Still cuts of Rain and Shin Se Kyung’s kiss in ‘R2B: Return to Base’ released





On August 24th, CJ Entertainment released two new still cuts featuring a special kiss scene between ‘R2B: Return to Base‘ co-stars Shin Se Kyung and Rain never before seen in the movie!


The two still cuts show the couple engaged in a passionate kiss in completely different situations. While the first one shows them on a romantic date, the second depicts Rain’s glorious return home, as evidenced by the cheers of his fellow soldiers in the background. The still cuts are said to be of scenes that were edited out of the movie.


At the press conference for the movie held previously, Shin Se Kyung had been asked how she felt about her kiss scene with Rain, to which she replied, “It was great. We actually had two kiss scenes together but both were edited out by the director to make the movie progress more smoothly. Seeing the final product, I can see why the decision was made, but I do feel a bit disappointed that they were left out.”

Actor Lee Jong Suk meets up with Rain





Actor Lee Jong Suk met up with ‘R2B‘ co-star Rain during the singer’s off time.


On August 23rd, Lee Jong Suk posted to his me2day, “Forever my idol! Rain on vacation. Of course, I still look up to and love Joonsang and Sung Soo hyung as well! If someone hasn’t watched ‘R2B‘ yet, then go watch it,” along with the picture above.


Fans commented, “They are both handsome,” “Look over here Rain,” and “Good looking men.

Rain makes a surprise appearance at special event for ‘R2B : Return to Base’





Singer and actor Rain who is currently serving in the Korean military made a surprise appearance that shocked his fans.


Rain unexpectedly attended a special event for the new film ‘R2B : Return to Base‘ held in Seoul on August 22nd.


Yoon Joon Sang and Kim Sung Soo who were present at the event were greeting the fans, when out of the blue, they asked the audience members, “Who here is currently a soldier? Raise your hand.”


Hearing his cue, Rain who was seated amongst the audience raised his hand, causing the fans that were present to shriek in pleasant surprise.


Until now, Rain who plays an important role in the film had been unable to participate in any promotions for the film, due to his military service. His hand-written letters read out loud at promotional events made fans want to see him even more, and Kim Sung Soo suggested Rain make a surprise appearance to greet and thank the fans.


Rain received a 4-night 5-day temporary leave from the military, and returns on August 23rd.

Shin Se Kyung plans to keep her kiss scene with Rain for personal use?





The beautiful actress Shin Se Kyung made a playful announcement on the latest episode of ‘Section TV Entertainment Relay‘.


Following the media conference for her and Rain‘s new movie, ‘R2B: Return to Base’, Shin Se Kyung confessed that “all of the kiss scenes between myself and Rain were edited out. When I saw the movie, I could see why they were cut.”


“But, I don’t think it would’ve been that problematic to keep the kiss scene in there,” she continued, bringing laughter to the set. When her castmates playfully asked her to show the scene in question, she responded, “I already told the director I wanted to keep it for myself.”


We wish we could get our hands on that scene!

Shin Se Kyung talks about her friendship with Rain on ‘TAXI’





Actress Shin Se Kyung admitted that she and artist Rain write letters back and forth.


On the August 9th broadcast of tvN‘s ‘TAXI‘, guest Shin Se Kyung opened up about her new movie ‘R2B : Return to Base‘, as well as her co-star Rain.


The actress was asked if she had ever gone to visit Rain after he enlisted in the military, and Shin Se Kyung responded, “I filmed two dramas back to back so I couldn’t, but I did write him letters.


But there was nothing to say really in the letters,” she said. “It’s not like we’re lovers, we’re not family, so I just wrote about work.”


She added, “But oppa wrote me a nice reply. I wrote it using our real names, but he thoughtfully used his name in the movie, just in case someone saw it and decided to open it. That kind of thoughtfulness was really touching.

Shin Se Kyung talks about her kiss scenes with Rain in ‘R2B : Return to Base’





Actress Shin Se Kyung opened up about her kiss scenes with artist Rain in the new movie, ‘R2B : Return to Base‘.


