Shinhwa snaps a group photo after Singapore concert







The Shinhwa members snapped a group photo in the waiting room backstage upon completing their concert in Singapore for ’2012 Shinhwa Grand Tour: The Return‘.


On June 17th, Shinhwa Company attached the above photo on Twitter on wrote,  ”Thank you to the awesome fans who helped us give an awesome performance for ‘SHINHWA 2012 Grand Tour in SINGAPORE’! Jin and Andy say they are very spirited right now!”


In the released photo, the members show off their handsome looks and charisma while wearing a white outfit. Specifically, Eric, Andy, and Hyesung have their thumbs up while Junjin, Dongwan, and Minwoo flash a ‘V’ sign towards the camera.


Followers who saw the photo commented, “They are the leaders of the Hallyu Wave” and “They even took a group photo for the fans! Their fan service is the best!”

Shinhwa to put on a hidden camera show against Eric on ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’





The Shinhwa members have teamed up to put on a hidden camera show against their leader Eric.


The June 16th episode of jTBC‘s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast‘ will feature the special, ‘Vacation Channel – The God of MT’. On this episode, the Shinhwa members will have their first ever MT (“membership training” – usually an event held in schools where students go on an overnight trip to further bond with one another).


The Shinhwa members will participate in challenges against each other during the membership training to be crowned the “God of MT”. As the Shinhwa members travel to Chuncheon for the MT, the members and the producers will cooperate with each other to deceive Eric for a hidden camera show.


In order to prepare, the Shinhwa members reportedly came in two hours before the scheduled recording, and came up with the idea to make Eric bear all the punishments for the day by craftily making him the loser of every game.


The members practiced their acting skills during their meeting and remarked, “The hidden camera won’t be easy because Eric is like a fox“.

Andy and TEEN TOP introduce their new junior group, ’100%’





T.O.P. Media CEO Andy has unveiled his second idol group following TEEN TOP named ‘100%‘.


On June 12th, Andy, TEEN TOP, and the members of 100% held their production conference for their new joint SBS MTV show, ‘TEEN TOP’s Rising! 100% – Issue and War‘.


Andy revealed, “The members of 100% joined the company as trainees before TEEN TOP but TEEN TOP ended up debuting first. I feel that it was because of right timing that we have TEEN TOP and 100% where they are. Like Shinhwa, I hope that 100% will be a group that lives a long career.”


Comprised of Minwoo, Rokhyun, Jonghwan, Hyukjin, Chanyong, Sanghoon, and Changbum, the group is preparing for an August debut with a unique and powerful performance style that focuses on their vocals. Their debut variety show will show the boys undergoing various missions as they strive to make a name in the industry ahead of their debut.


When asked how they’ll be going about the program, TEEN TOP responded, “If we fail, the opportunity goes to 100%. Whether or not they’re our juniors, we’re more focused on getting our own names out there. We have to reach the top ourselves so we don’t have the luxury of turning around to look back.”


100% responded, “The TEEN TOP seniors work so hard so we’re not sure if the opportunities will come to us but we’re also preparing just as hard right now.”

Shinhwa’s Andy becomes the host of entertainment news program, ‘K-Star News’





Shinhwa‘s Andy has been selected to lead an entertainment news program.


Andy began hosting SBS E! ‘K-STAR News‘ as of June 4th. Thanks to his experience hosting a program during his military career, Andy is expected to fulfill the role well with witty commentary and smooth transitions.


‘K-STAR News’ is a global entertainment magazine news program that airs the hottest news from Monday to Thursday.


“I am nervous to be hosting a live program, but I am excited at the thought of meeting with the viewers everyday. I will do my best to host the show as smoothly as possible,” the singer said.

Shinhwa members gather for a samgyupsal party after Tokyo concert





Shinhwa held a samgyupsal (pork belly) party after their recent concert in Japan.


On May 30, Shinhwa Company‘s Twitter account posted, “After ending our concert in Tokyo! We dreamed of having this samgyupsal party.”


