HaHa shares surprising details about MC Yoo Jae Suk

HaHa appeared on the April 11th broadcast of MBC Everyone‘s ’Weekly Idol‘, where he shared some surprising details about “the nation’s MC”, Yoo Jae Suk.

During the show he stated, “Yoo Jae Suk does not like it when I hang out with Jung Hyung Don. One time, I drank a lot with Hyung Don before a recording, and we got in a lot of trouble.”

HaHa continued, “He threatened us saying if we cannot make him laugh five times that day then he would kill us, so we worked really hard and luckily made him laugh six times,” revealing a charismatic side of Yoo Jae Suk that most people are not familiar with.

Viewers responded, “[Yoo Jae Suk's] passion for comedy is amazing,” and “I will be paying close attention to the programs now to look out for Yoo Jae Suk’s gaze.”

HaHa and Yoo Jae Suk are currently co-stars on ‘Running Man’ and ‘Infinity Challenge‘.

HaHa reveals that he often feels pressured by Yoo Jae Suk

Singer HaHa revealed that he was once under intense pressure by the nation’s MC, Yoo Jae Suk.

On the upcoming episode of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Win Win‘, HaHa explained that even after seven years of filming ‘Infinity Challenge‘, he still can’t fall asleep the day before a scheduled filming due to mental and physical stress.

HaHa began by saying, “Yoo Jae Suk hyung always stands at the center during ‘Infinity Challnge’. When one side isn’t entertaining, he looks to the other side and gives you the glance, hinting for you to get ready. Truthfully speaking, everytime I receive that glance, I feel very pressured.”

MC Tak Jae Hoon nodded in agreement and remarked, “That happens to me, too. During the recording for ‘Win Win’, Kim Seung Woo also gives me the glance, telling me to get ready to make a comment.” MC Lee Soo Geun also pitched in, “If a recording isn’t going as smoothly, Kim Seung Woo would poke me in the rib.”

The MCs later questioned HaHa asking what Yoo Jae Suk means to him to which he replied, “He’s somebody who’s more precious than myself.”

Yoo Jae Suk gets booed for corny chant on ‘Running Man’

Comedian and MC, Yoo Jae Suk recently got booed by his fellow show mates for his lame and cheesy chant at actress Han Ga In.

On March 25th, SBS‘s ‘Running Man‘ featured Han Ga In as their newest guest and held a special, ‘Finding Han Ga In’s first love race’.  The participants were spread out in different groups and Han Ga In was grouped with Yoo Jae Suk, Gary, and Lee Kwang Soo.

One of the many games of this ‘race’ required Han Ga In to spin her body around and pass through a hula-hoop immediately afterwards.  Of course, the running man staff also gave a cheesy name to this mission–’The Moon that Pierced the Sun’ (MBC‘s ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun‘ reference).

Before Han Ga In began the mission, Yoo Jae Suk came up with a corny chant whose level is also on par with the staff’s idea for the mission name.  Yoo Jae Suk yelled, “Han Ga In is not a free/leisure (Han Ga Han) person.  Pierce the Sun and run! [repeat].”

The responses from his members were not very enthusiastic to say the least.

Yoo Jae Suk voted by elementary students as the #2 most admirable person

Not only is the nation’s MC Yoo Jae Suk loved by adults, but he is also popular among elementary students.

The “national grasshoper” MC Yoo Jae Suk was recently added onto one of the quiz questions on SBS‘s ‘100 Million Quiz Show‘. The question for round eight was, ‘Who did elementary students choose as the 2nd most admirable person?‘

The multiple choice answers to the question were: 1.) King Sejong the Great, 2.) Parents, and 3.) Yoo Jae Suk.

Viewers were surprised to see MC Yoo Jae Suk on the list of answers, they were even more surprised when it was revealed that the correct answer was #3, Yoo Jae Suk!

After the answer was revealed, singer HaHa, who is currently working with the MC on ‘Infinity Challenge‘, expressed his admiration by yelling out, “Yoo Jae Suk is the best!” He continued, ”I know exactly how elementary students feel. When Yoo Jae Suk walks by, herds of elementary students will gather around him. They ignore me, Haroro, and go straight for Yoo Jae Suk.”

