The ‘Infinity Challenge’ specials that could have been…

It turns out there may have been some special episodes of ‘Infinity Challenge‘ that were planned, but never got to air.

Netizens recently posted some photos on an online community board with the title, ‘The ‘Infinity Challenge’ Special’s that didn’t Happen‘, and shared the names of various guests that ‘Infinity Challenge’ tried to invite on their show.

Taking a look at the photos, there are a number of stars from all around the world, from movie stars to musicians to sports players. The photos tell us that in 2008, actor Keanu Reeves came to Korea to promote his movie ‘Street Kings‘ and in 2009, Tom Cruise and Lady Gaga were in Korea and plans were made to have them appear on the program, but it never actually happened. Also on that list of celebrities were NBA star Kobe Bryant, Korean soccer phenom Park Ji Sung, former Korean American NFL wide receiver Hines Ward, and track and field Russian athlete Isinbayeva.

In addition to the big-name celebrity appearances, there were also plans for other specials events such as putting together a choir, creating a musical with the songs of veteran singer Jo Young Pil, and taking the Korean college entrance exams.

No one knows for sure if these plans were actually made, and why they fell through, but netizens who saw the photos commented, “What a disappointment, we could have seen Tom Cruise“, “There were a lot of big plans in the works“, and “If all of these plans came to fruition it would have been amazing.”

Psy displays his close friendship with Park Ji Sung

Performer and artist Psy recently displayed his close friendship with soccer star Park Ji Sung on the latest episode of MBC‘s ‘Section TV Entertainment Relay‘.

In an interview after a concert, he mentioned that he was close to the former Manchester United player. “Park Ji Sung participated in the album teaser video as a surprise,” he related. “I thought the general manager [for Park Ji Sung] wouldn’t like it if I were too close, so I kept our friendship a secret.”

Psy also sent a video message to Park Ji Sung, promising a visit someday. “Like I promised, I’ll go cheer you on sometime,” he said. “After the season ends, let’s go have a drink together.”

‘Running Man’ cast meets up again with Park Ji Sung

The cast of SBS ‘Running Man‘ recently held a private meeting with former guest and soccer star Park Ji Sung after promising to see each other again after filming.

“They had promised to meet again after filming in Thailand,” said a representative for the variety program. “It was a simple dinner but Park Ji Sung and the ‘Running Man’ cast were very pleased to be with each other again.”

The Manchester United player recently guested on the program, which hit its climax with a momentous soccer match at the Thailand Dream Cup. “Since Park Ji Sung would be staying in Seoul for a while, they decided to meet again,” said producer Cho Hyo Jin.

The ‘Running Man’ cast is known to meet with each other privately, outside of their weekly filming dates. “Although we shoot every other week, the cast often gets together on weeks without filming. This meeting with Park Ji Sung also occurred naturally.”

Park Ji Sung is currently enjoying his break from professional soccer in Seoul.

HaHa confesses his love for Park Ji Sung

Singer/Entertainer HaHa confessed his love for soccer player Park Ji Sung.

On the night of June 7th, HaHa humored the fans by tweeting, “Jisung. Our Jisung. Hyung misses you a lot. Ha….I lo..lo..lov..lo…love you!!! I like you more than most girls!” with the above picture.

The revealed picture shows HaHa and Park Ji Sung side by side, smiling for the camera. The two guys got to know each other when Park Ji Sung recently guest starred in SBS‘ ‘Running Man‘.

After seeing the tweet, netizens responded, “I laughed so hard. HaHa’s love seems too easy“, “The two must have gotten really close“, “The two should date“, and “I want Park Ji Sung to become a fixed member on ‘Running Man’.”

Park Ji Sung explains the line on his upper left arm

After the May 27th broadcast of ‘Running Man‘ featuring Park Ji Sung and IU, many netizens have been speculating whether the line on Park Ji Sung’s upper left arm was a tattoo.

The speculation has now been cleared up as Song Ji Hyo questioned the soccer player during the June 3rd episode asking, “Is that a tattoo on your arm?”

An embarrassed Park Ji Sung shyly answered, “It’s just a pen mark. During the market race, I was giving an autograph, but it accidentally got on my arm.”

The pen mark had been a huge issue on the web with many assuming that it was a tattoo. After last week’s broadcast, the term ‘Park Ji Sung’s tattoo‘ quickly became one of the top most searched term on various portal sites.

Park Ji Sung kept his promise to IU by attending her concert

 

Soccer player Park Ji Sung kept the promise he made to IU.

IU held her first solo concert ‘Real Fantasy‘ on June 3rd at Kyung Hee University’s Peace Hall and Park Ji Sung was present. The reason Park Ji Sung came was because he made a promise with IU on SBS’ ‘Running Man‘.

