John Park appointed as honorary ambassador for international poverty-reduction contribution





Singer John Park is now the honorary ambassador for ’international poverty-reduction contribution’.


‘International poverty-reduction contribution’ is a policy, first established in 2007, that imposes a tax of 1,000 won (87 cents USD) to the cost of  international flights leaving from South Korea.


The contribution has been used to fight poverty and diseases in Africa through the organizations KOICA and NGO.


On the 26th, an associate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade shared, “There are a lot of cases in which the citizens don’t know that every time they fly abroad, 1,000 won is being donated to Africa. We appointed John Park as the ambassador for international poverty-reduction contribution for his kind and exemplary image that suits the purpose of giving hope to the poor countries in Africa.”


John Park’s agency revealed, “John Park takes his appointment as ambassador for international poverty-reduction contribution that supports people in need in Africa to be very meaningful. As it is a policy with a good purpose, he will enthusiastically participate in his activities as the honorary ambassador.”


John Park will officially start his duties as the honorary ambassador with the ‘International Poverty-Reduction Contribution Happy Flight Campaign’ that will be held on the coming 31st at Incheon International Airport.

Younha reveals more details about her 4th album + comeback concert next month





Solo artist Younha, who will be releasing her 4th full-length album ‘SUPERSONIC‘ on the 22nd, is working hard to prepare for her comeback concert taking place on July 28th.


Ahead of the release of her new album, Younha opened a teaser site (www.wealive.co.kr) on June 21st to express her gratitude to the fans that have been waiting for her return. Her 4th full-length album will contain a total of twelve songs, including the duet song with John Park,Would We Have Changed“, which was pre-released on June 15th.


Anticipation is high for Younha’s comeback as this will be her first album since a year and half ago. To commemorate her comeback, the singer is also scheduled to hold a live concert on July 28th at the Melon AX-Hall in Seoul.


Meanwhile, Younha made a special guest appearance on the June 16th broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Immortal Song 2‘ and performed a powerful rendition of Yang Hee Eun‘s “Follow Your Dreams“, leaving fans anticipating her comeback even more.

Lee Sang Soon felt awkward after watching Lee Hyori’s sexy performance?









Lee Hyoris boyfriend Lee Sang Soon shared that he felt a bit awkward after watching his girlfriend’s sexy performance.


The last episode of ‘Golden 12‘ that will air on the 21st will show behind the scenes footage of the concert BODA that Lee Hyori and her friends put together.


The concert kicked off with Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon’s sweet performance, which was then followed by exciting performances by stars such as LeessangJohn ParkBusker BuskerHarimSon Sung Je, and Yoon Young Bae. Actress Gong Hyo Jin also went on stage to recite a poem she wrote about ‘Animal Love‘.


The highlight of the concert was, of course, Lee Hyori’s sexy performances. The diva, who has been on a hiatus from her singing career, made the crowd go wild by performing “U Go Girl” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang“.


After seeing the different Lee Hyori on stage, Jang Bum Joon commented, “It’s the Hyori Noona we don’t know“. Lee Sang Soon, also seemed to be at awe, as he said, “This is the first time seeing this side of her. It feels so strange. I shouldn’t have seen it. I think it’s going to be awkward between us from now on,” evoking laughter from those around him.

Younha releases “Would We Have Changed” feat. John Park







Singer Younha has pre-released her new song “Would We Have Changed” featuring John Park.


Younha who released her last album back in December of 2010 has returned to her fans with a much more mature sound and will be dropping her newest album June 28th. Ahead of her album, Younha has pre-released the song “Would We Have Changed” featuring her friend and soloist John Park. The artists’ clear and powerful vocals well-harmonize in the song that will be sure to touch the hearts of listeners this summer.


“Would We Have Changed” sings of painful breakups and late regrets, and asks ‘would we have changed’, had I reached out to grab you one last time.

Younha to pre-release a duet with John Park from upcoming 4th album





Singer Younha, who recently delivered the news of her upcoming comeback, will be kicking off her fourth album activities with a pre-release of a duet on June 15th.