Meanwhile, the #1 person elementary students admired was revealed to be figure skating queen, Kim Yuna and coming in at #3 was UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon.

Yoo Jae Suk shows love for his juniors

It has once again been revealed that the nation’s MC, Yoo Jae Suk, really loves his juniors.

On March 10th, comedian Choi Hyo Jung tweeted a picture of a present that Yoo Jae Suk got him.

Choi Hyo Jung wrote, “Yoo Jae Suk sunbae gave me sneakers today.  Whenever we film together I feel his warmth.  Thank you sunbae,” and also uploaded a picture of himself holding up a pair of red sneakers with a huge smile on his face.

Seeing that he is wearing clothes for a bath house, it seems he received the gift at the recording of KBS2′s ‘Happy Together Season 3.’

Netizens responded, “Yoo Jae Suk really takes care of his juniors.  He is a good sunbae“, “Wow, you got a nice gift”, and “I’m envious,” showing that people really saw that Yoo Jae Suk is a caring person.

Last year during a broadcast of ‘Happy Together Season 3,’ Yoo Jae Suk promised that he would get comedian Song Joon Geun a refrigerator for his wedding gift and Song Joon Geun confirmed he received the gift through his Twitter.  This also brought a positive response of Yoo Jae Suk from Netizens.

Yoo Jae Suk and IU selected as #1 celebrities to go on a vacation with overseas

 

Between February 20th to February 26th, travel agency Expedia conducted a survey asking 600 of their male and female employees, which celebrity they would most like to go on a vacation with overseas.

The results were released on March 7th and the nation’s MC Yoo Jae Suk and the nation’s sweetheart IU were voted #1.

Among the male celebrities, Yoo Jae Suk came in 1st place with 31.7% of the votes, followed by King Kim Soo Hyun from the popular MBC drama ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun‘ with 16.7%. Third place went to Song Joong Ki with 12% and Hyun Bin with 11%.

Under the female celebrities, IU also received 31.7% of the votes and trailing behind IU were Shin Min Ah with 16.9% and SNSD‘s Yoona with 11%.

Yoo Jae Suk was an awkward MC 9 years ago?

Footage of Yoo Jae Suk‘s first ‘Happy Together‘ MC experience from 9 years ago has become a hot topic.

The March 1st broadcast of KBS 2TV ‘Happy Together 3‘ featured past MCs of the show for its 10th anniversary special episode, such as Shin Dong Yup, Lee Hyori, Tak Jae Hoon, and Eugene, who revealed the behind stories of the show.

The ‘Happy Together’ MC Yoo Jae Suk from 9 years ago, unlike the Yoo Jae Suk we all know and love now, was very awkward and wasn’t able to carry the show smoothly. The MCs and guests could not stop laughing from the ‘Happy Together’ footage from 9 years ago, and Yoo Jae Suk commented on his hairstyle at the time, saying, “I was trying to copy Tak Jae Hoon hyung.”

In the video footage, Yoo Jae Suk says, “Let us start. ‘Happy Together‘” as he and Kim Jae Dong put their hands up to their faces to resemble a flower shape. Then, Yoo Jae Suk says to Kim Jae Dong, “Please open the door,” to which Lee Hyori said to fellow guest Shin Dong Yup, “He said he’s going to open the door~” and burst out into laughter.

Park Myung Soo, after watching Yoo Jae Suk’s footage from 9 years ago, said, “It looks like you weren’t very good either back then,” while Park Mi Sun commented, “Compared to his smooth MC and transition style we’re used to now, it was cute and refreshing.”

Yoo Jae Suk inspires a unique anti-fan cafe

Korea’s representative MC, Yoo Jae Suk, has finally attracted the creation of an anti-fan cafe.

On the February 6th, MBC‘s ‘Good Day‘ looked into Yoo Jae Suk’s top-related search item, “Anti cafe“.

