KARA to hold live chat session with fans through me2day

KARA will be holding a live chat session with a a group of lucky fans through their me2day event on September 6th!

Each of the members will be participating in the chat in a relay-style session revealing the lucky winners through lottery themselves. Member Jiyoung posted about the event on her own me2day account, stating, “Let’s chat together!“.

The girls have been showing their efforts to keep in touch with fans despite their extremely busy schedule both in Korea and overseas. As they were unable to communicate with fans until their comeback, they are using this opportunity to make up for the past time. Excited fans are showing their enthusiasm and hoping for a chance to chat with the girls.

Fans will be able to enter for a chance to chat with the girls until September 4th through the me2day mobile application and the winners will be picked on September 5th and announced through Hara‘s me2day account.

KARA is the middle of promotions for their new single ‘PANDORA‘ and is topping music charts in Korea.

KARA‘s Seungyeon and Hara snapped a playful photo together.

On August 25th, Hara uploaded the above picture on her me2day and posted, “I’m sorry for [writing for the first time in a while]. It’s been 4 days since Pandora has opened~~~ Are you guys enjoying listening to it? ^^ Please look forward to a better Hara in the future★!! You guys can still spot me in the picture, right? ^^;;”

The picture shows a close-up of Seungyeon’s face, while Hara can be seen in the background, looking cute as she poses with a peace sign.

Fans commented, “A comical selca with no embarrassment“, “Big Seungyeon is pretty, and I can see Hara far away too“, and “Even though they made a comeback with sexy charisma, KARA are still like [young] girls“.

Meanwhile, KARA released “Pandora” on the 22nd, officially starting their promotions in Korea.

Lee Min Ki and KARA’s Seungyeon and Jiyoung pose like close siblings for ‘Unionbay’

KARA‘s Seungyeon and Jiyoung along with actor Lee Min Ki are receiving attention for a new photo that shows off their close bond, looking very much like siblings.

A photo from the fashion brand ‘Unionbay‘s fall 2012 advertisement was revealed featuring the three stars. The theme for the ad is ‘Play Different’ with the stars showing off their wit and style through their family portrait concept. Staff members were said to have been pleasantly surprised at how well they got along with their playful jokes and skinship during the photo shoot.

A ‘Unionbay’ representative stated, “KARA’s Seungyeon and Jiyoung along with actor Lee Min Ki were selected as the 2012 models for ‘Unionbay’ and recently completed our third ad campaign. They were seen showing their support for each other as the photo shoot progressed which brightened up the atmosphere on set. The day after the photo shoot was Seungyeon’s birthday, and Lee Min Ki didn’t forget and even prepared a surprise gift for her, touching the heart of Seungyeon as well as the staff members.”

Lee Min Ki responds to Suzy choosing him as her ideal type

Lee Min Ki could not hold in his happiness when he found out that miss A‘s Suzy, the “nation’s first love” icon, chose him as her ideal type.

On the August 25th broadcast of KBS2TV‘s ‘Entertainment Weekly,’ a scene from an advertisement featuring Lee Min Ki, KARA‘s Seungyeon, and Jiyoung, was revealed.

Suzy recently mentioned in an interview done with ‘Entertainment Weekly’ that her ideal type was Lee Min Ki. When Lee Min Ki was told about this on this week’s episode, he seemed a little embarrassed, but at the same time, could not hide his smile. He commented, “I am surprised. I caught that interview by chance and I am very thankful. If an opportunity arises it will be nice to film a miss A music video together.”

Seungyeon and Gyuri take selca before KARA’s comeback

KARA‘s Seungyeon and Gyuri took an adorable selca in celebration of the group’s “Pandora” comeback.

On the 22nd, Seungyeon tweeted, “Kkya Start! Thank you for being with us! Our members and Kamilia fighting! Pandora get big~~~,” announcing the start to KARA’s “Pandora” promotions. The attached picture, which shows Gyuri playfully poking Seungyeon’s cheeks, caught the attention of fans.

