BoA receives dating advice from Lee Hyori on ‘You & I’

Soloist BoA received some dating advice from sunbae Lee Hyori.

On the August 26th broadcast of SBS‘s ‘You & I‘, BoA appeared as one of the guests on the episode and had an honest talk about her latest title song, “Only One“, as well as her dating life.

BoA began by saying, “Hyori unnie seems to have settled in with her love life now. Aren’t you doing well with your boyfriend (Lee Sang Soon)? I’m curious to know if one’s ideal type changes often as they get older.”

Lee Hyori, who had gone public with her relationship, answered, “Rather than saying that your ideal type changes, you become more certain who you want to meet as you get older. You gradually learn what kind of person is right for you. But the problem is you get that feeling too often,” causing the audience to roar in laugther.

To this, BoA remarked, “Although you’re talking like this, the Hyori unnie I know is very feminine, scrupulous, and kind-hearted. She’s a triple blood type A.”

MC Jung Jae Hyung was then prompted to ask Lee Hyori whether she had any advice to give to the soon to be 27-year-old BoA, to which she responded, “There’s no advice to give because she’s doing so well. But if you really have feelings for somebody, it’s best to not worry about other people’s opinion and date freely. Celebrities tend to worry whether the public will view them as someone who goes around and dates without much thought if they date frequently. They also worry whether they’ll get heartbroken by the person they date.

Lee Hyori elaborated, “But because of those thoughts, you end up being trapped. You need to refrain from having those thoughts and comfortably meet guys you like. If you think he’s not the one, just say good bye in a cool manner. Don’t just say ‘You’re the only one’. There are so many men on the planet you may think that he’s the one, but you’ll soon realize that he’s not once time goes by.
