B2ST signs contract to appear on ‘Weekly Idol’ again for next album release

Back in December, B2ST member Doojoon signed an official contract, promising that B2ST would feature on ‘Weekly Idol‘ when B2ST would released their next album. He followed through on this promise as B2ST appeared on the last two episodes of ‘Weekly Idol’.

To reaffirm their next appearance on the show, it seems ‘Weekly Idol’ hilariously had each of the members sign an additional contract as well. The photo below was recently posted via Weekly Idol’s official Twitter with the words, “The highlight of today’s program! We could not simply send B2ST away like this, so in the end, we were able to happily end by obtaining two documents! What innocent young men they are ^_^ Is is true that you have a year-end comeback?

The actual contract read, ‘Weekly Idol Appearance Document – Because we feel our film session today was unfortunately short, we B2ST promise to gladly give one day of our next album promotions to ‘Weekly Idol’. We stress that the above conditions are not a penalty, but most definitely an award.’

The contract was then dated, and each of the members stamped their fingerprints to make it official. Don’t think any of the B2UTIES will mind seeing more of the boys!

B2ST’s Junhyung has a fat tongue?

B2ST‘s rapper Junhyung‘s nickname was recently revealed to be ‘Tongue Fatty‘ on the September 5th episode of MBC every1‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘, giving everyone on the set a good laugh.

During the ‘Rewritten Profile’ segment of the show, the ‘Tongue Fatty’ nickname was found on Junhyung’s profile, surprising MC’s Hyungdon and Defconn. Junhyung asked, “When you wake up in the morning, don’t you feel like your tongue is swollen?“, to which MC Hyungdon responded, “My tongue is always swollen, so I wouldn’t know“.

The writers of the show then produced a ruler and MC Hyungdon compared the thickness of his tongue to that of Junhyung’s. He commented, surprised by the difference, “You could use this as an individual talent on variety shows“, making everyone laugh.

‘Weekly Idol’ hits highest ratings with B2ST

B2ST guest starred on ‘Weekly Idol‘ and the show achieved a personal record for highest viewer ratings.

According to TNmS Media Korea, this week’s episode had an average rating of 1.08%, which is the highest recording rating for the show. At it’s peak viewership, the show hit a rating of 1.727%, recording the highest rating on cable TV for the day.

In order to fulfill his promise with Jung Hyun Don, Doojoon along with his other members came in to record the show as soon as they released their new single. Showing off their unique charms and wit, the boys once again showed the audience their talent.

From the start of the show, B2ST and ‘Weekly Idols’ constantly ranked at the top of searched terms on search engines and the interest continued after the show’s end. Searches like ‘Kikwang’s height’ and ‘Hyunseung and Junhyung’s couple dance’ continued to top the search lists.

B2ST’s special appearance on ‘Weekly Idol’ has been split into two episodes and the second episode will air next week, September 5, at 6 pm KST.

B2ST members insult leader Doojoon on Weekly Idol

On ‘Weekly Idol‘, the members of B2ST took turns with a few insults on leader Doojoon.

Yoseob flustered Doojoon by stating, “If (Doojoon) tries to make us laugh, and we don’t, his fists come up first. Lately Doojoon has been going to acting school and he’s using what he learns on us“.

At this confession, the MCs suggested a game of “You’re right“. The “You’re right” game is where one person says anything they wish and the other has to reply “You’re right”.

The game started with Yoseob, who spilled more of Doojoon’s secrets. “Doojoon, do you remember? Do you remember hitting me earlier for not laughing?“, “Do you remember hitting me in the head with a soccer ball?“, “Do you remember borrowing money from me?” and more causing laughter to fill the studio.

Junhyung followed up and said, “Do you know you’re not funny lately? After ‘Sweet Rain’ it was over for you“.  Kikwang asked, “Our Doojoon, you try so hard at acting but do you know it’s kind of awkward?” shocking Doojoon. However the greatest laughter came from maknae Dongwoon when he said, “You know most people think of Kikwang when you say B2ST?”

With the members burying their leader, more laughter followed throughout the show. And with another episode next week, fans can’t wait for more.

B2ST’s Kikwang defends his height on ‘Weekly Idol’

B2ST‘s Kikwang explained the truth behind rumors that say he’s shorter than 170cm (5’6″).

On the recent broadcast of MBC Every1‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘, Kikwang, who’s been given nicknames such as “midget” and “kid”, stated, “Portal site profiles say that I’m 170.8cm (5’7″). In reality, I’m sure I’m taller than 170cm. I’m actually still growing right now.”

