’2012 Korean Music Wave Festival’ in Incheon canceled + fans of Super Junior’s Leeteuk concerned

The 4th annual ‘2012 ‘Korean Music Wave Festival‘, which was scheduled to take place on September 15th at the World Cup Stadium in Incheon, has unfortunately been canceled.

HH Company, the event’s organizer, posted the announcement and apology onto the Korean Wave Festival’s official website stating the cancellation was due to expenses. The sudden cancellation has left many fans angered and disappointed as it would have invited numerous well-known idol groups such as KARA, Super Junior, F.T. Island, B.A.P, ZE:A, Boyfriend, Girl’s Day, Rainbow, A Pink, and more.

Fans of Super Junior’s Leeteuk, in particular, have expressed their concern as this event would have been Leeteuk’s last stage performance before enlisting in the military later this year.

One fan commented, “I heard Leeteuk prepared a lot for this as it would probably be his last stage performance before enlisting. This is disappointing.” Another wrote, “We won’t be able to see Leeteuk for the next two years. I’m shocked by the cancellation.”

Aside from fans of Super Junior, other fandoms expressed their disappointment saying, “If it was going to be like this, you guys shouldn’t have announced the event to begin with” and “Think about everybody who had been waiting for the concert to take place. Please just continue with the concert.”

HH Company will be issuing refunds to those who purchased tickets.

2PM’s Wooyoung and G.NA take cute ‘couple’ selcas

2PM‘s Wooyoung and G.NA took a couple of cute “couple” selcas together.

G.NA posted to her Twitter on September 8, “Jeju Island has great weather! It’s hot. I took a photo with Wooyoung for the first time in a long while! Today, with other solo artists. [There aren't that many of us]! Haha. Let’s ‘fighting’ on our stages today! Please give us lots of love and support.” 2AM‘s Jo Kwon saw the tweet and responded, “Me too! Arrived in Jeju!”

Fans and netizens commented, “It’s good to see the friendly relationship between Wooyoung and G.NA,” “The two should date,” “Their faces are small so their sunglasses look huge,” and “The selca looks like a photo shoot.”

In related news, the ‘K-pop Nature+‘ concert in Jeju Island was held on September 8 KST. Performers included G.NA, BoA, SHINee, 2AM, 2PM‘s Wooyoung, T-ara, ZE:A, EXO-K, Nine Muses, and A Pink among others.

2PM’s Taecyeon shares photos from Rome, Italy

2PM‘s Taecyeon recently tweeted a couple photos from Rome, Italy!

The singer recently posted the photo above taken at the Colosseum and wrote, “Guess where I am?”

Not only did fans display their envy upon seeing the photo, but his fellow members did as well. Wooyoung responded to Taec’s tweet writing, “Jealous… reminds me of Maximus TT_TT,” while Jun.K wrote, “Film a movie there while you’re at it,” and maknae Chansung responded with, “Lucky T_TT.”

Taecyeon then later posted a photo of his meal (below) and wrote, “Currently eating at the dining establishment recommended by the blogs kekeke I was surprised that the employee recognized me as soon as I walked in, and I was surprised again at how good the food was kekekeke.”

It’s good to see that the singer is enjoying some much deserved time off!

BeBe Mignon’s Haegeum reveals she received confessions from five male idols

On the most recent episode of ‘Strong Heart‘, BeBe Mignon‘s Haegeum revealed that she had received confessions from 5 idol stars.

When asked if anyone had expressed interest in her, she answered “yes” then further revealed that not just one, but five male idols had tried to woo her.

The singer continued, “There was one person the same age as me that I was interested in. However, there were rumors that he was known as a player in the entertainment industry so my friends persuaded me not to [act on my feelings]. They told me ‘Someone else I know came to me about the same issue a few days ago’.”

