Actress Shin Ae discusses Son Dam Bi’s single life + reveals her daughter on ‘Star Life Theater’





On the August 28th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘, Son Dam Bi invited her best friend, actress Shin Ae, and her stylist over to her lavish bachelorette pad.


Shin Ae discussed her friend’s single life on the show, saying, “Son Dam Bi is not the type to take care of her meals. That is why she doesn’t gain weight. But seeing her not eating properly, I feel [worried] for her. I’m not sure if [it's better that] she get married or what.”


When asked what would happen if Son Dam Bi gets married, Shin Ae carefully responded, “[Son Dam Bi] can’t do two things at once so if she gets married now, she might lose her career and love altogether. I think that she should think about getting married a little later.”

Son Dam Bi opens up about the difficulties she faced while acting





Singer Son Dam Bi revealed that veteran actor Ahn Jae Wook helped her overcome the controversy surround her acting skills.


The August 28th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘ highlighted Son Dam Bi’s everyday life. It was here that Son Dam Bi along with Kahi had stopped by a florist to pick up some flowers. The two evoked curiosity as to who they were for, and the lucky man was none other than Ahn Jae Wook. Son Dam Bi had selected him as her acting mentor, as he had helped her get comfortable and adjusted on the set of ‘Light and Shadow‘.


This was my second attempt at acting, but the way people viewed me from the beginning was not all that great,” she said. “To be honest, it was only a small minority of people, so I wondered if this was something worth being bothered by. I thought that eventually viewers would like the character of Chae Young… honestly, I always asked a lot of questions about the things I didn’t know or was unsure about. My seniors helped me out a lot, and it’s sort of a relief that people said Son Dam Bi the singer was nowhere to be seen in this drama. It felt good to hear that.”

Son Dam Bi comments on her hit song “Crazy”





Singer Son Dam Bi commented on her feelings behind her biggest hit song, “Crazy“.


On the August 27th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Start Life Theater‘, Son Dam Bi shared, “It’s the song that revealed me to the world, and it’s also the song that gave birth to me. After the first performance, my name was one of the top most searched. It read ‘Son Dam Bi crazy’.


Son Dam Bi’s “Crazy” was released in 2008. It quickly garnered interest from the public, and became the most-covered song on variety shows by other celebrities. Because of the amount of time it was played on variety shows, it was also designated as the “song banned from variety shows”.


Son Dam Bi commented, “I was so happy. It was the song that made my name known. Because of “Crazy”, the age of my fans broadened.

Son Dam Bi opens up about past controversy over her singing ability





Solo artist Son Dam Bi confessed to have gone through a difficult time when she was caught up in a controversy over her singing ability.


On the latest recording of KBS‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘, Son Dam Bi expressed her feelings regarding the bitter backlash she received due to an MR-removed video.


Instead of doing the same thing over and over again, I wanted to try something new, so I experimented a new genre for the transformation,” she said. “However, I ended up being shaky [throughout the performance] and due to the controversy, I had a difficult time, as well.”


In addition, she revealed, “In order to assimilate powerful dance performances and sing live at the same time, I even practiced by running at the park nearby Han River.”


The episodes featuring Son Dam Bi will be airing on August 27th-31st.

Veteran singer Kim Gun Mo reveals why he shut down his own fan club





Veteran singer Kim Gun Mo revealed why he shut down his official fan club.


On the August 22nd episode of KBS 2TV‘s ’Star Life Theater‘, Kim Gun Mo discussed the time when he had shut down his own official fan club.


The legendary vocalist stated, “I got rid of my fan club on purpose. I didn’t want fans who should be married and taking care of kids coming so I shut it down,” showing his concern for his older fans.


He then jokingly added, “And when pretty fans like me, my other fans get jealous. So I don’t let them come. All my fans look round. They eat a lot,” causing the staff to roar with laughter.

Netizens share more incidents of T-ara’s Hwayoung supposedly being bullied





With the controversy surrounding the bullying scandal of T-ara and Hwayoung heating up, netizens have been claiming to discover more and more proof shots that supposedly prove the bullying rumors to be true.