The duet, titled “Would We Have Changed“, will be a collaboration with John Park, and is sure to showcase the harmony of Younha’s soft and bright voice with John Park’s emotional vocals.


Younha revealed, “I think John Park is a special vocalist with his deep and emotional voice…After hearing ‘Falling‘, I decided I wanted to work with him so I proposed the idea.


The singer’s much anticipated duet with John Park, “Would We Have Changed”, will be released on the 15th, followed by the rest of her album on June 28th.

John Park receives the praises of ‘Super Star K’ judge Lee Seung Chul





 


Veteran singer Lee Seung Chul praised John Park for his style of music.


Lee Seung Chul guest-featured on the May 15th episode of KBS2‘s ‘Win Win‘ to share a few never-before-told stories, including a few from when he served as a judge on ‘Super-Star-K‘.


The finalists from ‘Super Star K’ including Huh Gak, John Park, and Ulala Session who have now become top artists made appearances as special guests on the show.


When asked how he felt about the contestants he judged now actively promoting as artists, he remarked, “It feels good,” then further sang the praises of finalist John Park.


The kind of music released in John Park’s first album is good enough to reappear in a fifth album,” he said. “It’s a difficult genre to pull off but he boldly took on the challenge, and earned a positive response from the public.”


He has raised the bar for mainstream music,” he added. In response, John Park remarked that Lee Seung Chul was like a compass, always guiding him in the right direction.

John Park shows his manners to Park Jin Hee on ‘Music and Lyrics’





On May 5th’s airing of MBC’s ‘Music and Lyrics‘, the actress Park Jin Hee and John Park prepared for their mini concert together, and it seems like the duo’s interactions have been warming up considerably.


On this episode, the two got into a car to ride to the workshop together. John Park politely opened the door for Park Jin Hee to which she responded saying, “Do you usually hold doors open for girls before they get into a car?” John Park then made Park Jin Hee’s heart flutter by saying, “Nope. Only for you nuna.


Park Jin Hee then confessed, “I like it when men open car doors for me.” To this John Park shyly replied, “I’m not usually the type to do this...” She then cutely demanded, “Can’t you just say that you’re the kind of man that does this?” In the end, John Park responded, “I’ll try my best.


In the interview held after this, John Park remarked, “[Park Jin Hee] has a cute dongseng-like side to her.

Lee Sang Soon & Lee Juk poke fun at John Park with congratulatory wreaths







Lee Sang Soon and singer Lee Juk are causing talk with their messages poking fun at John Park.


On May 2nd, singer John Park shared the photos of the wreaths below and the message, “Music and Lyrics, Park Jin Hee & John Park’s mini-concert. Thank you to the mischievous Sang Soon and Juk hyungs.”


Lee Sang Soon had sent a congratulatory wreath that read “Date!”, while singer Lee Juk wrote, “Please focus on the music only, you two.”


Their wreaths seem to be a response to John Park and Park Jin Hee’s baseball stadium kiss that quickly became a hot topic of conversation amongst netizens.


They look good together, don’t they?” the fans wrote in response to John’s tweet, along with “They really should date,” and “Lee Sang Soon’s one word delivers a hard punch.”

Park Jin Hee gives John Park a smooch on the cheek





 


On the later episode of MBC‘s ‘Music and Lyrics‘, actress Park Jin Hee gave John Park a smooch, who has been quite shy since the start of the show.


On the April 28th broadcast of the show, John Park and Park Jin Hee went out on a little date, attending a baseball game between Doosan and Samsung.  As the two watched the game, the famous, ‘Kiss Time’ was featured during break.  As expected, the camera did not lose the chance to capture John Park and Park Jin Hee on the big screen.


The two were startled at first, but became encouraged as the fans chanted, “Kiss! Kiss!“.  John Park, then leaned his cheek forward, cueing the actress to make the move.  The actress proceeded and gave a light peck on his cheek.  In a separate interview, the actress admitted, “I was truly happy.”

Singer John Park reveals his ideal type on ‘Golden 12′





Singer John Park recently revealed his ideal type on the latest episode of OnStyle‘s ‘Golden 12‘.


On the April 26th episode Lee Hyori threw a vegetarian party with a few guests.