In response to Haegeum’s confession, Super Junior‘s Leeteuk revealed a long list of possible 89er male idols which included B2ST‘s Junhyung, Doojoon, and Hyunseung, SHINee‘s Onew, 2AM‘s Jokwon, 2PM‘s Wooyoung, CNBLUE‘s Yonghwa, 4Men‘s Shin Yong Jae, Big Bang‘s Daesung, U-KISS‘s Soohyun, ZE:A‘s Junyoung and Heechul, and INFINITE‘s Sungkyu.

Sunmi joins ‘JYP girls’ at the ‘JYP Nation’ concert after party

A picture of Wonder Girls and miss A together was recently revealed.

On August 4th, Wonder Girls’ Lim shared the above photo as she tweeted,”JYP Girls ~~~~.” The revealed picture seemed to be from the after party celebrating the successful finish of the ‘JYP Nation‘ concert.

In addition to the Wonder Girls, miss A, 2AM‘s Jo Kwon, 2PM‘s Wooyoung, even Sunmi posed for the picture, next to Yenny.

After viewing the picture, the netizens seemed to be happy to see Sunmi with the JYP family and commented, “Now, the Wonder Girls are a 6 member system“, “Sunmi it’s nice to see you“, and “Jo Kwon and Wooyoung are JYP girls too?”

Meanwhile, JYP Entertainment‘s singers successfully held their ‘JYP Nation’ concert on the 4th and will continue their tour on the coming 18th and 19th in Japan.

2PM’s Wooyoung reveals the secret behind his chiseled body

On the July 31st broadcast of KBS Drama‘s ’Beauty Queen‘, 2PM‘s Wooyoung revealed the secret to maintaining his chiseled body.

Wooyoung was selected as the top ‘beastly’ idol during the ‘Beauty Paparazzi’ corner of the show, and the singer who previously graced the cover of Men’s Health to display his flawless, muscular body that juxtaposed his adorable appearance once again drew attention from viewers.

“I eat well, and I drink water very often,” Wooyoung explained. “More than anything, I think it’s important to break a sweat.”

Inactive Wonder Girls member Sunmi takes a picture with 2PM

A recent picture of inactive Wonder Girls member Sunmi is gaining interest amongst fans.

The picture was posted today on an online community website with the title ‘Recent Picture of Sunmi‘.

In the picture you can see Sunmi posing alongside 2PM members Junho, Wooyoung, Chansung and Taecyeon, in addition to the JYPE dance team. With her hair dyed in a wine color and her flawless skin, fans are at awe with her never changing beauty.

Back in January of 2010, Sunmi decided to leave the Wonder Girls to pursue her education. While she has been attending Dongguk University, she has also been in and out of the JYP Entertainment offices practicing as a trainee. So far it remains to be seen when Sunmi will return to the music industry.

2PM’s Wooyoung suffered from burns after dyeing his hair 15 times

2PM member Wooyoung recently revealed the struggles he faced while preparing for his solo debut.

On the July 31st broadcast of KBS‘s ‘1 vs. 100‘, celebrity Hong Jin Kyung and Wooyoung made appearances on the show to go against the 100 competitors.

During the episode, Wooyoung revealed the following for his solo transformation, “I dyed my hair 15 times. I thought it would only take maybe 2 times but that wasn’t the case. Because of the repeated dyeing, I suffered burns at the back of my head.”

The singer continued, “I completed my transformation after healing my burn scars with ointment.”

The 100 competitor roster on this episode included celebrities such as, Producer Lee Hye Young, designer Ha Sang Baek, Yang Bae Chu, Nam Chang Hee, Kim In Suk, ‘One Hundred‘, and others.

Idol stars who are often mistaken as the youngest member of their group

The above collage of idol stars recently surfaced on an online community board, and is becoming a hot topic of conversation amongst netizens.

Seeing the post titled ‘Idol stars who are often mistaken for maknaes‘, fans began discussing the group members who look young for their age, sometimes even younger than their team’s actual maknaes.

The top choice was B2ST‘s Yoseob. The singer who turned 23 in Korea boasts a baby face and is often mistaken as the youngest member of his group. Likewise, 2NE1‘s Sandara Park (Dara) who was born in 1984 turns 29 in Korea this year, however, her age is not obvious, even when standing side by side with group maknae Minzy who is ten years her junior.

