Harisu discusses image and rookies on ‘Park Myung Soo’s Moving TV’





Singer Harisu, who recently made a comeback with “Shopping Girl“, revealed her thoughts on her debut image and upcoming rookies.


On the August 14th episode of ‘Park Myung Soo’s Moving TV‘, Harisu stated, “I’ve already released six albums. I always work hard to give hope to people like me [who are transgendered]. Next year, I’ll be turning 40. I’m hoping hoobaes who are prettier than I am will debut.


She continued, “When I first made my debut, I was given the uncomfortable title of ‘a girl prettier than girls’. Because I know this feeling, I want to take care of my [precious] juniors who debut.


Also during this episode, Harisu made a phone call to her mother-in-law, who stated the singer was “a commendable daughter-in-law“.

Stars to peform at the ’2012 Uljin Music Farm Festival’





A number of South Korea’s top idol groups and musicians will holding an outdoor performance at the ‘2012 Uljin Music Farm Festival‘.


Organized by the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., the Uljin Music Farm Festival will be kicking off its 6th year on August 4th and will last for two days at the Uljin Expo Park in Gangwon-do, Seoul.


Hosted by Koyote‘s Shinji, the first day of the festival will feature Brown Eyed Girls, Nine Muses, Girl’s Day, Heo Young Saeng, Dal Shabet, Younha, Harisu, Dalmatian, and Baechigi.


The line-up for the second day includes Song Dae Kwan, Kim Soo Hee, Kim Bum Ryung, Sung Jin Woo, Kim Yong Im, and Kim Yang as host.

Transgender singer Harisu to make a comeback with new album for the first time in 5 years





Transgender singer Harisu will be making a comeback with a new album for the first time in 5 years.


Harisu will release a full length album ‘Shopping Girl‘ on the coming 9th, after the five year hiatus since her last ‘Winter Special Album‘ in 2007.


Produced in celebration of her 11th year debut, ‘Shopping Girl’ will hold three new songs in addition to seven of her former songs.


Harisu has made many hot issues since her debut as a singer in 2001 and had been active in the music scene until 2007. However, she didn’t produce any music since 2007 and had been focusing on activities overseas.


After hearing about the news of Harisu’s comeback, netizens seemed to be excited by expressing that they can’t wait for her comeback and are anticipating Harisu’s unique shocking performance.

Harisu talks about her life as a transgender on ‘Show King’





TV personality Harisu cleared up some of the misconceptions and rumors surrounding transgenders.


During a recent shoot for channel A’s ‘Show King‘, Harisu discussed living life as a transgender.


When asked if she continues to receive female hormone injections, she replied, “I haven’t since I received gender reassignment surgery in 1995.”


People tend to think that I still receive the injections, however, female hormone injections are only necessary before gender reassignment surgery, so I have not gotten them since,” she explained.


MC Tak Jae Hoon then asked, “I hear transgenders hit menopause sooner than most women, and do not live as long?”, to which Harisu explained, “It is true that we go through menopause much quicker, and both those who have received reassignment surgery as well as those who haven’t, all passed away before the age of 60,” shocking the MCs on set.


Harisu also talked about her first love, and the man that made her decide she wanted to undergo surgery. The episode airs May 16th at 11PM KST.

Harisu is ready for Halloween




Singer Harisu‘s shocking Halloween costume has startled her fans.

Transgender model Choi Han Bit recently shared a photo, via her Twitter page, and wrote, “Halloween party with Harisu unni! She’s simply the best ^^“.

In the photo, different from the makeup-less Choi Hanbit, singer Harisu is ready for Halloween in her shocking costume. One half of her face as well as her hand was covered in red Halloween makeup to look as though she were bleeding from a grotesque injury. She wore a short, silver wig along with red colored-contacts for an overall eerie feel.

Netizens who saw the photo remarked, “I saw this in the dark.  I was shocked“, “Its a bit scary“, “Why isn’t Choi Hanbit dressed up?”, “Your costume is awesome. I hope I don’t run into you on the street“, etc.