Recently, online community boards have been posting such screencaps of various moments throughout the girls’ careers back to back, shocking netizens with the content.


On one Japanese broadcast, videos showed Eunjung forcefully feeding Hwayoung a rice cake into her mouth, while on one episode of KBS‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘, Hyomin was caught poking Hwayoung in the eye while lifting her arm.


In another scene, netizens noticed Jiyeon making fun of Hwayoung for reading in the car, stating, “She’s only acting like that because she’s in front of the camera. As someone who’s in the same team as her, this is my first time seeing her reading.”


Soyeon was also caught approaching Hwayoung (who was sitting in a corner) and giving her candy, stating, “This was the candy I dropped on the floor before.”


Netizens commented, “The rumors with Hwayoung must be true”, “Isn’t this too much against one person?”, “How can they act like this as adults?”, and “Hwayoung must be going through such a hard time.”

Super Junior‘s Ryeowook tweeted on the 25th: “Unreleased photo from ‘Star Life Theater‘ with Super Junior’s Shindong, Ryeowook, Eunhyuk, and Kangin ^^,” along with the sparkling photo of the members above.


The members’ cute expressions as they huddled around cakes were captured during the KBS2 documentary program’s filming.

T-ara’s Eunjung sheds tears as she discusses the bond between the members





T-ara’s Eunjung recently confessed her heartfelt affections for her fellow T-ara members. The idol’s interview segment was featured on the T-ara special of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Star Life Theater.’


Eunjung was asked the question “Where do you see T-ara in 10 years,” to which the idol answered, “I think we will still remain the best of friends, even if we aren’t T-ara anymore.” The idol then stopped mid interview, and started to tear up.


All of us have been through so much. That’s why I want to be with them for as long as possible,” says Eunjung, “Most of us get very lonely as we don’t get to see our family all that often, so we depend on each other to cheer each other up.


We’re more like family now,” continues Eunjung, “We’re sisters. If a member were to come up to me and say ‘Someone said something bad about me’ or ‘This person hurt me,’ I wouldn’t think twice about getting up and doing something about it.”


Meanwhile, T-ara is busy promoting their latest single “Day by Day.”

Jiyeon’s childhood dream was to become a Tae Kwon Do professional





Member Jiyeon of girl group T-ara shared a dream she had when she was young.


On the July 13th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘, Jiyeon reminisced of her younger years as she said, “I liked Tae Kwon Do so much; my dream was to become a Tae Kwon Do professional.


When asked how she became an artist, Jiyeon answered, “When I was young and I didn’t know any better, I was watching a drama on TV and thought I wanted to do that too. I started going to acting classes and started auditioning by myself, and I ended up meeting the company I’m with now. I debuted as an artist, and I got my opportunity to act as well. I think I was extremely lucky.”


The episode also revealed footage of the girls’ first Japanese concert. Remarking that studying Japanese was a difficult task, Jiyeon evoked laughter as she said, “My Japanese level is that of a 4 year old child.”

T-ara’s Eunjung reveals her obsession with organization





On the June 12th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘, T-ara‘s Eunjung showed fans her sparkling clean room.


While giving a tour of her room, Eunjung admitted to her obsession with organization and even showed viewers how she has neatly organized her makeup and accessories by order of height.


The idol shared, “I think to myself about where I should place my items for 20 minutes at a time. I don’t know why I do this. I will try re-arranging multiple times by ordering them by color or by putting them in different positions.”


Viewers commented, “It takes twenty minutes to arrange your stuff?”, “I don’t organize my stuff at all”, and “It’s so clean.”

T-ara’s Soyeon is envious of fellow member Hyomin





T-ara member Soyeon expressed her envy of fellow member Hyomin.


On the July 11th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘, T-ara was busy rehearsing the dance to their new song.


Making time out of their busy schedule, the girls were sweating bullets trying to perfect their routine.