At the start of the second half of her concert, IU said, “There is a very special guest present today in the audience. We met through SBS ‘Running Man’ and I asked him to come to my concert and I am very grateful that he came.”

Park Ji Sung was then surprised when he was suddenly shown on the electronic display board. He was initially shocked, but then smiled and waved.

Netizens who heard Park Ji Sung went to IU’s concert commented saying, “Did you give up on the Mysterious Park Ji Sung? He has great manners“, “I guess Park Ji Sung is an uncle fan too“, ”I would be so nervous if Park Ji Sung was present at my concert“, and “A successful fan“.

Yoo Jae Suk has to buy IU a car?

The nation’s MC has recently been put under a sticky situation where he may have to buy IU a brand new car as a late birthday present.

The May 27th episode of SBS‘s ‘Running Man‘ consisted of IU and Park Ji Sung as guests for a “super-power” soccer competition and a race in Incheon.

After successfully completing a soccer match, the cast members headed for breakfast at a sushi restaurant. As they waited for their order to arrive, HaHa jokingly recommended Yoo Jae Suk buy IU a car saying, “It was IU’s birthday not too long ago and I heard she’ll be getting her driver’s license soon. Hyung (Yoo Jae Suk), I think it’ll be perfect if you bought her a car.”

Flustered, Yoo Jae Suk replied, “Alright, let’s buy her a car then! Let’s each pitch in 10 million won (approximately $8,440.24 USD)!” However, IU later surprised the MC by saying, “Oppa, I’ll enjoy my new car.”

When asked what present the Manchester United midfielder would be giving, Park Ji Sung answered, “I’ll buy her a seat cover for the new car,” causing everyone to laugh out loud. Big nosed hyung Ji Suk Jin also added, “If Jae Suk buys you a car, I’ll tint the car for you.”

‘Running Man’ reveals details for this week’s episode with Park Ji Sung

As mentioned previously, Park Ji Sung will be appearing on the upcoming episode of ‘Running Man.’

Soccer sensation Park Ji Sung of Manchester United will be assigning a special mission to the members for a different race from the usual.

The fixed cast members of ‘Running Man’ will be waiting at different places in Seoul and will receive special instructions from the soccer player himself. This week, the members will have to set out to find Running Man #8, #9, #10, and#11 hidden around the city to complete their mission.

A staff member from the show is reported to have said that viewers should especially look forward to who the 11th Running Man will be.

The members stated, “Even though this mission is hard, it’s different and fun.”

It is assumed that Park Ji Sung and the ‘Running Man’ members in Thailand episode will be coming up later on, with this being the pilot episode to the upcoming Park Ji Sung special.

SBS ‘Running Man’ to depart for Thailand on May 22

As reported previously, rumors have been flying around that the cast and crew of SBS‘ popular variety program, ‘Running Man‘ were planning a return outing to Thailand alongside famous soccer star Park Ji Sung. It looks like those rumors have been confirmed, and another overseas episode seems to be in the works!

An industry insider confirmed the news, saying, “The ‘Running Man’ team will leave for Thailand on the 22nd and the 23rd. The filming dates were scheduled to line up with the 2nd Annual Asian Dream Cup,” he said. “The footage with Park Ji Sung and the members is scheduled to be broadcast on the 27th.”

As for a previous ‘Running Man’ filming with idol groups MBLAQ and SISTAR, the producers of ‘Running Man’ kept tight lid about the details. “MBLAQ and SISTAR completed their ‘Running Man’ filming on the 7th,” they said. “The footage from that filming, as well as the upcoming footage with Park Ji Sung, is part of one larger project.”

SBS ‘Running Man’ to re-visit Thailand in upcoming episode with soccer player Park Ji Sung?

Nearly one year after SBS‘ ‘Running Man‘ shot a dazzling race in Thailand, reports have surfaced that the popular variety program will be returning to the country to shoot another foreign episode! That’s not all, however, for the upcoming episode will also feature one of the biggest names in the soccer world, Park Ji Sung of Manchester United.

An insider confirmed the news, saying, “We are crossing over to Thailand on the 20th for a ‘Running Man’ shoot with Park Ji Sung,” he said. “The members will also be traveling to Thailand.”

The filming was scheduled to coincide with the 2nd Annual Asian Dream Cup, which will be held in Thailand on the 23rd. One of the reasons why ‘Running Man’ decided to film there was to spread the awareness of the Dream Cup, the insider revealed.

However, another report has indicated that the filming will occur on the 20th at the Sangam World Cup Stadium in Seoul.

The producers of ‘Running Man’ took a neutral stance, saying, “If you watch next week’s broadcast, everything will be made clear. There are several confusing situations going on, so we can’t reveal the details yet.”

Since Park Ji Sung is known to be a fan of the urban-action variety show, catching the broadcast every week in the United Kingdom where he trains, viewers are looking forward to seeing the athlete’s competitive edge surface during the race.
