KARA members celebrated their number one win on KBS‘ ‘Music Bank‘ with a cute group picture after the broadcast.

On September 7th, Jiyoung tweeted, “Thank you!!” and shared the above picture. She also took to decorating the picture with colorful stars and the word “thanks” to further express her gratitude for the fans that have made the win possible.

The members changed out of their stage outfits and showed off their trendy fashion style as they struck cute poses and V signs in commemoration.

As many of you know, KARA was able to top Psy and win the K-Chart with “Pandora“. The girls also celebrated their win by performing the famous ‘horse riding dance’ for their encore stage.

KARA to hold live chat session with fans through me2day

KARA will be holding a live chat session with a a group of lucky fans through their me2day event on September 6th!

Each of the members will be participating in the chat in a relay-style session revealing the lucky winners through lottery themselves. Member Jiyoung posted about the event on her own me2day account, stating, “Let’s chat together!“.

The girls have been showing their efforts to keep in touch with fans despite their extremely busy schedule both in Korea and overseas. As they were unable to communicate with fans until their comeback, they are using this opportunity to make up for the past time. Excited fans are showing their enthusiasm and hoping for a chance to chat with the girls.

Fans will be able to enter for a chance to chat with the girls until September 4th through the me2day mobile application and the winners will be picked on September 5th and announced through Hara‘s me2day account.

KARA is the middle of promotions for their new single ‘PANDORA‘ and is topping music charts in Korea.

KARA look like goddesses in Gangnam recording for ‘Guerrilla Date’

A few snapshots of the girls of KARA out on the streets of Gangnam have been garnering interest for their goddess-like beauty.

Photos of KARA were uploaded on an online community site with the title, “Today is the Guerrilla Date recording~ KARA in Gangnam Snap Snap!”, along with snapshots of the girls recording for the Guerilla Date portion of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Entertainment Relay‘.

The photos show the KARA members happily conducting an interview on the streets of Gangnam. Fans were in awe at KARA’s beauty and style during the recording.

KARA’s promotional ‘Pandora’ truck spotted around Seoul

KARA is pulling out all the stops for their ‘Pandora‘ comeback promotions. Fans have recently spotted a special KARA truck driving around Seoul!

DSP Entertainment produced a promotional truck for the girls’ fifth album comeback, covering the entire body in ‘Pandora’ album jacket images and installing a large screen LCD TV on the side that constantly plays the music video. Since August 23rd, the truck has been spotted all around Seoul, captivating everyone it comes across.

Jiyoung tweeted about it, writing, “It was my first time seeing it, so I was [amazed].”

Officials revealed that the truck was produced to help bring the public closer to KARA’s new transformation since it is their first Korean comeback in nearly a year. The van will be traveling through Gangnam, Hongdae, Itaewon, Myungdong, and more for a total of 10 popular cities.

Seungyeon and Gyuri take selca before KARA’s comeback

KARA‘s Seungyeon and Gyuri took an adorable selca in celebration of the group’s “Pandora” comeback.

On the 22nd, Seungyeon tweeted, “Kkya Start! Thank you for being with us! Our members and Kamilia fighting! Pandora get big~~~,” announcing the start to KARA’s “Pandora” promotions. The attached picture, which shows Gyuri playfully poking Seungyeon’s cheeks, caught the attention of fans.

Followers on Twitter commented, “Twin goddess shot,” “It’s now time that KARA joins the ranks of goddesses, not fairies,” and “They’re good friends.”

Meanwhile, KARA will have their long anticipated comeback stage on the August 24th broadcast of KBS‘ ‘Music Bank‘.

KARA may need to adjust “Pandora” dance for KBS’s ‘Music Bank’

KARA may face some censorship by KBS ‘Music Bank‘.

With recent concerns about the sexual nature of of KARA’s new song, there may be another road block along the way for the group.

On the 23rd, a representative of ‘Music Bank’ stated, “If we feel the need, we will ask for either the clothes or the dance to be changed.”

The girl group just recently released the MV for their new track, “Pandora“. However, one of their dance moves where they remove their jackets to reveal their backs had become a controversial. Their outfits were short and tight, comparable to a swimming suit, and the way they revealed the backs of their nude colored shirts gave off the illusion of a backless outfit.

The girls performed the choreography at their showcase on August 22nd. Though the outfits may seem innocent enough by themselves, there are a total of 3 instances where the girl group takes off their jackets during the song, and it may not be appropriate for their upcoming KBS2 ‘Music Bank’ comeback stage.

A representative at ‘Music Bank’ stated, “We are more conservative than other broadcasting companies about the nature of clothes and dances, not just for KARA but for all groups. This is because of our broadcast is rated for those 15 years and older. And as much as this has become an issue, we will ask for changes to be made if we feel [the dance] pushes the limitations.”