In the photo, the Shinhwa members sit around a table with the samgyupsal they dreamed of in the center. Leader Eric is smiling as he holds a spoon up, while Minwoo pinches Junjin‘s cheek.


Followers commented, “Thank you for the amazing concert. I hope that you can perform all over the world next year,” “Thank you for your hard work. I will be waiting for you,” and “Andy oppa is too cute. Oppa, you’re the best!”

Shinhwa completes their first concert in Japan for ‘The Return’ tour















The legendary idol group, Shinhwa, completed their ‘2012 Shinhwa Grand Tour: The Return‘ concert in Japan to much success. The concert marked the group’s first return to Japan in four years, and they made up for their long absence by giving their Japanese fans a sensational performance.


On May 29 and 30, Shinhwa held their concert at the Yokohama Arena, where they performed their hit tracks ‘T.O.P“, “Wild Eyes“, “Perfect Man“, “Eusha Eusha“, “Wedding“, and “Brand New“.


Shinhwa, who made a comeback with their tenth album ‘The Return‘ this past March, performed their new songs “Venus” and “Hurts“, while Japanese fans sang along with them, savoring every moment of their reunion.


On stage, Minwoo stated, “In Korea, we are shooting for ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ every week. We have a great time recording with a variety of concepts. I think it’s great that you are not limited to just meeting us at concerts but can watch us once a week on TV. We will come back again next year with a great album and performances.” Andy added, “We will continue to show everybody a great performance. We’ll work even harder so please have high hopes for us.”


Shinhwa then heated up the stage with their energetic encore performances of “Yo” and “Oh“.


After the concert, Dongwan shared, “We will adopt a beginner’s attitude, and continue to give our best efforts near all of you,” and Minwoo added, “To everyone who has touched us emotionally and loved Shinhwa, your presence is a significant gift to us. You are the world’s best fans.” Lastly, Eric commented, “Like the friendship between the Shinhwa members, I hope everyone’s friendship with Shinhwa never changes.”


In related news, Shinhwa will have one more performance in Kobe, Japan on June 2, and viewers will be able to catch the recap of Shinhwa’s Tokyo and Kobe concerts on Mnet Japan on August 18.

Shinhwa’s Andy wants to release a nude photo album by himself?





On the most recent episode of jTBC‘s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast‘ Shinhwa‘s Andy declared that he would release a nude album without the Shinhwa members.


The May 26th broadcast of ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ featured debates in which the members competed against each other to win the title as the “God of Speech”. As mentioned previously, the Shinhwa members held a debate discussing whether they should release another nude photo album. (Shinhwa, who shot a nude photo album 11 years ago, remains the first and only idol group to have ever done so)


Kim Dongwan who was on the team that had to argue for the idea said, “We shot the nude photos during our 4th album when Andy was absent. Andy was left alone in Seoul. Therefore, we need to take Andy and shoot a nude photo album one more time“, to which teammate Junjin added, “I agree. Andy is Shinhwa’s cute guy. Many fans want to see Andy’s muscles. I think fans will like it more if we take a nude photo album with Andy“.


Subsequently Andy hilariously stated, “Objection. You guys took a nude photo album without me. Hence, the five of you can release a nude album. I will release one by myself,” causing the members to laugh at his explosive declaration.


Dongwan, who was momentarily shocked by Andy’s statement, said, “Then your personal nude photos can be the on the appendix pages following after our member’s nude photo album“, generating laughter from the members.

Shinhwa members gang up on Andy on ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’





Shinhwa‘s maknae, Andy, hilariously shed a few tears during a game on ‘Shinhwa Broadcast‘ due to his fellow members playing a joke on him.


The May 12th broadcast of jTBC‘s Shinhwa Broadcast‘ will feature the episode ‘Shin Family Game Center’, a remake of  KBS‘s former variety show ‘Family Game Center‘, and feature guest MCs Park Ji Yoon and Huh Cham.