Taking a break from their difficult rehearsal, the girls were then given some food to re-energize. Excitedly, the girls began their feast, but there was one member that simply watched them from afar. It was none other than Soyeon.


This is the time for me to refrain from eating,” she said. “Our comeback is only a few days away. I have to properly manage myself [to maintain my figure].”


When asked if there was a member who eats without gaining any weight, Soyeon gestured towards Hyomin. “I’m so jealous that she doesn’t gain weight, without even being disciplined,” Soyeon said.

T-ara’s Jiyeon reveals the promise she was able to fulfill for her dad on ‘Star Life Theater’





A while back, Jiyeon of girl group T-ara was seen shedding a few emotional tears after receiving a surprise visit from her father at a fan signing event.


The July 9th episode of KBS2‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘ revealed behind-the-scenes footage of girl group T-ara and the story behind the heartfelt day was revealed.


As mentioned previously, during a fan meet and greet, Jiyeon’s father made a surprise visit, causing Jiyeon to become overcome with emotion seeing him there.


I came because I missed you,” he told her, pulling his daughter in for a warm embrace. Jiyeon was unable to hold back her tears, and her father who said “I came to see my baby because it’s been so long since I’ve seen her,” left quickly afterward, afraid he would only get in her way.


Through the interview on ‘Star Life Theater’, she revealed, “I really didn’t know [he would be there],” Jiyeon said. “There’s a promise I made with my dad after I made my debut. My dad has bad teeth. I promised him I would get him some new teeth, and I’m happy I was able to fulfill that promise,” she shared with a content smile on her face.

T-ara’s Boram compliments f(x) on ‘Star Life Theater’





T-ara member Boram has given a brief, yet kind compliment to f(x).


On the July 9th episode of KBS‘s ‘Star Life Theater’, the hard work, effort, sweat, and the honest concerns of the T-ara members, normally hidden backstage during broadcasts, were revealed.


During this episode, while T-ara waited for their turn to perform for ‘Music Bank’s half year wrap-up special, member Boram watched fellow idol group f(x)’s performance.


When asked how it felt to watch other singers perform, Boram answered simply, “It feels like I’m watching celebrities,” and then added with a smile, “[They look] really cool.


Boram continued to talk about f(x) in particular, stating “Seeing them in person now, they look even cooler and prettier. They all look really pretty.

T-ara’s Eunjung discusses her initial embarrassment about “Bo Beep Bo Beep”





T-ara‘s Eunjung explained how their hit song earned the title, “Bo Beep Bo Beep“.


The July 9th broadcast of KBS‘ ‘Star Life Theater‘ revealed behind-the-scenes footage of T-ara and how hard they worked to rise to the top of the industry.


Member Eunjung shared, “The original title [for "Bo Beep Bo Beep"] was actually ‘Bbee Bbo Bbee Bbo’.”


But the more we listened to the song, the lyrics ‘BbeeBboBbeeBboBbee’, sounded like ‘Bo Beep Bo Beep’, and thus the extremely cute song was created,” she explained.


Eunjung then shared her thoughts on the choreography and stage outfits for the song. “It was so embarrassing in the beginning,” she said with a laugh. “We had stuff hanging from our ears, we had tails, we shook our butts- we were really embarrassed.”


But the song became daebak,” she said. “It even seized #1 on the Oricon in Japan and we heard that it’s still very popular in Thailand. Thinking back now, I’m extremely grateful for this song.”

T-ara’s Hyomin cooks for her fellow members





T-ara‘s Hyomin showcased her culinary skills, preparing a meal for her fellow members.


On the July 9th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘, Hyomin remarked, “For the past three years, we all lived together in a dorm but started living apart for the first time. We are now going around holding house warmings.”


It was her turn to hold her house warming, and Hyomin worked to prepare goongjoong tteokbokki, which was thoroughly enjoyed by her fellow members Jiyeon and Eunjung. As they ate, the girls reminisced of the past few years they spent together.


It hasn’t been that long since we all began living separately,” Eunjung said. “We lived together for nearly three years. It was a little hard because it was a bit disorganized, but it was nice because we were able to get through difficult times together.”

