Rookie girl group GLAM open up about their debut and future goals as artists

Rookie girl group GLAM remarked that they are satisfied with their debut results.

Big Hit Entertainment‘s GLAM released their first track “Party XXO” this past July, and wrapped up their month-long debut promotions with a final music program performance this week.

During an interview with JoyNews24, the girls said, “We really promoted happily. Standing on stage is so exciting, it’s unfortunate that our promotions have already come to an end.”

“We think it was successful, and we feel pretty satisfied,” the girls added. “There are people who recognize us on the streets, and we have fans now. We are glad we have made our name known.”

The members also shared what their producer ‘Hitman’ Bang thought of their debut. “Producer Bang Shi Hyuk saw our first stage performance, and he told us that we did really well.”

GLAM drew interest from the get-go, as they were known as Bang Shi Hyuk’s new girl group. Though they were just rookies, GLAM immediately proved themselves with stable vocal talent, along with powerful dances moves and their easygoing, carefree attitudes on stage. Even with the high number of girl groups making their debuts, GLAM managed to stand out with their various talents and their fans are now curious and excited to see what they’ll do next.

The girls added, “Though there are a lot of girl groups, we will be victorious with our own unique colors. If we compared our style to an actual color, it would be something neon. Colors that stand out from among the rest. Even in reality, we don’t get stuck in molds and are rather free spirited.”

In regards to being compared to 2NE1, GLAM remarked, “It’s an honor that so many people are comparing us to 2NE1. We couldn’t show you everything with our debut song, but slowly but surely we will display our own colors.”

“We are already looking forward to our comeback promotions,” they added. “We are curious to know what kind of stage we will put on together, and what kind of song we will be given.”

Also displaying their determination, GLAM continued, “Our next goal is winning a #1 win on a music program. We think it’s good to aim high.”

Meanwhile, an insider from GLAM’s agency reported, “We are planning a new album release for October. The songs to be released this time around should be a lot more mainstream than their debut track.”

GLAM members enjoy their freedom on the streets with couple of beers

Upcoming girl group GLAM has been receiving attention for their latest episode of their reality show.

The broadcast of SBS-MTV‘s ‘Real Music Drama GLAM‘ on the 13th showed GLAM’s freedom from dorm rules unlike other girl groups.

The GLAM members were seeing enjoying their freedom out in the streets with couple of beers, which is an act that is normally unseen on screen for girl group members.

GLAM is an upcoming girl group that includes Lee Miso, who auditioned for KBS ‘Birth of a Great Star‘. The group is produced by Bang Shi Hyuk, who has gone against expectations by not enforcing strict dorm rules nor setting curfews for the members.

He shared, “When they themselves are being regulated, it contradicts their message to the public to listen to their music and be happy,” and asserted that girl groups need freedom too.

Big Hit Entertainment & Source Music’s new girl group GLAM to debut in July

Hit producer Bang Shi Hyuk will be producing his very own girl group for the first time in his 14 year career.

On May 25th, Big Hit Entertainment announced that ‘GLAM‘ will be making their debut on July 16th in collaboration with Source Music. 8Eight and Kan Mi Yeon are housed under Source Music, while 2AM is under Big Hit Entertainment. For the past three years, the two companies have been working together to produce GLAM.

A representative revealed, “GLAM is comprisd of five members talented in singing, dancing, and playing instruments. The name means ‘Girls Be Ambitious’, and we hope that they’ll follow their name to produce ambitious, bright music.”

Bang Shi Hyuk added, “I actually feel sorry calling GLAM a girl group because they have genuine musical talent and passion. As opposed to producing them, it’s more accurate to say that I helped them realize their hidden musical potential and helped them foster that as a partner by their side.”

GLAM will be making their debut through an SBS-MTV reality music drama titled ‘GLAM’ in early June before the release of their debut album the following month.

David Oh gets excited about Lady Gaga’s concert

MBC‘s ‘Star Audition: Birth of a Great Star Season 1′ finalist David Oh recently updated fans with the whereabouts his ‘Birth of a Great Star’ mentor Bang Shi Hyuk and himself.

The singer recently shared on his me2day, “Shi Hyuk Hyung and I are on our way to the Lady Gaga concert. Yaho Omg im going to lady gaga concert!! Time to marry the night”, along with a selca. The photo shows David Oh in a car with a sweet smile on his trip to the concert venue.

Fans responded, “Lady Gaga concert.. I’m so jealous”, “With Shi Hyuk Hyung? Wow you guys seem close”, and “I guess David Oh also went to the Lady Gaga concert.”

David Oh previously starred in MBC’s ‘We Got Married’ along with fellow ‘Birth of a Great Star Season 1′ finalist Kwon Ri Sae.

Lady Gaga started her world tour on the 27th in Seoul’s Jamsil Olympic Stadium and plans to perform in 11 countries.
