Psy Becomes First Korean Artist to Crack iTunes’ Top 20

Psy’s ascent on the music charts is showing no signs of slowing down.

As of September 8 (KST), Psy’s Gangnam Style has entered iTunes′ main ‘Top 20’ chart at 18th place.

The feat marks the first time a Korean artist has entered the Top 20 and is the best showing for a Korean artist since Girls′ Generation (SNSD)′s number 70 ranking for The Boys.

The rise on the charts comes just a day after Psy’s historic appearance and performance at the MTV VMAs which probably aided Gangnam Style’s ascent.

With Psy having signed with Scooter Braun for his career management in the U.S., many are hoping and expecting to see the song climb even farther up the charts in the weeks to come.