The rep continued, “We will make our decision after seeing the choreography in person.”

MBC is known to strictly regulate racier performances that are not actually based on the song, and even request outfit adjustments during rehearsals. In the past, 4minute and Rania were both asked to change their choreography because of moves that required the girls to spread their legs, and even KARA’s label mate Rainbow was once censored for their ‘bellybutton dance’.

KARA tops music charts with “Pandora”

Girl group KARA has finally returned with “Pandora“, and has shot to the top of music charts with their latest release!

KARA released their new single “Pandora”, from their 5th mini album, on August 22nd along with their new music video, and ranked #1 on popular music sites like MelOn, Mnet, Olleh Music, among others.The girls also became one of the top searched terms on several search engines like Naver and Daum throughout the day.

‘Pandora’ features an addicting melody and sound that accentuates the charm and charisma of each member. The girls also held a comeback showcase on the 22nd at the Walker Hill hotel and performed ‘Pandora’ and ‘Miss U‘ from their new album, as well as previous hits like ‘STEP‘ and ‘Lupin‘.

KARA’s Seungyeon explains why the MV teasers were released in a certain order

It turns out the individual teaser clips for KARA‘s new MV were released in a particular order.

KARA held a showcase in Seoul on August 22nd to commemorate the release of new fifth mini-album ‘Pandora‘.

It was here that the girls were asked why the MV teasers were released in the order that they were, and Seungyeon remarked that the reason was rather simple.

“A lot of people asked us about that, but they were released in Korean alphabetic order by our last names,” she said. “I was last, and that made me nervous because I saw all the pretty members go first.”

Talking about the meaning behind their title ‘Pandora’, the girls also added, “In Greek mythology, Pandora is an attractive goddess who has been blessed by all the other gods. Like the name, we hope you show you captivating sides of ourselves.”

KARA members discuss diet and exercise for ‘Pandora’ comeback

KARA‘s Gyuri discussed the diet she went through preparing for the group’s ‘Pandora‘ comeback.

During the comeback showcase on August 22nd KST, Gyuri shared, “While preparing for the album, I went on a protein diet for 2-3 months. I was happy that the fans who saw my solo teaser commented that [I lost a lot of weight].”

Nicole commented, “Though it was a goal to lose weight to show a more mature image, we also worked hard for our health and [to tone our bodies],” while Hara joked, “I worked hard to get rid of my description of ‘elementary school kid body’.”

Seungyeon also stated, “We tried hard to [look good for this comeback], whether it be Gyuri’s diet or Hara’s exercise. I hope to show a better side to us musically this album.”

KARA to open a one-day restaurant as a special “Pandora” event

In promotion of their “Pandora” comeback, KARA will be opening up a special one-day restaurant event to serve their fans a feast!

On September 3rd, the girls will be inviting lucky fans to come and eat special dishes prepared by the girls themselves. The event is run in collaboration with Naver Music in an effort to hang out with their fans up close. Fans can earn the chance to attend the event by downloading KARA’s new song through Naver Music and submitting their name for the lottery.

Aside from being served food by the girls, fans can look forward to hearing about how they had spent their days leading up to their comeback as well as several other fun events that are in the works.

KARA‘s maknae Jiyoung shed her cute girl image and showcased her more mature side.

On the afternoon of the 19th, Jiyoung tweeted, “Changed the profile after a long time. Sleep well. It won’t be too long until we see each other,” after changing her Twitter account profile picture to the one above.

Hara and Nicole to leave their ‘Inkigayo’ MC posts for KARA’s comeback

On the 19th broadcast of SBS‘s ‘Inkigayo‘, Hara and Nicole announced their leave from the MC positions on the show to focus on their upcoming comeback.

The girls expressed their thoughts on the matter, stating, “Thank you for letting us build special memories each week“.

Hara stated, “We weren’t perfect, but I genuinely thank everyone for their interest and support. Next week we will come back as Kara. Please stay tuned for our title song ‘Pandora’.”

KARA will release their comeback album ‘Pandora’ along with holding a showcase on the 22nd. The girls will then take to the music program stages to hold their comeback performances and return as members of KARA rather than MCs on the 26th’s broadcast of ‘Inkigayo’.

KARA’s comeback song accidentally leaked on KBS’s ‘Kiss the Radio’

Less than a week away from their comeback, KARA suffered an unfortunate accident on a KBS radio program that prematurely leaked their new song.

