B2ST’s Kikwang pokes fun at Lee Joon’s variety show skills

B2ST member Lee Kikwang poked fun of MBLAQ Lee Joon‘s variety show talent.

During a recent shoot for MBC Music‘s ‘All the K-Pop‘, B2ST ranked their fellow idols and their level of variety show talent. The boys selected Girls’ Generation, MBLAQ, and they themselves as the idol groups that are the most successful on variety programs, and MC Park Jae Min asked the members what they thought of MBLAQ’s Lee Joon who is quickly rising as the ‘king of variety’.

Without hesitation, Lee Kikwang burst out, “Lee Joon’s variety talents are a bit overrated,” causing MBLAQ member Mir to burst out into laughter and add, “I completely concur with Kikwang’s statement,” causing everyone else on set to laugh as well.

The B2ST members also performed comical sexy dances on the spot, and did their best impressions of other celebrities, displaying that they too had impressive variety show talent.

B2ST’s Kikwang defends his height on ‘Weekly Idol’

B2ST‘s Kikwang explained the truth behind rumors that say he’s shorter than 170cm (5’6″).

On the recent broadcast of MBC Every1‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘, Kikwang, who’s been given nicknames such as “midget” and “kid”, stated, “Portal site profiles say that I’m 170.8cm (5’7″). In reality, I’m sure I’m taller than 170cm. I’m actually still growing right now.”

MC Defconn responded, “I feel like you’re taller than last year,” comforting Kikwang. Jung Hyung Don, however, was a bit skeptical after comparing his height to member Doojoon, who’s 177cm (5’10″) tall.

The truth about Kikwang’s height and an investigation into B2ST’s profile data will air on August 29th at 6PM KST.

B2ST’s Yoseob sheds tears on ‘National Talk Show Hello’

B2ST‘s Yang Yoseob shed some tears as he opened up about the difficult days he spent as a trainee.

On the August 27th broadcast of KBS2‘s ‘National Talk Show Hello‘, a 27-year-old citizen who was still working towards becoming a singer shared a few concerns about not having a stable job.

Yosoeb then remarked, “To be honest, during my trainee days before I joined B2ST, I was often rejected and I could not settle down. I was so lost.”

He continued, “But at that time, Kikwang pulled me into B2ST’s agency.” Yoseob then grabbed Kikwang’s hand and added, “Because of this, I am so grateful to Kikwang today.”

His hand tightly holding Kikwang’s, Yoseob continued to speak but suddenly dropped his head and shed the tears he was fighting back, causing everyone’s hearts to reach out to him.

B2ST’s Kikwang does not think he is popular?

B2ST member Lee Kikwang revealed that he is not as popular as others think he is.

The members of B2ST guest-featured on the August 27th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘National Talk Show Hello‘ and listened to the different concerns of the citizens.

Group member Son Dongwoon who previously shared his concern on ‘Hello’ two years ago saying he was ‘too good looking’ evoked more laughs this time around by saying, “My concern is only growing worse.”

Hearing this, fellow member Kikwang then added, “Dongwoon is very popular amongst our Arabic fans,” causing the MCs to ask Kikwang about his own popularity.

Kikwang humbly remarked that he was not very popular, causing the audience to respond in disbelief. “It’s true,” Kikwang tried to explain. “On average, Yoseob is most popular where ever we go.”

B2ST’s Junhyung makes hilarious remarks about his members on ‘B2ST on QTV’

B2ST‘s Junhyung will be bringing much laughter on the upcoming episode of ‘B2ST on QTV‘.

The idol shared some hilarious remarks as he revealed the dirt on his fellow members much to their embarrassment during a session of answering fans’ questions.

When one fan commented, “I want to check if Kikwang is really an angel or not,” Junhyung answered, “It’s an outer shell of pretense.” In addition, when Doojoon was picked as “the member who would pay for people the most”, Junhyung made Doojoon feel a bit flustered by revealing,“But later, he makes it a point to always tell people that he paid.”

Kikwang fired back, “Junyoung is stingy with complimenting others. He is more enthusiastic about pointing out their flaws and has fun with it.” Doojoon also playfully grabbed Junhyung’s collar while commenting, “He gets really excited when saying bad things about me.”