T-ara‘s eldest member Boram is often mistaken as the youngest member thanks to her petite frame, while 2PM‘s Wooyoung is actually a year older than youngest member Chansung. KARA‘s Seungyeon is actually 6 years older than Jiyoung.

Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon also looks extremely young for her age, and is often mistaken as the youngest member of her group.

Netizens who came across this post left responses such as, “They all look like the youngest members“, “These members are actually a lot older than I thought“, and more.

Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon has never dated a celebrity

On the July 28th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2‘, Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon briefly talked about her relationship experiences.

2PM‘s Wooyoung was a special guest on this week’s episode as a part-time employee at the ‘Youth Lodge House’. The singer teamed up with MC Lee Young Ja, Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon, and KARA‘s Jiyoung to make Korean samgetang for the next guests staying at the house.

In the middle of cooking, MC Lee Young Ja asked Wooyoung, “You revealed that you were approached by three female stars in the past, is this true?”

Wooyoung very honestly answered, “Yes, this is true. I have been approached.”

Lee Young Ja then asked, “Are there any of the G5 members that approached you?”, causing Wooyoung to hesitate momentarily but he didn’t answer. Then Lee Young Ja went to Hyoyeon to ask in jest if she could be one of the ones that asked him out, Hyoyeon immediately refuted, “Absolutely not. I’ve never dated another celebrity before.”

Wooyoung then added that an older actress had asked him out but he wasn’t ready for a relationship at the time.

2PM’s Wooyoung was asked out by an older actress?

2PM‘s Wooyoung revealed that he’s been asked out by an older actress on the July 28th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2‘.

Wooyoung shared, “I’ve gotten asked out by an older actress before. The actress asked me, ‘Do you want to date?’, but I wasn’t ready for it, so I turned her down.”

He was then asked about a previous statement he made about being approached by three idol singers. MC Lee Young Ja commented, “I really think that Hyoyeon asked you out.”

The Girls’ Generation member responded, “That never happened,” while KARA‘s Jiyoung added, “Today’s the first time I’ve talked to him.”

2PM’s Wooyoung reveals his close friendship with Nichkhun

On the recording of SBS E!‘s ‘TV Cultwo Show‘, 2PM‘s Wooyoung who recently made his solo debut, revealed his close friendship with fellow member Nichkhun.

During the filming of the show, viewers were able to send messages to the guests and one fan wrote, “I went to a meat restaurant and when I saw Nichkhun and Wooyoung checking each other’s teeth, I was surprised. I thought to myself that these two seem to be really close”, to which the DJ asked Wooyoung for the truth on this matter.

Wooyoung responded, “It’s become a habit for us to take care of each other. Before we go on a broadcast, we check each other and even on stage, we check each other.” To which host Jung Chan Woo responded, “That’s what lovers typically do”, making Wooyoung embarrassed.

This episode featuring Wooyoung is set air on the 26th.

2PM’s Wooyoung discusses who has the best body in 2PM

Hard work doesn’t lie! 2PM may have always held title of the idol group with the best bodies, but this is because 2PM members work hard and compete against themselves to maintain their bodies.

In Korea, the best indicator of the hottest male entertainers is the cover of Men’s Health magazine: 2PM members Wooyoung, Nichkhun, Chansung, and Taecyeon have all been featured as cover models in the past. This year, Wooyoung beat out other stars like Lee Joon, Dongjun, baseball players Choo Shin Soo and Lee Seung Yeob, Taecyeon, comedian Yoon Hyung Bin, and even actor Cha Seung Won, in the 7th Men’s Health Cool Guy competition, and was featured in the July edition of the magazine.

Even with his new title, Wooyoung selected Nichkhun as the member with the best body in 2PM, as he said, “Nichkhun has experience with Muay Thai (a Thai combat sport). He has muscles that you can’t make from just working out. Chansung works the hardest for his body. Among 2PM members, Chansung exercises the most.” He also said that Junsu focuses more on being well-balanced and healthy, rather than only working out.

