JYJ’s Yoochun wins 2 individual awards from ’2012 Seoul International Drama Awards’

JYJ‘s Yoochun has yet again claimed more wins at the ‘Seoul International Drama Awards‘!

‘Seoul International Drama Awards 2012′ held an online poll asking netizens to determine the winner for the ‘Popularity Award’ and ‘Hallyu Drama Award’ portions of the ceremony. The voting took place from July 28th through August 10th and the results were officially announced recently.

It turns out Yoochun has once again claimed the ‘Popularity Award’ as well as winning the ‘Hallyu Drama – Male Actor’ category (He won these awards in 2011 as well). ‘Rooftop Prince‘ also won in the category for ‘Hallyu Drama’, which can be considered another win for Yoochun since he was the male lead in the drama.

‘Hallyu Drama – Female Actress’ award went to Yoochun’s co-star Han Ji Min, and in the OST category for Hallyu Drama, “Missing You Like Crazy” for ‘The King 2 Hearts‘ by Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon was chosen.

The stars who received the netizens’ ‘Popularity Award’ and the various awards for the ‘Hallyu Drama’ category will be attending the award ceremony on the 30th. Full list of the other winners will also be revealed later on.

Lee Seung Gi comments on acting after ‘The King 2 Hearts’

Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi disclosed his feelings on acting after starring in the drama ‘The King 2 Hearts‘.

Lee Seung Gi posted on his fan cafe on May 26, “To be honest, I was in despair during February, very much feeling [my] limits in terms of acting. Working with these [incredible sunbaes], I acted with the thought that I must not be a negative [to the drama] in mind, and each day I gave my all,” sharing the burden he felt while filming for the series.

He went on, “I don’t know when all 20 episodes finished, it felt like a brief instant. [I don't think I'll get a role like Lee Jae Ha again], and I feel as if it’ll have a long-lasting effect on me. If I insisted on the actor’s path after getting a bit of praise and thinking ‘Ah, now my acting eyes have been opened,’ it’s likely that I’ll regress quickly.”

The multi-talented star ended with a few words of gratitude towards his fans: “To all the fans who love ‘The King 2 Hearts’, thank you and thank you. I love you.”

‘The King 2 Hearts’ wrapped up on May 24, and Lee Seung Gi is preparing for his first concert in Japan coming up on June 1.

Ha Ji Won shyly reveals she’s only been in two relationships

Actress Ha Ji Won, who is currently in the spotlight with her role in the drama ‘The King 2 Hearts‘, appeared on the May 5th episode of ‘Entertainment Relay‘.

As the recording took place on the busy streets of Gangnam, fans crowded around, eager to catch a glimpse and interact with the star.

One fan in particular stepped forward to question the star, “When was the last time you were in a relationship?” to which the actress shyly answered, “It’s been quite a while. About 7~8 years ago?”

When asked how many times she has been in a relationship, Ha Ji Won seemed to fall into deep thought, but honestly replied, “Twice,” with a shy smile on her face.

On the same episode, Ha Ji Won also revealed her secret to maintaining her youthful appearance and her kiss scenes with male stars, capturing the attention of female viewers.

‘Equator Man’ beats out ‘The King 2 Hearts’ and ‘Rooftop Prince’ in viewer ratings

Results for the viewer ratings of the Wednesday/Thursday dramas are out, and KBS‘s ‘Equator Man’ remains in the lead.

AGB Nielson Media Research released the viewer ratings recorded for the April 25th broadcasts and revealed that MBC‘s ‘The King 2 Hearts‘ rose 0.5% compared to its last episode, recording at 11.3%. SBS’s ‘Rooftop Prince‘ came in last place at 10.6%, a 0.8% drop compared to its previous episode.

KBS’s ‘Equator Man’ rose 3% since its last broadcast, recording 15% and securing its spot at first. Considering that the drama had been recording last in the beginning of its run, the development of its strong story line seems to be proving to work in gaining the support of viewers.

T-ara’s Eunjung reveals her drama dilemma

T-ara‘s Eunjung recently revealed that she is watching MBC‘s Wednesday/Thursday drama ‘The King 2 Hearts‘.

On April 24th she tweeted, “It’s a war between the Wednesday/Thursday dramas…’The King 2 Hearts’, ‘Equator Man’, and ‘Rooftop Prince’ are all so fun! It’s so hard to decide which channel to turn to. Because of my schedule, I am not gonna be able to watch for two weeks. So sad. I’m currently watching ‘The King 2 Hearts’ with my mom.”

In related news, MBC’s ‘The King 2 Hearts’, KBS2 TV‘s ‘Equator Man‘, and SBS‘s ‘Rooftop Prince‘ are in a war over viewership numbers. Last week ‘Equator Man’, which was in last place, rose to first by their 9th episode. However, ‘Equator Man’ and ‘The King 2 Hearts’, which was third, only differ by a 1.2% viewer rating. These three dramas are definitely in a heated battle for first!

KBS drama ‘Equator Man’ leads ‘Rooftop Prince’ and ‘The King 2 Hearts’ in viewer ratings

KBS 2TV‘s ‘Equator Man‘ has come out on top once again.

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, 13% of the nation tuned in to watch the April 19th episode of ‘Equator Man’, thereby protecting its place as the #1 drama from last week. SBS ‘Rooftop Prince‘ came in 2nd with 12% viewer ratings, while MBC‘s ‘The King 2 Hearts‘ came in 3rd with 10.5%.

Despite the fact that ‘Rooftop Prince’ aired two consecutive episodes in order to try to capture more viewer ratings, the 2nd episode of ‘Rooftop Prince’ still lost out to ‘Equator Man’, only garnering 10.4%.

‘Equator Man’ received 12% in viewer ratings on the 18th, which made it the top drama in that time slot for the first time since it started airing, but its performance on the 19th showed an increase in viewer ratings, which seemed to further cement its position as the new top drama.

‘Equator Man’ is looking to increase viewer ratings even more with star Uhm Tae Woong‘s  acting skills, and the drama’s solid storyline.
