‘Voice Korea’ finalist Yoo Sung Eun signs with Baek Ji Young’s agency





Mnet‘s ‘Voice Korea‘ finalist Yoo Sung Eun will be singing with WS Entertainment, the agency home to her mentor and coach Baek Ji Young.


WS Entertainment remarked, “Yoo Sung Eun will be signing with WS Entertainment very soon. Baek Ji Young is very fond of Yoo Seung Eun, and the company decided to sign her after recognizing her potential.”


With her R&B style of singing, Yoo Sung Eun made it to the top 4 of ‘Voice Korea’, however the winning spot went to her competitor Son Seung Yeon.


Netizens who heard the news responded saying, “Baek Ji Young takes good care of her disciples“, “I hope she debuts soon!”, and “Fighting!”


In related news, ‘Voice Korea’ winner Son Seung Yeon is preparing her debut album with Universal Korea, and Ji Sae Hee along with Woo Hae Mi are still deciding between agencies.

After School, Verbal Jint, and Son Dambi added to the line up for ‘Green Groove’ music festival







After School, Verbal Jint, and Son Dambi have been added to the line up for the music festival ‘Green Groove.’


A representative for the ‘Green Groove Festival’ stated on July 10th, “Popular group After School, Verbal Jint as well as Son Dambi have agreed to join the festival.  World star Akon and the Wonder Girls will perform their collaboration song, ‘Like Money‘ and with the addition of the three artists, there will be a lot of variety in the performances.


After School recently came back with their new song ‘Flashback‘ which has been gaining popularity and shows off their power and sexiness on the stage.  Also, Son Dambi starred in the hit MBC drama ‘Light and Shadow‘ which just went off the air earlier this month and showed that she can be a successful actress as well.  She is preparing for her comeback to the music scene next month and will meet her fans first through her stage at ‘Green Groove.’


Hip Hop artist Verbal Jint has a hit song titled ‘Good Morning‘ featuring 10cm and the two teams will come together for a collaboration stage at the festival.


Also performing at the ‘Green Groove Festival’ will be electro live band Infected Mushroom and many foreign acts as well. Mighty Mouth, stars from Mnet’sVoice KoreaSong Seung Yeon, Woo Hae Mi, Yoo Sung Eun, Ji Sae Hee, indie band Delispice, and many more popular groups will all be performing.


The ‘Green Groove Festival’ will take place on July 21st and 22nd in Choong Nam.

‘Voice Korea’ contestant Yoo Sung Eun used to have a crush on Big Bang’s T.O.P





Contestant Yoo Sung Eun who displayed her explosive vocal talent on ‘Voice Korea‘ drew attention for revealing her connection to Big Bang‘s T.O.P.


On the May 24th episode of Mnet‘s ‘Beatles Code 2‘, MC Shindong asked Sung Eun, “Is it true that your brother is close to Big Bang’s T.O.P?”


Sung Eun answered, “He was a friend of my brother’s when we were younger. Seung Hyun (T.O.P’s birth name) oppa came over to our house a lot.


When asked if he was chubbier back then, she answered, “He was, but he was attractive then too. He used to rap to himself everywhere he went.”


The curious MCs then asked if she had a personal crush on him, and she responded honestly by saying, “A little bit…


The string of questions didn’t end there, as the MCs wanted to know if T.O.P still recognizes her. “He should,” she said. “I saw him once after he debuted, and he recognized me. He told me I grew up quite a bit.

Kangta on his ‘Voice Korea’ team, “Is this how Lee Soo Man must have felt?”





During an interview for Mnet‘s ‘Voice Korea‘, coach Kangta discussed his feelings about the show and watching his team of contestants perform.


Kangta stated, “All of the sudden, ‘Voice Korea’ became my life. I feel good whenever I come to record the show. I don’t feel tired. They are like family to me.”


While commenting on his team, he stated, “One day, I thought to myself, ‘Is this how Lee Soo Man must have felt when he was bring us up?’”


“Of course, I am not acting as a producer nor have much affiliation with the show outside of the program, but I feel good anyways.”


During the semi-final episode of ‘Voice Korea’ which aired on the 4th, contestants Woo Hye Mi, Yoo Sung Eun, Jee Sae Hee, and Son Seung Yeon advanced to the Top 4. Tune in for the upcoming finale on the 11th at 11 PM KST to see who will be crowned as the winner of ‘Voice Korea’.

