‘Healing Camp’ cast criticized for improper etiquette during 2012 London Olympics

The cast of SBS ‘Healing Camp’ is receiving some flak over their perceived lack of manners in the latest episode.

To celebrate the 2012 London Olympics, the cast of ‘Healing Camp’ – Lee Kyung Gyu, Han Hye Jin, and Kim Jae Dong – flew out to Great Britain to interview some of the South Korean athletes.

The incident arose when they visited the arena for Korean rifleman Jin Jong Oh, who was competing at the time. When it was confirmed that he would be winning the gold, the cast shouted loudly in surprise then quickly sat back down after disapproving looks from the audience. According to proper etiquette, the audience must remain quiet until all of the shooters have finished the competition, since shooting takes extreme precision and a high level of focus.

Viewers expressed their disappointment at both the cast and the editors. “I finally figured out who was behind that embarrassing scream,” one viewer criticized. “I think an apology is in order.”

Others criticized the poor editing, wondering if the scene couldn’t have been cut out. “Did they want the cast to suffer? That scene could have been edited out easily.”

Yang Hyun Suk opens up about how his relationship with wife Lee Eun Joo began

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk opened up about his relationship with wife, Lee Eun Joo.

On the May 21st episode of SBS‘s ‘Healing Camp‘, Yang Hyuk Suk talked about his debut with Seo Taiji & Boys, the Big Bang scandals, the story behind the production of 2NE1‘s hit song “I Am The Best“, and his secret 9-year relationship with his wife, Lee Eun Joo.

“My wife Lee Eun Joo is the sister of former Sechs Kies member Lee Jae Jin,” he said. “I saw her on TV when she was in high school, and I liked her.”

“A few years later in 1997, I met her again and I recruited her as a trainee. She promoted with a group called Swi.T, but it was the only group from YG that wasn’t successful,” he explained.

“They would’ve done really well if I had invested more into that group,” he said. “But I was afraid that she would catch on, and so I purposely paid less attention to that group,” Yang Hyun Suk added, admitting he had a secret crush on her for 3 years.

“My heart and my mind were in battle with one another,” he said. “I didn’t know what to do as the CEO of the company, and also as a man. I don’t usually get nervous, but it was so hard to ask her to be with me. I was afraid she would not think of me as a man.”

He continued, “I eventually worked up the courage to call her and tell her that I liked her. Shocked, she responded with, “Excuse me?” We still talk about it to this day, but she said she thought I was joking. I remained on the phone with her for two hours, convincing her that I was really being genuine. After that, we very naturally began dating. No one knew that we were dating. For 9 years, I could never once take her to a coffee shop or to the movie theater. I feel really bad for that, so I’m trying the best I can to be good to her now.”

When asked why he never held an official wedding ceremony, he admitted that they had married after a secret 9-year relationship because Lee Eun Joo became pregnant.

“Before, I chose my work over my wife, but once she became pregnant, I chose her,” he said.

“I did not hold a wedding because I didn’t want to stand before other people,” he continued. He then revealed a rather interesting promise he made with Seo Taiji.

“Seo Taiji and I promised that we wouldn’t hold weddings. Just the thought of wearing a tuxedo and standing before other people is oddly really embarrassing,” he bashfully confessed.

Yang Hyun Suk’s ‘Healing Camp’ episode falls short of J.Y. Park’s in viewer ratings

The May 14th broadcast of SBS‘s ‘Healing Camp‘ featuring Yang Hyun Suk has placed first in ratings out of all the other programs in its time slot. However, it was unable to surpass the viewer ratings of the April 30th episode of ‘Healing Camp’ featuring J.Y. Park.

According to AGB Nielson Media Research, the May 14th episode of ‘Healing Camp’ garnered 9.1% in viewer ratings, 1.7% higher than last week’s episode with Patti Kim. J.Y. Park humbly confesses, “Only 30% of my success came from my own effort”

On the latest episode of SBS‘ ‘Healing Camp‘, which aired on the 30th, J.Y. Park revealed that after 11 months in the U.S. as a producer, his songs entered the Billboard Top 10 albums charts. He became the first Asian producer to create hit songs for artists such as Mase, Will Smith, and Cassie in less than 2 years.

J.Y. Park stated, “I was so proud of myself that I put the CD in a showcase in my room and the thought, ‘How did I do this?’, suddenly came to me. Now that I think about it, I was in way over my head. I realized that compared to my efforts, my results were much bigger than I deserved. I realized that I had good fortune, and began to write the events that happened to me out of luck.”

He then recalled, “In 1972, being born in South Korea to my parents, my mom forcing me to learn piano against my own will, living for 2 years in the US when I was 7 years old, hearing Michael Jackson’s music at the time, being able to learn english for 2 and a 1/2 years, being blessed with an intelligent brain with a high concentration ability that helped me to study well, being born at the time of analog and digital production, meeting producers Kim Hyung Suk and Bang Shi Hyuk as well as countless artists, having a musical foundation of 16 years, and not dying from various accidents or illnesses.”

“It should be normal for me to forget English. But after falling in love with Michael Jackson’s music, I began to only listen to American radio and watch American TV. I would listen and dance to black music for four hours every day. I didn’t study English for my future. It’s all because of pure luck. If just one of these things that I mentioned didn’t happen, the results would have been totally different.”

J.Y. Park then revealed he thought to himself, “What did I do well to deserve all this?” and confessed, “Only 30% of my success came from my own effort.”