In ‘Shin Family Game Center’, the Shinhwa members will be participating in the four games, “Between Cheek and Cheek”, “60 Seconds to Answer”, “Between Room and Room”, and “Four People, One Heart”.


Specifically, in “Between Cheek and Cheek”, the participant is blindfolded and must guess the identity of an item just by having it rubbed on his cheek. At first, member Andy expressed his confidence as he stepped up for his turn. However, he immediately became hesitant when the blindfolds were placed on his eyes and became frantic even before anything touched his cheek.


Huh Cham, who was the former MC for ‘Family Game Center’, teased, “I have never met anybody this fearful my entire time on Family Game Center“, causing the audience to laugh.


Andy’s tragedy did not just end there, as Andy was helplessly shaking in fear, his members jokingly ambushed him with different items, leaving Andy on the ground with tears in his eyes.

Shinhwa transforms into beloved cartoon characters for Children’s Day





The members of Shinhwa dressed up as beloved cartoon characters for Children’s Day.


This picture above was uploaded onto Shinhwa Company’s official Twitter on May 5th along with the tweet, “The time slot for JTBC’s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ has been changed to 23:00 starting from today. Don’t miss ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’.”


For ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’, the members had to do their best to win the love of children so the members dressed up as cartoon characters to entertain them. All six members looked adorable with Eric dressed as Tigger, Andy as Pororo, Hyesung as a clown, Jun Jin as Dooly, Dongwan as Super Man, and Minwoo as Ppungppungyi.


Fans left comments on the picture saying, “All of you are all really cute. I bet the number of children fans will increase now“, “The best!“, and “You can’t go wrong with children when you’re dressed as Pororo.”


The 8th episode of ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ will be the continuation of episode 7 where the members try to win the love of children who do not know of Shinhwa. These episodes guest starred twelve adorable children and among those twelve are the famous Moon brothers Mason Moon, Mavin Moon, and Maden Moon.

The members of Shinhwa reveal their dating personalities





The Shinhwa members revealed their dating personalities.


The six members of Shinhwa, who recently released an album for the first time in 4 years, guest-featured on the May 3rd episode of Mnet‘s ‘Beatles Code 2‘.


When asked about their dating personalities, member Dongwan remarked, “I maintain a friendship with them, and I date them after I get to know them a little better.” Fellow member Hyesung seemed to have a similar dating style, as he revealed, “I get to know them for a long while before dating. It takes me about six months to a year to ask them to be in a relationship with me.”


On the flipside, leader Eric said, “I don’t really get to know them first. If I like them, I start dating them immediately and we accommodate one another as we go.” Junjin also agreed with Eric’s dating style.


When Andy was asked how he would react to his girlfriend going to a nightclub, he answered, “I think it would be okay as long as she lets me know first.”


The members were also asked what kind of girl they felt would be a good fit for Minwoo, and they answered, “Minwoo’s the kind of guy that doesn’t reveal his true emotions. He needs a really wise girl who will take good care of him.”

Shinhwa’s Andy and TEEN TOP to take child patients on a baseball outing





Shinhwa‘s Andy and TEEN TOP, who Andy founded under T.O.P. Media, will be visiting the professional baseball game between LG and Nexen with child patients from the Seoul University Hospital.


Andy and TEEN TOP will be walking the kids to the game on the afternoon of April 26th to create special memories that they’ll be able to cherish forever. Together, they’ll learn how to play baseball with the LG players before the official game begins.


Fans were warmed by the news, as Andy is busy with Shinhwa’s comeback, but still made time to participate in an outing like this.


Their day out together will be broadcast on MBC‘s ‘A New Life for Children‘ on May 5th.

Shinhwa’s Andy tells Eric to work hard





On the April 21st broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Entertainment Weekly‘, the show featured a guerrilla date with Shinhwa, which recently made a comeback after 4 years, and marked history as one of the oldest, first generation idols who are still active.


