Park Jung Hyun opens up about the difficulties she faced during the early stages of her career

Korean American R&B singer Park Jung Hyun (Lena Park) recently shared the hardships she had gone through before making her debut in 1998.

On the July 12th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Jewelry House‘, guest Park Jung Hyun clarified the rumors of being swindled by a former manager. “It’s not true. I didn’t get swindled by my manager.”

I managed to come to Korea and happened to sign with an entertainment agency. Although I was in the final stages of releasing an album there, there were some complications with that agency, which unfortunately led me to abandon the release.

Park Jung Hyun then revealed that she was able to turn to her friend/composer Kim Duk Yoon during the times when she felt lonely.

Kim Duk Yoon further revealed Park Jung Hyun’s difficult past stating, “Due to the high cost of international phone calls, Park Jung Hyun was unable to make frequent calls to her parents who live in the States. She didn’t tell them that she was having a difficult time in Korea, thinking that they might worry about her.”
