VIXX’s Ravi receives praise from Park Hyo Shin

VIXX‘s Ravi showed his admiration for Big Bang‘s Taeyang after receiving praise from legendary singer Park Hyo Shin.

On the June 19th broadcast of MBC Music‘s ‘Show Champion‘, host Kim Shin Young introduced VIXX’s rapper Ravi saying, “He’s received high praise from Park Hyo Shin.”

She went on to explain, “After Park Hyo Shin saw Ravi’s performance, he said, ‘If he practices hard and trains well, he can be better than Big Bang’s Taeyang.’”

Shindong chimed in, “Why don’t you send a video message to Taeyang?” Ravi turned to the camera and said, “Sunbae, I love you.  I respect you,” which brought smiles to those gathered.

VIXX is the first idol group to come out of Jellyfish Entertainment, home to ballad singers like Sung Si Kyung and Park Hyo Shin. The group is currently receiving a lot of attention for their debut track “Super Hero“.

Military Music Festival to feature Girl’s Day, Rania, Rain & more

It’s been announced that the annual Military Music Festival has been scheduled to take place on June 23rd in Gongjoo City, featuring idol performances and a singer competition by soldiers and civilians alike. Sponsored by the 32nd Division of the army trading command (ROKA), the event celebrates the Fallen Patriots & Veterans’ Month.

The pre-event ceremony will feature a performance by the army band, the Honor Guard Drill Team, the special forces’ martial arts routine, and army music video. Concert performances include Jang Yung Jung, Girl’s Day, Rania, Ruby and more, as well as celebrity PR soldiers such as Rain and Park Hyo Shin.

The singing competition has been drawing team application and is expected to involve over 5,000 people. The first 30 teams (10 soldier teams, 20 civilian teams) will be accepted for preliminaries, and 10 teams will be selected to advance to the finals. Seven finalists will receive monetary prizes, and the competition winners will receive a trophy and 2 million won (~$1700 USD).

VIXX’s Ken and Leo receive praise from Sung Shi Kyung and Park Hyo Shin

Upcoming rookie group VIXX received praises from legendary singers Sung Shi Kyung and Park Hyo Shin.

It’s not often those two give praises to anyone, so netizens were surprised to hear that they were impressed with main vocalists, Leo and Ken, from a rookie boy group. Both members reportedly passed their auditions on the first try with their vocal talent alone.

Sung Shi Kyung commented, “Ken has a charming, uncommon tone to his voice.” After hearing Leo sing “Memories Resemble Love“, Park Hyo Shin expressed, “I think he sings better than me, actually.”
