10,000 Brochures ft. SNSD Sent to London in Time For Olympics

Those in London who don′t know much about Korea, or K-Pop, will soon have the opportunity to learn a little more.

After becoming Korea’s culture representatives through a new series of informative pamphlets, 10,000 copies of the SNSD-featuring English language Korean culture brochures were sent to London in time for the Olympics.

The informative pamphlets were passed around on August 7 and 8 in popular areas of London including Piccadilly Circus, Hyde Park, Trafalgar Square and the British Museum.

Professor Seo Kyung Duk, who was behind the creation of the pamphlets, share, “With so many people from all over the world in London for the Olympics, we believed this was an opportune time.”

He added, "Among Europe, London in particular has a lot of youths who are K-Pop fans so we put thought into the design of the ‘SNSD’ pamphlets so they wouldn’t be something people looked at once and threw away but would hold on to them.”

Professor Seo also added that additional copies of the brochures in diverse languages from Spanish to Mandarin were also planned to be distributed at global events such as the London Olympics and Yeosu Expo.

The SNSD informative pamphlets introduces, in English, five of Korea’s most representative cultural contents, including Hangeul (the Korean language), hanshik (Korean food), hanbok (Korean traditional clothing), hanji (traditional Korean handmade paper) and hanok (traditional Korean-style houses).
