Details on JYJ’s Junsu upcoming solo repackaged album released

More details on JYJ Junsu‘s upcoming repackaged solo album have been revealed.

The singer is currently in Los Angeles working with a long list of top staff members to perfect his album to the best of his ability. C-JeS Entertainment stated, “Junsu is currently recording English songs for his world tour, and there are plans for him to begin recording a music video shortly.”

The representative continued, “We cannot yet release the song’s title and genre, but the album includes the participation of Sony Music‘s composer Bruce Automatic Vanderveer, who previously worked with the likes of Christina Aguilera, The Wanted, and Leona Lewis earlier this year.”

Composer Automatic expressed, “I was surprised by XIA, as he’s someone who truly sings from the heart. I thought we’d need two days for his recording process, but we really only needed one. Throughout the recording, I couldn’t help but be impressed by his skills. I’m really glad to be able to work with him.”

His music video will also be a collaboration with top names. Directed by Marc Klasfeld, who has experience producing for “We are Young“, which was a recent Billboard hit, along with Beyonce, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Far East Movement. He stated, “I was surprised when I saw XIA’s music video for ‘Tarantallegra’. His performance was amazing, as is the same with his facial expressions and acting. I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Junsu himself expressed, “I earned a lot of confidence after releasing my worldwide album and going on a world tour. I feel that my confidence will build towards even better results. I’m glad that I’m working with such amazing people.”

His first solo repackaged album will be released mid-August. Junsu will then go on a world tour until October, which includes concerts in North and South America as well as Europe.

JYJ’s Junsu achieves a new record on Gaon Chart with ‘TARANTALLEGRA’!

JYJ Junsu‘s solo album, TARANTALLEGRA, is seeing a lot of success despite the lack of broadcast promotions.

It has passed the 120,000 sales mark, achieving a new record on Gaon! A Gaon Chart representative commented, “XIA – TARANTALLEGRA has reached the 120,000 mark last week, and recorded the highest number by a solo artist on Gaon Chart… This is the biggest number of sales for a solo artist since Gaon Chart was established. Even though there hasn’t been any broadcast promotions, because this is an album with a variety of genres incorporated into it, it has brought in new fans in addition to existing fans.”

As well as his domestic success in Korea, Junsu’s music video is gaining interest in China. Back in May, the music video for ‘TARANTALLEGRA’ achieved first place on Chinese music video website Yin Yue Tai‘s monthly chart. Junsu’s record label representatives from C-JeS Entertainment commented on the feat, saying, “We know that the people of China have difficulty in accessing Youtube and Twitter, and that any album that rises on their music video site reflects the public interest and standards of China. There is a great significance attached to [Junsu's] accomplishment, especially considering the fact that ‘TARANTALLEGRA’ ranked above the music videos of Super Junior and Taetiseo, who both have had broadcast performances and promotions.”

Furthermore, Junsu’s Asia Tour is in the process of achieving great success. This past May, Junsu held a series of 10 concerts at the Jamsil Stadium in Korea, selling out 15,000 seats. His tour stops in Thailand, Indonesia, and Taiwan, have also sold out.

In light of Junsu’s recent achievements, C-JeS Entertainment’s CEO Baek Chang Joo stated, “We expected the restriction from broadcasting activity, and decided to take a more direct approach. We set our goals on making an album of 12 songs, enlisting the best American choreographer, and organizing a series of perfect concerts. Furthermore, we produced a world class quality music video and didn’t hesitate in investing in it, and the outcome was a success. I believe this was possible because we had belief and confidence in Junsu’s ability as an artist.

In other news, Junsu recently posted the dance version of his TARANTALLEGRA on Youtube. Make sure to go and see what all the buzz is about!

JYJ’s Junsu (XIA) to release a dance-version MV for “TARANTALLEGRA”

JYJ‘s Junsu (XIA) who released his first formal solo album will be releasing a dance version music video for his title song, “TARANTALLEGRA“.

C-JeS Entertainment talked about the upcoming MV on June 7th saying, “The dance version is a way to better promote his album to the fans overseas as he prepares for his Asia Tour.

They continued, “Different from the MV that displayed his unconventional concept by creating a fantasy-like epicene appearance of a magician, this new dance version will focus more on the performance itself, and fans will be able to recognize the extent of Kim Junsu’s performance capabilities.

Once again, Kim Junsu well pulled off the high-level choreography put together by Jeri Slaughter, choreographer of world-famous pop singer Christina Aguilera.

The director of the MV also added, “The focus of the first MV was Kim Junsu’s epicene appeals, however, this dance version MV has been edited to better highlight the performance that was overshadowed by Junsu’s appearance. New scenes that could not be included in the original MV have also been included, creating an entirely new video.”

After his album’s release, Junsu embarked on an Asia Tour starting in Seoul and Thailand. In order to thank his fans for their explosive support, the singer also held an autograph event to personally meet and speak with his fans.

Junsu’s dance version MV will be release on June 11th through JYJ’s official Youtube channel.

Junsu’s ‘Tarantallegra’ attains massive success in Japan

Junsu‘s (XIA) solo album ‘Tarantallegra‘ is receiving an explosive reaction in Japan.

On May 18th, CJES Entertainment revealed, “XIA’s first solo album has taken the #1 spot on Japan’s Itunes. What is even more surprising it that he surpassed Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber to receive the #1 spot, proving XIA’s massive popularity in Japan.”

Pre-orders for ‘Tarantallegra’ grabbed first place at Tower Records Japan as soon as the release date of Junsu’s album was announced earlier this month, and the album completely sold out on the day of its release. Junsu’s solo album also snagged the #1 spot for sales in Japan’s Rakuten and Amazon site.

A music official from Japan stated, “After the explosive amount of pre-order sales, the album is now becoming a scarcity. This is even more surprising because Junsu has not had any activities in Japan lately.

A representative of CJES Entertainment said, “Japan’s response towards XIA’s first album is really hot. The Japanese public has been looking forward to Junsu’s music and performances, I think it is because of Junsu’s solid fan base in Japan. Another reason why this album is gaining so much popularity is because it’s compelling in that it attempts to be exceptional and sensational at the same time. It’s just a well-made album derived from Junsu’s own skill.

In related news, ‘Tarantallegra’ is also running short in stock on Korean online sites, and gaining many favorable reviews.

JYJ’s Junsu discusses his thoughts on releasing his solo album, ‘Tarantallegra’

On May 16th, JYJ‘s Junsu attended a press conference for the release of ‘Tarantallegra‘ and shared his thoughts on producing his first solo album.

Junsu expressed, “For the first time in eight years, I’ve released my very own solo album under the name XIA. There was the pressure of having to fill an entire album with only my voice, but I’m proud that I was able to try the genres I’ve always wanted to, with a concept I personally came up with.”

The ‘Tarantallegra’ album is comprised of 12 tracks, and 8 of them are personal compositions by Junsu. Rappers Gaeko, Flowsik, and Bizzy are also featured in the album, while fellow JYJ member Jaejoong gifted him with track “No Gain“, which is a nice balance between the ballads and dance tracks.

Junsu continued, “The album was inevitably a tiring production, because I was making it under the notion of knowing that I could not promote it on broadcast shows, but that’s why I paid more attention to the quality of my music video and the album itself. Fortunately, I was left with a lot more freedom of expression.”

XIA will be holding a solo concert on the 19th and 20th.
