Recent unedited broadcast of T-ara on variety show sets off negative reactions

The appearance of the members of T-ara on ‘Quiz to Change the World‘ has set off a firestorm of public protest.

On the broadcast of the MBC variety program on the 4th, netizens were shocked to find that T-ara was not edited out of the program. The girls filmed this episode before the bullying scandal made headlines and the episode had been gaining much interest from viewers even before its air date, with questions about how the episode would be edited.

However, the questions were answered in a way some netizens found unacceptable. Eunjung, Jiyeon and new member Ahreum‘s portions were aired with no particular signs of having been filtered. The members of the girl group could be seen engaging in conversation with other guests and smiling brightly.

T-ara demonstrated the choreography for their title song ‘DAY BY DAY‘ while new member Ahreum even got the chance to dance for a ‘Dance Initiation‘. Furthermore, the girls spoke about their overseas promotions as well on the episode.

The girl group has been the center of all entertainment news for the past several days as a result of the controversy surrounding the bulling of now ex-member Hwayoung. However, Core Contents Media denied the reports stating, “The assertions made about bullying are false” and eventually Hwayoung’s contract with the group was terminated. As a result of the scandal, T-ara has decided to temporarily put a halt to their activities.

After the chain of messy events occured, T-ara’s fans turned their backs on the group and created ‘T-Jinyo‘, demanding the truth from T-ara and CCM president Kim Kwang Soo. Although the agency tried to justify the situation, fans and netizens are enraged by the fact that the bullying issue got out of hand in the first place, but also because the agency has yet to simply apologize for and acknowledge that the bullying did in fact occur.

Immediately after the episode of ‘Quiz to Change the World’ aired, comments of protest have flooded the internet. The majority of the comments criticize the production team.

A few examples of the comments were, “How could you let T-ara air on television?“, “The production staff needs to apologize immediately“, “What is going on? What do you mean T-ara was on the broadcast?“, “It seems as if the production crew is very brazen“, “What are you thinking? To think nothing at all was edited“, and more. Some comments went on to denounce MBC as a whole.

As of right now, the ‘Quiz to Change the World’ production team has yet to make a statement about the controversial broadcast. All are waiting to see what kind of justification they will make about the situation.