Junhyung tried to reason with the two stating, “I’m only doing this to make for a good show.” However, when he was picked as “the member you would not want to go on a vacation with” Junhyung quickly abandoned his jokes as he sulked, “I’m not going to go on a vacation~, I’m not going!”

B2ST members share their most recent concerns on ‘Show Champion’

The B2ST members have a lot to smile about these days, especially after earning a #1 K-Chart win on multiple music programs, but even these boys seemed to have their share of concerns.

B2ST who performed on MBC Music‘s ‘Show Champion‘ listened to the concerns of their fellow peers, and then shared some of their own.

Kikwang began, “I have not been getting enough sleep, so my voice cracks when I hit the high notes,” while Yoseob added, “I want to grow taller,” and Yong Junhyung remarked, “I run out of breath really easily these days.”

Member Jang Hyun Seung who admitted he ate a lot of meat these days said, “I eat beef twice a day, and I’m afraid my personality will become really vicious,” and maknae Son Dongwoon hilariously confessed, “It’s so cold here right now, I don’t know what to do with myself.”

Leader Doojoon displayed his leadership as he shared, “I want B2ST to become even more successful, and I am thinking of how we can accomplish that.”

Despite their concerns, the boys seized the ‘Champion Song’ position and proved that they are currently one of the hottest idol groups in K-Pop.

Super Junior’s Choi Siwon voted as male idol with the best body

Super Junior‘s Siwon, who’s known as an “Um-Chin-Ah” (the ideal son), has been voted as the male idol with the best body.

A cosmetic clinic recently revealed the results to a survey that had taken place between July 17th and August 2nd, asking 654 of its female customers which male idol member has a body that is just as good as South Korean swimmer Park Tae Hwan.

The results showed Super Junior’s Choi Siwon, who recently returned with the group’s 6th album, topping the list with a total of 197 (30%) votes.

Second place with 152 (23%) votes was B2ST‘s lead vocalist, Kikwang. His unexpected muscular body attracted the second most votes as he is known for his cute and youthful appearance. Trailing behind were 2PM‘s Taecyeon and ZE:A‘s Dongjun with 141 (21%) and 124 (18%) votes, respectively.

Those who voted for Siwon commented, “Choi Siwon, the man who has it all. He even has a perfect body“, “He’s handsome, tall, and even has the perfect body… He’s a living statue“, “What is there that he lacks?“, and more.

Other idols that were also chosen include JYJ‘s Jaejoong and MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon.

IU reveals she felt rivalry with Kikwang while dubbing ‘Sammy’s Adventure 2′

Singer IU revealed that she felt rivalry with B2ST‘s Kikwang while dubbing for the movie ‘Sammy’s Adventure 2‘.

IU attended the VIP screening for ‘Sammy’s Adventure 2′ recently at Seoul’s Yongsan’s CGV where she stated, “I recorded my dubbing while listening to what Kikwang did.”

She continued, “I felt somewhat of a rivalry. I think I didn’t feel that way about Kim Won Hyo sunbae because he was so natural, but I felt some rivalry with Kikwang. He did it really well. He really seemed like [the character] Ricky. I recorded while being motivated by listening to Kikwang’s recording. ”

On another note, ‘Sammy’s Adventure 2′ tells the tale of two fishes named Sammy and Ray who are caught in an aquarium in Dubai.

IU’s role is Sammy’s granddaughter ‘Ella’, Kikwang’s role is Ella’s friend ‘Ricky’, and comedian Kim Won Hyo’s role is the aquarium dictator ‘Big D’.

The movie will be hitting theaters on August 2nd.

B2ST and Psy discuss going head-to-head on music charts

At the press conference for their fifth mini-album ‘Midnight Sun‘ on the 20th, B2ST revealed that they have been enjoying Psy‘s newest tracks from ‘Gangnam Style‘.

Kikwang expressed, “We’ve been enjoying listening to Psy hyung’s songs. They’re really great. However, we are confident in our music as well.”

B2ST went up against Psy on July 15th, the release of Psy’s album and the group’s pre-release track, “Midnight“. ‘Gangnam Style’ came out on top on digital charts while “Midnight” followed closely behind.

