KARA to hold live chat session with fans through me2day

KARA will be holding a live chat session with a a group of lucky fans through their me2day event on September 6th!

Each of the members will be participating in the chat in a relay-style session revealing the lucky winners through lottery themselves. Member Jiyoung posted about the event on her own me2day account, stating, “Let’s chat together!“.

The girls have been showing their efforts to keep in touch with fans despite their extremely busy schedule both in Korea and overseas. As they were unable to communicate with fans until their comeback, they are using this opportunity to make up for the past time. Excited fans are showing their enthusiasm and hoping for a chance to chat with the girls.

Fans will be able to enter for a chance to chat with the girls until September 4th through the me2day mobile application and the winners will be picked on September 5th and announced through Hara‘s me2day account.

KARA is the middle of promotions for their new single ‘PANDORA‘ and is topping music charts in Korea.

IU to return to her MC position on ‘Inkigayo’

After three months, ‘Nation’s little sister’ IU will be returning to her MC position on SBS ‘Inkigayo‘, replacing KARA‘s Hara and Nicole, who recently announced their leave with upcoming promotional activities for their newest mini album, ‘Pandora‘.

Park Seung Min PD of ‘Inkigayo’ told Newsen on August 22nd, “Starting this week (26th), IU and Lee Jong Suk will be co-emceeing the show. We will continue with only two emcees for now.”

He added, “Lee Jong Suk is showing improvement since two months ago when he first started as an emcee. He is no longer uncomfortable with the idea of being an emcee and I think he will work well with IU.”

As mentioned earlier this year, IU had temporarily left the MC position on the show to concentrate on her first solo concert in Korea. Having concluded her concert series, the singer has decided to make her return.

Hara and Nicole to leave their ‘Inkigayo’ MC posts for KARA’s comeback

On the 19th broadcast of SBS‘s ‘Inkigayo‘, Hara and Nicole announced their leave from the MC positions on the show to focus on their upcoming comeback.

The girls expressed their thoughts on the matter, stating, “Thank you for letting us build special memories each week“.

Hara stated, “We weren’t perfect, but I genuinely thank everyone for their interest and support. Next week we will come back as Kara. Please stay tuned for our title song ‘Pandora’.”

KARA will release their comeback album ‘Pandora’ along with holding a showcase on the 22nd. The girls will then take to the music program stages to hold their comeback performances and return as members of KARA rather than MCs on the 26th’s broadcast of ‘Inkigayo’.

KARA’s Nicole confesses she has a phobia of appearing on variety shows

KARA‘s Nicole made a surprising confession by revealing that she prefers to avoid appearing on variety programs.

Nicole participated as a guest on the July 21st broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Talk Show Do Dream‘, where she revealed, “I have a phobia of variety programs.”

“I still lack fluency in my Korean, so I have this phobia of appearing on variety shows. I also have a phobia of appearing on Japanese programs ever since we began promotions in Japan two years ago.”

She continued, “I worry whether I’ll make a speech error and am also concerned that people may not understand what I’m saying, so I always end up not talking.”

Upon hearing her confession, fellow guest member Koo Ja Cheol, who is a professional South Korean soccer player, consoled the singer saying, “There’s no need to worry over such a thing. There’s a Japanese player in my team and I asked him about KARA. He told me, ‘They speak Japanese pretty well. It’s also cute when they make a mistake.”

KARA’s Gyuri and Nicole open up about the difficulties of becoming an idol

KARA members Nicole and Gyuri recently participated in a shoot for an upcoming episode of KBS2‘s ‘Do Dream‘ and opened up about the hardships of being an idol star.

Gyuri began, “Before my debut, I was getting ready to sign with one agency and I went with my parents to review the contract. But with the contract, they also prepared an estimate for plastic surgery and said that I would not be able to debut if I did not get work done on my face.”

“I was so upset that they were saying this in front of my parents who gave birth to me,” Gyuri continued. She also revealed another instance she became stressed about her looks when she added, “Later on, when I debuted with KARA, because I look more mature compared to the other members, a lot of people asked why I was in the group and I lost a lot of confidence.”

Fellow member Nicole then shared, “I began learning Japanese about two years ago, and it was so hard to learn another foreign language especially when being taught in Korean, which I was already struggling with. In Japan, I was afraid I would make a mistake while speaking or lose my flow, so I would just not talk all together.”

Ladies of KARA enjoy some Singapore fun at an outdoor swimming pool

Girl group KARA showed off the fun they had playing and swimming at an outdoor swimming pool.

KARA’s maknae Jiyoung uploaded a photo of the group members on her personal twitter on July 14th showing the ladies enjoying a fun time at an outdoor pool in Singapore.

In the photo we can see members Jiyoung, Hara, and Nicole waving happily to the camera while in the pool with a nice exotic background.

