2NE1′s Dara shares thoughts on wrapping up ‘NEW EVOLUTION’ tour in America

Dara revealed a family picture of 2NE1, and shared her thoughts after wrapping up their ‘NEW EVOLUTION‘ concerts in the United States.

On August 26th, Dara posted the above picture to me2day with the message: “Whether it was too long or too short, our schedule in America has ended. ^_^ Ah. I’m sad.. It feels like I’m leaving after frantically working, so I want to come for a vacation next time. New Jersey and LA Black Jacks, thank you so much! T.T I’ll miss you guys… It seems like many wonderful things are happening these days, and it’s all thanks to you guys. Muah.”

Fans are commenting that the 2NE1 members look like sisters in the group picture. They responded, “They must be tired because of the continuous concert schedule“, “They really look like a family“, and “2NE1 is most beautiful when they’re all gathered together“.

Meanwhile, 2NE1 successfully finished their global tour ‘NEW EVOLUTION‘ in the US and will launch the ‘NEW EVOLUTION’ Japanese tour on the coming 31st.

2NE1′s Dara thanks fans after successfully finishing the ‘NEW EVOLUTION’ concert in L.A.

2NE1 successfully carried out their ‘NEW EVOLUTION‘ tour in Los Angeles on August 24th at the Nokia Theatre. 2NE1 became the first musicians from Asia to have tickets completely sold out at the venue and they were presented with an award.

On August 25th, Dara posted on her me2day, “Finished with the concert in Los Angeles! Surprise visit by Will.I.Am and apl.de.ap! Their amazing freestyle rap! Thank you so much everyone. This is a gift by the staff members of Nokia Theatre. It’s a gift presented to artists who sold out all the tickets and apparently we were the first from Asia! It’s all thanks to our fans! I’m so happy right now.”

Along with the post, a picture of Dara holding up the plaque given by Nokia Theatre was included as well.

In related news, Black Eyed Peas members Will.I.Am and apl.de.ap surprised the audience by making an appearance on stage.

2NE1′s ‘New Evolution’ concert tour in New Jersey brings in 7,000 fans

2NE1 has managed to bring in over 7,000 fans on the first leg of their global tour in the States!

On August 17th, the girls held their ‘New Evolution‘ tour at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, a concert venue that has previously featured Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi, the Eagles, and Sting. The concert unfortunately started off with a glitch in the system, but fans forgot all about the wait once the opening video started up on screen.

2NE1 kicked off their concert with “I Am the Best“, a performance that made everyone get up from their seats and dance along. The girls managed to turn the concert hall into a club as they carried on with performances of “Fire“, “Clap Your Hands“, “I Don’t Care“, and “Don’t Stop the Music“.

CL, who transformed into a DJ, introduced various pop numbers, while Bom performed her solo hit, “You and I“. Minzy showed off a powerful dance number that made the audience drop their jaws in awe in addition to Dara, who jumped down into the audience during her solo performance of “Kiss“.

Following the solo stages were performances of “It Hurts“, “I Love You“, and “Lonely“. The two-hour long concert saw a total of 23 live performances as the girls brought it to a successful conclusion.

2NE1 will be continuing onto Los Angeles on the 24th and Japan on the 31st.

2NE1′s Dara gives a lucky fanboy a kiss on the cheek

On July 28th, 2NE1‘s Dara drove her fans wild after planting a kiss on a fanboy’s cheek during the group’s latest concert.

Held at the Seoul Olympic Park Gynmastics Stadium, 2NE1 opened their ‘New Evolution‘ World tour, performing their past hits as well as special solo performances by the members.

But once it was Dara’s turn to perform solo, the singer suddenly announced, “I’m known to have a fresh image, but I’m actually a wild woman. For a sexy performance today, I’m going to bring a male audience onto the stage.”

To this, all the male audience members began frantically waving their arms in order to grab the attention of the singer. However, Dara remarked, “I’m being attracted to head towards area 4 today,” and after scanning the crowd, the singer pointed at a foreign fan saying, “I’ll pick that person. White t-shirt. Yes, you. Come onto the stage.”

With the lucky fan seated in a chair, Dara began performing her 2009 hit single ‘Kiss‘. The idol then made an unexpected move by giving the guest a peck on the cheek, leaving a prominent lipstick stain and causing onlookers to scream with jealousy.