MC Defconn responded, “I feel like you’re taller than last year,” comforting Kikwang. Jung Hyung Don, however, was a bit skeptical after comparing his height to member Doojoon, who’s 177cm (5’10″) tall.

The truth about Kikwang’s height and an investigation into B2ST’s profile data will air on August 29th at 6PM KST.

Big Bang’s Seungri chosen as the next successful idol CEO

Big Bang‘s Seungri has been chosen as the next idol CEO to make it big in the business world.

During this week’s ‘Weekly Idol‘, idol members voted on the topic, “The idol CEO who is most likely to become successful as an entrepreneur.” The survey didn’t restrict the voting to just idols who are already CEOs, but also included the option of picking those who seem like they would become good businessmen.

The idol that came in at #1 was revealed to be Seungri, who has always shown interest in the business aspect of things. Having set up a music and dance academy in his hometown last year, the idol has already become a CEO, and with his business minded ways he has also shown his interest in managing Big Bang.

Other stars who made the top 7 were JYJ‘s Jaejoong, Kim Hyun Joong, BoA, and more.

B2ST’s Doojoon follows through on his promise with Jung Hyung Don

B2ST has followed through on their promise to make an appearance on MBC‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘.

Back on December 31st 2011, Doojoon signed a contract with Jung Hyung Don. The memorandum stated, “I, Yoon Doojoon accept the invitation of Doni hyung, who I love, with a happy heart and promise to make an appearance on ‘Weekly Idol’ with the rest of the B2ST members as soon as we make our comeback.”

Just as promised, on August 22nd B2ST participated in the recording of ‘Weekly Idol’ after making their long awaited comeback.

During the recording, Doojoon distributed copies of their newest CD to the two MCs and expressed, “I’m glad that I could finally keep my promise with Hyung Don hyung with the release of our newest song.”

In response Jung Hyung Don stated, “B2ST, who we have been waiting for, has finally come to visit ‘Weekly Idol’. We prepared a gift to give to B2ST”, and presented the boy group with a box of Tonkatsu from his restaurant ‘Doni Doni’.”

After School’s Joo Yeon reveals Lizzy keeps a death note

 

In the upcoming episode of ‘Weekly Idol’, After School made an appearance and revealed how Lizzy frequently stressed out the older members.

Member Uee stated, “Lizzy hasn’t been listening to anything we tell her because she says we stress her out.”

Joo Yeon also shocked everyone in the studio by stating, “We have to be careful around Lizzy these days because she is keeping a death note.” When Lizzy was asked, “Whose name do you write the most in the book?” she answered with fellow member Joo Yeon and revealed the different times she felt disappointed from her actions.

This episode of ‘Weekly Idol’ will air on the 25th.

No one disciplines After School in Kahi’s absence?

After School‘s E-Young has revealed that since leader Kahi’s departure, there is no one disciplining the junior members in the group.

The ladies recently guested on the first anniversary special of MBC Every1‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘ and talked about what it was like following Kahi’s leave. As they are a group with a variety of age groups, the topic was of much interest for both the show and the fans.

MC Jung Hyung Don asked E-Young, “I’m curious as to who disciplines the members now that Kahi is gone from the group.” She replied, “In the beginning, UEE unni told us things we should look out for, but now, there’s barely any disciplining.”

The other members agreed, adding, “Having everything ordered, like the order in which we get in the car or wash our hair, is all in the past now.”

As if to prove a point, junior member Lizzy began sharing secrets about UEE and Jooyeon without discretion!

f(x)’s Luna sets the record straight regarding her height

f(x)’s Luna vehemently argued against the rumor that her height is in the 150cm range.

On the MBC Every1 variety show ‘Weekly Idol‘ that will air on July 11th, f(x), who is currently receiving a lot of love with their hit song ‘Electric Shock‘ appeared as guests and there was a segment where they got to rewrite their profiles which have not changed since their debut.

But people were really interest in f(x) member Luna’s height and actively tried to find out what it was.

Luna said, “I am definitely over 160cm but people keep saying that I am only 151cm.  I want to verify my height here,” and slammed her hands on the table and stood up.  With people looking on, they brought out a tape measure and Jung Hyun Don measured her and said, “She definitely is over 160cm,” and cleared up the frustration she had within her.

Luna responded by saying, “I am so relieved now.  The average height of the members are at 168cm and I looked so small between them that I was so stressed,” and revealed how she felt deep within herself.

Also on the program, other things were revealed such as Amber’s hidden drawing talents, the love the members have for meat, and the idol that Luna wants to do a duet with.

