Wonder Girls featured on front page of New York’s hit music station, Z100





The Wonder Girls have been featured on the front page of New York’s hit music station, Z100‘s website.


As the first Korean girl group to make an effort to break in to the American music market, the girls first promoted their hit songs Nobody and Tell Me, joining the Jonas Brothers on their 2009 world tour. After lying low for a while, the girls returned with their new track ‘Like Money‘ featuring Akon, and have seemed to catch the eye of the hit radio station.


Titled the ‘Wonder Girls Online Chat‘, the post alerts all Wonderfuls of the girls’ live online chat to be held at 2PM ET on September 5th .


In addition, it gives fans the opportunity to ask a question ahead of time in the comments section below so check out the website to ask the girls anything you’ve wanted to ask!

Wonder Girls host a special event to celebrate their Japanese debut





To celebrate their first major Japanese release, girl group Wonder Girls hosted a special fan event to showcase their debut single “Nobody” among other performances.


Prior to the event, a press conference was held for the girls to express their excitement to pursue their latest goal in their career; the breakthrough in the Japanese industry.


“We’re so nervous and excited to be promoting in Japan,” exclaimed Yenny, “It’s always exciting to perform in front of a new audience. We hope we can get to know our Japanese fans a lot better, and maybe even have our own concert for our Japanese fans in the near future.


I think it’s our first time performing at a venue where we can be this close to our fans,” said Sohee, “We have a lot of songs prepared for you guys, so I hope you will all join in to sing and dance.


On the topic of Wonder Girls’ sound and performance, Sun answered, “Our music features addictive melodies with fun dance moves that are easy to follow. Our musical aim is to make music that’s not only fun to listen to, but fun to watch as well!


Meanwhile, the girls released their debut Japanese album ‘Nobody for Everybody‘ on July 25th and managed to rank #7 on the Oricon charts just a day after release. The girls will also be busy preparing for their performances with their labelmates as a part of the upcoming concert, ‘JYP Nation‘ in Korea and Japan.

Wonder Girls’ “Nobody” secures #1 on Japanese chart, Recochoku!











The Japanese version of Wonder Girls‘ hit song Nobody” has ranked #1 on the CM (TV commercial) and ringtone charts of prominent digital website Recochoku!


Back in April, the Wonder Girls endorsed Kowa‘s body powder ‘Marshpuff Kowa’ via a CM, in which the Japanese version of “Nobody” was used as background music. After having revealed a sneak peek of their single (although their official debut Japanese album will not be released until July), it was decided to make “Nobody” available for download earlier on June 25th. On the same day of its release, the single impressively claimed the number 1 spot on Recochoku’s CM and ringtone Daily charts.


JYP Entertainment commented, “[Even] before the release of the album, the Japanese version of ‘Nobody’, a work of [one of the] original idols the Wonder Girls, gained a lot of interest.“ In regards to the Wonder Girls’ future Japanese promotions, they added, “We ask for your unwavering support for the Wonder Girls who are promoting both domestically and overseas.”


On July 25th, the Wonder Girls will be releasing their first Japanese album ’Nobody for Everybody‘. The group will then follow up with a special event in Tokyo on July 26th for fans who purchase their album. Prior to their promotions in Japan, the Wonder Girls will also hold a solo concert in Seoul.

The Wonder Girls are getting ready for their Japanese debut with their hit track, “Nobody“, off their Japanese album ‘Nobody for Everybody‘. With their album release date slowly approaching, the group has unveiled concept photos on their official Twitter.


Very different from the gold sequined dresses we saw the girls utilize for their past “Nobody” promotions, the girls this time around sport brightly colored dresses while holding a matching ring to frame their faces.


‘Nobody for Everybody’ will come in three different versions including two limited versions type A, type B, as well as a regular edition. The album is slated for release on July 25th, so until then, check out the images below!
