Super Junior has been selected as this year's honorary ambassadors for the Gangnam province, and the Gangnam District Appointment Ceremony was held in Gangnam's city hall in Seoul's Samsung-dong.
The past ambassadors included Rain from last year and Girls' Generation from the first half of 2012. This time, Super Junior is following their label mate, Girls' Generation's footstep and became the new ambassadors. Moreover, Super Junior and Girls' Generation were both selected as the ambassadors for the “Hallyu Festivals” in this coming October.
On the other hand, the Gangnam District office also awarded rapper PSY with an appreciation plaque in gratitude fir raising awareness of Gangnam-gu with his hit song “Gangnam Style”. The region became famous worldwide as “Gangnam Style” gained popularity internationally. The district plans to appoint PSY to become the new honorary ambassador.