Followers on Twitter commented, “Twin goddess shot,” “It’s now time that KARA joins the ranks of goddesses, not fairies,” and “They’re good friends.”

Meanwhile, KARA will have their long anticipated comeback stage on the August 24th broadcast of KBS‘ ‘Music Bank‘.

KARA’s Seungyeon explains why the MV teasers were released in a certain order

It turns out the individual teaser clips for KARA‘s new MV were released in a particular order.

KARA held a showcase in Seoul on August 22nd to commemorate the release of new fifth mini-album ‘Pandora‘.

It was here that the girls were asked why the MV teasers were released in the order that they were, and Seungyeon remarked that the reason was rather simple.

“A lot of people asked us about that, but they were released in Korean alphabetic order by our last names,” she said. “I was last, and that made me nervous because I saw all the pretty members go first.”

Talking about the meaning behind their title ‘Pandora’, the girls also added, “In Greek mythology, Pandora is an attractive goddess who has been blessed by all the other gods. Like the name, we hope you show you captivating sides of ourselves.”

KARA releases Seungyeon’s teaser for “Pandora”

After releasing the previous teasers for Jiyoung, Hara, Gyuri, and Nicole, KARA has revealed the last set of teasers featuring Seungyeon!

Similar to the other members revealed, Seungyeon looks like a goddess dressed in a flowy, white dress with black and silver accessories that further emphasize the more mature image the idol is going for with the new comeback.

Seungyeon’s video teaser should be dropping very soon, so stay tuned for the update!

KARA’s Seungyeon has lost her baby fat?

KARA‘s Seungyeon tweeted on August 3rd, “I’m in a good mood today,” along with the selca above. Fans noticed that her cute, baby fat was missing.

In the picture, Seungyeon can be seen with her hair up, showing off her adorable facial features and distinct “V-line”. Despite the fact that she no longer has as much cheek fat, the KARA member definitely still looks younger than her age of 24.

Fans responded, “Seungyeon really lost her cheek fat,” “She looks so young,” “Even without her cheek fat, she’s so pretty,” “She looks mature and gorgeous,” and “Without her baby fat, you can see her profile so well.”

In related news, it’s been announced that KARA will be making their return to the K-pop scene in late August.

KARA’s Seungyeon updates with selca after hospital visit

Kara’s Seungyeon recently posted a bare-faced selca on Twitter along with the words ‘Report of Survival‘.

In the photo, Seungyeon sports a pink baseball cap and a loose-fitting gray top. What’s drawn the attention of most viewers is her bare face, void of make-up.

Netizens who came across the photo responded, “You look really sick”, “The words ‘Report of Survival’ are heartbreaking”, “It’s nice to see you cheery”, “Hurry up and get better~ I want to see you on stage again”, “ You’ve lost so much weight”, and more.

On the 7th, Han Seungyeon was hospitalized for her Acute Anemia just days before a scheduled visit to Singapore.

Three days later on the day of her release from the hospital, she posted on her Twitter, “I’m tired of all the medicine and supplements. I don’t even want to see the shape of a pill anymore. Argh! Back to business the day after tomorrow. Don’t worry about me too much.”

KARA’s Seungyeon hospitalized with acute anemia

 

On the 7th, KARA‘s Seungyeon was hospitalized for headaches and dizziness, all symptoms of acute anemia. KARA was planning to visit Singapore on the 8th to promote their perfume ‘K5J‘. Unfortunately, due to Seungyeon’s hospitalization, only four members will be attending the event in Singapore.

Seungyeon has been suffering from headaches during her recent promotions and as the headaches got worse before leaving for Singapore, she told her agency and has been receiving regular treatment. However, her symptoms got worse and Seungyeon had to cancel her schedules and be hospitalized so she could get complete rest.

Through her agency, Seungyeon stated, “I feel sorry that I can’t keep my promise with fans abroad. I tried to pull off my schedule by going to the hospital and getting treatment[IV], but I’m sad that it didn’t work out. I’ll do my best to rest and get treatment so I can regain my health quickly.”