During the guerrilla date, interviewer, Kim Saeng Min asked Andy to give some advice to his fellow member, Eric who is currently managing girl group, Stellar.  Andy, the maknae of the group, then made a daring move as he rested his hands on Eric’s shoulder and said, “Work hard.”  Andy’s confident and brave gesture had the entire staff cracking up as the he boldly showed his hyung who’s the better man.



Andy is probably feeling like he’s the boss in Shinhwa, mainly due to his success in developing his boy group, Teen Top into popular idols in the industry.  It looks like Eric could learn a thing or two from his hoobae as he is still working hard to develop his own popular girl group with Stellar.


In related news, Shinhwa’s unexpected appearance on the streets during the guerrilla date drew in massive numbers, which caused filming to stop temporarily; a proof of the group’s strong and lasting popularity even after 14 years since their debut.

Shinhwa’s Andy hides his pain to prevent the other members from worrying





Recently, it was revealed that Shinhwa‘s Andy would be wearing a belt strap due to a herniated disc at Shinhwa’s 14th anniversary concert. With his energetic performance on the group’s comeback stage performances, fans had wondered if his back had gotten better. However, a recent interview with Andy and his group members revealed that Andy has been hiding his pain to prevent the other members from worrying.


On March 30th, Andy and Hyesung were interviewed backstage of KBS‘s ‘Music Bank‘.  Regarding his injured back, he revealed, “I’m still wearing my belt strap on concert stages.”


Groupmate, Hyesung chipped in to talk about Andy’s considerate personality.  ”With me also having injured my knee, Andy doesn’t show any signs of pain even though he is hurt.  I think he is hiding it because he doesn’t want to bother the members.”


In related news, Shinhwa is busy promoting their 10th album, “The Return“,  which was recently released on the 23rd.

Eric and Andy’s part in possible debut song was just 2 seconds?





Eric and Andy revealed that their part in a Shinhwa song originally planned as the debut title track for their first album was just 2 seconds long.


The March 28th broadcast of MBC’s ‘Radio Star,’ continued with the second part of their interview with Shinhwa. The hosts asked, “Is it true that the song that was supposed to be the title track of your first album featured a rap from Andy and Eric that lasted only two seconds?”


Andy responded, “Before we had the song ‘Problem Solver‘ we received a song entitled, ‘Oh, I Love You.’  All the members sang their parts, but there was no room for the rap portion. Our company added time for the rap, but it was just ‘I (I) love you (you) very much (very much).’  And [Eric and I] had to split that [line] between the two of us.”


Hearing how short their part was host Kim Gu Ra quipped, “It’s like sharing one bean.”

Andy’s sister had a crush on Eric?





Shinhwa member Andy spoke about Eric’s unparalleled popularity during their pre-debut years in Los Angeles, California.


On the March 28th broadcast of MBC’s ‘Radio Star‘, the second part of the special for the longest lasting male group was aired.


Andy shared how he knew Eric revealing, “Eric’s popularity was amazing.  All the girls at the school liked Eric.  Even my very own older sister had a crush on him.”


Min Woo continued, “When I first met Eric, he was wearing a cap, but I still thought that we was very good looking.”

Andy regrets giving TEEN TOP permission to date publicly





Shinhwa‘s Andy confessed that he truly regrets giving TEEN TOP members permission to date publicly if they wish to.


On the most recent episode of MBC “Golden Fishery – Radio Star,” the members of Shinhwa guested and shared all kinds of funny and touching stories.


Andy helped produce the idol group TEEN TOP; Eric did the same for girl group Stellar. With the members having experienced first hand the life of an idol, the MCs asked whether or not they are allowing their idols to date publicly. Andy said, “I told them to they can do whatever they’d like after winning #1. Because I said that, I feel like my head is going to explode,” causing laughter on the set.


Eric said, “I don’t oppose them dating publicly, but since they are all still very young, I want to do as their parents say.”

