Psy’s ‘Summer Stand’ solo concert literally catches on fire

It’s been reported that Psy‘s concert literally caught on fire.

On the 11th at 7PM KST, Psy held his ‘Summer Stand‘ solo concert at Seoul’s Jamsil Olympic Stadium. During his ninth and finale performance, a curtain at the top of the stage suddenly started burning.

Attempting to calm the crowd, Psy wittily remarked, “The fire must’ve started because we were having too much fun.”

However, things took a dangerous turn when flaming embers began to drop from above. He continued, “I think we’ll need time to clear all this,” and began to sing “I Told You She’s My Girl“, reassuring the audience.

About two minutes after the fire began, the burning curtain was brought down, and all the equipment on stage was sprayed with water, extinguishing the flames.

Psy apologized, “I put the white curtain up there to look like snow, but I guess I shouldn’t have. Next time, I won’t be doing anything dangerous like this.”

Psy keeps his promise and buys 30,000 copies of his album for fans

Fans are learning that in addition to being a top performer, Psy is also a true man of his word.

The singer wrote via his personal me2day page on August 6th, “I am fulfilling my promise with a joyous and overflowing heart! Finished purchasing 30,000 copies of my formal sixth album, ‘Psy’s Best 6th’ to hand out to the audience of ‘Summer Stand’.

He added, “P.S. these sales are not counted towards the number of albums sold in total, so please do not misunderstand.”

Ahead of his recent me2day post, Psy had previously promised that if all 30,000 seats for his ‘Psy’s Summer Stand’ show being held at the Jamsil Sports Complex August 11th sold out, he would spend his own money to gift each of the audience members with a copy of his album.

Netizens who heard the news of Psy’s generous act remarked, “I wasn’t even expecting it, but I guess I’m getting an album!“, “Psy is awesome for keeping his promise!”, “30,000 seats got sold out? His popularity is amazing!”, and “Lucky fans who are going to his concert.”

Meanwhile, Psy made a lavish comeback for the first time in two years with his new song, “Gangnam Style“, the MV for which is currently going viral online and being talked about on famous sites overseas.

PSY to make a comeback with album in July

PSY will be making a comeback with a full-length album in July.

According to several staff members, the new album is in its final stages of production. It’s been two years in the making since Psy released his 5th album, which included the track “Right Now“.

YG Entertainment commented that the title song for the upcoming 6th album hasn’t been decided yet. They are in the midst of deciding between a song that reminds people of PSY’s past hits, such as “Champion” and “Bird“, and a song that is completely different from what he’s released before. The album may also feature double title songs or be released in two parts.

In addition, the agency staff is calling the album a “featuring special” because it will include a number of collaborations with prominent artists.

After the release of his upcoming album, PSY plans to launch a summer concert brand, ‘Summer Stand‘, this coming August.