Considering how Yoo Jae Suk is famous for having no anti-fans, reporters were surprised by the appearance of an anti cafe. yet the real kicker was that the anti cafe was formed by his own fans.

Upon closer inspection, however, ‘Good Day’ discovered that the messages left on Yoo Jae Suk’s anti-fan cafe are ones of encouragement and affection.  The founder of the anti cafe revealed, “I made an anti-cafe because no one had made one yet. I made it to be the first and to be a unique anti-cafe. I’m a fan of Yoo Jae Suk.”

Yoo Jae Suk’s devotion to his wife touches hearts

If there’s one thing that makes our jaded hearts melt just a little, it’s a great love story. Comedian Yoo Jae Suk earned bonus points with the public recently after one of his acts of devotion for his wife was revealed online.

On December 30th, an online community site posted a screen cap from a broadcast representative’s Twitter. The captured tweet read:  ”After our after-party, a Happy Together PD saw Yoo Jae Suk packing up food. He asked, “Why are you packing that?” and a bashful Yoo Jae Suk laughingly answered, “Whatever food I [eat] that I think tastes good, my wife seems to think so as well. That’s why I wanted to take this to her. That’s okay, right?””

After reading this post, netizens gushed over Yoo Jae Suk’s thoughtfulness. “True, sincere charisma“, “Na Kyung Eun must be so happy“, “The more I see him, the more I think he’s such a great role model,” they wrote.

Yoo Jae Suk met his wife Na Kyung Eun on the MBC program “Infinity Challenge” and they married in 2008. Na Kyung Eun and Yoo Jae Suk have welcomed a son last year named Ji Ho.

Yoo Jae Suk wins MBC’s ‘Best Male Entertainer Award’

The ‘Best Male Entertainer Award‘ at the 2011 MBC Entertainment Awards‘ went to none other than MC Yoo Jae Suk.

Yoo Jae Suk was awarded ‘Best Male Entertainer Award’ under the variety show category.

For his award speech, he stated, “I’m sorry that I won the award this year as well, and I’m really thankful. I want to thank my staff members and my ‘Infinite Challenge‘ cast members. I also want to thank Kim Won Hee who has been with me for ‘Come To Play‘ and has never once picked a fight with me.” Yoo Jae Suk also thanked DJ DOC‘s Lee Haneul.

“My gratitude towards the viewers cannot be expressed in words. Thank you for always sending your applause and support. I will work to bring you bigger laughs in the next year,” he continued.

In related news, the ‘Best Female Entertainer Award‘ went to Park Misun, who received her award with tears.

Yoo Jae Suk gives Lee Kwang Soo bad love advice?

Actor Lee Kwang Soo admitted that he had taken some bad love advice from his mentor, MC Yoo Jae Suk.

At a recent filming for a new episode of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Happy Together 3‘, the actor remarked, “I was rejected by a woman I liked because of Yoo Jae Suk.”

“I talk to Yoo Jae Suk on a regular basis about a lot of things, but one day I came to him to receive some love advice about a girl I liked,” he continued. After hearing him out, Yoo Jae Suk suggested that Lee Kwang Soo confess his feelings to her, like a real man.

“He told me that if I were to be honest with her, she would understand how I felt about her,” the actor said. Lee Kwang Soo, who was encouraged by his mentor, called this woman that very day as he headed home. But different from what Yoo Jae Suk told him, the woman asked what he was talking about and rejected him completely.

After he hung up with her, Lee Kwang Soo immediately called Yoo Jae Suk to tell him his confession went horribly wrong, Yoo Jae Suk could not stop laughing for ten whole minutes.

The episode airs December 29th at 11:15PM KST.

Recently, Lee Min Jung posted on her mini hompy the photo above, writing, “I recorded Happy Together on Christmas Eve. Together with funny and nice God Yoo.”

In the photo, the two look like close friends, which sounds plausible after filming ‘Running Man‘ together.