KARA was in Singapore promoting their own perfume ‘K5J (Kara 5 Jewel)‘ and returned home on the 11th.

KARA’s Nicole receives a hand-drawn portrait from a fan

KARA‘s Nicole revealed a special present she received from her fan.

On June 18th, Nicole tweeted, “Thank you” along with the picture above that shows the idol holding up the portrait with a sheepish expression.

The striking resemblance between the drawn portrait and the singer drew attention from many fans as they retweeted her tweet as well as replying with their thoughts.

Fans commented, “Nicole’s picture is daebak,” “That picture is a present from someone? fan present? It’s really well drawn.”

KARA members post goofy selcas to celebrate Kamilia Day

KARA‘s Nicole, Jiyoung, Hara & Seungyeon recently uploaded quirky selcas on each of their official Twitter accounts, sparking laughter from fans around the world.

Viewed without any context, the four photos, which feature the girls all making the same expression, are bizarre to say the least, and had viewers around the world scratching their heads and wondering what the girls were up to.

It turns out that the girls had promised to tweet goofy selcas during a game at a recent fan meet held to celebrate Kamilia Day, which is celebrated on June 11th each year.

Fans replied with amusement, tweeting back, “Still beautiful~“, “Now all we need is Gyuri!” and “Happy Kamilia Day!”

KARA’s Nicole attends SHINee member Key’s musical

KARA‘s beautiful member Nicole is known for her multiple celebrity friends, and lately she has been enthusiastically showing them her support.

Last week, she was busy visiting her hoobaes, A-JAX, and also attended her friend IU‘s concert. Now, she has shown her support for a fellow celebrity friend once again. On the 6th, Nicole shared that she had visited SHINee‘s Key.

While attaching a collage of photos, Nicole wrote, “Clap, clap, clap! Our Kibum [Key's real name] did very well >_<. [His musical] was amazing to watch~. Do well for tonight’s final show!” One of the photos in the collage features her and the SHINee member flashing a friendly pose, and a few others showing Key on stage during his “Catch Me if You Can” musical performance.

After having finished up the KARASIA tour recently with the rest of her group members, Nicole seems to be taking the time to visit her friends and check on their activities. Meanwhile, she is still busily hosting SBS‘s Inkigayo along with IU and fellow member Goo Hara. SHINee’s Key on the other hand will soon be delivering his last musical performance along with labelmates Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun and Girls’ Generation‘s Sunny.

KARA’s Nicole attends IU’s ‘REAL FANTASY’ solo concert

KARA‘s Nicole shared that she attended IU‘s opening night of ‘REAL FANTASY‘.

Nicole tweeted on June 2, “[My] IU is the most pretty,” and attached a photo of her ticket to IU’s concert. The ticket was for the opening night of the ‘REAL FANTASY’ concert at Kyunghee University.

IU and Nicole are reported to have become very close after hosting SBS TV‘s ‘Inkigayo‘ together.

Followers commented, “It looks like IU and Nicole are close. She went to see the concert and everything,” “Nicole and IU’s unexpected relationship. They did look like they were friendly with one another on TV,” “I hope your friendship lasts forever,” and “Nicole watched from the first floor.”

KARA’s Nicole supports A-JAX with a surprise visit

KARA‘s Nicole supported DSP Media hoobae group A-JAX by making a surprise visit to their music video filming site.

On May 30, a photo of Nicole posing with A-JAX was posted on A-JAX’s official Facebook page.

To encourage her juniors, Nicole prepared homemade black tea muffins and beverages, brightening up the atmosphere as she passed the treats out to the A-JAX members and filming staff.

Most notably, Nicole paid a visit to the members immediately after returning from finishing her schedule in Japan. Fulfilling her role as a sunbae, Nicole gave tips on eye contact with cameras as well as choreography.

The A-JAX members relayed their appreciation: “Nicole sunbae’s encouragement gave us great strength. We will work hard, and become a group that receives a lot of love like KARA.”

A-JAX is busy preparing for their debut title song, “ONE 4 U“, which will be officially released on June 2.

Actor Lee Jong Suk to join ‘Inkigayo’ as new MC

It has been revealed that actor Lee Jong Suk will be joining KARA‘s Nicole and Hara as the new emcee for SBS‘s ‘Inkigayo‘.

On May 18th, a representative of ‘Inkigayo’ stated, “IU will be absent for due to her concert beginning in early June. Therefore, we have recruited actor Lee Jong Suk to join Nicole and Hara starting on June 3rd. Lee Jong Suk will continue as a MC even when IU returns as MC once she concludes her concert.”

