Kang Sora talks about ‘Dream High 2′, ‘We Got Married’ & Leeteuk in recent interview

It had been a week since KBS2‘s ‘Dream High 2‘ had come to an end, Kang Sora has once again transitioned into being a normal 22 year old college student and she looked extremely well.

The Mini-series ‘Dream High 2′ in which Kang Sora was cast as a female lead drew much attention as it featured some of today’s hottest idol stars. Unfortunately, the viewer ratings didn’t meet their expectations due to fierce competition, but the time spent on the program was meaningful for Kang Sora.

I think it may be the last drama that I’ll ever film wearing a high school uniform,” she said. “Maybe that’s why, but I felt a bit strange filming the last episode. There was a scene where we we traveled eight years into the future, and when we all saw each other we said, ‘What is this? Is this why you couldn’t become a singer?’, and we all laughed about it.”

Kang Sora remarked that she kept in contact with her co-stars, even after the drama came to an end. “Last week, Yoojin (Jung Jinwoon), Siwoo (Park Seojun), and Hongju (Kim Jisoo) got together. It was really good to see them,” she said. “We decided that if the ‘Dream High 2′ friends ever get to perform on a stage together as singers, we would publicly broadcast it. I don’t know about anything else, but I think I’m pretty good at shouting, haha.”

Kang Sora is keeping quite busy these days. Her movie ‘Sunny‘ was viewed by over 7,000,000 people, and she is currently filming CFs, dramas, and other films. Most recently, the actress also filmed a clothing brand CF with top star Won Bin, evoking envy amongst others.

To be honest, I wasn’t too nervous, but the staff members were really nervous,” she said. “My stylists and my makeup artists all got really dolled up and were so careful about their behavior throughout my entire shoot. They never did that when they were with me, haha.”

For now, Kang Sora is focusing on advertisements, photo shoots, and the hit MBC program ‘We Got Married‘, in which she is coupled up with with Super Junior leader Leeteuk. But due to the ongoing MBC strike, viewers have unfortunately been unable to properly see Kang Sora interaction with her on-air husband for some time now.

We got really close after we began filming ‘We Got Married’, but we haven’t seen each other in so long that I’m worried it may become awkward when we see each other again,” she said. “Mid-January was the 100-day mark since the day we met, so I prepared something for him, but I couldn’t actually do it.”

The 16th of next month is our 200 days. I will prepare a special event, thinking of Leeteuk oppa,” she said. Viewers are drawn to Kang Sora’s wholesome image showcased on the show, as she is bright and lovely, knowing how to be considerate of others.

I’m actually a rather quiet person and have no aegyo, but I changed a lot after being with him,” she admitted. “He’s a really thoughtful and considerate person. My parents love him, they think he’s the ideal son-in-law.”

Kang Sora began filming ‘We Got Married’ last October, and already 5 months has passed. Fans are most looking forward to their honeymoon episode, which has been pushed back. “I really like going overseas, but I’ve only been to Japan and Singapore. So for our honeymoon, I would really like to go to Europe. Oppa said he wanted to go to Europe too. I really, really, want to go. I need to go pester the staff about this.”

Kang Sora has played a lot of high school student roles since her 2009 debut, and her goal this year is to play some more adult roles.

I want to play some more adult female roles from now on,” she said. “I really like Son Yejin and Kim Min Hee. They are feminine, but still fierce. I want to play some roles like that.”

Jiyeon draws attention for her “naughty hands” on ‘Dream High 2′

Remember the topic of “naughty hands” vs. “manner hands” that have been brought up a few times recently? Well it seems T-ara‘s Jiyeon has been added to the list for her ”naughty hands”, which have been snapped caressing Jinwoon‘s face.

A set of screen caps of the “Jinri (Yoo Jin-Rian) couple” from KBS2‘s ‘Dream High 2,’ who have been receiving a lot of love from fans, have recently been making rounds on the internet. The two stars look very comfortable with each other, and Jiyeon in particular has been catching fans’ eyes for her “naughty hands.”

