Animal version of ‘Running Man’ members draws much laughter





Recently, a cartoon titled ‘Running Man Animal Version‘ surfaced on the web, and is drawing much attention.


The picture was a portrayal of each cast member of SBS‘s variety program ‘Running Man‘, as an animal that most fits their character on the show.


The illustrator drew Yoo Jae Suk as as a grasshopper, Kim Jong Gook as a tiger, HaHa as a penguin (Pororo), Song Ji Hyo as a cat, Lee Kwang Soo as a giraffe, Gary as a monkey, and Ji Suk Jin as an Impala, highlighting each member’s character with his/her choice.


Netizens responded to the photograph saying, “Running Man animal version, so cute“, “…Their characters are highlighted well“, “…I could tell who each was right away“, “Running Man animal version, the person who made this is fantastic“, “They’re all so fitting kekeke

[SPOILER] The ‘Monday Couple’ makes a small comeback on ‘Running Man’





On the newest episode of SBS‘s ‘Running Man, the cast members with guest Han Ji Min competed to determine who would be Han Ji Min’s true love.


As Song Ji Hyo met up with Han Ji Min, she said “I think Gary has confessed his love to you”, referring to the goal for the episode. Han Ji Min denied this, however, and Song Ji Hyo intercepted the other half of the ‘Monday Couple’ Gary to find out the truth.


“Do you really love Han Ji Min?” she asked, to which Gary responded, “My love is you”. The captions during that particular moment referenced the ‘leftover feelings’ for the ‘Monday Couple’, which came to an end earlier this year when it was revealed that Song Ji Hyo was dating the CEO of her company.

Kim Jong Kook displays his fear of balance beams on ‘Running Man’





Kim Jong Kook, who’s nicknamed ‘Sparta Kook’, has revealed his fear of balance beams!


The July 15th episode of SBS‘s ‘Running Man‘ consisted of guests Shin Se Kyung, Noh Sa Yeon, and Yoo Joon Sang for a ‘Beauty and the Beast’ themed ‘Princess Race’ special.


The ‘Running Man’ cast members were each split up into three teams and were given numerous missions to fulfill at various locations. For the second required mission, team Kim Jong Kook and Ji Suk Jin had to walk across the floating balance beam which was laid across a pool while giving fellow teammate Song Ji Hyo a piggyback ride.


Confident that he’d be able to easily cross the balance beam, Kim Jong Kook was met with the unexpected as he began to stagger immediately upon setting foot onto the path.


His fellow cast members were stunned by the frightened Kim Jong Kook, an image they’ve never see before, and remarked, “Is this really Kim Jong Kook?” Even the production team were surprised by Kim Jong Kook’s reaction as they left a caption for viewers that read, “Even Sparta Kim Jong Kook, the one who reigned over the ‘Running Man’ members, kneeled before the balance beam.”

JYJ’s Jaejoong shares photos from the set of upcoming movie ‘Jackal is Coming’







JYJs Jaejoong shared a comical picture from the set of ‘Jackal is Coming‘.


On June 12th, Jaejoong tweeted, “Sob sob,” and posted the above picture (left). The photo could possibly be a sneak peek at one of the scenes from the upcoming comedy film.


Shortly after, Jaejoong tweeted, “Fighting V,” along with the picture above (right).


Followers on Twitter commented, “You must be filming the movie right now,” “[The drama and now a movie], take care of yourself,” and “You got caught by Ji Hyo unnie? Oh no!


‘Jackal is Coming’ tells the story of a legendary female killer, “Jackal” played by Song Ji Hyo, who kidnaps a top star (Jaejoong).

Yoo Jae Suk wards off zombies with his sense of smell on ‘Running Man’





Yoo Jae Suk isn’t just an ordinary ‘grasshopper’: the nation’s MC has surprised viewers with his keen sense of smell through this week’s episode of Running Man.


On the June 10th broadcast, the cast members of ‘Running Man’ battled each other in a ‘zombies vs. humans’ race on Muui Island. The race began as each members were given the mission to find a treasure, but little did they know that a zombie existed in the group.


The cast members were eventually split into two teams, zombies vs. humans. The zombies were given the mission to eliminate the humans by taking off their name tags, whereas the humans had to go around with water guns and squirt the name tags they suspected as zombies.