Yoo Jae Suk, Park Ha Sun named as the #1 stars to “share coffee at a ski resort with”

In yet another one of South Korea’s numerous online polls, MC Yoo Jae Suk and actress Park Ha Sun were chosen by netizens as the top male and female stars that they wanted to share a cup of coffee with at a ski resort.

The poll queried 320 male and female office workers aged 20 through 30 in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. Yoo Jae Suk drew 51% out of 158 votes for the male celebrity poll, while Park Ha Sun garnered 48% out of 162 votes for females.

As for the runner-ups, actors Song Joong Ki (27%) and Soo Ae (23%) came in second place.

Netizens expect Yoo Jae Suk to win the ’2011 KBS Entertainment Award’

After a recent survey, it was revealed that netizens expect MC Yoo Jae Suk to take home the top honor at the ’2011 KBS Entertainment Awards’.

In an online mobile community KTH, a survey was opened for a week based on the question, “Who has brought about the most laughs to become the star of ’2011 KBS Entertainment Awards’?” 533 netizens participated in the survey and nominated MCs like Lee Seung Gi, Kim Byung Man, Lee Kyung Kyu, and Yoo Jae Suk.

In the end, Yoo Jae Suk took first place with 29%(157) of the votes. Next on the list were Lee Seung Gi13%(69), and Lee Kyung Kyu 11%(58). Despite not being on the nominees list for ‘KBS Entertainment Awards’, Park Myung Soo and Lee Soo Geun ranked in the top of the poll by netizens, due to their well-loved roles in ‘Happy Together 3′ and ’1N2D’, respectively.

Yoo Jae Suk was tricked by his own mother

On November 10th’s episode of ‘Happy Together 3‘, MC Yoo Jae Suk shared a story about how he was once tricked by his own mother when he was younger.

“I caused some trouble back in the day and I was avoiding going home. But my mother called and said, ‘Hey Jaesuk, come home. I’m not going to punish you for such petty things. Come home and eat, don’t worry, I won’t punish you’,” he began.

“I felt comforted and went home, but immediately afterwards I was severly punished!”

“I was so upset that I was tricked by her sweet, comforting voice. I was severely disciplined for my actions,” he continued. “How could she plan something so elaborate?”, he asked, continuing the laughters on set.

MC Yoo Jae Suk performs at ‘LeeSsang Theater’

On November 4th, MC Yoo Jae Suk cheered on the boys of LeeSsang by guest-featuring at their first independent concert ‘LeeSsang Theater‘ that took place in Seoul.

MC Yoo showed his loyalty towards the two members with whom he has built a close friendship with on programs such as MBC Infinite Challenge, as well as SBS Running Man.

The MC belted out “Grand Finale“, as well as “Apgujung Delinquent” as he was on the stage dressed in a full neon pink suit with a comical wig and sunglasses, similar to the kind of fashion he rocks on ‘Infinite Challenge’.

The MC who received an explosive welcome from the fans remarked, “I honestly don’t have a lot of experience performing. I feel awkward doing jumps and things on stage- I actually didn’t know what to do earlier because mid-air, I realized my timing was completely off ,” which caused the audience to explode into a sea of laughter.

Yoo Jae Suk wanted to put on a performance at LeeSsang Theater in support of the members and despite his busy schedule managed to attend all the rehearsals, proving his loyalty to both Giland Gary.

Also in attendance aside from MC Yoo were SNSD‘s Jessica, Song Joong Ki, Lee Gwang Soo as well as the celebrities who previously guest-featured on the program, along with actressJang Hee Jin, and Park Bo Young.

Lee Gwang Soo and HaHa made their own appearance mid-show through a video clip, and offered some laughs to the concert-goers.

The last performance of the night was put on by LeeSsang’s close colleague Honey Family, closing the show with a bang.

This concert was the first for duo LeeSsang and they performed their greatest hit tracks like “Ballerino“, “Girl who can’t break up, Guy who can’t leave“, and “I’m not really smiling“.

LeeSsang made their comeback this past July with the seventh album ‘AsuRa BalBalTa‘ and received high rankings on major music sites.
