Younha snaps a quick selca in her ‘I Am a Singer 2′ waiting room

Solo artist Younha has recently shared a few selcas she took while on standby in the waiting room of MBC‘s ‘I Am a Singer 2‘.

The photos were taken during Younha’s first recording for the singing program back on August 6th. In the revealed photo, the singer is seen wearing a white, strapless tube top dress that exposes her collarbone, captivating netizens with her flawless beauty.

The photos drew comments like, “It seems like Younha ages backwards“, “She has a sexy figure and a cute face“, and “Looking forward to her performance on the program!”

Meanwhile, Younha will be holding her comeback concert at the Art Hall inside Lotte Hotel in Busan on August 11th.

Younha to join MBC’s ‘I Am a Singer 2′

It has been announced that singer Younha will be joining the cast of MBC‘s ‘I Am a Singer 2‘ and is currently preparing to begin her first recording.

The decision was made after much contemplation and numerous meetings with PD Kim Young Hee of ‘I Am a Singer 2′. It is also rumored that the PD visited Younha several times during her live radio programs in order to cast the singer. Born in 1988, the singer will be the youngest cast member to perform on the program.

A representative of MBC’s radio station revealed, “Not too long ago, Younha resumed her activities after making a comeback with her new album. I know that she had a lot on her mind as this is her first comeback in a while. She made her decision to join the cast of ‘I Am a Singer 2′ in order to show the public her true potential.”

Younha will begin her first recording on July 6th at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan.

Sweet Sorrow to make their first appearance on ‘Immortal Song 2′

A cappella group Sweet Sorrow will be making their first appearance on KBS‘s ’Immortal Song 2‘!

This week’s summer special will feature not only regulars like Super Junior‘s Ryeowook, Ulala Session, Sonya, Ailee, INFINITE‘s Sunggyu, Younha, and Hong Kyung Min, but new performers including Sweet Sorrow, 2PM‘s Junsu, 8Eight‘s Lee Hyun, Cha Ji Hyun, and At.

Well-known for their wit and amazing a cappella skills, Sweet Sorrow’s first performance will showcase the group’s powerful vocals and harmony with Shim Soo Bong‘s hit from the 80′s, “Young Sun“, on this week’s broadcast.

The broadcast will also feature a surprise guest, comedienne Shin Bora, in an exciting duet performance with Ailee. The summer special will run on July 21st and July 28th, so keep your eyes open for some fresh new performances!

Netizens suspect Younha of being in a relationship

Singer Younha recently posted a tweet that instantly caught the attention of netizens.

On July 8th, Younha wrote via her Twitter page, “A very, very grateful day! They said that the world would sparkle when you’re in love, and even this night sky right now is glistening so bright it’s hurting my eyes!”

It seemed as though Younha was happily tweeting about a potential new relationship, and it garnered interest from her fans everywhere.

“Unni are you dating?”, they asked, in addition to “Suspicious…“, and “Maybe she’s just happy.”

Younha thanks her ‘Starry Night’ fans for their support

After officially releasing her fourth album ‘SUPERSONIC’ via MBC‘s radio show ‘Starry Night’, Younha has revealed her thoughts on her comeback.

On July 3rd, Younha wrote to her fans via Twitter, saying, “‘Starry Night’ family and fans, I wanted you to be the very first to hear [my song]. I forgot to say this most important thing during broadcast: Thank you so so much for letting me be able to sing.”

As Younha herself has said, it seems that the solo artist was keen on making sure her ‘Starry Night’ coworkers and fans would be given the privilege to hear her new batch of songs first. She she released her album via the radio show at midnight on July 3rd. Prior to broadcast, her company even hinted on their official blog about the event so that Younha fans could take a listen.

Younha to include a duet with Jay Park in comeback album

Younha has revealed that she’ll be including a duet song with Jay Park in her upcoming fourth album, ‘Supersonic‘!