Lady Jane awaits to receive White Day candy from Simon D





Singer Lady Jane has once again aroused envy among female netizens after a comment she made on the latest episode of SBS‘s ‘One Night of TV Entertainment‘.


On the March 14th broadcast, MC Seo Kyung Suk, MC Yoo In Na, and the panel guest members briefly conversed about White Day.


In hope to receive candy, Yoo In Na questioned the studio, “It’s White Day but males, don’t you guys have any candy to give?” to which fellow MC Seo Kyung Suk replied, “I read on a survey that women hate receiving candies the most on White Day.”


On the otherhand, Lady Jane, who’s currently in a relationship with rapper Simon D, caused female viewers to become jealous by saying, “After I finish this recording, I’ll be on my way to receive candy.”

H.O.T’s Tony An sent Shinhwa’s Andy a thank-you text?





Shinhwa member Andy revealed at the Shinhwa comeback press conference held on March 5th at Mcuve Cheongdam CineCity, that H.O.T‘s Tony An had sent him a text message regarding the group’s comeback.


When asked if fellow singers had sent any congratulatory messages for the group’s comeback, Andy answered, “When we announced we would be coming back after 4 years, Tony An sent a text message thanking us for doing it. When I saw that message, I talked to the other members about trying our best to put on a good show.”


Lee Minwoo added, “When articles about our comeback were published, there were also articles about a possibility of H.O.T.‘s comeback, and I thought about how it would be nice if we could all promote at the same time. When I called Jang Woo Hyuk and Moon Hee Jun, they said it was a false report, and I was momentarily disappointed. I think it would be nice if they would comeback and the 1st generation of idols could promote with the current 3rd generation of idols.”


Shinhwa will release their 10th album in mid-March, and will hold a comeback concert on the 24th and 25th for their 14th anniversary since their debut.

Lee Hyun Jae shares selcas with Eye Candy bandmates







‘Flower Drummer’ Lee Hyun Jaerefreshed the eyes of fans with a few pictures on the set fof his drama.


Lee Hyun Jae plays Jung Do Il, a powerful drummer with a beautiful smile, in tvN drama ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band‘ and he took pictures with his ‘band mates’ on set.


Lee Hyun Jae wrote, “I miss Byung Hee” along with a selca he took with Lee Min Ki who plays Byung Hee in the drama. He also uploaded a picture he took with Sung Jun and Kim Min Suk displaying their close relationship.



Unlike his chacter Jung Do Il, who is a man of few words and has a mysterious aura to him, Lee Hyun Jae displayed his true nature in these pictures as being a friendly and comfortable guy. 


Netizens responded to these pictures saying, “His skin seems flawless! Lee Hyun Jae you’re so handsome!“, “His selca is like a picture from a photo shoot“, and “He really is a flower boy! He’s so perfect!”

Idol group TEEN TOP makes Shinhwa’s Andy cry





The boys of TEEN TOP caused Shinhwa‘s Andy to shed some emotional tears.


Andy who produced TEEN TOP apparently showed some tears after the boys won their first #1 K-Chart win on SBS ‘Inkigayo‘ back on February 5th. This was shortly after their previous #1 on KBS ‘Music Bank‘ on the 3rd.


With a recent interview with OSEN, TEEN TOP remarked, “It was our first #1 win since we debuted a year and a half ago. At our company dinner, Andy hyung told us that ‘this is just the beginning.’ We didn’t hear this until later, but he apparently shed tears while watching the broadcast.”


Neil added, “We were really excited as well, as we worked hard to achieve this win. It didn’t really sink in when we actually won, but to be honest, we knew that we may win a K-Chart win because “Going Crazy” was such a good song.”


“Going Crazy” is an energetic club song with an addictive melody written by hitmaker Brave Brothers, and has stirred interest from the public as TEEN TOP made a fierce transformation for the track.


Congratulations once again to TEEN TOP!
