MBLAQ’s Lee Joon spars with former national boxing athlete on ‘Idol Manager’

MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon held a sparring match with a former national Korean boxing athlete.

During the recent filming of MBC‘s ‘Idol Manager‘, the MBLAQ members each participated in sparring matches with a challenger of their choice.

MBLAQ discussed holding an event for their fans in celebration of the group’s 3-year anniversary on October 15, and MC Park Kyung Lim suggested revealing their abs. The MBLAQ members then went to do some circuit and sparring training to build their abs.

The sparring matches were held in a format where the members got to pick their opponents by saying, “You, come out.” Mir picked Seungho, while Thunder chose G.O. However, Lee Joon surprised everyone by fearlessly picking their boxing trainer, a former national boxing athlete, Kim Ji Hoon.

After hearing that his opponent is a former national athlete, Lee Joon replied, “I’m also the national representative of dance.”

The comical sparring match between the trainer and Lee Joon will be revealed on this week’s episode of ‘Idol Manager’, airing on September 7 at 6PM KST.

IU shares a photo sticker taken with her close friends Thunder & Haemi

Singer IU posted a photo sticker she took with her closest friends.

On August 10th, the singer shared the above photo on her personal Twitter page and wrote, “Releasing photos in celebration of Haemi unni’s birthday. Sunggoo, Haemi, hurry up and debut. It would be nice if we could all do a talk show together ♥”

In the photo with IU were MBLAQ‘s Thunder, and FIESTAR member Haemi who is under the same agency as IU. With her adorable poses, IU lived up to her nickname as the ‘nation’s little sister’, while Thunder who has known IU since her trainee days looked like a handsome animé character with his blonde hair. The four had also written, “Let’s make a lot of money and buy Lotte World!”, evoking laughs amongst IU’s Twitter followers.

Netizens responded by writing, “How does she manage to look so cute“, “So jealous. I want to be in there too,” and “I’ll buy you Lotte World!”

MBLAQ’s Thunder poses ‘L’Officiel Hommes Korea’

Thunder of idol group MBLAQ recently sported a new look as he participated in a photoshoot for the April publication ‘L’Officiel Hommes Korea’.

Wearing outfits of different colors and patterns, as well as going shirtless, Thunder revealed a new chic and masculine charisma, drawing attention for his muscular physique.

As soon as Thunder stepped on set, the photographer as well as the staff members were reportedly left in awe after seeing his small face and lanky height, raising their expectations for his pictorials.

From the get go, Thunder struck impressive poses and expertly gazed into the camera like an experienced model.

But once the shoot was over, Thunder once again returned to his usual bashful self, and the singer received praise for enduring the arduous shoot like a true professional.

Thunder thought about quitting MBLAQ because of Seungho

 

MBLAQ‘s Thunder revealed his fear of Seungho in a recent episode of jTBC‘s ‘Park Kyung Lim’s Oh Happy Day’, that focused on the boys’ trainee and debut days.

Thunder confessed he was afraid of Seungho to the extent that he wanted to give up being a MBLAQ member.

Thunder was the last member to join MBLAQ as he came to Korea from the Philippines where he was living with his family. He told of his hardships as he stated, “Korea and the Korean culture were still very unfamiliar when I joined MBLAQ.”

When asked which member bothered him the most, Thunder chose Seungho without hesitation. Thunder stated, “As I didn’t know of any older brother-younger brother differences in the Philippines, Seungho took the age difference strictly and used military discipline. Using the hyung position, he took my training uniform from the first practice day.”

Lee Joon further explained, “Thunder was really afraid of Seungho hyung. That’s why every dawn he called me into the convenience store and complained that he couldn’t take it anymore.”

To these complaints, Seungho gave an unexpected retaliation, making the studio laugh.

MBLAQ’s Thunder confesses his childhood secrets on ‘Hello Baby’

The next episode of KBS Joy‘s ‘MBLAQ’s Hello Baby‘ is one fans won’t want to miss, as the members are set to confess some of their childhood secrets, as well as answer to rumors regarding their past!