‘Voice Korea’ contestants to feature in Leessang’s upcoming album





Leessang‘s Gil revealed that two ‘Voice Korea‘ contestants have lent their voices for the newest Leessang album to be released later this month.


On May 4th, an interview was conducted with ‘Voice Korea’ coaches Baek Ji Young, Shin Seung Hoon, Gil, and Kangta at the Times Square in Seoul.


Coach Gil remarked, “Our new album that drops May 18th features two of the ‘Voice Korea’ contestants.”


I would like to keep it a secret for now, and I hope everyone will find out by listening to our album,” he continued with a laugh.


There were a number of ‘Voice Korea’ contestants whom I wanted to include in our new album,” he added. “A lot of thoughts went through my mind, and I realized that there are so many talented people out there. This program helped me want to take my music more seriously.”


In related news, the semi-finals of ‘Voice Korea’ took place May 4th.

f(x) members spotted in the audience for ‘Voice Korea’





f(x)‘s members, Luna, Amber, and Sulli were spotted on April 27th’s airing of Mnet‘s ‘Voice Korea‘.


The three sat side by side with focused expressions as they watched the live performances. The members were captured on screen with a close up on Sulli, and immediately gained the attention of viewers.


During the episode, viewers commented via SNS, “The person that just came on was Sulli right?” and “Looks like an actress at the awards ceremony


Meanwhile, as reported earlier, fans will be able to see Sulli in the new Korean drama adaption of ‘Hana Kimi‘, ‘To the Beautiful You’, along with SHINee‘s Minho, as they were both confirmed for the lead roles.

Kangta goes shopping with his team from ‘Voice Korea’





A picture of Kangta going shopping with his team from Mnet‘s ‘Voice Korea‘ has been revealed.


Kangta uploaded a photo and tweeted on April 26th, “Preparations for the 2nd round live broadcast of Voice Korea is complete, even our wardrobe! We are at Dongdaemun, it is 2:30AM, Team Kangta! Sae Hee, Hyuk Soo, Keun Suk, and Na Hyun fighting~.


In the photo, you can see Kangta’s team members from ‘Voice Korea’ surrounding him.  They are all smiling with Keun Suk and Na Hyun holding up a ‘V’ for victory while Sae Hee and Hyuk look like they are ready for bed. Still, they are all holding shopping bags full of goodies, and seem to have had a great time.


What is especially heartwarming is that you can sense that the team truly cares and looks out for each other.


Baek Ji Young, who saw Kangta’s tweet, responded with a hint of envy writing, “You even went to buy clothes? Kangta is the greatest coach! Everyone must be so happy. See you all on Friday!


Followers who saw Kangta’s message commented, “Such a cool coach,” “Wow, hwaiting,” and “I am envious. And at such an hour…

Baek Ji Young advises Kangta to go public with his next relationship





Singer Baek Ji Young strongly recommended that Kangta go public with his next relationship.


As we reported earlier, Kangta invited Baek Ji Young as his first guest on his new cooking show ‘Kangta’s Pasta e Basta‘. The two, who are both working as coaches on Mnet‘s ‘Voice Korea‘, are known to be close friends outside of work. Kangta invited Baek Ji Young on his show and personally cooked pasta for her, and the two revealed their thoughts on relationships.


As soon as Kangta brought out the pasta he had personally made, Baek Ji Young advised him with her usual cool charm, “You need to find someone who will eat the food you cook. Why don’t you have a girlfriend? Just go do it.” To her advice, Kangta honestly revealed, “I’m the type who goes all-in into relationships, but before I start a relationship, I’m really careful. I want to be in a public relationship, but it’s hard because I also have to think of the other person’s point of view and watch out for her.”


Baek Ji Young, who is currently in a public relationship with her younger boyfriend Jung Suk Won, strongly recommended for Kangta to go public with a relationship, saying, “A lot of people around us knew about us, so we had no choice but to go public with our relationship. But once we revealed that we were dating, things became easier and it’s really nice.”


Along with Baek Ji Young’s honest and frank relationship advice, the two coaches shared behind-the-scenes stories from ‘Voice Korea’. The episode will air on April 26th on Olive Channel at 1PM KST.