In releated news, 2NE1 will be continuing their World tour by heading to the States on August 17th to perform in New Jersey and California. The ladies will then be flying to Japan on September 1st to perform in various cities like Osaka, Nagoya, and Yokohama.

Shinhwa’s Minwoo attends 2NE1′s concert with invitation from Sandara Park

Recently on the Shinhwa Company twitter account, Shinhwa member Minwoo posted a collage of photos taken at 2NE1‘s ‘New Evolution‘ concert held on his birthday, the 28th of July, at the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium.

The photo revealed selcas of the singer and his friends, and even one of Sandara‘s face on the big screen.

Along with the photo the singer posted, “Birthday boy Minwoo has been drinking since the clock struck midnight and turned the 28th~ Went to a wedding in the morning~ Now I’m at 2NE1′s concert with an invitation from Sandara! Thank you lots and lots for the congratulations everyone <3”

Psy congratulates 2NE1 on their &#8216;New Evolution&#8217; World tour with a &#8216;Gangnam Style&#8217; wreath

Singer Psy‘s congratulatory wreath for 2NE1 has been brought to attention.

On the 28th, member Dara posted a photograph on her Me2Day along with the words, “The first wreath sitting all alone in front of our waiting room! From Psy oppa! Wow~ Oppa Gangnam Style! Thank you for your support! Our first concert at the Gymnastics Stadium! We’ll take in Psy oppa’s energy enthusiastically! GO!”

The photograph revealed Psy’s gift which read, “I ferociously congratulate your first Gymnastics Stadium performance, from Gangnam oppa Psy” which drew much laughter from readers.

Netizens who came across the photo replied with comments such as, “Psy is witty“, “Psy and 2NE1′s enthusiastic friendship“, “Is the wreath Gangnam Style too?” and more.

A compilation of photos titled ‘Lee Dong Wook‘s cute body language” was recently posted on an online community site showcasing a few behind-the-scenes photos from the recent ‘Cass Light‘ CF filming.

Although CL comfortably strikes a sexy pose, Lee Dong Wook is unable to hold his balance with his awkward pose and is seen falling over to the side. CL tries to hold in her laughter as she smiles, and fans also couldn’t help but laugh at Lee Dong Wook’s attempt.

Minzy folds paper stars to wish 2NE1&#8242;s concert a success

On July 22nd, 2NE1‘s Dara shared a photo of Minzy backstage during their rehearsal for their upcoming concert.

Through her me2day, she wrote, “Although she shows us passionate dancing on stage, our Mingki has a feminine side to her where she folds origami stars during her breaks. Each star is full of your love and support. Until our concert, D-6… Let’s all die together~!!! Please take care of your health until you get here!”

Just like Dara said, Minzy proves herself to be the group’s adorable maknae, no matter how much sexy charisma she’s able to ooze on stage as the group’s main dancer.

2NE1&#8242;s &#8216;lipstick art&#8217; for New Evolution promo pictures becomes a hot topic

2NE1’s shock factor generally lies around the territory of clothes and hairstyles. This time, however, the girls decided play around with their make up as they pose for promotional posters for “New Evolution,” the girls’ upcoming world tour.

The posters see the four ladies posing fiercely, flaunting their individual look. Netizens took notice of the girls’ lips, as each member has on a rather interesting choice of color and design. Members CL and Dara both have on animal print patterns, while Minzy and Bom have on a solid, pearly shade of purple and light pink respectively.  All four ladies are wearing temporary lip tattoos by Violent Lips, which has become all the rage this summer.

“It’s so unique, I think it’s a look only 2NE1 can pull of,” comments one netizen, “It looks kind of creepy, but I like it!”

Meanwhile, the girls are working diligently to promote their latest digital single “I Love You” as well as preparing for their world tour, expected to kick off on July 28th in Seoul. Note, the sudden passing of Minzy’s grandmother may alter their promotions.

2NE1&#8242;s Minzy &#038; Yang Hyun Suk make a compromise regarding sexy dances

2NE1′s Minzy revealed that she made a compromise with her agency’s CEO Yang Hyun Suk after he asked her to cut down on the sexy dances.

In an interview held on July 6th at the YG Entertainment building, the interviewer asked, “We heard that Yang Hyun Suk gave you a special command to refrain from doing sexy dances?“  To this Minzy replied, “That is why he has give me space to express my freedom in my solo parts.”

