With a glittering array of cast names like Kim Hye Soo, Jun Ji Hyun, Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Yun Suk, Lee Jung Jae and many more, Korean movie ‘The Thieves’ continues to impress at the box office as it was revealed that it has surpassed the 7.5 million mark as of ticket sales at August 7th.
It was revealed that ticket sales for August 7th numbered 324,855 as ‘The Thieves’ led the daily chart once more. In addition, with ticket sales now past the 7.5 million mark, it has also surpassed Hollywood blockbuster, ‘The Avengers’ which obtained 7.06 million viewers in the early half of 2012.
‘The Thieves’ is about a team of 10 professional teams from Korea and China who team up to steal a rare and famous diamond called ‘Diamond Tears’ from a Macau casino.
Meanwhile, Hollywood blockbuster ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ had ticket sales of over 90,000 on August 7th and their accumulated ticket sales now number 5,720,000; Animation ‘Sammy’s Adventures 2’ had ticket sales of 509,423 on the same day and their accumulated ticket sales now number 665,337; ‘Ice Age 4’ had ticket sales of 46,121 on the same day and their accumulated ticket sales now number 1,285,519; Korean movie ‘Horror Stories’ had ticket sales of 12,619 on the same day and their accumulated ticket sales now number 294,375.
