Jung Il Woo discusses his friendship with co-stars Kim Soo Hyun and Song Jae Rim





Jung Il Woo coped with the sadness from the conclusion of MBC‘s ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun’ with Kim Soo Hyun and Song Jae Rim.


The picture revealed was taken on the set of the drama at the location of the final shooting. Jung Il Wo, saddened by the thought of ending his work with Kim Soo Hyun and Song Jae Rim, took pictures to keep as memories.


Jung Il Woo and Kim Soo Hyun play love rivals on set, but off set they are close friends who are the same age. It is already well known that when Jung Il Woo is on set with Kim Soo Hyun and Song Jae Rim, the laughter never ends.


Jung Il Woo said, “After ‘High Kick’, I didn’t have a lot of opportunities to work with people who were my age. For ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun’ I am happy to have worked with friends who understands each other. I feel good, not only for the great production, but also for being able to make great relationships. We got close after hard days of filming. I am grateful to those friends.”


Jung Il Woo has received much praise for his acting by playing Prince Yang Myung ,a broad minded man with a bright personality, but longs for the love of one woman.


‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun’ aired its final episode this week.

Jung Il Woo reveals his friendship with 2NE1′s Dara





Actor Jung Il Woo of MBC‘s ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun‘ recently guested on Section TV‘s ‘Entertainment Report‘ and revealed his connection to 2NE1‘s Dara.


In his interview, he began talking about a particular friendship with a girl group member. In the past, he had actually had a kiss scene with 2NE1′s Dara in their drama, ‘The Return of Iljimae‘. He stated, “Recently, Dara texted me saying that she was having fun watching my drama. I told her thank you and asked her out for a meal some time.”


He also went ahead and left a video message for Eunjung, revealing that he was a fan of T-ara‘s latest hit, “Lovey Dovey“.


On the topic of his current drama, he talked about the psychological pain he had to endure playing the character of a deeply pained individual. Comparing himself to ‘Yangmyung’, he revealed, “I’m actually a lot like Yangmyung in real life in that I give everything I have to my girlfriend.”


He also went on to tell a funny story where he was unable to wash his face for 40 hours due to the strenuous drama filming, which eventually led to him developing acne.

Jung Il Woo finalizes casting for MBC’s ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun’





With actor Jung Il Woo in the midst of finalizing his casting for MBC‘s new drama, ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun‘, the cast dove into their first script reading.


On December 26th, a representative stated, “On Christmas day, Han Ga In, Kim Soo Hyun, and Jung Il Woo held their first script reading at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan.” According to the representative, the script reading took off to a positive start, with each actor eager and anticipative of the upcoming drama.


Jung Il Woo will be getting into a deadly love triangle with Han Ga In and Kim Soo Hyun, who not only plays the role of the King, but also his stepbrother.


Commenting on his casting, Jung Il Woo stated, “I felt pressured, especially since I had such little time to recover from the ending of my last drama. Still, I loved the plot of the drama and I felt charmed by my character, which aided in my decision to join the cast. I’ll be using the love I received in ‘Flower Boy Ramyun Shop‘ to work even harder and show better acting through ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun’. Please look forward to it.”


The historical drama will begin airing on January 4th.

Jung Il Woo comments on the end of ‘Flower Boy Ramyun Shop’




tvN’s ‘Flower Boy Ramyun Shop‘ has enjoyed wild popularity since its pilot episode, steadily increasing its viewership with each new episode. Unfortunately, the drama will be concluding with 16 episodes this week.

Actor Jung Il Woo expressed his disappointment with the inevitable end, commenting,“Sometimes hot, sometimes spicy, and sometimes refreshing, there is now only one episode left in our 16 bowls of ramen. I’d like to thank all of our viewers for enjoying a warm, deliciously chewy bowl of ramen with us. It will be a project I will never forget.”

He added, “Please look over Chisoo and Eunbi until the very end.”

Jung Il Woo has shown much affection for this drama right from the beginning. Not only did he design most of the props and the set, but he also took charge of the characters’ fashion and hairstyles as well.

Viewers commented, “Is this really a goodbye? I’m watching till the very end!” “Looking forward to seeing you in your next drama! I won’t be able to forget Cha Chisoo!” and “How can this be the end! With you until the end!”

In related news, the drama will also be released as a comic book series under the same title.

2NE1′s Sandara Park supports Jung Il Woo’s new drama




2NE1‘s Sandara Park revealed her friendship with actor Jung Il Woo.

On October 30th, she posted on her me2day, “Jung Il Woo is my flower boy friend as I introduce Jung Il Woo! We’ve become crazy! He seems to be preparing a ramyun store! I want to eat yum yum yum ramyun! Everyone, have a good day!

With her comment Dara uploaded the poster for Jung Il Woo’s character in tvN‘s drama, Flower Boy Ramyun Shop‘. Dara posted the photo before its October 31st premier to help promote it.

Netizens replied with, “Hope your friendship continues” and “I’m envious that you’re Jung Il Woo’s friend.
