Hip hop duo Leessang‘s Gil is drawing attention for his unique judging style on Mnet‘s ‘Voice Korea‘.
Gil has developed his very own judging style as a coach on ‘Voice Korea’ with his wise and eloquent words, and fans are seeing him in a whole new light because of it.
He may be a bit goofy at times, but Gil’s commentary on the program is unparalleled and has already become a hot issue amongst his fans.
On episode 2, he told contestant Yoo Seung Eun who sang Lee Hyori‘s “10 minute“, “The desert is beautiful because there is an oasis to be found somewhere. You are like the desert, and there are many oases to be found within you. I’d like to find them.”
And to contestant Lee Yoon Kyung who sang Park Jung Hyun‘s “In A Dream” on episode 4, Gil remarked, “Diamonds are no different from rocks if they are not cut down and refined. After hearing your voice, I’d like to break it down to find the diamond.”
With his commentaries, Gil has shown that underneath his rugged hip-hop exterior, he is a warm and rather approachable individual. Consistently offering warm words of encouragement and advice to his disciples to help them ease their anxious hearts, and lightening up the atmosphere with his witty sense of humor, he has become an indispensable personality on the program.
In related news, Gil and Gary of Leessang will be returning with their 8th album on May 18th, and have plans to hold a ‘Leessang Theater 2‘ at the Olympic Park in Seoul July 14th~15th.