Lee Jong Suk, who gained much popularity for his role on MBC sitcom ‘High Kick 3‘, will be making his emcee debut through ‘Inkigayo’. It is said that he will also be putting on a special performance on ‘Inkigayo’ in celebration of his debut as host.

The rep continued, “Although Lee Jong suk is an actor, we believe his image as a rising young star will suit ‘Inkigayo’ well. He has a lot of interest in music and thus has been decided on for the MC lineup.”

KARA’s Nicole spends time with her “children”

Kara‘s Nicole had some time off on South Korea’s holiday, Children’s Day, which was on May 5th. She went for a walk with her adorable dogs and took a snap shot to share with her Twitter followers.

On May 5th, the idol uploaded the following photo and tweeted, “I came outside with my children too!!!”

Taking full advantage of her rare vacation time, the idol appears to be enjoying a beautiful day with her two puppies. Sporting a very casual outfit, the trio looks like a loving family.

Nicole’s makeup-free selca is a hit

Girl group KARA member Nicole Jung recently tweeted a makeup free photo of herself while enjoying peace and quiet at a local café.

On May 1st, Nicole tweeted about her whereabouts, “I came to this place to eat with my free time. Tastes good, hohoho! I’ll see you guys soon, please look forward to it!”

Nicole’s beautiful flawless skin shines in her photo, while also sporting a plain black t-shirt. Many netizens have come to realize their jealousy for such perfect skin by leaving comments such as “Nicole is so attractive“, “I envy you, a face with no blemishes“, and “Her cute personality has made me jealous.”

KARA’s Nicole visits a pastry shop for some baked goodies

KARA‘s Nicole tweeted on May 1st, “I had some free time so I came to eat. It tastes good. Hohoho! I’ll meet you all later! Look forward to it!”

Nicole shared a selca of herself wearing a simple black t-shirt and no makeup as she visited a pastry shop for some baked goodies. People are commenting that she looks like an average, girl next door in the photo.

Presale begins for KARA figurines

Presales of girl group KARA‘s figurines have begun!

The final product of the figurines will be based on the concept of their hit song “Mister“.They’ll be available for purchase starting on April 24th. The first still cut of the figures was released online in March, and these dolls have been gaining attention since then because they’ll be the first of their kind to be created and sold in Korea. No other idol group has sold figurines of their members.

Presales of the limited edition dolls began on April 24th in South Korea, and they’re planned to be sold overseas in the near future. The figurines available for presale are the “combination pack”, which includes the figurines of all the members, and individual dolls in “single packs”. These dolls are expected to be a must have for all Kamilia. They’re 12 inches in height, and feature realistic facial expressions.

People are wondering what kind of reactions these KARA figurines will have in the Japanese market as well as with the many fans KARA has in the nation and abroad.

KARA’s Nicole and Seungyeon are twins for ‘Elle’

KARA‘s Nicole and Seungyeon have participated in a new pictorial for ‘Elle‘ magazine.

Despite the pictorial’s theme being done under a ‘twin look’ concept, the girls show distinctly different styles while sporting identical hair styles and make up, all while still carrying the same air of mysterious beauty.

The girls had previously stated that no matter how alike they dress on stage, all of the members of KARA have such unique, individual charms that let them stand out amongst each other. The pictorial definitely proves just that in a simplistic manner.

When asked what their favorite beauty items were at the moment, Nicole replied, “I’m into lipsticks these days.”

KARA’s Nicole promotes new movie, ‘My Way’

Photos of KARA‘s Nicole working a part-time job have recently surfaced on the internet.

The above photo was posted on an online community board with the title, ‘KARA girls are part-timers? Nicole, handing out ‘My Way‘ flyers‘.

In the photos, Nicole is wearing a staff jacket that reads ‘My Way’ in Japanese along with a name tag, handing out flyers for the new movie. She looked highly intellectual with her black-rimmed glasses and long wavy hair, garnering the attention of fans everywhere.

Nicole participated in the promotional event for ‘My Way’ which was held in Japan on the 10th. The singer makes a surprise cameo appearance in the movie, and actively worked to promote it’s release.

KARA’s Jiyoung and Nicole spotted wearing matching sweaters

KARA‘s Jiyoung and Nicole surprised fans with a cute Twitter update.

On December 19th, Jiyoung tweeted, “Hey Hey Hey! We’ve finished! Today, I’m wearing matching sweaters with Nicole! Wakatsuki gave these sweaters to us as presents!”

In the photo, Jiyoung and Nicole are seen sporting the same knitted tops, albeit in different colors. Netizens were delighted to see this adorable sister-like shot, which drew up their memories of parents dressing them up in clothes identical to their siblings’.

“Two girls with tons of charm”, “Did you argue over which color you wanted? kekeke”, and “Ah, reminds me of when my mom used to dress us in similar clothes…”, they commented.