At the VIP preview for ‘R2B : Return to Base’ held in Seoul on August 8th, Shin Se Kyung remarked, “I had two kiss scenes [with Rain], but both got edited out.


They explained to me that it was in order to smoothly edit the film,” she continued. “I understood why they needed to do so after I watched the movie.


The singer was then asked how she felt when she filmed the kiss scenes, and the actress responded, “My mood when we shot the scene, was good,” exploding into laughter.


Meanwhile, ‘R2B : Return to Base’ is an action film that tells the story of a few pilots, their dreams, and their love tales. The movie opens to the public on August 15th.

Rain writes a fun hand-written letter to his ‘R2B’ co-stars





Jung Ji Hoon a.k.a Rain recently wrote a hand-written letter, joking about how he is thinking about remaining in the military.


On July 31st, a special event was held in Gangnam for the upcoming movie, ‘R2B: Return to Base‘. Singer Rain who plays a role in the movie could not attend the event, as he is currently serving in the Korean military.


Because he could not be there with his fellow co-stars, Rain sent them a hand-written letter instead. In it, he expressed his gratitude towards the fans who gathered that day, and made everyone laugh with his personal messages to his co-stars.


He wrote to Lee Hana, “My cute friend Hana. Are you still very serious? You should stop that.” He evoked laughs by adding, “Oh, by the way, I’m not interested in you.”


On the flip side, Rain had hilariously written to Lee Jong Suk, “I think I like you,” displaying his goofy side.


The artist also had a message for Kim Sung Soo. “I heard you said in an interview that I was no good at being in the military,” he began. “I’ve actually adapted so well, I’m wondering if I should just continue to do this.”


Meanwhile, action blockbuster ‘R2B’ follows the story of Taehoon (Rain), the youngest pilot of the special acrobatic air force team Black Eagle. He is transferred to the 21st Fighter Wing, then attacks enemy aircrafts that appear in the skies of Youido. The film also stars Yoon Joo Sang, Shin Sae Kyung, Kim Sung Soo, Lee Hana, Lee Jong Suk, Jung Kyung Ho, and more.


The movie premieres on September 15th.

Rain pays his respects with fellow soldiers at Seoul’s National Cemetery





On June 25th, SBS‘s ‘Good Morning’, hosted by Park Eun Kyung, Kim Hwan, and Jo Hyung Gi, broadcasted a military event that took place on the 22nd, when Rain and his fellow “entertainment soldiers” visited Seoul’s National Cemetery.


On this day, private first class and soon to be corporal, Jung Ji Hoon (Rain), soldier Park Hyo Shin, and soldier Lim Joo Han held an open conference at Seoul’s National Cemetery before proceeding to pay their respects to the deceased patriots and national heroes of South Korea.


Rain and his fellow soldiers are a part of a particular force within the military known as the “entertainment soldiers.” Their duty, as their title suggests, is to entertain military units across the country by holding concerts and hosting TV as well as radio programs.


As the DJ of the Korean Forces Network (KFN), Rain led the live broadcast of KFN’s radio program at Seoul’s National Cemetery. It is said that, without a mistake, the singer was able to expertly carry out the honors, showcasing his capabilities as an entertainment soldier.


Fans who watched the broadcast commented, “After going to the military, Rain has become even more awesome,” “Rain has earned the trust [of the military],” and “It’s nice to see him after such a long time.

Rain claims that all girl groups and actresses are now ‘Goddesses’ to him





‘World-Star’ Rain, who is currently in the process of completing his mandatory military service, has recently revealed his affectionate feelings for girl groups.


On June 16th, the singer / actor had an interview before the ‘K-Pop Special Concert‘, which was held at the Yeosu Expo.


When he was asked to compare the differences between before and after entering the military, Rain answered, “Well, I was able to realize that all girl groups and actresses who come on TV are ‘Goddesses’.” For those who aren’t aware, Korean soldiers serving in military have limited access to the web or electronic devices, but can watch music shows together on TV during their free time. Which is why, for obvious reasons, these male soldiers go crazy about girl groups.


