeat character he plays in his drama.

The singer turned actor has been showing his improved acting skills as well as his increasing masculine charms in the drama as his character falls deeper in love with Bang Mal Sook (played by Oh Yeon Seo). He expressed his thoughts on the drama’s main character Bang Gui Nam (played by Yoo Joon Sang), saying, “Bang Gui Nam is the closest to my image of a the ideal man. If I find a girl I like, I am confident that I will treat her even better than how Gui Nam treats Yoon Hee.”

He also discussed his thoughts on the importance of maintaining a strong bond within CNBLUE and focusing on music as he stated, “I don’t have intentions of breaking our band’s equilibrium for my fame.”

CNBLUE’s Yonghwa and Jungshin feel short next to female Olympic volleyball players

CNBLUE‘s Jungshin and Yonghwa snapped a photo with two Olympic volleyball players.

On August 22nd, Jungshin posted the photo above via CNBLUE’s official Twitter page and wrote, “Reporting for the first time in a while that I am alive and well! A little late, but I am [still uploading this picture].”

In the photo, Jungshin and fellow bandmate Yonghwa are posing beside Olympic volleyball players Kim Yeon Kyung and Yang Hyo Jin. Despite the fact that the CNBLUE members are pretty tall themselves, the girls bent their knees for a photo with them.

“This is the first time ladies had to bend down to take a photo with us,” Jungshin continued. “Yonghwa hyung and I are bending too, but… Kim Yeon Kyung and Yang Hyo Jin, we will never forget this...”

The guitarist then added, “I’m just joking. We will always cheer you guys on. All the Olympic athletes worked extremely hard.”

Although Jungshin stands at a tall 187cm (6’1″) and Yonghwa stands at 180cm (5’11″), the boys’ heights appeared to be average when posing side-by-side with the girls who stand at well over 6 feet.

Netizens who came across the photos remarked, “How tall are the girls that they made the boys look bad?”, “Poor boys look short next to them!”, and “They still look good“.

In related news, Jungshin will be making an appearance in the new KBS2 drama ‘My Daughter Soyoung‘ scheduled to air next month.

Actress Kim Jung Nan reveals she’s a fan of G-Dragon and Onew

On August 21st, actress Kim Jung Nan appeared as a guest on SBS‘s ‘Strong Heart‘ and revealed that she was a fan of Big Bang‘s G-Dragon and SHINee‘s Onew.

The segment kicked off with her talking about working with ‘Gentlemen’s Class‘ co-star CNBLUE‘s Jonghyun, where she praised, “I didn’t have any scenes where I worked with him in the drama, but I did hear him sing live and he was so smooth and great. He’s also very mannerly and kind.”

When asked by the MCs if she liked any other idol group members, she replied, “I like Big Bang’s G-Dragon and SHINee’s Onew. I told Jonghyun about liking Onew and he called him right on the spot.”

To the amusement of the studio, she added, “I was really excited but he unfortunately didn’t pick up the call so I never got to speak with him.”

CNBLUE to perform in London

Boy band CNBLUE will hold an exclusive live concert in London, the birthplace of rock music.

“‘CNBLUE Live in London’ will be held at IndigO2 in Greenwich, which can accommodate up to 3,000 people, at 7 p.m. on Sept. 22,” CNBLUE’s agency FNC Entertainment announced. The concert is part of CJ E&M’s global concert brand, “M-Live.”

AEG, a global music entertainment presenter, will collaborate in organizing the concert. “AEG Live also collaborated in the joint concert of FT Island and CNBLUE that was held in March in L.A., and has seen the global popularity of both K-pop and CNBLUE,” said CJ E&M.

CNBLUE to hold concert in London

Rock band CNBLUE will be holding a live concert in London this September!

‘CNBLUE IN LONDON‘ will be organized by CJ E&M‘s global concert brand M-Live alongside AEG. AEG Vice President, Susan Rosenbluth, stated that she was impressed by CNBLUE and F.T. Island‘s joint concert in Los Angeles held this past March.

This is definitely another chance for CNBLUE to hit the global market. It’s been reported that the LA concert set a high record in sales and that 80% of the audience was non-Korean, so there’s a lot of anticipating about how the band will fare in London.

CNBLUE successfully concludes their set at Japan’s ‘A-Nation Music Week’

Rock band CNBLUE recently performed at Japan’s annual A-Nation Music Week alongside big names in the Japanese rock scene.

Starting on August 3rd in Tokyo’s Yoyogi National Gymnasium, the A-Nation Music Week went on for 9 days, calling all music fans to support some of the biggest acts in Japan. The ‘Rock Nation’ set, which is geared towards fans of rock music in particular, concluded the festival on August 12th. CNBLUE was among the many musicians, such as singer Tsuchiya Anna and bands SADS and VAMPS, included in the lineup.