KARA will return from their signature perfume promotions in Singapore on the 11th and the members will focus on individual activities for a while.

KARA members post goofy selcas to celebrate Kamilia Day

KARA‘s Nicole, Jiyoung, Hara & Seungyeon recently uploaded quirky selcas on each of their official Twitter accounts, sparking laughter from fans around the world.

Viewed without any context, the four photos, which feature the girls all making the same expression, are bizarre to say the least, and had viewers around the world scratching their heads and wondering what the girls were up to.

It turns out that the girls had promised to tweet goofy selcas during a game at a recent fan meet held to celebrate Kamilia Day, which is celebrated on June 11th each year.

Fans replied with amusement, tweeting back, “Still beautiful~“, “Now all we need is Gyuri!” and “Happy Kamilia Day!”

SISTAR’s Hyorin expresses her love for Kang Dong Won

SISTAR‘s leader Hyorin expressed her unconditional love for actor Kang Dong Won!

Cameras for the May 27th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Section TV – Star Ranking‘ visited Hyorin in a waiting room, as the singer had been selected as one of the numerous female celebrities that had selected actor Kang Dong Won as their ideal type.

Hyorin was unable to contain her joy as she was gifted a life-sized panel of the actor to which she immediately hugged.

When asked to say a few words to her rivals who had also chosen Kang Dong Won as their ideal type, Hyorin said, “I don’t know when they started to like Kang Dong Won oppa, but I liked him ever since I was born.”

Hyorin’s rivals included KARA‘s Seungyeon and Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon.

KARA’s Hara shows love for Seungyeon’s pets, Puri and Nubi

KARA member Hara tweeted on May 25, ”I saw Puri and Nubi for the first time in a while! Hello my cutie babies who greet me endlessly… Protect the house well my babies ㅠㅠ Cuties!!! ㅠ.ㅠ I miss Pangie…”

For those who aren’t familiar with these adorable puppies, they belong to KARA’s Seungyeon. It appears that Hara visited her group mate’s home, where she had a little reunion with the two pups.

Followers commented, “We look forward to seeing you at KARASIA,” “That puppy is so lucky to kiss you, I want to be your pet,” and “So cute, are you still in Korea?”

This week’s ‘Running Man’ to have a ‘Wedding Race’ theme

As many of you know, miss A‘s Suzy, KARA‘s Seungyeon and Gyuri, 4minute‘s HyunA, and Krystal of f(x) will be featuring on the upcoming episode of ’Running Man‘.

A few still cuts of the members and the guests were revealed, and have left fans desperately awaiting the new episode.

As it had been hinted in the preview aired during the end of last week’s episode, the girl group members and the ‘Running Man’ members will be partnering up as couples on their wedding day.

Each couple will be racing against each other completing wedding-themed missions such as “dowry preparation”, “wedding photo”, and “wedding march” until the race comes to an end with a large-scale challenge at a wedding hall in Seoul.

2PM’s Taecyeon & KARA’s Seungyeon to host ’2012 Dream Concert’ with ZE:A’s Lim Siwan

We previously reported that ZE:A‘s Siwan would be serving as one of the main MC’s for the ‘2012 Dream Concert‘, and it looks like Taecyeon and Seungyeon will be joining him!

Siwan along with 2PM‘s Taecyeon and KARA‘s Han Seungyeon will be hosting the ‘I Love Korea 2012 Dream Concert’ scheduled to be held at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul on May 12th.

Though this will be Siwan’s first time serving as an MC, he will be focusing on flawlessly hosting the event with Taecyeon and Seungyeon, who have both boasted their MC skills on programs such as SBS ‘Inkigayo‘ and ‘Animal Farm‘.

20 artists in total will be performing at the mega concert, including Girls’ Generation, KARA, T-ara, 2PM, ZE:A, miss A, B2ST, 4minute, 2AM, MBLAQ, SISTAR, SECRET, IU, and more.