Later on when he was asked, “If you were to serve in the military again, who would you bring along?“, Rain hilariously responded, “Who do you think? Of course with a woman. Do you think I would come back here with a guy? I would want to bring my friends, but if I were to really serve in the military again, I would definitely bring a female no matter what.


In related news, the ‘K-Pop Special Concert’ at the Yeosu Expo will feature Rain, Park Hyo Shin, and KCM, who are all serving in the military, as well as Nine Muses.

Rain’s movie ‘R2B: Return to Base’ releases a new teaser poster





A teaser poster for Rain‘s upcoming film, ‘R2B: Return to Base‘, has been released!


Showing his full transformation as a combat pilot, the teaser shows him flying high in the sky above a bustling city. The combat planes he’s surrounded by draw curiosity from the viewers as to what could be going on.


The film is a thriller a secret mission that “flips over the skies of Korea” with special participation by the staff of ‘Dark Knight’ and ‘Inception’ who specializes in flight scenes in Hollywood.


Also featuring Shin Se Kyung, Lee Jong Suk, Jung Suk Won, and more, the movie hits theaters this August. Fans won’t want to miss out, as this will be his last project release since he enlisted in the army last October.

IU transforms into HyunA for her solo concert?





‘Nation’s little sister’ IU transformed into ‘Trouble Maker HyunA‘.


Recently, a video of IU’s performances in her first solo concert ‘Real Fantasy‘ was shared on an online community board.


The video showed IU fully flaunting her superb skills and charms as a ‘girl diva’ surrounded by a large number of fans. The fans became wild when IU showed off her hidden dance skills through a ‘dance remake’ session during her concert.


Dressed in a black suit, IU displayed a powerful performance dancing to Black Eyed Peas‘ “Boom Boom Pow“, Rain‘s “Rainism“, and Michael Jackson‘s “Dangerous“. She also appeared in short shorts and perfectly reproduced HyunA and Hyunseung‘s “Trouble Maker”. The special stage gave a glimpse of her sexy charm that the fans hadn’t really seen before.


Meanwhile, IU launched her nationwide tour starting in Seoul on June 2nd and is planning to visit her fans in Ulsan, Jeonju, Suwon, Busan, and Daegu throughout the remainder of her tour.

Military Music Festival to feature Girl’s Day, Rania, Rain & more








It’s been announced that the annual Military Music Festival has been scheduled to take place on June 23rd in Gongjoo City, featuring idol performances and a singer competition by soldiers and civilians alike. Sponsored by the 32nd Division of the army trading command (ROKA), the event celebrates the Fallen Patriots & Veterans’ Month.


The pre-event ceremony will feature a performance by the army band, the Honor Guard Drill Team, the special forces’ martial arts routine, and army music video. Concert performances include Jang Yung Jung, Girl’s Day, Rania, Ruby and more, as well as celebrity PR soldiers such as Rain and Park Hyo Shin.


The singing competition has been drawing team application and is expected to involve over 5,000 people. The first 30 teams (10 soldier teams, 20 civilian teams) will be accepted for preliminaries, and 10 teams will be selected to advance to the finals. Seven finalists will receive monetary prizes, and the competition winners will receive a trophy and 2 million won (~$1700 USD).

Rain updates fans during his time off from the military





Singer Rain updated fans while he was on a break from his mandatory military service.


Rainy Entertainment posted the photos above on their official Twitter page and wrote, “A surprise gift for all of you, from Rainy. This was taken by Rain during his time off. Only for you.”


His baseball cap and black-rimmed glasses makes the singer look younger and cuter than usual, and his adorable expressions of aegyo make it hard to believe Rain is already nearing his thirties.

Rain’s movie undergoes final title change to ‘R2B: Return to Base’





Rain‘s last movie before his army enlistment, ‘Soar: Close to the Sun‘, has finalized a release date and announced a title change.