Psy commented, “I was surprised myself because I hadn’t expected it. Since it is just a pre-release track, I don’t think it’s fair to call it a full-on battle.”

B2ST’s title track is scheduled for release on the morning of July 22nd, when they’ll be stepping away from their clean image for a more rebellious feel with “Beautiful Night”.

Yoseob stated, “I wanted to put what we learned from our world tour into the album. I learned how to have fun on stage. I feel that there haven’t been many opportunities for us to truly communicate with our fans on stage so far, as our performances have focused more on getting our choreography synchronized or shouting energetically on our own. We lacked communication with the audience, so that’s what [we] wanted to focus on this time. [We] want to show that we, too, are free-spirited men who know what being cool is.”

As of the 21st KST, Psy is leading on major digital charts like Melon and Mnet.

B2ST releases album cover photos for Hyunseung, Yoseob, and Kikwang!

Having unveiled a variety of teasers and hints along with the pre-release of “Midnight“, B2ST is back with two new photos featuring Hyunseung, Yoseob, and Kikwang!

The revealed photos are photos from their album jacket and once again show the 180 degree transformations of the members much like the previous photos released yesterday.

The playful poses depicted in the photos also hint at the fresh and playful sound of their upcoming title track, “Beautiful Night“, which is said to be a dramatic dance track from the electro-synth pop genre.

IU and B2ST’s Kikwang to dub for ‘Sammy’s Adventures 2′

IU and B2ST‘s Kikwang have been cast to dub the animation film, ‘Sammy’s Adventures 2‘.

A representative of the film’s marketing company confirmed their casting on June 24th. IU will dub the role of ocean turtle ‘Ella’ while Kikwang will dub the role of Sammy’s best friend, ‘Ricky’. ‘Ella’ and ‘Ricky’ set off on an adventure to save Sammy and Ray, who are both caught at an aquarium in Dubai.

IU and Kikwang will be passed the baton from f(x)‘s Sulli and Big Bang‘s Daesung, who both dubbed Sammy and Shelly in the first installment of the movie.

The film will hit theaters in August.

Actress Seo Shin Ae confesses her crush on B2ST’s Doojoon

“Schedule is not a problem if I can meet Doojoon oppa.”

On June 4th’s episode of MBC‘s ‘Come to Play‘ nation’s little sister special, actress Seo Shin Ae confessed her love for B2ST‘s Doojoon.

Seo Shin Ae revealed that she listens to B2ST’s songs to overcome her recent puberty stages. She shocked the guest panel when she picked Doojoon as her favorite B2ST member instead of Kikwang with whom she co-starred in ‘High Kick‘.

Comparable to when she talked about Kikwang, Seo Shin Ae’s voice changed noticeably when she started talking about Doojoon and shared that, “If I can meet Doojoon oppa, I can flunk my schedules.”

Meanwhile, Seo Shin Ae sang IU‘s “Every End of the Day” and won the hearts of the male staff on scene with her lovely charms.

BoA revealed her nickname within the walls of SM Entertainment.

On May 29th’s airing of KBS‘ ‘Win Win‘, BoA commented on her judging style on SBS‘ ‘K-Pop Star‘.

The MCs told BoA, “When you were judging, you gave a lot of hurtful comments with a smile,” and BoA responded, “My personality is direct, and I can’t beat around the bush. When working, I don’t give hurtful comments, but I do give direct comments.”

MC Kikwang added, “I heard your nickname within the agency is Kwon Gura,” referring to the brash and straightforward Kim Gu Ra.

Viewers commented, “Her biting remarks were scary,” “But her personality seemed nice,” “BoA is the best,” and “I like BoA the best.”

Taiwanese fans prepare a surprise birthday party for BEAST’s Kikwang during ‘Beautiful Show’

BEAST member Lee Kikwang was moved to tears by a special birthday party thrown by his fans in his honor.

At BEAST’s ‘2012 BEAST WORLD TOUR BEAUTIFUL SHOW in Taiwan‘ that took place at National University Gymnasium on March 31st, Kikwang was moved to tears when his fans shocked him with a surprise birthday party.

