Psy reveals why he stopped hosting SBS’ ‘Pair’

Singer Psy revealed why he stopped hosting the popular SBS reality show ‘Pair‘ on the latest episode of MBC‘s ’Radio Star‘.

Psy stated, “The PD (program director) for ‘Pair’ explained the program to me. He said that I would act as a spectator MC watching from afar.” He added, “But even commuting to the filming area was difficult to manage. I thought about narrating, but there was a dubbing artist who was already gaining popularity for her unique tone,” showing his disappointment.

The singer also revealed, “The production team looked at me like I was a weakness, so I just decided to drop out of the program.”

In related news, great live vocalists such as Park Jung Hyun and Bobby Kim also guested on this episode of ‘Radio Star’.

Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae, Buga Kingz, and more to perform at the ‘Summer Wave Festival’!

The best hip-hop artists of Korea, such as Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae, and group Buga Kingz (led by Bobby Kim), will soon be gathering for the ’2012 Caribbean Bay Summer Wave Festival’!

According to event organizers PMC Networks and VU Entertainment, the festival will take place at the Caribbean Bay outdoor waterpark from July 14th to 15th.

The ‘Summer Wave Festival’ will feature a string of great performances. While Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae are currently receiving much attention for featuring in Far*East Movement‘s remixed song ‘Live My Life’, Buga Kingz will prepare fun performances that will expose their musical capabilities.

Furthermore, the second annual ‘Summer Wave Festival’ will also include performances by international artists such as Ludacris, Taio Cruz, and Japanese hip-hop duo m-flo.

Bobby Kim to release special remake album ‘OLD & NEW’

Back in April, we announced that Bobby Kim was planning on releasing a special album. It seems the singer is in the final stages of preparing for his comeback as more details on the album have been revealed.

The special album, entitled ‘OLD & NEW‘, will consist of six songs that are remakes of popular past hits by other artists. It was recorded in an American studio, and according to rumors, it’s been produced by several musicians and recording engineers who have taken the time to ensure its high quality of music.

‘OLD & NEW’ will consist of remakes, including Cho Young Pil‘s “Reunion in Memories“, Sanulim‘s “Reflection“, OST tracks “Only You“ from MBC‘s ‘Friend‘ and “As If a Year Was a Day“ from SBS‘ ‘War of Money‘, Yoon Mi Rae‘s “As Time Goes By“, and Jo Duk Bae‘s song, “In a Dream“.

This is the second time Bobby Kim is announcing the release of a special album. His first special album was released in January 2009. It featured songs such as “That Thing, Love” and “Mama“, and drew a lot of public interest.

‘OLD & NEW’ will be released online on June 15th, followed by the offline release in mid-July. The singer will then return to the stage with a tour which will take place from June 28th through July 1st.

Singer Lee Hyori‘s kill-heels have been gaining attention from netizens.

On the May 20th broadcast of SBS‘s ‘You & I‘, Jung Jae Hyung was shocked after seeing Lee Hyori’s pair of kill-heels.

Jung Jae Hyung stated, “I brought a ruler. I don’t think my shoe insoles could ever be bigger…” After measuring her heels with the ruler, the MC also added, “The heels are 20cm. That’s like standing on one stairstep.”

Lee Hyori then wittily asked the audience, “Don’t you think guys who measure a woman’s heels are unattractive?”

On this episode, Bobby Kim and Gummy were featured as guests.

Legendary veteran singer, Cho Young Pil permits Bobby Kim to remake his song!

Legendary veteran singer, Cho Young Pil has permitted Bobby Kim to remake one of his hit tracks!

On April 23rd, a representative of Bobby had an interview with Osen and revealed, “Cho Young Pil has given permission to Bobby Kim for the first time to remake one of his songs.  Bobby plans on inputting his remake version of Cho Young Pil’s ‘Reunion in the Memories‘ in his next special album.”

In the past, Bobby has even done a rendition of ‘Reunion in the Memories’ through MBC‘s ‘I am a Singer‘.  Cho Young Pil who attended as a guest judge, highly praised Bobby’s breathtaking performance.

This is the first time that Cho Young Pil has allowed any junior singer to remake his songs, which makes this whole offer all the more important and meaningful.  Cho Young Pil has expressed that if it’s Bobby Kim, he wouldn’t mind having his songs remade.

Bobby Kim plans to release his special album in June.