In one of the photos, Jinwoon is leaning close to Jiyeon with his arm around her shoulder, but it is clear that  he has “manner hands” (his hand is hanging off her shoulder and not touching her body), thereby showing respect for the personal space of his female co-star.

Jiyeon on the other hand, is seen playfully grabbing Jinwoon’s face in the other photo, causing fans to laugh as they add her to the growing list of stars with “naughty hands.”

Netizens who saw the photos showed varying reactions, such as, “Jiyeon’s naughty hands, what are you doing, Jiyeon?” “Jiyeon’s naughty hands; I’m so jealous of her hands” and “Jiyeon’s naughty hands, I think the drama will become even more interesting.”

T-ara’s Jiyeon transforms into a catwoman in ‘Dream High 2′

T-ara‘s Jiyeon, who is currently playing the role of Rian on KBS2TV‘s ‘Dream High 2‘, transformed from a ‘mirror princess’ to a fluffy ‘catwoman’ for the upcoming episode.

Rian is an idol who dreams of becoming an actress but lacks the skills. Because of Rian’s nosy mother, who suddenly attempts remove her suffering daughter from OZ Entertainment, the agency’s president begins to disfavor Rian. Much to her humiliation, Rian ends up being sent to the countryside to sing a congratulatory song for the Miss Apple Pageant.

However, this was not the end of her embarrassment. Rian even had to wear a catwoman mask while singing in front of a loud, hostile crowd. With nothing left but her dignity, it seems that this scene, on top of Rian’s bad acting, will bring viewer’s much laughter.

Meanwhile, on seventh episode of ‘Dream High 2′, which will air on February 20th, Haesung (Kang Sora) will be deciding on transferring schools, while JB, who discovers a new side of Haesung, ends up visiting her home. Also, Rian rides the bus with Eugene (2AM‘s Jinwoon) to attend the Miss Apple Pageant, which coincidentally happens to take place in Haesung’s hometown. With the official start of the love quadrangle, it seems that many viewers are in high anticipation for the upcoming episode.

‘Dream High 2′ begins to develop its love lines

On February 6th, ‘Dream High 2‘ aired its third episode, which showcased the development of love lines between ‘Shin Haesung’ (Kang Sora) and ‘Jin Yoojin’ (2AM‘s Jinwoon), as well as ‘Rian’ (T-ara‘s Jiyeon) and JB (as himself).

In this episode, Haesung and Rian have a scuffle in their room, during which Haesung discovers a photo of Rian’s with her and JB. Viewers immediately became intrigued by this hint of a mysterious past between two of Kirin Arts High School’s top idols.

On the other hand, Haesung and Yoojin — the underdogs of the school — become closer after they eat some ramen together and comfort one another. Yoojin had gotten into a fight of his own earlier, leading Haesung to carefully bandage his face. Haesung’s soft touch causes Yoojin to momentarily drop his guard and give her a shy smile.

There’s potential for a very interesting love square to take place here, with the key player being JB. JB has a mysterious connection to Rian, Haesung’s roommate; Haesung idolizes JB, while Yoojin hates JB; finally, Yoojin seems to be interested in Haesung.

Stay tuned to find out how these love lines develop!

Latest still cuts of ‘Dream High 2′ show differences from the first season

KBS‘s ‘Dream High 2‘ has released new photos that show a dramatic transformation compared to its first season.

The first difference is the school. In season one, ‘Kirin Arts High School’ was known as one of the most luxurious, high-end schools for the industry.  The school takes a downward turn in the second season, looking run down and on the brink of collapse.

A famous entertainment company is threatening to purchase the school in Season 2, forcing the kids to step up their act for survival.

The format has also undergone a change. The first season primarily focused on individual competition, but this time, the focus is on the team. ‘Eden‘ and ‘HershE‘ will be at the center of the competition, with smaller rivalries between Kang Sora, Jinwoon, Jiyeon, and Hyorin.

There’s a bigger diversity in character backgrounds as well. From the talented Kang Sora to Jiyeon, who can’t act out a proper line, to vocalist Hyorin, and finally the rebellious Jinwoon, they all have interesting back stories to share that will help move the plot along.

‘Dream High 2′ airs on January 30th.