She went on to say, “Overall, the choreography is very sexy but we made a compromise when I went over the choreography with our CEO.”

CL stated, “I don’t think that our CEO likes us to be overtly sexy.  It still needs to have the 2NE1 flavor so the dance needs to be changed accordingly.”

Previously, Yang Hyun Suk said in a different interview, “In the new choreography for 2NE1, there is a sexy dance where they use the lower half of their bodies.  All the members are doing well with the sexy dance so I am satisfied, but when our underage member Minzy does it I just feel a little uncomfortable.”

2NE1 released a new track on July 5th the mixes electronic and trot titled, ‘I Love You‘ and has been atop many music charts.  They will make their their comeback on July 8th through SBS’s ‘Inkigayo.’

On the 28th and 29th, 2NE1 will open a world tour titled ‘NEW EVOLUTION‘ in Seoul and move on to hold concerts in 10 cities in 7 countries.

Dara has announced 2NE1‘s ’me2day Star Chatting‘ event!

The 2NE1 member posted to me2day on July 2nd KST, “What’s up?!? Everyone~ Shall we talk? July 11th evening!!! me2day star chatting with 2NE1!!! Are there things you’ve been curious about or wanted to tell us?!? I’m curious! For those who want to participate~ Right now! Register~ ^_^ It’s real chatting~! Wow~ My heart’s fluttering! What should we talk about…?”

Registration for a chance to participate in the chatting event will be open from July 2nd until the 9th at midnight KST. The ten lucky Blackjacks who’ve won the opportunity to chat with the 2NE1 members will be revealed on July 10 KST, and the actual chat event will take place on the evening of the 11th.

Jeremy Scott to design 2NE1&#8242;s stage outfits for &#8216;New Evolution&#8217; tour

2NE1 will become the first Korean girl group to hold a global tour, entitled ‘New Evolution‘, and to make the feat even more special, designer Jeremy Scott has stepped up to directly participate in the tour!

Jeremy Scott,the renowned designer who has been picked as one of the most important figures in the fashion world by ‘Face‘ magazine, will be designing the girls’ stage ensembles for their upcoming tour. Every detail will be taken into consideration as the girls’ dancers will also be sporting outfits created by the designer as well.

The girls announced this collaboration news along with a new concert photo, showcasing pieces from Jeremy Scott’s 2012 Fall and Winter collection.

Although many well known fashion designers have specially designed outfits for the tours of globally famous stars like Madonna and Lady Gaga, this will be the first time for a Korean girl group to sport specially created stage outfits by a widely respected designer.

In addition to Jeremy Scott, the girls have also sought the help from other globally recognized talents like Travis Payne (choreographer behind Michael Jackson‘s ‘This Is It‘ concert), Divinity Roxx (band leader during Beyonce‘s tour), and Michael Cotton (the stage designer for Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ tour).

2NE1 to become the first girl group to hold a world tour

It has been announced  that 2NE1, a girl group that has already achieved domestic popularity, will become the first girl group to hold a world tour!

The world tour, entitled ‘NEW EVOLUTION‘, will start in Seoul, South Korea, specifically at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena, from July 28th to 29th. It is planned that 2NE1 will make stops in 10 cities among 7 countries located in Asia, the Americas, and Europe.

Although with the growing popularity of the KPop Wave there have been boy bands that have held their own world tours before, for a Korean girl group, this will be the first. Because no other girl group has made this grand attempt before, 2NE1′s announcement is drawing more and more attention.

Ever since their debut in 2009, 2NE1 has been receiving a lot of fans in Korea and also abroad. They have also completed their first concert in Korea as well as in Japan with their arena tour, where they gathered more than 70,000 audience member.

2NE1 will be holding the tour with Live Nation, whom their sunbae group, Big Bang, is already collaborating with for their own world tour.

A representative from YG Entertainment has commented, “2NE1′s ‘NEW EVOLUTION’ world tour will be even better than 2NE1′s past concerts, as the members will be able to show off their abilities and a more evolved performance through it.”

“Presently, there are 10 cities among 7 countries scheduled; as representatives of foreign countries receive the news of 2NE1′s world tour and more requests are put in for 2NE1′s appearance, the possibilities of more concert locations being added are high.”

Tickets for 2NE1′s ‘NEW EVOLUTION’ world tour will be available on June 26th via Gmarket.