Wooyoung continued, “Members watch their diets carefully for about 2 weeks, before a photo shoot. If we eat the way we regularly do, it breaks the balance in our bodies and makes it harder to create a nice shape. We watch our diets for 2-3 weeks when we need to.”

This month, Wooyoung has been promoting his new solo album, ‘23, Male, Single‘ with his title song, ‘Sexy Lady‘.

Wooyoung prepares pastries for his fans at ‘Inkigayo’

2PM‘s Jang Wooyoung, who is currently active as a solo artist, shared a proof-shot photo of the presents he will be handing out to a number of lucky fans.

On the morning of July 15th, the singer tweeted the photo above along with a post that read, “Rainy Sunday morning. These are the presents for the fans who came early in the morning to cheer me on. This is daebak. This is Jang bbang. Enjoy ♥.” (‘Bbang’ means ‘bread’ in Korean.)

Wooyoung is seen in the photo standing beside a table pilled with packaged bread, ready to be handed out to a number of his fans who attended the pre-recording at SBS‘s ‘Inkigayo‘.

2PM’s Wooyoung to hold his first official stage for ‘Sexy Lady’ on ‘M! Countdown’

2PM‘s Wooyoung who recently made his solo debut will have his first official performance on today’s ‘M! Countdown‘.

“Sexy Lady“ is an electronic dance track that portrays the feelings of a man towards a sexy woman that he becomes crazy about. The ‘Sexy Lady’ MV has also grabbed attention with Wooyoung’s stylish fashion, and clean dance moves.

Wooyoung stated, “I worked hard on this album, and I tried my best to create the best performance. I am very excited for my debut performance [as a solo artist]. I promise to not disappoint my fans with a great performance. Thank you.”

With support pouring in from fans and fellow member Taecyeon with his “Sexy Wooyoung” support song, Wooyoung will be take to the stage with confidence.

2PM’s Wooyoung to make his “Sexy Lady” solo debut through his showcase

2PM‘s Wooyoung will be putting on his first live performance of “Sexy Lady” through his solo showcase.

The showcase was planned out because Woo Young wanted to display is solo stage to his fans first. It will be held on the 9th with the fans that were chosen through the ‘Melon’ event.

The hour-long show will consist of Woo Young’s solo performances and video footages of his preparation for his solo debut. Comedian Shin Bora will take on the role of the MC for Woo Young’s showcase.

Woo Young stated, “Even before this solo album, we [2PM members] always wanted to put on new performances for our fans first. I worked really hard so hopefully everyone will be able to enjoy my music and stage. Thank you.“

Wooyoung impressed by Jo Kwon’s high heel performance

2PM‘s Wooyoung, who recently released his first solo album ‘23, Male, Single‘, spoke up regarding 2AM member Jo Kwon and his high heel performance of “Animal“.

The singer sat down with TV Report for a brief interview on July 6th to discuss his album, his transformation into a solo artist, and more. Wooyoung began by saying, “I was shocked when I first saw Jo Kwon’s high heel performance. I don’t think I’d be able to do that since I’m too scared.”

Jo Kwon made his solo debut with ‘I’m Da One‘ on June 25th and impressed many by wearing a staggering 19.5 cm pair of high heels for his performance of “Animal”.

He continued, “The high heel performance seemed very dangerous, but he was able to easily pull it off because he’s Jo Kwon. There’s a high possibility of twisting your ankle in the process, so I don’t think I’d be able to perform while wearing high heels.”

Wooyoung then shared the promise he made with the 2AM member saying, “Jo Kwon and I are very close friends, so we try not to discuss our albums. Whatever the results are, we agreed to just root for each other.”

“Solo activities are burdensome, but I believe that if you do your best without any regrets, then everything is fine.”

Wooyoung released his first solo album on the 8th and is scheduled to hold his stage performance on the July 12th broadcast of Mnet‘s ‘M!Countdown‘.