Thunder was asked about whether he really liked to dress up as a girl when he was little, to which he revealed that he used to wear his sisters’ hand-me-downs, and was often misunderstood as a little girl due to his pretty looks.

He also surprised his fellow members by revealing that he only used to shower once a week as a kid!

Lee Joon‘s mother will also make an appearance as a special guest to check up on her grandchildren as well as share a bit about Lee Joon’s childhood.

The episode will broadcast on the night of March 8th.

MBLAQ’s Thunder wants his sister, Dara, to marry late

MBLAQ‘s Thunder has revealed that he’s very protective of his older sister, 2NE1‘s Sandara Park.

On February 13th, Thunder guested on YTN‘s ‘News and Issue‘ alongside his fellow MBLAQ members. During the interview, Thunder was asked about Sandara’s plans for marriage.

Thunder replied, “I want my older sister to marry late.” He continued, “As a younger brother, I want to directly choose someone I approve of to be my sister’s spouse.”

Fans and viewers alike expressed that they were charmed by Thunder’s unique attachment to his older sister.

New Girl Group ‘C-REAL’ releases MV teaser featuring MBLAQ’s Thunder

Another girl group has emerged, N.A.P Entertainment is unleashing ’C-REAL‘ consisting of five girls Chemi (Kim Young Won, 18), Lady (Lee Da Hee, 17), Effy (Lee Ji Hoon,17 ), NJay(Jo Yeo Woon, 16), and Leni (Lee Yoo Jin, 15).

These girls have reportedly been in the making for two years and Representative Choi stated that he was looking for the next young IU, and have been labeling the girls the ’5 IU mini me’s’.

All the girls are in high school, except for the youngest member Leni who is in Middle School.

‘C-REAL’ released a video teaser for their title track “No No No No No” on October 5th, as well as information about their mini album, ‘Round 1‘ which features 5 songs.

The lyrics and composition for “No No No No No“ was done by hit making producer, Brave Brothers.

Star News was on set for their Music Video “No No No No No” and when the cameras weren’t rolling the ‘C-REAL’ members were quite shy in front of the staff. However, when asked about music they became passionate and determined.

Leader Chemi replied, “We’re going to become a team that will make our innate natural talents shine. When we dance we’re going to dance, when we sing we’re going to become a team that will really sing”.

Rapper Lady revealed, “In the last MBC’s ‘Birth of a Great Star’ I passed the first round of auditions, but of course I instead chose to join C-REAL. I’ve practiced in a lot of different areas and rap is so much fun. This Fall, let’s try to make good memories with C-REAL”.

Effy replied, “We want to quickly grow (and become better), and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. First we want many people to listen to our cheerful song ‘No No No No No’”.

From Daejeon, NJay shyly responded, “Since our debut is right around the corner, we wake up around 5-6am and practice till late at night. We hope that our efforts will produce great results”.

Youngest member Leni added, “Since we filmed our music video, I’ve now realize that our debut is actually happening. I want us to become a girl group that will be able to express ourselves well to our peers”.

Representative Choi lastly commented, “C-REAL will reveal a track that will have emotions and feel that fits best girls that age. Of course they will also be a girl group that will take on the challenge of change”.

We’ll just have to wait and keep an eye out for this new girl group ‘C-REAL’.

MBLAQ’s Thunder unveils his new hairstyle

MBLAQ‘s Thunder has once again melted the hearts of many by revealing a fierce and masculine selca shot, which also shows off his new hairstyle!

On September 29th, Thunder tweeted the above photo and added, “I changed my hairstyle~! keke“.

Many seem to be enjoying his newly dyed black hair, and resulted in netizens leaving nothing but positive comments, “Mysterious new hair but great!“, “You look extremely good with any type of hair,” and “Big image transformation for the best!”

Meanwhile, MBLAQ has been creating a stir in various European countries by grabbing first place on Germany and Bulgaria’s music charts.