On the August 16th broadcast of KBS 2FM’s ‘Super Junior’s Kiss the Radio‘, KARA’s unreleased song was aired prematurely without permission. Through their official Twitter, officials of the radio program stated, “KARA’s unreleased song was aired today. It is the fault of the person that chose the song without checking whether the album had been released yet, as they had only checked to see that it had passed KBS regulations. We ask that the listeners of ‘Sukira’ please not share the day’s recordings.”

PD Jung Hyun Jae additionally wrote on the program’s message board, “I am the person that chose the song, and I would like to apologize to KARA, their representatives, and their fans for causing this ordeal. I am completely at fault for not checking the release date for the song. I cannot express how sorry I am at the thought of them worrying over the song’s leak. I will make sure that this does not happen again. Should I discover a personal recording being shared, I will work to see that it does not get out any further.”

At the moment, the program’s official homepage has ceased its replay service and edited out their list of songs viewers are able to request. Unfortunately, with the song already leaked, there isn’t much else they can do to fix the matter.

A representative of DSP Entertainment expressed, “The water’s already been spilled and there’s nothing we can do now, which makes it all the more upsetting. To prevent this from happening again, we need better security measures but there aren’t policies in place to make it happen.”

Netizens commented, “This is not something that an apology can fix”, “The KARA members must be so upset”, and “How irresponsible”.

KARA releases Seungyeon’s teaser for “Pandora”

After releasing the previous teasers for Jiyoung, Hara, Gyuri, and Nicole, KARA has revealed the last set of teasers featuring Seungyeon!

Similar to the other members revealed, Seungyeon looks like a goddess dressed in a flowy, white dress with black and silver accessories that further emphasize the more mature image the idol is going for with the new comeback.

The pictures above were shared on an online community board with the caption, “Hara parking lot back side“. They show Hara on the set of KARA’s newest music video, and netizens have noticed that her tight pants and cropped top reveal her toned back and slim waistline. Though she’s been previously nicknamed “elementary school kid body” due to her slim build, Hara impressed with her perfect S-line.

KARA sets a ‘black jacket’ dress-code for their upcoming showcase

On the 22nd, KARA will hold the event in celebration of the release of their 5th mini album, ‘Pandora‘. What is special about this showcase however, is that all guests will be required to stick to a dress code.

With this novel concept of having a ‘black jacket’ dress code, all showcase attendees will be required to dress within the theme in order to enter the girl group’s event. In addition, a ‘best dressed’ award will be given to one audience member with the best fashion sense and that individual will receive a prize.

KARA revealed the dress-code announcement on their official fan page on the 13th saying, “We decided to have a dress code so we could become one with our fans”, sparking the curiosity of fans.

Meanwhile, beginning with Jiyoung’s teaser revealed on the 13th, KARA plans to reveal each member’s teaser one by one, counting down the days until their comeback.

KARA releases Jiyoung’s teaser photo for “Pandora”

After teasing us with their group album jacket photo, DSP Media has started releasing the individual teaser photos for KARA‘s upcoming album, “Pandora“, starting with their youngest member, Jiyoung!

Jiyoung takes a 180-degree turn from her usual maknae image, and with her deep makeup and svelte hairstyle, it’s clear that our ‘giant baby’ has all grown up.

Following Jiyoung’s teaser, the photos will be released in the following order: Hara, Gyuri, Nicole, and Seungyeon.

The “Pandora” mini album will be released on August 22.

KARA releases album jacket photo for ‘PANDORA’

KARA has finally unveiled their official album jacket picture for their comeback album, ‘PANDORA‘!

On August 10th, the girls’ official website updated with a group cover for their upcoming fifth mini-album, ‘PANDORA’. Dressed in navy and white outfits with an overall classy and luxurious feel, the girls seem to have completely stepped away from their cute charms to add a mature look to their collection of images.

Unlike their album jacket image, however, the girls promise to show a charismatic transformation on the stage, so fans still need to wait for the full picture.

KARA’s new mini album to be titled “Pandora” and released later this month

The title of girl group KARA‘s new album has been revealed.

According to the girls’ agency DSP Media, the title of their fifth mini-album has been confirmed to be ‘Pandora‘.

The album will consist of five songs in total, including the title track also named “Pandora“. It’s reported that the track was produced by composers Han Jae Ho & Kim Seung Soo, along with Sweetune who have all produced big hits for KARA in the past.

In Greek mythology, Pandora is allegedly known as the first woman made out of clay, and the girls will be reinterpreting the myth to express the most captivating and beautiful woman of this generation.

And like Pandora’s Box (cube from yesterday’s teaser) which consists of a number of secrets, the girls are determined to evoke the curiosity of their music fans with their classic charms.

Their song “Pandora” is a synth-pop dance track that will display KARA’s developed musical talents.

KARA will be performing the song for the very first time at their showcase held August 22nd to commemorate their new album release, and will release the MV the same day.
