Lena Park to perform at Dodgers Stadium for ‘Korea Night’





Singer Lena Park will be returning to her hometown of Los Angeles, California to sing at Dodgers Stadium for ‘Korea Night‘.


The Los Angeles Dodgers and Korea Tourism Organization are coming together for this year’s ‘Korea Night’ which will be held on Saturday, August 4th. Pregame festivities will begin at 5:30pm and the game will begin at 6pm.


Among the special guests for the night include the National Korean Taekwondo Demo Team and Lena Park. Lena Park will be singing both the US and Korean national anthems as well as “God Bless America“.

Psy reveals why he stopped hosting SBS’ ‘Pair’





Singer Psy revealed why he stopped hosting the popular SBS reality show Pair‘ on the latest episode of MBC‘s ’Radio Star‘.


Psy stated, “The PD (program director) for ‘Pair’ explained the program to me. He said that I would act as a spectator MC watching from afar.” He added, “But even commuting to the filming area was difficult to manage. I thought about narrating, but there was a dubbing artist who was already gaining popularity for her unique tone,” showing his disappointment.


The singer also revealed, “The production team looked at me like I was a weakness, so I just decided to drop out of the program.


In related news, great live vocalists such as Park Jung Hyun and Bobby Kim also guested on this episode of ‘Radio Star’.

Park Jung Hyun opens up about the difficulties she faced during the early stages of her career





Korean American R&B singer Park Jung Hyun (Lena Park) recently shared the hardships she had gone through before making her debut in 1998.


On the July 12th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Jewelry House‘, guest Park Jung Hyun clarified the rumors of being swindled by a former manager. “It’s not true. I didn’t get swindled by my manager.”


I managed to come to Korea and happened to sign with an entertainment agency. Although I was in the final stages of releasing an album there, there were some complications with that agency, which unfortunately led me to abandon the release.


Park Jung Hyun then revealed that she was able to turn to her friend/composer Kim Duk Yoon during the times when she felt lonely.


Kim Duk Yoon further revealed Park Jung Hyun’s difficult past stating, “Due to the high cost of international phone calls, Park Jung Hyun was unable to make frequent calls to her parents who live in the States. She didn’t tell them that she was having a difficult time in Korea, thinking that they might worry about her.”

‘Nation’s fairy’ Lena Park comments on her nickname





Singer Lena Park joked that fairies are known to live over 100 years.


She recently appeared on tvN‘s interview program ’Taxi‘ and revealed her thoughts on her nickname, “nation’s fairy”.


The MCs for ‘Taxi’ asked how she felt about the adorable nickname considering her age. The 36-year-old singer answered, “It is a little embarassing to be called a ‘fairy’ at this age, but fairies live over 100 years.



The MCs coached Lena Park on her throw as she had to practice for the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game later that day.


During the ‘car ride’ interview, the singer also revealed stories of her time in the States where she grew up. She mentioned that she had her first kiss, which was less than ideal, with a football player when she acted as the team’s manager during high school.


This episode of ‘Taxi’ aired on July 5th at 12:20AM KST.

Park Jung Hyun (Lena Park) releases her first album in three years, ‘Parallax’







Korean American R&B singer Park Jung Hyun (Lena Park) has released her eighth album, ‘Parallax‘.


‘Parallax’ is the singer’s first album release in three long years, and this new album envelopes both her image as displayed on variety programs, and the way the public views her as an established artist who has released her 8th formal album.


Having worked both with musicians who know and understand her so well as well as musicians who can lead her in a new, fresh direction, Lena Park is now ready to introduce ‘Parallax’ to her fans.

Lena Park reveals she has adjusted well to Korean culture





It seems Lena Park (Park Jung Hyun) has fully adjusted to Korean culture.


On the June 16th episode of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Entertainment Weekly‘, singing goddess Lena Park went on a guerilla date.


Lena Park revealed, “Because I was unfamiliar with Korean culture, I just formally greeted people here and there. But now if a hoobae doesn’t formally greet me, I think, ‘Why doesn’t he or she greet me?””, hilariously showing her Korean mindset.


Meanwhile, Lena Park has come back after a 3 year hiatus with her 8th album, ‘PARALLAX‘, which will be released on the 19th. Lena Park will also start her nationwide tour starting in Gimhae on the 23rd and 24th and will be performing in 10 cities until September.

Lena Park releases teaser for her comeback album, ‘PARALLAX’





Soloist Lena Park (aka Park Jung Hyun), who shot to mainstream fame through ‘I Am a Singer‘, has released a new teaser video for her upcoming album, ‘PARALLAX‘!


This eighth album will be her first official release in nearly three years. The teasers were launched through her official website and Twitter.  The teasers feature shots in her natural work environment, getting her opinions heard, and other clips from the album-making process.


Fans can take a glimpse into her working atmosphere with composers and staff as well as a preview of a new song that incorporates piano, guitar, and drum sounds.


The album will be released on June 19th, followed by her 10-city nationwide tour starting on the 23rd.

Park Jung Hyun thinks dating tall guys is inconvenient?





On May 25th’s episode of SBS TV‘s ‘GO Show‘, powerful vocalhouses of Korea such as, Kim Bum Soo, Baek Ji Young, Park Jung Hyun, and Ivy were invited as guests.


When Park Jung Hyun (Lena Park), who is known for her small frame, was asked on the topic of a man’s height, she answered, “They are mostly taller than me so I never really worried about it“. She also confessed, “I liked tall guys. I dated a tall guy for a bit, but it was inconvenient. I don’t think it’s very practical.


The petite singer explained, “His height was about 186cm (over 6’1″) so it looked funny. People probably looked at us like we were father and daughter. When we kissed, I would have to climb up a few steps before doing so, and our dates were always sitting down. It was inconvenient,” leaving the MCs and guests chuckling at her story.


In addition, Kim Bum Soo revealed that his role model is actor Lee Bum Soo, who married a tall woman. He admitted, “When I hang out with tall people, I feel a bit more superior. This is the first time I’ve confessed something like this on air.