Hot soloist Jay Park is said to be featured in the track “verDriver“, a song that harmonizes Younha’s vocals with Jay Park’s emotional rap parts on a bed of piano melodies.

A representative of Younha’s agency explained, “Jay Park personally participated in writing the lyrics and rap parts for his duet with Younha. It’s a very chic song with powerful pop sounds. A lot of other famous artists have also participated in Younha’s fourth album, so we ask for your continuing expectations.”

Younha reveals more details about her 4th album + comeback concert next month

Solo artist Younha, who will be releasing her 4th full-length album ‘SUPERSONIC‘ on the 22nd, is working hard to prepare for her comeback concert taking place on July 28th.

Ahead of the release of her new album, Younha opened a teaser site (www.wealive.co.kr) on June 21st to express her gratitude to the fans that have been waiting for her return. Her 4th full-length album will contain a total of twelve songs, including the duet song with John Park, “Would We Have Changed“, which was pre-released on June 15th.

Anticipation is high for Younha’s comeback as this will be her first album since a year and half ago. To commemorate her comeback, the singer is also scheduled to hold a live concert on July 28th at the Melon AX-Hall in Seoul.

Meanwhile, Younha made a special guest appearance on the June 16th broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Immortal Song 2‘ and performed a powerful rendition of Yang Hee Eun‘s “Follow Your Dreams“, leaving fans anticipating her comeback even more.

Super Junior’s Ryeowook + Younha perform on ‘Immortal Song 2′

Super Junior‘s Ryeowook displayed his singing talent for June 16th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Immortal Song 2′. The contestants on this episode paid tribute to Yang Hee Eun, the godmother of Korean female folk music.

Following behind the footsteps of fellow Super Junior members Yesung and Kyuhyun, who have previously performed on KBS‘s ‘Immortal Song: Legendary Folktale Songs’, Ryeowook sang a cover of Yang Hee Eun‘s “White Magnolia” for the popular show.

Before performing, Ryeowook calmly explained to the audience, “[Because] I personally like Yang Hee Eun sunbae-nim’s song, I will deliver my own version of it.“ He proceeded to then display a singing ability that seemed more remarkable than what he has shown through previous idol activities. The audience members as well as fellow singers listening in the waiting room were reported to be shocked with his great performance.

Additionally, singer Younha who is set to release her fourth album ‘SUPERSONIC‘ on June 28th also made a special guest appearance on the show. She performed “Follow Your Dreams” while also playing the guitar.

Hong Kyung Min won on this episode with 390 votes compared to Sonya’s 386.

Singer Younha has pre-released her new song “Would We Have Changed” featuring John Park.

Younha who released her last album back in December of 2010 has returned to her fans with a much more mature sound and will be dropping her newest album June 28th. Ahead of her album, Younha has pre-released the song “Would We Have Changed” featuring her friend and soloist John Park. The artists’ clear and powerful vocals well-harmonize in the song that will be sure to touch the hearts of listeners this summer.

“Would We Have Changed” sings of painful breakups and late regrets, and asks ‘would we have changed’, had I reached out to grab you one last time.

Younha to pre-release a duet with John Park from upcoming 4th album

Singer Younha, who recently delivered the news of her upcoming comeback, will be kicking off her fourth album activities with a pre-release of a duet on June 15th.

The duet, titled “Would We Have Changed“, will be a collaboration with John Park, and is sure to showcase the harmony of Younha’s soft and bright voice with John Park’s emotional vocals.

Younha revealed, “I think John Park is a special vocalist with his deep and emotional voice…After hearing ‘Falling‘, I decided I wanted to work with him so I proposed the idea.”

The singer’s much anticipated duet with John Park, “Would We Have Changed”, will be released on the 15th, followed by the rest of her album on June 28th.

Singer Younha attends Memorial Day event as citizen representative

Singer Younha attended South Korea’s 57th Memorial Day event, held at the National Cemetery in Seoul on June 6, as an official citizen representative.

