Have the stars been plagued with a ‘We Got Married’ curse?

The recent string of bad luck that some of today’s top celebrities have had are causing fans to question if it has anything to do with what they suspect to be a ‘We Got Married‘ curse.

Not only has T-ara been swept up in their own controversy, 2PM‘s Nichkhun and Clazziquai‘s Alex have recently been booked for driving under the influence. Additionally, in the past, Super Junior‘s Kangin, Crown J, and SG Wanabee‘s Kim Yong Jun have also all been involved in unfortunate situations.

Girl group T-ara has been plagued with what seems to be the worst bullying scandal in the history of K-Pop, and following Hwayoung‘s leave, former fans are petitioning that Eunjung be removed from dramas, advertisements, as well as MBC’s ‘We Got Married’.

2PM’s Nichkhun who was coupled with f(x)‘s Victoria on the show has also recently been involved in an unfortunate accident after having a few beers before getting behind the wheel. His alcohol level was measured at 0.056% and the 2PM member has currently put a halt to his activities. Ahead of his accident, Clazziquai’s Alex who was coupled with actress Shin Ae on ‘We Got Married’ was also booked for driving under the influence.

Super Junior’s Kangin previously paired with actress Lee Yoon Ji on the show also caused much social upheaval as a result of his drunk driving and bar fight, and Crown J who was coupled with singer Seo In Young was charged for possession of marijuana, then later charged for assault on his former manager.

And Kim Yong Jun who is currently serving in the Korean military as a public service worker draw major interest after featuring on ‘We Got Married’ with his actual girlfriend Hwang Jung Eum, but later received 80 hours of community service and was put on probation.

Furthermore, previous ‘We Got Married’ host Go Young Wook has also had his share of legal troubles.

Go Young Wook’s face covered up by a sticker on dog food packaging

In light of the ongoing scandal, Go Young Wook‘s position as the endorsement model of a dog food brand may be at stake.

An online community forum recently posted a picture comparing the previous dog food packaging to a more recent one. In response to Go Young Wook’s current ongoing scandal, it seems the company has taken to putting a sticker over his face to further prevent associating Go Young Wook’s image with their brand.

Netizens responded to this picture, saying, “This company works fast” and “Will his contract be terminated?”

Product distributors told Newsen on May 25th, “We did not realize a sticker had been placed over Go Young Wook’s face until we saw the news articles. We do not know anything regarding the termination of his contract. We’ll have to ask the product’s company, but from what we know, no decisions have been made yet.”

On another note, Go Young Wook who was being investigated on the suspicion of sexually assaulting female A, will not be arrested, as the judge has ruled that there is not enough evidence suggesting that the female had been held against her will nor forced to have sex. However, even though it seems that the sexual assault charge may be thrown out, Go Young Wook will have to answer to the charges of engaging in sexual relations with a minor.

Go Young Wook refutes allegations concerning his sexual assault case

Go Young Wook and his representatives have denied recent reports of alleged Kakao Talk message conversations between him and the alleged sexual assault victim as well as reports by the police.

Recently, reports surfaced discussing Kakao Talk smartphone app messages between Go Young Wook and the alleged victim in which Go Young Wook tells the girl, “let’s date,” just to invite her out when he did not actually intend to date her.

However, Go Young Wook has denied sending the messages, stating, “The Kakao messages that were revealed are not true. ‘A’ was the one to first say, ‘Let’s go somewhere quiet.’” By releasing such a statement, he seems to be going against what the police have revealed through their briefing.

According to the previously released briefing by the Yongsan Police Station, Go Young Wook told the victim, “Do you have any plans to become a celebrity? I will help you get into an agency.” After telling her they needed to go some place quiet as he is a celebrity, he was said to have led her to his apartment, gotten her drunk, and rape her.

By responding to the Kakao Talk message articles, Go Young Wook’s side has gone against what the police have stated. On his official homepage, Go Young Wook wrote, “Even though I know better than anyone else what happened between me and the accuser, I cannot prove every detail to all of you. I will cooperate with the investigations to the best of my ability, and will explain everything I know about the relationship between me and the accuser.”

Since the investigation on this case is still ongoing and Go Young Wook has denied knowing that the alleged victim was a minor, it is yet unclear what kind of punishment he might receive if proven guilty.

Go Young Wook admits to having sexual relations with victim

Go Young Wook, who is currently being investigated by the police, has admitted to having sexual relations with the victim.

A representative from Seoul Yongsan Police Station informed Newsen on May 9th, “Victim ‘A’ has no intention of settling and wants to see him receive punishment.”

The rep continued, “As ‘A’ is a minor, if the sexual assault accusations are proven to be true, whether a settlement is reached or not, [Go Young Wook] will receive punishment. This is not a crime in which a formal complaint from the victim is required. The victim has stated that she revealed her age to Go Young Wook. Go Young Wook has also admitted to having sexual relations with the victim, so if the sexual assault accusations turn out to be true, he will not be able to avoid the due punishment.”

Go Young Wook is under suspicion of sexually assaulting ‘A’ twice, once in March and once again in April. “Go Young Wook told the victim that he would make her into a celebrity,” a representative from the police revealed. “The victim later expressed her frustrations, saying that she felt used.”

Meanwhile, the Yongsan Police Station issued an arrest warrant for Go Young Yook for the violation of child and youth protection laws.