The profits made from this concert will be used to help the underprivileged youth. Chairman Kim Young Jin of the Korean Entertainment Producers’ Association who are organizing the ‘Dream Concert’ remarked, “Just as we have done since 2009, we have plans to continue to use the ticket profits from the concert for our ‘Dream Concert Scholarship Fund’ to support our youth.”

Gyuri, Seungyeon, HyunA, Krystal, & Suzy to appear on ‘Survival Race’ episode of ‘Running Man’

We reported previously that KARA‘s Seungyeon and Gyuri, miss A‘s Suzy, 4minute‘s HyunA, and f(x) member Krystal were spotted recording for variety program ‘Running Man‘. The show has now confirmed the news, and announced that there would be some changes in the next episode.

This week’s ‘Running Man – Survival Race’ will be a little different from the original format. Usually, the members race to the finish line, completing a specific mission they were given. However, in the next episode, the members will vote for the one person they want out in each round, and try to eliminate that person within the given time frame.

The targeted individuals may move on to the next round if they’re able to dodge the attacks, but if not, they will be immediately eliminated at the end of the round.

Everyone reportedly looked nervous for the new game, not wanting to target one specific member. But once the game began, they began to scheme elaborate plans to vote each other off.

One member remarked, “I know ‘Running Man’ is a variety program, but not for this episode. I’m going to eliminate everyone.”

KARA’s Seungyeon reveals a depressing tweet?

 

KARA‘s Seungyeon recently took to her Twitter to say good night to fans, before dozing off to dreamland.

On April 29th, she tweeted, “Tonight, I’ve seen and realized much and have a lot on my mind… where could I be right now?  I’m heading towards the right path, right?  I hope I can relax comfortably soon… Good Night.”

Judging from her tweet, it appears that the idol is confused about her career, as it is apparent that she reflected much on her life.  The life of an idol is definitely no joke, as it requires a strong mentality that can support hours of practice and dedication.  It may be that, Seungyeon is undergoing one of the hardest moments of her idol career.

Presale begins for KARA figurines

Presales of girl group KARA‘s figurines have begun!

The final product of the figurines will be based on the concept of their hit song “Mister“.They’ll be available for purchase starting on April 24th. The first still cut of the figures was released online in March, and these dolls have been gaining attention since then because they’ll be the first of their kind to be created and sold in Korea. No other idol group has sold figurines of their members.

Presales of the limited edition dolls began on April 24th in South Korea, and they’re planned to be sold overseas in the near future. The figurines available for presale are the “combination pack”, which includes the figurines of all the members, and individual dolls in “single packs”. These dolls are expected to be a must have for all Kamilia. They’re 12 inches in height, and feature realistic facial expressions.

People are wondering what kind of reactions these KARA figurines will have in the Japanese market as well as with the many fans KARA has in the nation and abroad.

KARA’s Nicole and Seungyeon are twins for ‘Elle’

 

KARA‘s Nicole and Seungyeon have participated in a new pictorial for ‘Elle‘ magazine.

Despite the pictorial’s theme being done under a ‘twin look’ concept, the girls show distinctly different styles while sporting identical hair styles and make up, all while still carrying the same air of mysterious beauty.

The girls had previously stated that no matter how alike they dress on stage, all of the members of KARA have such unique, individual charms that let them stand out amongst each other. The pictorial definitely proves just that in a simplistic manner.

When asked what their favorite beauty items were at the moment, Nicole replied, “I’m into lipsticks these days.”

Man touching Han Seungyeon’s butt in BTS CF photo becomes a hot topic

 

On March 12th, a photo of KARA‘s Seungyeon during a chocolate bar CF shoot was uploaded on an online community board, with the title “Unbelievable picture” and has aroused jealousy among male fans.

Members Han Seungyeon and Goo Hara both participated in the commercial shoot back in December 2011, but has belatedly caught the interest of netizens.

A man taking the role of a soccer player in the CF is seen lying down, while supporting her bottom and feet with his own hands and legs.

Netizens commented, “What did that man do in his previous life to be this lucky?“, “I bet I can hold her up like that for 24 hours“, and “What a weird CF?“.