Younha, whose grandfather was one of the many honored, commented, “I participated in the Memorial Day event for the remembrance of the martyrs and fallen heroes [who have died for our country]. I want to dedicate this event with a thankful heart to those who have sacrificed and devoted themselves for our country.”

She added, “I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to be reminded once again of what Memorial Day stands for.”

In related news, Younha is currently preparing for her comeback with her fourth album.

Younha explains why she was off-key during baseball game performance

Singer Younha explained the reason behind her recent slip-up during a performance at a baseball game.

She tweeted on June 1st, “Ah, I couldn’t keep my rhythm because of the sound delay in the baseball stadium. LG Twins and Hanhwa Eagles fighting! Show us a good match!”

Younha sang the South Korean national anthem at the baseball game on June 1st. Reports say that after she sang the first few lines of the song, Younha’s voice started to falter a bit, and during a particularly high portion of the anthem, she sang off-key. However, she quickly recovered from the error, and finished her performance to much applause. It seems the singer was caught off due to the sound delay and faltered on some of her notes while struggling to keep up with the rhythm.

Followers on Twitter commented, “Everyone already knows how talented Younha is so her mistake was cute,” “It’s easy to sing off-key at a baseball stadium”, and “It’s adorable that she personally posted an explanation.”

Younha to appear on ‘Immortal Song 2′ + release a new album

Singer Younha will be making a special appearance on KBS’ ‘Immortal Song 2‘.

On the afternoon of May 31st, a staff member at Younha’s agency told OSEN, “Younha will be appearing on ‘Immortal Song 2′.  She will not be a fixed cast member, and is only making a special appearance.”

Younha will appear on the June 4th recording of ‘Immortal Song 2′ for the Yang Hee Eun special. The song that Younha will sing will not be revealed until the broadcast.

With the contract dispute with her former agency taken care of, the singer will release a new album next month and will start actively promoting.

Meanwhile, Younha is currently a DJ on MBC FM’s ‘Starry Night.’

Singer Younha wanted to meet President Barack Obama

Singer Younha wants to meet U.S. president, Barack Obama.

President Barack Obama is in South Korea to attend the second Nuclear Security Summit which takes place in Seoul on March 26th and 27th.

On the first day at around 10:20 AM, in the Minerva Auditorium of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Obama was scheduled to give a speech about ‘Korea’s role in the International Community‘.

Younha who recently graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies was thrilled about the news and left a tweet stating, ”Woah! Obama’s speech about foreign studies.  I just graduated… Oh well, it must be hard to get in even if you’re a current student“.

Out of the 20,000 plus attending the school, only 700 students had the privilege of being allowed in the auditorium to listen to President Obama and also ask him questions.

Younha bursts into tears after third mediation with Lion Media fails

On October 12th, the court attempted for the third time to mediate conflicts between Younha and her agency, Lion Media, but unfortunately met with failure once again.

Both parties appeared in front of the Seoul Central District Court in an attempt to come to an agreement with regards to a lawsuit Younha filed against Lion Media (Lion Media had responded with a countersuit).

Dressed in a black suit, Younha appeared looking very dejected. The one-hour long arbitration required that both parties take turns every 10 minutes to submit their opinions to the court. Afterwards, both parties were brought in to discuss the possibility of a settlement.

Younha was seen coming out of the room to have a moment to herself. Collecting both hands in front of her as she sat in a chair, she tried to calm down her nervous feelings. Unfortunately, the pressure seemed to be too much for her, as she eventually apologized to reporters and her staff with a short, “I’m sorry,” and burst into tears.

Lion Media’s lawyers spoke with reporters after the meditation and stated, “Both parties tried very hard to work on the differences in opinions, but it seems a battle in the court is unavoidable at this point. Younha’s representatives are adamant about their positions, leaving no room for us to work with. We, too, do not want to give in.”

Younha’s lawyers stated, “We have nothing to say. It’s a sensitive issue and we promise to put out a statement as soon as everything’s resolved.”