In the middle of the boys’ performance, a video message put together by the fans was revealed, unveiling footage of the members during different times in their career.

The fans also revealed a card that they prepared for the boys that said, ‘I LOVE BEAST’, as they shouted ‘BEAST FIGHTING!’ in unison.

The BEAST members who were touched by their fans’ love and passion promised, “We will work even harder to show you the best BEAST has to offer.”

“I had no idea our fans would prepare a birthday party,” Kikwang remarked. “I was so glad that we had fans who loved and cherished BEAST. I was touched.”

In related news, the boys of BEAST who wrapped up performances in Taiwan will be preparing for their Thailand show to take place in May.

Old photos of B2ST’s Lee Kikwang surprise netizens

Old photos of BEAST member Lee Kikwang have surfaced on an online community site.

The photos are from his graduation album, and netizens were surprised to see them, as he displays an image that’s quite different from his charismatic stage persona.

Kikwang showcased some hairstyles that fans would never expect him to, and his glasses gave him the image of a studious student.

Netizens who came across the photos left comments such as, “Hairstyle is definitely important in bringing out a guy’s looks“, “Who did that to his hair?”, “His innocent look is endearing“, “His expressions and his style made me laugh…“, and more.

In related news, the singer hurt his ankle while working out and resulted to singing in a chair while his fellow BEAST members performed at the 2012 Asia Model Awards on January 18th, as well as at the Seoul Music Awards on the 19th.

B2ST’s Kikwang discovers his inner photographer

BEAST‘s Kikwang has shared a paparazzi photo of his fellow member Junhyung.

On December 30th, Kikwang tweeted, “I can’t believe that a picture I took out of boredom came out this nicely… Am I an innately talented photographer?”

Junhyung was snapped fiddling with his smartphone in what appears to be a waiting room. His relaxed pose indicated that he had no idea Kikwang had taken a photo of him, which turned out to be quite high-quality.

Netizens wrote, “Kikwang oppa, you can be a photographer”, “This is very chic work. The aura of the picture is really nice”, “BEAST, good job on the award. Kikwang congrats, as well.”

BEAST had won the ‘Song of the Year’ award at the 2011 KBS Music Festival that day, and will be performing at the 2011 MBC Gayo Daejaejun on the 31st.

BEAST’s Kikwang wants to share his energy through a new selca

Earlier, BEAST‘s Yoseob asked fans, “Where’s Kikwang??“. It seems like Kikwang read his mind, as he updated his own Twitter with an adorable selca from the set of his new drama, ‘I’m a Flower, Too‘.

On December 1st, Kikwang tweeted, “Ah~ since I ate lots of food in the morning, I shall present to you something in return hoho. Chick Maru~!! keke Take it! Hope you’ll get some energy after seeing this!! Way to go!!”

The bright lighting, yellow poncho, and Kikwang’s bright smile gave fans a boost of energy, as the idol had hoped.

Kikwang is currently tackling his supporting role as rookie cop ‘Maru’ in Lee Ji Ah and Yoon Si Yoon‘s new drama.

‘I’m a Flower, Too’, featuring Lee Ji Ah and BEAST’s Kikwang, airs its first episode

The highly anticipated drama series, ‘I’m a Flower, Too’ aired its first episode on November 9th, and had viewers laughing over the exchange between Lee Ji Ah and BEAST‘s Kikwang.

Rookie cop Miru (Kikwang) visited Bongsun’s (Lee Ji Ah) precinct to introduce himself for the first time, but was caught off guard in an embarrassing situation when he ran into her changing into her uniform.

The shocked and furious Bongsun exerted her authority by commanding him to introduce himself.

Miru, immediately attracted to her straight-forwardness, was quick to ask her how old she is, where she lives, if he can call her nuna, and whether or not she has a boyfriend.

The seemingly cold and uninterested Bongsun replied to his questions with, “Secret. My house. The two words I hate most: nuna, oppa.”

She then answered his ‘do you have a boyfriend’ question with a curt reply, “Sorry. You’re too short“.

This episode was especially hilarious as there were photos of Kikwang, the idol, posted on the walls of Bongsun’s room, and Kikwang also appeared in her dreams as himself.
