MBC to air Psy’s ‘The Drenched Show’ concert

Earlier this month, Psy held his summer concert series ‘Summer Stand – The Drenched Show‘ in Korea, which many of us missed out on. However, it seems we’re in luck for MBC has obtained the rights to air the concert footage for the general public to see!

In celebration of Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day) coming up in September, MBC will air Psy’s concert and all its included performances on September 30th.

As reported earlier, the singer and his music video have gone viral on the web, leading to numerous international TV appearances by the singer as well as the music video for “Gangnam Style” nearing 60 million views and reaching #1 on YouTube and iTunes charts.

2NE1 sends a wreath to Psy, ‘Mapo Style’

With Psy‘s ‘Summer Stand The Drenched Show’ concert taking place, the members of 2NE1 set out to commemorate the occasion by sending the singer a congratulatory wreath.

On August 11th, Dara posted a picture on her me2day along with the comment, “This is a wreath that 2NE1 sent to the CNN Star Psy oppa hoping that the concert is daebak! Go to the ‘Summer Stand, The Drenched Show 2012′ and get drenched~!!! RUN!!!”

The picture features the splendidly decorated wreath with a message that reads, “CNN Star Psy oppa! Good luck with your ‘Drenched Show’. From ‘Mapo Style’ 2NE1.”

Fans responded, “I wanted to go to Psy’s concert too.“, “Fighting to Mapostyle and Gangnam Style.”

Psy to parody SISTAR’s “Alone” at his summer concert

It has been revealed that singer Psy, who recently made his comeback in two years with ‘Psy’s Best Sixth‘, will be treating his fans to a parody performance of SISTAR‘s “Alone” at his upcoming summer concert.

Psy has been known for parodying various celebrities such as Lee Hyori, BoA, Park Ji Yoon, Beyonce, and even Girls’ Generation at his concerts, receiving a hot response from fans. This time around, Psy will be parodying SISTAR’s hit song “Alone”.

During a recent chat event with fans on July 19th, Psy revealed, “The female artists I’ll be parodying at my upcoming concert will be SISTAR. In order to live up to expectations, I’ll be wearing a tight skirt and perform ‘Alone’ this time.”

Psy’s summer concert, ‘Summer Stand the Drenched Show‘, will be held on August 11th at the Seoul Jamsil Stadium.

Meanwhile, Psy is maintaing the #1 spot for six consecutive days on various music charts with “Gangnam Style“. The singer will be appearing on the July 20th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Dancing With the Stars 2‘ and is also scheduled to guest on the July 23rd episode of SBS‘s ‘Healing Camp‘.

Ulala Session to open for Psy’s upcoming summer concert

Ulala Session will open up the stage for Psy‘s upcoming summer concert, ‘Summer Stand the Drenched Show‘, which will be held on August 11th.

Psy’s interest in the group has always been apparent as he wrote and composed Ulala Session’s title song, “Beautiful Night“, from their first mini-album. In addition, he also agreed to become one of the judges for ‘Superstar K4′ after watching Ulala Session on ‘Superstar K3′.

Meanwhile, Psy recently released his cover and tracklist for his comeback album, ‘Psy’s Best Sixth Part 1‘, after a 2 year hiatus and his newest album, dubbed as ‘featuring special’ album, will be filled with songs featuring top artists. ‘Psy’s Best Sixth Part 1′ is said to be released online on July 15th.