John Park was one of the guests on the show, and Hyori didn’t hesitate in asking him everything she wanted to know. “Do you have a girlfriend right now?”, she began.


No, I don’t. I don’t have anyone to date,” he responded.


Did you have one in the States?”, she asked again, to which John responded, “I did when I was in college two years ago. I haven’t met anyone else since then.”


To follow up, the guests then asked about John’s ideal type, and the singer remarked, “I like women that are more mature than I am. I don’t mind if they are younger or older.”


When Ahn Hae Kyung asked who he liked best out of the women on set, the handsome singer answered, “I like Hyori nuna’s appearance, and I like Hae Bak nuna’s figure.”


Hyori could not hide her jealousy as she blurted out, “She’s just long that’s all, she has no appeal!”, causing everyone to laugh. John also added, “I like women who are free spirited, yet still calm and composed.”

Lee Hyori sees John Park as a man, and Busker Busker’s Jang Bum Joon as a nephew?





Singer Hyori compared John Park with Busker Busker‘s Jang Bum Joon.


During the recent airing of OnStyle’s ‘Golden 12‘, Hyori held a vegetarian party with John Park, Jang Bum Joon, Ahn Hae Kyung, supermodel Hae Bak, composer Lee Joo Hee, and more.


Upon Hyori’s request, John Park and Jang Bum Joon put on a spontaneous duet performance of Maroon 5‘s “Sunday Morning“. According to the staff members, John’s skilled piano playing and his emotional-filled vocals harmonized well with Jang Bum Joon’s soothing and unique voice.


The ladies, Hyori, Ahn Hae Kyung, and Hae Bak, expressed their overflowing affection for singer John Park, and an envious Jang Bum Joon drew laughs after attempting aegyo to win the nunas‘ attention.


When I first met John, he told me he was a fan of mine,” Hyori said. “I wanted him to see me as a woman, but he approached me as he would a celebrity. I was hurt,” she continued, causing laughter on set.


I see John Park as a man, and Jang Bum Joon as my nephew,” she added, evoking Jang Bum Joon’s jealousy.

John Park hates men with aegyo





Singer John Park recently expressed his disgust toward men when they use aegyo.


On the April 21st broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Music and Lyrics‘, John Park and his partner, Park Jin Hee further progressed in their efforts to create their own special song.


During this episode, Park Jin Hee requested John Park to show her some of his aegyo to which he responded, “When a woman does aegyo, it looks cute and fresh, but when a man does it, it’s disgusting.”  His honest remark had Park Jin Hee cracking up as he adorably expressed his inner emotions about men who act cute.


The reason why Park Jin Hee requested the act from John Park in the first place was because she noticed that he lacked expression when it came to love and feelings.  To improve his shy personality, Park Jin Hee tried to act an imaginary scene with John Park where he would call his upset girlfriend (played by Park Jin Hee) and attempt to lighten up her mood.


John Park confessed, “I’m bad at expressing aegyo.”  Although he was extremely hesitant to participate in his imaginary role, he still made a brave attempt.  He started off by calling his imaginary girlfriend and saying, “I’m happy that I’m able to see Jin Hee,” but immediately stopped himself as he was too embaraased to continue.

[Spoilers]John Park cuts Park Jin Hee’s fingernails like a gentleman?





It looks like John Park and actress Park Jin Hee, who are currently filming MBC‘s ‘Music and Lyrics‘, will become the target of envy from single people who plan to tune in for the show’s upcoming episode.


According to reports, the April 21st broadcast will be featuring a special date between the pair. The show’s representatives have leaked some spoilers revealing that John Park made a surprise request to Park Jin Hee by calling her out for a late night date. After accepting his offer, the two headed to a drive-in theater.


John Park also became Park Jin Hee’s guitar mentor. Before Park Jin Hee began stroking the strings, John proved himself to be a true gentleman as he cut Jin Hee’s fingernails himself. Obviously, female staff members who were observing the scene became instantly envious of Park Jin Hee’s fortunate situation.


‘Music and Lyrics’ is a reality TV show that revolves around a man and a women who collaborate together for a month in order to produce their own unique song.