On May 21st, CJ Entertainment revealed that they would be changing the movie’s title to ‘R2B: Return to Base‘. Representatives stated, “The movie will be undergoing a title change and is scheduled to hit theaters this August. ‘Return to Base’ is army lingo for safe return and is actually said in the movie itself.”


The film also features Shin Se Kyung, Lee Jong Suk, and others. The film was produced by staff members that also worked on ‘Dark Knight‘ and ‘Inception‘.

Chinese model Ai Shangzhen would like to date Big Bang, Won Bin, and Rain





Chinese top model Ai Shangzhen revealed her thoughts on Korean actor Won Bin, and musicians Rain and Big Bang.


On May 17th, Ai Shangzhen attended the ‘Queen’s Blade With Ai Shangzhen’ event and displayed her amazing figure standing at 180 cm (5’11″) tall with a weight of 51 kg (112 lbs).


Ai Shangzhen lived up to her title as a top model by perfectly pulling off the costume of her game character ‘Depender’, and she took time to answer questions of the gamers and take photos with them.

Rain asked about income at ’2012 Active-Duty Personnel Enlistment Cultural Festival’





Rain‘s monthly income was brought up on May 8th at the ‘2012 Active-Duty Personnel Enlistment Cultural Festival‘.


One soldier asked the star how big his fortune really was, and Rain responded, “I’m sorry, but please only ask me questions related to the military.”


Lee Jin Ho, who served as the MC for the event, revealed Rain’s supposed monthly income joking, “I’m under the impression that Rain makes $70 (80,000 won) a month.” Rain explained, “To be honest, I don’t have anything to spend money on. I think when I go [into the base], I’ll probably spend a lot at the PX (army canteen).”

J.Y. Park: “I’m so proud of Suzy and Rain”





Producer J.Y. Park expressed his fondness for miss A‘s Suzy and Rain, who are and were a part of his JYPE family.


On April 26th, J.Y. Park went on Twitter and left the message, “Suzy, they say that it’s the first time someone has won the Singer Rookie Award, Drama Rookie Award, in addition to the Movie Rookie Award!  Nice Work! I don’t think you’ve shown one-tenth of your true potential, so continue working hard just like now.


He then continued by praising Rain, “They also say that Rain is the only male to win the Singer Rookie Award, Drama Rookie Award, and Movie Rookie Award. Wow…I’m so proud of these two ^^ .


For those who don’t know, on April 26th, Suzy attended the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards Ceremony and received the Rookie Award for the movie category through her debut film, ‘Introduction to Architecture‘.  Suzy made history at the awards’ night, as she became the first person after Rain to receive all three awards — Singer Rookie Award, Drama Rookie Award, and Movie Rookie Award.

Fans celebrate Rain’s 10th anniversary with a subway advertisement





A congratulatory plaque was put up in the subway stations, celebrating singer Rain‘s 10th anniversary.


Rain (Jung Ji Hoon) who is currently enlisted in the military, debuted on April 24th, 2002 through a cable channel music program. Afterwards, he released his first formal album ‘Rain‘ to officially kick off his promotions as an artist.


Once he established himself as a singer, Rain also tried his hand at acting in both dramas and films alike. He received praise for his roles in Korean dramas ‘Sang Doo! Let’s Go To School‘ and ‘Full House‘. He was even offered a role in Hollywood project ‘Speed Racer‘ and later starred in ‘Ninja Assassin‘, being labeled a ‘World Star’ by fans all over the world.


To celebrate his ten years in the industry, his fans put up an advertisement on the front of a screen door in a busy subway station in Seoul. “Rain, congratulations on your ten year anniversary,” it read, also written in Japanese for his Japanese fans.


The advertisement will be up for another month, and fans remarked that with the ad, they would be able to “rain down on Rain when he exhausts himself in the military,” and “We hope that he will feel proud after seeing our efforts.”


In related news, Rain enlisted in the military on October 11th of last year, he is scheduled to be discharged around July of 2013.
