Seo In Guk to debut as an actor with ‘Love Rain’

Singer Seo In Guk will knock on the door of the acting world with KBS‘s ‘Love Rain‘.

Earlier today, the marketing team for ‘Love Rain’ stated, “Seo In Guk will transform into a law student named Kim Chang Mo who dominated music cafes in the 70′s. The character is a romanticist, crazy about guitar and music. Seo In Guk even gained weight to portray a optimistic yet lazy character.”

Seo In Guk shared about his thoughts on this new challenge, “I really wanted the role as Kim Chang Mo. I went into it with the thought ‘Let’s not show Seo In Guk in Kim Chang Mo.’ I even tried hard to walk like Kim Chang Mo. Because I’m so engaged in the character, the fans are disappointed at seeing someone so different from the Seo In Guk they used to know, but that’s the exact response I wanted.”

He continued, “It was my first time acting so of course it was very difficult. But my friend Jang Geun Suk helped me a lot in acting and analyzing the character. Thanks to him I was able to get used to acting faster. The first episode of ‘Love Rain’ is approaching quickly and I’m really excited to see how it turned out. I hope many will watch.”

The director complimented Seo In Guk by saying, “Even though it was his first time acting, Seo In Guk is talented and was able to portray the character well. People will be seeing a very different side of him in the drama.”

The highly anticipated ‘Love Rain’ starring Jang Geun Suk and YoonA from Girl’s Generation will air its first episode on March 26th.

INFINITE’s Sungkyu & Woohyun to debut in a musical with Seo In Guk

Members Sungkyu and Woohyun of idol group INFINITE along with Mnet Super Star K winner Seo In Guk will be making their respective debut as musical stars.

The boys will be playing roles in the new musical, ’Kwangha Gate Sonata‘ that will be playing at the LG Arts Center in Seoul on February 7th to March 11th.

‘Gwangha Gate Sonata’ is a juke box musical that features hit songs by the late composer, Lee Young Hoon, including “Past Love” and “When Love Passes You By“. The musical first aired at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts last year.

Sungkyu and Woohyun will be playing the role of the female lead Yeoju’s son, Jiyong (Note: Both members will play the same character for different shows). Jiyong comes to visit Sanghoon in the present and drags him back into the memories, and he is a character that was first played by BEAST‘s Yeoseob when the musical first opened.

Seo In Guk has been double-casted with musical actor Lee Yool, playing a character that cannot stop himself from going after a woman who his best friend is in love with, and protects his brother Sanghoon despite knowing he can lose everything as a result.

Sungkyu and Woohyun displayed their determination by remarking, “We will be prepared to do our best at the role that’s been given to us,” while Seo In Guk said, “I have been passionate about musicals thus far, and I promise to show you a top-notch performance that reflects that.”

Sungkyu, Woohyun, and Seo In Guk will be in the musical alongside stars such as Yoon Do Hyun, Cho Sung Mo, Lee Yool, Lisa, Jung Won Young, Park Jung Hwan, Choi Jaeoong, Kim Tae Han, Kim Young Joo, and Goo Won Young, and tickets for the musical go on sale starting on January 3rd at 3:00PM KST.

IU & Seo In Guk reveal their winter pictorial for ‘Unionbay’

IU and Seo In Guk have finally unveiled their winter pictorial for apparel brand, ‘Unionbay‘.

The photoshoot’s concept this time around was ‘Winter lovers‘. IU and Seo In Guk certainly delivered a cozy, if not playful series of shots as they goofed around with props and posed comfortably together.

As for Unionbay’s new collection, the designers brought back traditional winter patterns, like snowflakes on their accessories and sweaters. They also gave a pop of color to the season’s usual humdrum palette, and added a touch of glossy shine to their padded outerwear.

Apparel brand UNIONBAY is getting ready to reveal their winter advertisements with the help of their endorsement models, IU and Seo In Guk.

Having worked together on several photoshoots before, the two showed off their teamwork and close friendship as they posed for the camera with mischievous expressions.

Seo In Gook is clueless in public

Singer Seo In Gook recently confessed an embarrassing anecdote on ‘Crisis Escape No. 1′ on KBS2 where he made an appearance as a special guest.

During the show, MC Kim Gook Jin asked him, “It’s been two years since you became a celebrity; has there ever been a moment of humiliation?”

“When I go out to restaurants, there are people who ask me if I am a celebrity,” said Seo In Gook. “I’m really not sure how to respond at moments like this.” He also added, “I was once walking down the street, and someone said, ‘It’s Seo In Gook!’ then his friend answered, ‘No way, how is that Seo In Gook’ and they moved on.”

Right after his story, MC Eun Ji Won asked, “What should I do if someone on the street asks me if I’m a celebrity?” then Gil made everyone laugh out loud by responding, “You go ahead and say, ‘Yes, I am Eun Ji Won‘.”

Seo In Gook has recently been casted in the drama ‘Love Rain‘ in which Jang Geun Suk and YoonA from SNSD are main characters, and will show a different image to viewers as an actor.

MTV‘s ‘The Show‘ gives us another week of fun performances by Korea’s top stars! Hosted by f(x)‘s Luna, SECRET‘s Hyosung, plus future idol, Kim Him Chan the program is aims to introduce the hottest stars in K-Pop through three different categories: ‘Hot Singer’, ‘Super Rookie’, and ‘Comeback Singer’.

The September 16th line-up included Davichi, U-Kiss, Seo In Guk, Dal Shabet, Sunny Hill, Chocolate, Brave Girls, Suki, Stellar, Bom, and Crispi Crunch (feat. Sori).
