2NE1 and Sagging Snail hit MelOn’s roof simultaneously

Hitting the roof on one of Korea’s most popular music sites, MelOn, is no easy task, unless you’re 2NE1 and Sagging Snail!

2NE1 has hit the roof on MelOn’s real time charts multiple times since the release of their latest single, “I Love You“, displaying the immense popularity of the song as well as the group’s wide appeal.

What’s special about the latest real time chart is that not just one, but two groups have hit the roof simultaneously! This is something that hardly ever happens, especially at the same time. To determine real time chart positions, MelOn takes into account streaming (40%) and downloads (60%) every hour. Thus, not only does it depend on mass streaming, it also depends on how many are willing to purchase the song.

For MelOn’s real time chart at 8AM and 9AM KST, Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Juk (Sagging Snail) have claimed first place by hitting the roof alongside 2NE1 with their newest track, “Punk in the Corner“. Although Sagging Snail was currently in the lead at 8AM, 2NE1 has taken back the #1 spot at 9AM, leaving the competition neck and neck between one of the nation’s top girl groups and the nation’s favorite MC.

Lee Juk and Yoo Jae Suk to release a new song together

Singer Lee Juk and nation MC Yoo Jae Suk will release a new track together.

They first collaborated together last year on MBC‘s ‘Infinity Challenge‘ as Sagging Snail and they’re planning to release a new song together at the beginning of July.

According to a person close to the situation, the two have already finished recording their new song and on June 26th they filmed a music video somewhere in Ilsan.  Photographer Oh Joong Suk who was a part of the calendar project with ‘Infinity Challenge’ filmed the video and it has been confirmed that the other members of ‘Infinity Challenge’ also participated in the recording.

A staff member said, “At least two members of ‘Infinity Challenge’ participated in the filming.  Park Myung Soo thinks that there will be another day of shooting.”

Lee Juk personally teased the upcoming song by writing on his twitter on June 26th, “D-9.  Summer project that I had from last year.”

Last summer Lee Juk and Yoo Jae Suk combined to form Sagging Snail and received a great response with their songs ‘Apgujeong Player‘ and ‘As You Say.’

Lee Sang Soon & Lee Juk poke fun at John Park with congratulatory wreaths

Lee Sang Soon and singer Lee Juk are causing talk with their messages poking fun at John Park.

On May 2nd, singer John Park shared the photos of the wreaths below and the message, “Music and Lyrics, Park Jin Hee & John Park’s mini-concert. Thank you to the mischievous Sang Soon and Juk hyungs.”

Lee Sang Soon had sent a congratulatory wreath that read “Date!”, while singer Lee Juk wrote, “Please focus on the music only, you two.”

Their wreaths seem to be a response to John Park and Park Jin Hee’s baseball stadium kiss that quickly became a hot topic of conversation amongst netizens.

“They look good together, don’t they?” the fans wrote in response to John’s tweet, along with “They really should date,” and “Lee Sang Soon’s one word delivers a hard punch.”