T-ara members’ everyday lives to be shown through ‘Star Life Theater’







The everyday lives of idol group T-ara will be revealed.


From July 9th-13th, KBS2′sStar Life Theater‘ will air episodes about T-ara.  During the show, each member of T-ara will reveal their homes and show how they live their everyday lives off stage.



According to a staff member on July 8th, a story regarding Boram losing 20 pounds before her debut thanks to the help of her actress mother Lee Mi Young will be told.  Lee Mi Young had her daughter on a strict diet and said, “I was really sad before Boram’s debut because I helped her with her diet and did not let her eat much,” and spoke about the hardships that she went through, along with her daughter during that time.


It will also air an episode of Jiyeon inviting her close friend IU to her home and enjoying a great time together.


Another thing we will see a lot of through the show are the T-ara members deciding most things using rock, paper, scissors. Where they sit in the van, the order they use the water fountain in their practice facility, the order they get their make up done is all decided through rock, paper, scissors.


The members said, “The rock, paper, scissor rule that we established since we were trainees is still in effect.  But because of that we do not fight with each other.

IU admits she found it hard to get close to T-ara’s Jiyeon at first





IU revealed her honest opinion on her first impression of T-ara‘s Jiyeon on the recent filming of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Star Life Theater‘ featuring T-ara.


The two were both born in 1993, but they only greeted each other briefly backstage at music programs until they met in 2010 on the SBS program ‘Heroes‘ and got to know one another. The T-ara members returned to their homes this past June for individual promotions, and IU was invited to Jiyeon’s place.


IU commented, “I thought [Jiyeon's] room would be filled with pink princess clothes and accessories, but it’s actually pretty plain. It was hard to be friendly with Jiyeon at first because she has the impression of a cold, city woman.”


When IU saw Jiyeon preparing a snack, she remarked, “Please don’t cook. Jiyeon is good at dancing, acting, and a lot of other things, but she’s not a very good cook. I think she’s worse than I am.”


She then added, “When I was first invited to her house, she said she would make me samgyetang, but I talked her out of it.”


‘Star Life Theater’ will air their special T-ara feature from July 9th to the 13th at 8:20PM KST.

Hyomin self-promotes T-ara’s upcoming activities







With T-ara‘s comeback in full swing, Hyomin has set out to promote the group’s activities in her latest Twitter update.


On the afternoon of July 4th, she tweeted, “It’s not an exciting or bright song fit for the summer, but we’ll be making our comeback this week with ‘Day by Day‘, a song perfect for the monsoon season coming up. Our stage won’t go overboard this time so please don’t worry. On Friday, we have an appearance on ‘Star Life Theater‘ lined up followed by ‘Music Core‘ on Saturday! Done with our self-promotion.”


Attached to the tweet was a sel-ca of Hyomin holding up a movie slate with ‘Star Life Theater’ and the broadcast duration written on it. Considering T-ara’s busy schedule, the tweet must serve as a nice reminder for fans looking to keep up with the girls through it all.

Byun Jung Soo’s mother reveals why she let her daughter marry early





Byun Jung Soo and her mother appeared on May 18th’s airing of ‘Star Life Theater‘, where the former supermodel’s mother revealed why she let her daughter marry at the young age of 21.


Her mother was asked, “Isn’t that too young of an age to get her married?” She answered, “I got married early too,” and continued, “Most parents don’t want their daughters to get married early, but I liked her fiancé. There was a kind of elegance to him, and he seemed innocent.


Byun Jung Soo then asked her mother, “There must be a reason. I didn’t have any thoughts of marriage.” Her mother then came clean and said, “I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say this. I had to send three children to college, and I wanted to send you all, but I thought if you got married then your in-laws would send you to college.


Byun Jung Soo shed tears at her mother’s confession, and when asked if she knew about her mother’s reasoning, she replied, “I didn’t know at all. I was young at the time.


The celebrity continued, “I think I was too immature. I feel sorry [to my mother].
