Big Bang’s “Fantastic Baby” tops half-year chart on Japan’s ‘Dwango’

Big Bang has taken first place on the half-year chart of one of Japan’s biggest digital music sites, ‘Dwango‘.

‘Dwango’ recently released their list of top charting songs for the first half of 2012, and revealed that Big Bang came out on top in the K-Pop category with their latest hit track, “Fantastic Baby“, a song off of their ‘Alive‘ album.

This isn’t the only piece of news that demonstrates Big Bang’s soaring popularity in Japan, as the boys also recently sold out their Japanese tour to a 250,000 audience members, while member Seungri is scheduled for a variety of programs in Japan starting this September.

Big Bang will be continuing their world tour on July 21st in China so they’re looking ahead to a busy second half of the year.

Big Bang and T-ara named the Kings and Queens for first half of 2012 album sales

Gaon Chart has unveiled the top artists in physical and digital sales for the first half of 2012!

Perhaps to nobody’s surprise, Big Bang and T-ara were named the Kings and Queens of sales for the year so far, as they each came out on top in the categories of physical album sales and digital album sales respectively.

Big Bang took first with their fifth mini-album, ‘Alive‘, which recorded 267,319 units in sales through May, setting it at nearly 100,000 units in lead against SHINee, who took second place with 165,411 units with ‘Sherlock‘.

Girls’ Generation‘s sub-unit TaeTiSeo took third with ‘Twinkle‘, recording 139,388 units in sales.

As for the digital charts, T-ara’s “Lovey Dovey” took the lead, followed by Big Bang’s “Blue” and “Fantastic Baby” in second and third respectively.

Fourth was taken by the biggest rookie of the year, Busker Busker, and their greatest hit, “Cherry Blossom Ending“. The super rookies are a strong contender on the physical charts as well, as they’ve sold 104,180 units of their debut album to date.

Following after Busker Busker is rookie Ailee in fifth.

Big Bang confirms New Jersey date and venue for ‘Alive Tour 2012′

Big Bang previously confirmed the first stops in North America for their worldwide tour, ‘Alive Tour 2012‘, which will cover a total of 25 cities and 16 countries.

The date and venue for Los Angeles, California was confirmed yesterday, and now more details for their stop in New Jersey have been revealed. Though the time schedule on Big Bang’s official Facebook had New York listed as a location, it seems the concert will actually be held in New Jersey.

Big Bang’s concert will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on November 9th.

Big Bang confirms Los Angeles date and location for ‘Alive Tour 2012′

Big Bang previously confirmed the first stops in North America for their worldwide tour, ‘Alive Tour 2012‘, which will cover a total of 25 cities and 16 countries.

Though both Los Angeles, California and New York, New York have been confirmed, only the date and location for Los Angeles have been revealed as of now. Big Bang’s LA concert is currently scheduled for November 3rd at the Honda Center.

Fans in Los Angeles, California and New York, New York can start saving their money as the two locations have now been added to the list of 25 cities and 16 countries around the globe that Big Bang will be travelling to.

Big Bang adds Thailand and Singapore to ‘Alive Tour 2012′ list

Big Bang has confirmed Thailand and Singapore as tour locations for their concert ‘Alive Tour 2012‘, which will have stops in a total of 25 cities and 16 countries in Asia, North America, South America, and Europe.

An updated list was posted on Big Bang’s official Facebook. The Philippines and Malaysia have already been confirmed, and Indonesia and Taiwan were announced yesterday. Only one more country in Asia has yet to be revealed, while ‘Alive Tour 2012′ locations in North America, South America, and Europe have not been confirmed.

Big Bang has confirmed two more locations for their concert ‘Alive Tour 2012‘, which will have stops in a total of 25 cities and 16 countries in Asia, North America, South America, and Europe.

An updated list cementing Indonesia and Taiwan as tour locations was just posted on Big Bang’s official Facebook. This leaves only 3 more countries in Asia to be revealed, while ‘Alive Tour 2012′ locations in North America, South America, and Europe have yet to be confirmed.

Big Bang’s ‘ALIVE’ goes Gold in Japan

Big Bang‘s ‘ALIVE‘ is enjoying success in Japan.

The Korean version of ‘ALIVE’ recently surpassed the 250,000 sales mark in Korea and went Double Platinum in Taiwan. Their success has continued into Japan as the Japanese version of ‘ALIVE’ has been certified ‘Gold‘ by the RIAJ (Recording Industry Association of Japan).

When an album sells more than 100,000 copies, the RIAJ publicly acknowledges the artist’s achievement, labeling the album as ‘Gold’. Other certifications include Platinum (250,000 copies), Double Platinum (500,000 copies), and Million (1,000,000).

Concluding their promotions in Korea, the group will now be focusing on their World Tour as they will have thirteen shows in Japan and are expecting to bring in over 150,000 of their Japanese fans.

Big Bang to conclude ‘ALIVE’ promotions with a final performance on ‘Inkigayo’

Idol group Big Bang is preparing to wrap up promotions for their mini-album, ‘ALIVE‘.

Their agency YG Entertainment remarked, “Big Bang will be wrapping up promotions for their mini-album ‘ALIVE’ with a final performance on April 29th’s SBS ‘Inkigayo‘ and will be focusing on their Japan Tour.”

Big Bang began their activities for this mini-album by kicking off their first World Tour performance in Seoul this past March, and the boys have broken numerous records since.

The group coined each track on their album as title songs, and all the tracks claimed the #1 through #7 spots on various music charts, receiving an explosive reaction from the fans.

Their track “Fantastic Baby” has proved to be a fan favorite, as it still remains within the top 10 on the charts, even after 2 months of being released. Their album has sold an impressive number of over 270,000 copies, more than any other album released this year.

‘ALIVE’ also broke the top 200 on Billboard without participating in any separate promotions or releasing an English version of the album. Big Bang also became the first Korean artist to have a photo of their performance be showcased on the main page of the Grammy Awards website.

Big Bang also visited Taiwan for the very first time, and their songs climbed to the #1 spot on 8 different Taiwanese music charts, and during their Seoul concert, Big Bang also broke a record for drawing the most Japanese attendees in the history of concert performances.

Once Big Bang conclude promotions for ‘ALIVE’, they will be shifting their focus on their World Tour which will first take them to five cities in Japan this May, performing for 150,000 of their Japanese fans.