‘Weekly Idol’ featuring f(x) will air on the 11th at 6:00pm KST.

Defconn and Jung Hyung Don would like to cast Big Bang and 2NE1 on ‘Weekly Idol’

Jung Hyung Don and Defconn shared their hopes of casting Big Bang and 2NE1 for their show.

During the press conference celebrating one year of MBC’s ‘Weekly idol‘, the reporters asked the two MCs which idols they would like to cast and they carefully  answered, “That’s a risky question. We want to cast everyone.”

Defconn added, “We still haven’t been able to work out a deal with YG Entertainment,” and Jung Hyung Don revealed,”I want to cast Big Bang and 2NE1.”

The two then stated humorously, “We got closer with Lee Bo Young. She is someone who takes calls for the CEO of YG. We just might start doing kakao talk.”

Meanwhile, Jung Hyung Don and Defconn not only has been emceeing ‘Weekly Idol’, but also released a duet album last month and has been receiving much love for their title song, “The Song That’s Even Worse When You Listen to it During a Bad Time“. The one year special of ‘Weekly Idol’ will air on the coming 18th and 25th.

TEEN TOP’s Niel surprises viewers with his ‘sausage lips’ after a nap

TEEN TOP‘s Niel is receiving attention for proving to the viewers that his lips puff up after he wakes up from a sleep.

TEEN TOP members guest starred on the June 27th broadcast of ‘Weekly Idol‘ and revealed the truth about the rumor of Niel having sausage lips, that puff up after sleeping.

To measure the change in lip size before and after a nap, the producers of the show prepared bedding, and Niel actually took a nap during the show. After his nap, Niel shocked the people around him including MC Defcon, who couldn’t hide his surprise after seeing Niel’s lips really puff up. The above picture is a screen capture where it shows Niel’s lips before his nap on the left and his lips after his nap on the right.

Niel attracted laughter by also adding, “When I sleep after eating ramen, my eyes don’t swell up but my lips do.”

Viewers expressed their surprise of seeing Niel’s sausage lips by commenting,”It was funny to see Jung Hyung Don immediately handing over lipstick to preserve the swelling and Niel marking his lips right after he woke up“, “I was impressed to see Niel really asleep“, and “It’s amazing that not his eyes but his lips swell up.”

Meanwhile, TEEN TOP is currently promoting their title song “To You“.

Idols choose ZE:A’s Siwan as the next top CF star

ZE:A‘s Siwan has been named the next idol to most likely follow the path of CF mega stars, like Lee Seung Gi and IU, by his fellow idols!

For the upcoming June 20th episode of MBC Every1‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘, idols were asked to vote and choose the top 10 stars they thought would dominate the CF industry with Lee Seung Gi and IU. As CF deals are a measure of popularity and wealth in the Korean entertainment industry, a number of names came up in the top 10 like A Pink‘s Na-Eun, JYJ‘s Jaejoong, INFINITE‘s L, SHINee‘s Taemin, and miss A‘s Min.

In the end, it was Siwan that came out on top thanks to the spotlight he received for his drama, ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun‘, and his clean, wholesome image in his current sitcom.

Idol members pick the idol friendships they are most envious of

‘Weekly Idol‘ revealed the idol friendships that other idols in the industry are most envious of.

During a recent shoot for an upcoming episode of ‘Weekly Idol’, top idol stars selected a few of the most envied idol friendships including one between Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk & JYJ‘s Junsu, SHINee‘s Taemin & EXO-K‘s Kai, SHINee’s ONEW & MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon, and more.

Many, regardless of gender or age, were envious of the friendship between miss A‘s Suzy and the nation’s little sister IU, remarking that they too would like to become close to the two.

But the friendship that received the most votes was the one between 4minute‘s HuynA and G.NA, who is drawing interest for her new song “2HOT‘.

The episode airs June 6th at 6PM KST on MBC.

Defconn confirms ‘Hyung Don and Dae Joon’ album

Rapper Defconn has confirmed earlier reports that he and comedian Jung Hyung Don would be releasing an album together as the duo group Hyung Don and Dae Joon.

It seems that many could not believe the news, which led Defconn to tweet on May 26, “This greeting is for all those of you who keep asking if it’s a joke and keep doubting [the news is true]. Hello! This is rookie group ‘Hyung Don and Dae Joon’.” He also attached an image of the album jacket photo.

They revealed the group on MBC Every1‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘, which Jung Hyung Don is currently hosting, but viewers responded in disbelief, leaving comments like, “Wasn’t it just a joke?”