However, as human Yoo Jae Suk happened to get closer to zombie Song Ji Hyo, he remarked, “I smell the fragrance of Ji Hyo’s perfume. The smell is really strong,” causing Song Ji Hyo, who was secretly watching Yoo Jae Suk’s every move, to become taken aback.


Viewers were given another round of laughter as the same thing happened again, but at a different location. Yoo Jae Suk, who was unaware of her actual presence, exclaimed, “I smell the fragrance again!

HaHa snaps a photo with Song Ji Hyo and… Gary?







Singer HaHa has lead some fans to mistake North Korean football player Jong Tae Se as Leessang‘s Gary.


On June 8th, HaHa tweeted, “Gary hyung! Wait, no… Popular Jong Tae Se! Ji Hyo… When did you squeeze into the photo?” and attached the picture above.


The photo seems to have been taken during the recording of the June 3rd episode of SBS‘s ‘Running Man‘, which was filmed in Thailand. Fans unfamiliar with Jong Tae Se may have been fooled by the photo, mistaking him as ‘Running Man’ member Gary.


They commented, “I really thought that was Gary,” “I may have believed you if you had said that was Gary,” “I love Jong Tae Se,” “HaHa and Song Ji Hyo are cute,” and more.

Park Ji Sung explains the line on his upper left arm





After the May 27th broadcast of ‘Running Man‘ featuring Park Ji Sung and IU, many netizens have been speculating whether the line on Park Ji Sung’s upper left arm was a tattoo.


The speculation has now been cleared up as Song Ji Hyo questioned the soccer player during the June 3rd episode asking, “Is that a tattoo on your arm?


An embarrassed Park Ji Sung shyly answered, “It’s just a pen mark. During the market race, I was giving an autograph, but it accidentally got on my arm.”


The pen mark had been a huge issue on the web with many assuming that it was a tattoo. After last week’s broadcast, the term ‘Park Ji Sung’s tattoo‘ quickly became one of the top most searched term on various portal sites.

Song Ji Hyo greets the summer season with ‘Yesse’





Song Ji Hyo recently participated in the 2012 summer pictorial for ‘Yesse.’


The well-loved ‘Running Man‘ member showed off her slim body as she smiled happily in the summer themed photoshoot in front of the bright background.


The tropical colors used throughout help bring unity between the backdrop, beach balls, and her bright, printed dress.


Despite her hectic schedule, Song Ji Hyo still found the energy to pose playfully for the camera and work her charms to help make the environment an enjoyable one for the entire staff.


A staff member stated, “Song Ji Hyo was like the human vitamin for this pictorial with her wide smile and cheerful attitude. She really shined through. We got to see another charm of Song Ji Hyo that we could not see back in winter, and we all had a great time at the photo shoot.”

‘Running Man’ reveals viewer poll results regarding cast





The latest episode of Running Man revealed the results of a recent online survey that viewers took regarding the show cast.


The May 6th broadcast of ‘Running Man’ began with a slightly different format under the special ‘Survival Race‘. The members were each instructed to vote for the one person they wanted out in each round. The person with the most votes would be targeted and the other members would have to try to eliminate that person within the given time frame.


Before voting, the PD of the show announced the results of an online survey that had recently taken place.


The first survey asked viewers which super-power they preferred to have. Song Ji Hyo‘s ‘mind controller’ topped the list with 65.9% of votes. Second place was given to HaHa‘s ‘time controller’ with 15.5% of votes, followed by Yoo Jae Suk‘s ‘space controller coming in at 3rd. Kwang Soo‘s ‘death note’ had ranked last with a mere 1.2% of votes.


According to the VJs (cameramen), the best runner in ‘Running Man’ is ‘commander’ Kim Jong Gook and 2nd place going to both ‘ace’ Song Ji Hyo and the ‘nation’s grasshopper’, Yoo Jae Suk.


Lastly, the survey results ranking the member’s appearance, excluding Song Ji Hyo, was revealed. However, instead of revealing the results to the members, they revealed it to the viewers by adding in colored number captions above their heads (See above photo for results).

