Kim Ji Suk reveals that time in the military turned him into a fanboy of IU and girl groups

Actor Kim Ji Suk recently shared his love for IU and idol girls groups that developed during his time in the military.

In a recent interview held on the 21st in Seoul for his upcoming movie, ‘Two Moons‘, Kim Ji Suk revealed, “Before I entered the military, I didn’t even watch any music channels. However, after entering the military, I would turn on a cable music channel every 6 AM.”

Kim Ji Suk further revealed the mentality of men in the military, “When you enter the military, you naturally start to like idol girl groups. The type of girl group you like depends on the amount of time and the level of rank you are in the military. At first, I liked girl groups with a sexy image like SISTAR and RaNia, but as I got promoted higher and the time for my discharge came closer, I started liking girls who I wanted to protect like a girlfriend, like IU.”

When asked if Girls’ Generation has the most popularity among the military, Kim Ji Suk replied, “Because Girls’ Generation has always been a favorite among all military men, there is no need for words [on how popular they are].”

Meanwhile, ‘Two Moons’ starring Kim Ji Suk is set for release on July 12th. Directed by Kim Dong Bin, the movie tells the mysterious story of three people who end up losing their memory after visiting an isolated home.
