Idols singers to prove themselves talented through “Immortal Song”

KBS 2TV’s “Immortal Song: The Singing Legend” has been broadcasting since June 4, 2011 and is actually the idol version of the original program, “Immortal Song” which was wrapped up in 2009. This program has a competition system for KPOP idols to perform classic Korean songs and dedicated to the seniors in the industry, and their skills and strength has been recognized and been receiving impartial evaluation of the predecessors.


The starting lineup of singers were chosen to participate in this program include the Super Junior’s Yesung, 2AM’s Chang Min, girls’ group, SISTAR’s Hyorin, Miss A’s MIN, BEAST’s Yang Yo Seob , SHINee’s Jung Hyun. Initially, the show was criticized as a copycat of MBC TV’s "We Are Singer", but later on, the content of this program has become more and more enrich, and the competition and scoring system have changed over time. The idols no longer focus on ranking, but on the other hand, taking it as a chance to be able to display their strength in front of senior singers, they bring in different techniques to surprise everyone on each of the performance. In particular, the audience can expect the true singing skills without other add on gimmicks.


# Super Junior’s trio lead singers: Yesung, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook


The trio lead singers in Super Junior, Yesung, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, has been winning one after another in the “Immortal Song”. Yesung joined the show and featured in the episode on June 18 last year, and performed the song “More Love” with his soul. This song is known for its difficulty level, but Yesung was able to perform the song perfectly with his vocals singing the treble part. Along with the victory in the competition, Yesung stated, "I hope to let everyone know that Super Junior is not only idol group, our members have put our heart into singing as well.” This statement has left the public to a better understanding of Super Junior, they remove the idol title, aside from just their faces, and they are also very powerful singers.


Following Yesung, Kyuhyun starred in theshow that was broadcasted on August 27, 2011, his perfect interpretation of the Kim Man Sun’s “Pretend To Dance”. On the day of his performance, he put on a smoky eyes makeup, and showed a very powerful singing strength provided an exceptional visual and hearing performance; he successfully surprised the audience with a 180 flip around image. On September 3, he collaborated with violinist and performed "The Assignments of Memory”, he mentioned that he wanted to sing this song long before this show. His performance with plenty of emotion has moved so many audiences on that night.


The last member from Super Junior to participate in this show is Ryeowook. On his first stage at “Immortal Song”, he earned a new recognition and referred to "The re-discovery of Ryeowook’s strength"; his powerful vocal has earned him a title at the competition on July 7. On the day of his performance, he collaborated with fellow members Shin Dong and Eun Hyuk and performed "Impatiens Romance”, his outstanding vocal and strong performance brought new life to the song. Original singer Hyun Je was blown away and was very satisfied with the remake version by Ryeowook. Ryeowook stated, "I hope Super Junior will be able to keep singing for a long time and be popular till the end just like our senior singer, Hyun Je".


# SHINee’s Taemin, the combination of both face and strength


When it comes to the idol group, SHINee, Jung Hyun and Onew’s names will naturally appear if to rank them in terms of vocal power. In fact, the strength of maknae, Taemin’s strength is nothing less compare to Jung Hyun and Onew. Taemin won the first place on the episode broadcasted on February 11 performing "Goodbye, The City”. His performance was packed with emotions along with an unforgettable dance. In addition to singing, his demeanor on the stage left the judge to have their eyes wide opened and he also received much praise from the audience. Recently, he has been active in a musical and played the role as Yim Tae Kyung, as known as the "Tae’s Brothers" in “Immortal Song”, Taemin’s more mature image has slowly turned him from a 'lovely brother' into a young man over time.


# Jay Park, always has full control of the stage


Jay Park is a multi-talent singer, his exceptional vocals, dance and stage performances includes are mind-blowing, his talents and strength been fully recognized. His extraordinary vocal, his stage presence is even more prominent in comparison with other singers. In “Immortal Song”, he performed a remake of Patti Kim’s "The Word of Love"; his remake version is full of energy and very unique. The original singer, Patti Kim praised him and said, "That is really cute.” His unique and powerful stage presence is the key point of holding a full control of the stage; this is also a signature of him which makes him distinguished from other singers.


In addition, there are many other KPOP idols are able to show off their strength through “Immortal Song,” Including Davichi’s Kang Min Kyung, MBLAQ’s G.O, INFINITE’s Seung Kyu and Yo Hyun, FT Island’s Lee Hong Ki and many more, they all have their own styles and extraordinary strength. They receive such accomplishments not only because they are born to be gifted, they are also very hard working. There are always tears and sweats behind every success, a few minutes of the stage might take them a week or more for so many rehearsals. For whom we applauded and all the efforts they make have touched our hearts. We look forward to the future, the show, “Immortal Song,” will bring to us more of unforgettable stage.