Lee Kwang Soo selected as the ‘Running Man’ member with naughty hands?





Lee Kwang Soo has been noticed for his “naughty hands”.


During the opening of the April 29th episode of SBS‘s ‘Running Man‘, Song Ji Hyo had accidentally spilled tea on herself after being bumped by Ji Suk Jin.


Lee Kwang Soo immediately reacted by stretching out his hands toward Ji Hyo’s chest with a napkin. However, upon seeing where his hands were headed, the ‘Running Man’ cast members were brought into uncontrollable laughter.


Yoo Jae Suk remarked, “What are you doing?” to which Kwang Soo replied, “Because she’s like a family to me…” Taken aback, Song Ji Hyo immediately shot back saying, “Family… You’re not…” and caused the set to burst into laughter.


Meanwhile, the ‘Running Man’ members and guests J.Y. Park and Chun Jung Myung were each split into three teams and given a mission to deliver Chinese black bean noodles, aka ‘Jjajangmyun Race’.

‘Running Man’ staff denies rumors of Song Ji Hyo leaving the show





With rumors of Song Ji Hyo leaving SBS‘s ‘Running Man‘ rapidly circulating, fans of the show have been left devastated and worried. Although the staff of ‘Running Man’ previously stated that “nothing has been confirmed”, the vague response seemed to have done nothing to alleviate concerns. Staff stepped forward with another response, taking a firm stance denying the rumors, much to the relief of viewers.


On April 21st, a representative of ‘Running Man’ had an interview with Star News and assured, “We have never heard about Song Ji Hyo leaving ‘Running Man’.  Furthermore, we have never discussed the matter of Song Ji Hyo leaving with her agency.


Rumors about the actress’ departure from the show started circulating fast as media outlets reported that Song Ji Hyo may have her hands full with a new movie called ‘Jackal is Coming‘.  Aside from Song Ji Hyo’s current activities with various films, she has earned a spot on ‘Running Man’ as the “Ace” of the show for her clever tactics. She’s also well-known for her dynamic with “Monday Couple” partner Gary, making her an irreplaceable character.

Song Ji Hyo to leave ‘Running Man’?





Rumors of Song Ji Hyo leaving ‘Running Man‘ has stemmed after the actress was confirmed as the lead character alongside JYJ‘s Jaejoong for the upcoming film, ‘Jackal is Coming‘.


According to her agency, C-JeS Entertainment, the actress has already completed the first script reading and is preparing to begin filming for the movie. Due to her being cast as a lead character, the possibility of the actress leaving ‘Running Man’ has been up in the air. Song Ji Hyo has been giving viewers much laughter on the weekly variety program with her “ace” character as well as being part of the “Monday couple” with Gary.


According to a representative of ‘Running Man’, they have revealed that nothing is set in stone as of yet. Last year, Song Ji Hyo was cast in the MBC historical drama, ‘Gyebaek‘, but was able to balance her schedule and continue filming the variety program.


Hopefully Song Ji Hyo won’t be leaving ‘Running Man’, the show won’t be the same without her!

JYJ’s Jaejoong and Song Ji Hyo cast for comedy film, ‘Jackal is Coming’





JYJ‘s Jaejoong and Song Ji Hyo have been cast as the lead characters for the upcoming film, ‘Jackal is Coming‘!


On April 20th, C-JeS Entertainment confirmed that the two completed their first script reading on the 18th and are preparing to begin filming for the movie.


Having already had his acting talents recognized through his drama, ‘Protect the Boss‘, Jaejoong will be expanding his acting career this year by taking on both ‘Jackal is Coming’ and his MBC drama, ‘Time Slip Doctor Jin‘.


A representative of C-JeS Entertainment expressed, “Upon reading the scenario for ‘Jackal is Coming’, Jaejoong himself showed an interest in trying a comical character. As it is a comedy film, he said that he wanted to portray his character as humorously as possible.”


They continued, “Song Ji Hyo also has strong affections for the film. Since it will mark her first big screen comeback in a while, she’s expecting to have a lot of fun on the set.”


‘Jackal is Coming’ is about a clumsy killer (played by Song Ji Hyo) who kidnaps a popular singer and tries to murder him in various ways while keeping back the police.