Defconn continued, “The album took one year to create. Album producer: Hyung Don, Album composer/lyricist: Hyung Don, Genre: Gangster rap that anyone from 5 to 80 years of age can follow.”

Hyung Don and Dae Joon will have their debut performance on May 30 KST at 6PM on ‘Weekly Idol’.

Jung Hyung Don and Defconn to form a duo and release an album

‘Infinity Challenge‘s Jung Hyung Don and hip-hop artist Defconn formed a new duo!

According to MBC, the two friends will be forming a group called ‘Hyung Don and Dae Joon‘ (Dae Joon is Defconn’s Korean name) to release an album.

The duo, who have been emceeing together for MBC’s ‘Weekly Idol‘, will be having their debut stage through the show on the May 30th broadcast. On this day, Jung Hyung Don and Defconn will be revealing the choreography for songs in the album, such as ”Olympic Road” or “Don’t Listen“.

The two will be featured on the show not as MCs, but rather guests. HaHa and SISTAR‘s Soyu and Hyorin will become the MCs for the day to cheer the two on. Jung Hyung Don expressed his confidence, adding, “Even the music video is already completed“.

What nicknames did A Pink’s Hayoung make for Na-Eun and Jung Hyung Don?

On the May 23rd broadcast of MBC Every1‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘, A Pink, who recently made a comeback with their album ‘HUSH‘, displayed their spectacular variety show skills.

In one segment of this week’s episode, the MCs and the A Pink members spent their time verifying their online profile information, and it was revealed that Hayoung enjoys creating nicknames for those around her. In acknowledgment of her profile’s claim, Hayoung revealed that on behalf of Na-Eun‘s love for goguma (sweet potatoes) and tomatoes, she nicknamed her “GoTo Girl”.

After hearing this, MC Jung Hyung Don asked Hayoung to create a nickname for him, but Hayoung struggled to come up with one. However, upon noticing Jung Hyung Don’s tight-fitting pants, Hayoung nicknamed him “BaKkwak Boy”, which is a combination of bajee (pants) and kkwak (tight), embarrassing Jung Hyung Don.

On the same episode, the girls of A Pink showed a more down-to-earth side than their “fairy-like” image as they feasted on chicken legs and pizza.

Idols choose Kim Soo Hyun as the star they want most as a group member

Actor Kim Soo Hyun was voted as the star idols want most when it comes to their own group.

On May 23rd’s airing of ‘Weekly Idol‘, a survey was conducted asking idols which star they would like to add as a group member.

The staff revealed the results of the survey, and Kim Soo Hyun came in first place. The actor inherited his former rock star father’s musical talents as well as his excellent acting skills, which he showed on ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun‘. Kim Soo Hyun has received acknowledgement as both a great singer and actor.

Other celebrities who ranked on this survey are Busker Busker‘s Jang Bum Joon, actor Lee Gwang Soo, and comedian Shin Bora.

4minute’s Gayoon gets into mix-ups because of age?

4minute member Gayoon expressed confidence in her bare face.

On the May 16th episode of ‘Weekly Idol‘, the members of 4minute, who are currently promoting their track “Volume Up“, appeared as guests.

On the show, the 4minute members spoke up about rumors surrounding them in a segment called “Exclusive Scoop Idol News!”. Gayoon talked about a few different situations that have arose because of her age.

In one particular story, Gayoon said, “When I first met Lizzy from After School, I called her unnie because she was taller than me. Lizzy just accepted it too.”

Gayoon mentioned that because she does not watch much TV, there are times she meets idols whose ages she’s not aware of, which leads her to call them unnie. She continued, “I think I look old, but when I take off my makeup, I look young.”

HyunA talks about her photo shoot with Yoo Ah In

It seems even sexy idol HyunA feels shy in front of Yoo Ah In.

4minute is set to appear on the next episode of ‘Weekly Idol‘. During filming, she told some stories regarding her couple photo shoot with the actor that set the internet ablaze last month.

Jung Hyung Don, who saw the photos of HyunA and Yoo Ah In, commented, “Anyone who sees these photos will say you two are a couple.” HyunA responded, “That was the first time I saw him, and we did not really get to speak to each other. As soon as we heard ‘cut’, we just shot for the shoot. I was so shy that my face became red.”

She then sent out a video message to him promoting 4minute’s new song, “You told me that you usually like 4minute’s songs, and I hope that you enjoy ‘Volume Up‘ this time as well.”

Also on the show, 4minute spoke up about rumors in the ‘Exclusive Scoop Idol News!’ segment, and gave the real truth behind the rumors regarding the group.