The boys were met with loud cheers from the moment they were on stage. Many of the audience participated during their performance, singing along to hit after hit and screaming out the members’ names.

“It’s such an honor for us to be a part of such a great festival,” said CNBlue, “We’re so happy to be here, thank you for this opportunity!”

CNBLUE’s Lee Jungshin to make his acting debut through ‘My Daughter Soyoung’

CNBLUE‘s Lee Jungshin has been cast to play a main character in the upcoming KBS weekend drama, ‘My Daughter Soyoung‘.

The new drama, scheduled for broadcast after ‘You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly‘, will be directed by PD Yoo Hyun Gi, who also directed ‘God of Study‘ and ‘Brain‘. The plot will revolve around a distant father and his daughter.

“Lee Jungshin has been receiving calls from many dramas,” said FNC Entertainment. “He has spent a lot of time studying acting. He also wants to act very much and has a strong attitude [towards acting]. Please look forward to it.”

With this new development, all of the CNBLUE members – Jung Yonghwa, Lee Jonghyun, and Kang Minhyuk - will have acting experience.

‘My Daughter Soyoung’ will air its first episode on September 15th.

CNBLUE’s Yonghwa produced 17 songs in just first half of the year

It’s been reported that CNBLUE member Yonghwa had produced 17 songs in the first half of the year alone.

Yonghwa’s producing talent was acknowledged when he gifted his song “Stupid” to FNC Music‘s rookie singer Juniel, and also when he gave his “Love is Only You” to the agency’s rookie girl group AOA who just debuted on July 30th.

In addition, CNBLUE’s upcoming first Japanese full-length album holds 9 of Yonghwa’s self produced songs. Their 3rd mini album, ‘Ear Fun‘, released in March also held five of Yonghwa’s songs.

According to FNC, Yonghwa had been consistently working on producing new songs in between his busy schedule and is currently working on producing new songs for CNBLUE’s next album.

Meanwhile, CNBLUE released their third single ‘Come On‘ in Japan on August 1st. They will really buckle down and target Japan’s music scene with the release of their first Japanese full-length album’Code Name Blue‘ on August 29th.

CNBLUE member Yonghwa’s self-produced song “One Time” gets featured on American news

CNBLUE is receiving attention for their song  appearing on American news.

The August 3rd broadcast of ‘WPSD Local 6‘ morning news covered the story of USA women gymnastics team winning the gold medal and used CNBLUE’s “One Time” as the background music.

As the song was playing, the subtitles read ‘CNBLUE- One Time’ and the news anchor also introduced the song as she said,”The song playing now is CNBLUE’s ‘One Time’.”

The part of the song added into the news had the lyrics of “One day I’ll show you I can be the world’s best,” which suited the story of the women gymnastics team winning the gold medal at the Olympics.

Yonghwa produced “One Time” himself, and it was also used as the title song of CNBLUE’s first Japanese single ‘The Way‘ which was released back in 2010. In addition, the song had ranked 11th on Oricon’s Daily Chart at the time of its release.

Past ‘M! Countdown’ hosts send congratulatory wreaths for the show’s 300th episode

Past MCs of ‘M! Countdown‘ have been gaining attention for the witty congratulatory wreaths they sent in for the celebration of the show’s 300th episode.

To start, M! Countdown’s first generation MC, TVXQ‘s Yunho, sent a wreath with a message saying, “U KNOW? It’s already M! Countdown’s 300th episode!” and proudly signed it, “I am the [show's] first generation MC, U-Know Yunho.”

The members of Super Junior who also hosted the program in the past sent their own humorous wreath using the lyrics to their song, “Sexy, Free & Single“. It read, “Run ’til you’re out of breath, So awesome, M! Countdown’s 300th episode.” The boys then signed it, “I am the pretty great MC, SuJu.”

And CNBLUE‘s Minhyuk who served as an MC back in 2010 sent a wreath and wrote, “Surpass the 300th episode and on to the 3,000th episode, GOGOGO,” and he signed his with, “Minhyuk who rolled in unexpectedly♥,” using the title of drama ‘You Who Rolled in Unexpectedly‘ where he is currently playing the role of Kim Nam Joo‘s younger brother Cha Sae Kwang.

Meanwhile, the artists who performed on the 300th episode special of ‘M! Countdown’ included BoA, Super Junior, B2ST,  Wooyoung, SISTAR, A Pink, Jang Jae In, Shin Yong Jae, Muzie, Juniel, B.A.P, Rhythm Power, A-JAX, D Unit, and Park Moo Jin.

The #1 K-Chart win on the 300th episode special ultimately went to B2ST. You can watch the performances here.
